Hi guys,

Is the Correspondence letter the same as the Letter of Introduction?
Yes the correspondence letter after approval... The content of the letter of introduction starts with:

Your UCI Number
Your Application Number

Your application to study in Canada has been approved. A permit authorizing your studies will be issued to you on your arrival to Canada following an examination by an officer of the Canada Border Services Agency, subject to your compliance with the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and its Regulations. The officer will ask to see this letter, your passport and may request to see your supporting documents, such as the letter of acceptance from your educational institution. etc......

If the above is the start of the content letter you received, you're on the right track.

Please I need some clarity on this- in the segment asking cost of my studies, room and board , is this for first year or total tuition? I know this has been asked before but can't seem to find it. Can someone please clarify this for me? Biko.
It's for the first year.

Tuition = ?
Room and Board = 10,000CAD
Others = 2,000CAD or 3,000CAD
Tuition + Room and board + Others = Funds available for my stay

Dammysk:
Hi everyone, please I need help on wether to reapply for my Canada study permit or not.
I was rejected, so I ordered my casefile. Below are reasons stated for my refusal

1. I have considered PA’s travel history, personal circumstances and family composition, the expenses related to the proposed stude and the reasonableness of undertaking theses studies in Canada. After careful consideration of the information provided, I am not satisfied that proposed studies in Canada makes sense given insufficient information on how proposed studies would improve career prospects to a degree that would offset the costs of studying in Canada instead of pursuing programs available in country of residence. Application refused

2.29yrs of age, single,no apparent travel history, graduated 2016 third party sponsor-uncle not satisfied that the applicant will have access to the funds

Please note that I already paid 8000 cad out of 14,580cad total fee for the 1year course.

School is Fanshawe college-construction mgt.
Sponsor-uncle from mother side...diff surname
Travel experience-Kenya and Dubai
Degree- HND Building,Bsc Quantity surveying

I am considering reapplying but I need sincere insight on what and what to do or what to change in my new application.

Thank you
Dammysk,

The Visa Officer is simply saying that the information (Motivation to study in Canada) you presented in your initial application was insufficient considering the high cost of undertaking a foreign education, when there are available programs offered here in Nigeria at a cheaper rate. What are your career prospects in Nigeria after completion of studies in Canada?, what are the lucrativeness of undertaking such a program in Canada?, why did you choose Canada rather than Nigeria to complete your proposed program? All these should be addressed in your updated SOP. More so, you're expected to establish strong proof of relationship between your mom and your sponsor (Uncle). Include documents like : Marriage certificate, birth certificates, intl passport bio data page, proof of ongoing financial support from uncle etc.. because, the Visa Officer is not satisfied that funds will be accessible by you from your uncle. In your next application, you need to explain extensively that your uncle has paid some part of your tuition fees as a commitment in sponsoring your studies and will do more if the need arises etc....

All the best!

Good day, please I applied for Student permit on the 17th of May 2018 and I got a refusal on the 4th of July stating that I don't have evidence to prove that I will return to home country after studies because of lack of personal assets and funds. My application was funded by a company that paid all my tuition fee and living expenses for one year. Anyway I want to reapply again because I am supposed to resume by September 2018. Please what can I do, I don't want to lose this admission and I am afraid of how long it will take them to process my application again and do I have to go for biometrics again? How can I fast track this second application. Attached below is the letter from cic

Online applications doesn't require you to sign the IMM forms. You will be prompted to fill your name as a signature after uploading all necessary documentation in the required space. Some applicants uses the acrobat adobe reader to fill and sign, but this is not compulsory. It's okay you use the first one.

Please gurus help a sister...... I'm pretty confused. My application was denied may 29th on the basis that the VO wasn't convinced I ll come back when I'm done. I applied for the gcm's note . Attached is what I got yesterday......
pemilabelle,

First, in your next reapplication endeavour to fill up the 10years employment history section on your IMM1294E, because the visa officer thought you intentionally decided not to fill the space up, just to conceal vital informations from them. Additionally, the Visa officer is unclear about your motivation to study your proposed program in Canada and also the benefit of undertaking such a program in Canada i.e the career prospects, chances of getting employment after studies etc.. are into questioning by the visa officer.

In your next application, try everything humanly possible to draft a rational letter of explanation stating your genuine intent to pursue your intended program, your future aspirations/career goals and prospects in Nigeria should be detailed.

All the best!

Good evening to everyone in the house and a very big congratulations to all those who have gotten their TRV... and to those still awaiting theirs it will end in praise IJN Amen.

PLS... my gurus in the house, I need your advice concerning my situation, I have been trying to secure masters admission but it has not come by yet.
I got an offer at Algonquin College ( Mechanical Engineering Technology, 3 Years Advanced Diploma). I am a graduate of Mechanical Engineering, i graduated with second class upper.
My fear is that will the visa officer not say there is no academic progression in my proposed program, also the tuition fees is about $ 16000 CAD for the first year, thus this program wot it considering the high tuition fees.

Your input would go a long way in assisting and guiding me.
emmy4Gold,

Why opting out for a lower dipolma certification?, You're better off applying for a higher studies to your already completed degree program in Nigeria to show a logical progression between your previous studies and current academic pursuit. In as much as there are no blue print when it comes to Canada study visa, you may decide to try your luck and put up a convincing SOP to why you're spending so much for a lower level of academic focus(advanced dipolma) and why it's so important to you at this stage in life, the lucrativeness and high employment prospects after studies, of which I think will be quite difficult for you.

You stand a chance if you go for a direct Masters degree in mechanical engineering, putting into account that you graduated with a CGPA of 2.1, you might be lucky to secure funding from reputable schools like USASK, MUN, UBC, etc...

All the best!

daculest,

To provide clarity to your pasted GCMS note, the Visa officer has doubt about your intent to study and also you've not fully convinced the visa officer about the reasonableness and lucrativeness of undertaking such a program in Canada at a high expense. The Visa officer wants to know more about your career prospects back here in Nigeria, if it is financially rewarding here after graduation from Canada when compared to the investment made in your studies in Canada.

More so, the issue of future funding that was raised by the Visa officer, Your sponsor must certify the visa officer that aside you all financial obligations must be meet i.e during your studies in Canada i.e his/her immediate family, business and personal welfare must be well taken care of by the sponsor. Documents showing sponsor's source of income plays a vital role in addressing future funding.

Above all, RE-DRAFT a new SOP lying emphasizes on your course lucrativeness after studies, why you choose Canada rather than Nigeria, how this course of study will be of paramount benefit to you as an individual and to your home country.

All the best!

Long post alert…..
I want to start by thanking God who listens to all prayers, my family, Raphael even if he’s no longer on this thread, frankrobben, glitteringstar, thank you so much for the SOP review and everyone who replies my questions on this thread. Below is my timeline
University of Saskatchewan, MPH, Fall 2018.

No travel history in fact refused visa to 3 other countries for conferences and that’s how I explained it

• Start early to prepare physically, mentally and financially to avoid rush, believe it or not. frank reviewed my SOP last year and I got my admission letter April this year, I’m sure he was wondering Nawa ooo this girl sef.. LOL, I was ready for all and applied 3 weeks after.
• Submit a sincere application with necessary supporting documents backing up everything you say, they won’t waste your time if you’re straight to the point.
• Finally PRAYER… GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS, ITS JUST TIME AND PATIENCE.
With all these things you will succeed… I pray that God will meet you all at the point of your needs. AMEN!!!!
Wow! I am honoured by your kind words, I am also excited to be a partaker of your application success. I remembered vividly when you kept on disturbing for your SOP revamping. Finally, it has ended. I am now free from your usual disturbance LOL!

Congratulations Chiamaka. God is indeed faithful.

Emmaokudu:
Good Morning Mr Frank,

My brother runs a company I work for as the procurement officer, I plan on pursing an Engineering degree in canada, He put my name as one of the directors when he was registering the company so I want to use the company as my ties back home, although its company that does engineering jobs from time to time but hardly ever so I'm not in that department

would this reason for my ties back home suffice? also, would it be a red flag that I'm currently not working as an engineer even though i have a first degree in engineering?
Emmaokudu,

Being among the board of directors in a company is a good tie to your home country. In as much as the visa officers are not custodians of knowledge, you will have to present documents to further buttress your claims to be true and a little explanations on your SOP should suffice to address this. Don't only rely on this company as means of showing ties to your home country, add landed properties documents, buildings, investments etc..

Again, to your course consistency, It's a red flag only if you can't present a rational explanation to why you left your discipline (Engineering) for so long and have been working in a non-related field and now decide to further for higher studies in (Engineering). However, the word progression can be seen by the visa officer from your previous studies, current employment and intended program... If your intended program in Canada is directly related to your previous studies(Bsc) it's also a progression. As stated earlier, you will still have to explain why you've not been following a career path since you left university.

All the best!

post=68877789:

Good evening guys.

To those that got approval a big congratulation.

Please, i want your opinion. i have been denied four times counting from 2014. It can be so discouraging but i honestly do not want to give up.

Now, i want to try again but need your advice, who knows it might go along way.

I studied Computer Engineering and work as an HSE Supervisor. i want to apply for MSc. in Environmental, Health and Safety.

My question is this, will the VO regard my application since my Degree does not tally with my work experience.
BVNO,

Your degree mustn't tally with your work experience. Once there is a progression in career, you have no problem whatsoever. Do the necessary home work by showing correlation between HSE and Environmental health and safety in your SOP. You will be okay.

Lastly, be sure you've tackled the concerns of the visa officer before reapplying considering you've been rejected four (4) times now.

It shall end in praises.
