@Frankrobbn1,

Thanks for your response. So you are suggesting that most likely, my application is probably being processed by a London visa officer?

goingforward.
Yes Ma'am! There are high tendency that your application is being processed by the London visa officer. Recently, that's where most online applications are treated.

@Frankrobbn1,

follow up question,

It seems that what keeps most online applications pending for long is background check, how is it that background check for paper applications are done fasterhuh? huh huh huh. Aren't they accessing the same database for security checks?

goingforward
Every application undergo the same background check. The delay in getting response for online route should be from the Visa officers handling the application. Therefore, the blame should be on the London Visa officers and not the routes. We find out that Nairobi visa officers are dedicated to their work and very fast in giving out reponse as soon as they recieve an application, but reverse is the case for London visa officers.

You just have to be hopeful. It shall end in praises.

Please I have a question for the house.
Still waiting on getting a police clearance, hopefully will apply for January 2019 session lastest next week.

Want to apply online, but my dad and his brother who's a citizen in Canada keep insisting on me going to the abuja visa office and submitting a paper application so I can be assisted if there're mistakes. They insisted the paper application is preferable to that online.

My issue now is, if I do a paper application, is it possible to do biometrics same day and submit my passport same day?

And do I have to print out the form before travelling or I can get it right there in the office?
Hello:

In terms of having someone in assisting, arranging and making sure your documents are properly filled... Paper route will be your best bet here.

Going through paper route, you will complete your biometrics same day, submit your passport with your application and pay for your visa application fee of #56,050 at the counter in the VFS office.

Filling the forms before heading to the VFS Office will be cheaper because you will be charged like 7K to get your forms filled by some bussiness centers (Cyber Cafe) outside the VFS office premises. (Putting into consideration that you're a novice, you might decide to pay them to help fill your form, so as to avoid mistakes).

Use this medium to access the forms needed for your application and follow the instructions provided:
DOWNLOAD STUDY VISA APPLICATION FORMS

Furthermore, there are no best route to use (be it online or paper) in as much as people get refused and approved in both routes.

All the best!

Oga Frank,

12 monthshuh?? OK oooo

That may bring me asking what they could be verifying .Please what do they look out for during background check and review of eligibility as this may be two main sections application gets hooked. From below screen shot I can see they are still at background check (9weeks)...

Oga Franck and gurus over!!!
Biakwa,

BACKGROUND CHECK: means they are matching the information you provided with their records, if you previously committed a crime, refused a visa, ordered to leave a country and if you are a threat to their security or on a wanted watch list.

REVIEW OF ELIGIBILITY: is the final check and the final stage of your application at the Visa Office. At this point, all of the components of your application are assessed by CIC. They will be checking if you actually QUALIFY for a study permit and if your application meet the requirements of the IRCC Act.
During the eligibility review, the Visa officer will then request for medical check ups as needed by the Visa Office to complete your application.

Most times, it is the Review of Eligibility that some applicants fail to meet because their applications and conditions does not meet the requirements of the IRCC Act (Insufficient funds, course correlation, limited home ties, failure to convince the visa officer that the primary intention is to study). Other checks are just standard procedure for CIC.

After successful review of applicant application and considering that there were no serious issues in the medical checkup, mispresentation, and security to ensure that you will not be a danger to Canadians should your study permit be approved, the Visa Officer will then request for your passport.

kpizzle:
Hi all,

I have just been refused the 2nd time on travel history and purpose of visit. I applied with a virgin passport. it is kind of sad.
kpizzle,

Sorry about the outcome of your application.

The prime driver behind your visa refusal was purpose of visit. You have failed to satisfy the visa officer that your proposed studies in Canada makes sense given insufficient information on how your proposed studies in Canada would improve career prospects to a degree that would offset the costs and expenses in studying in Canada instead of pursing programs available in country of residence.
Before reapplying, try your possible best to answer the above in your SOP, you will get it the third time.

Travel history is not a factual reason for a visa refusal.

It shall end in praises in your next application.

It’s a difference without distinction. Both emailed numerous times. Tag of desperation should be tagged on both if really there was such a thing. And this person has something urgent to communicate to CIC that is needed. There is no such thing as right when dealing with CIC, everything is a privilege and you must always defer to their privilege and thank them for their time when contacting them. That is the recipy for success.
Very well then Attorney, you have said yours and I have also made my point out spoken. I think the applicant will now decide which opinion best suit him/her. Let's move onto important things

This whole desperation tag is bogus. There is no evidence for it. If it were true, many people who emailed CIC countless times and never received a response and the only time they got response, was an approval notice, would never have been so. Abiodunne who is now in Canada is a case study. My humble opinion.
Abiodunne the case study you used, had every right to send mails to CIC because I can recall vividly that his application stayed close to a year (12 months) before getting a reponse. This applicant in question application is not close to the processing time, talk more of exceeding it. As earlier stated by me, I don't advise such person to send a CSE to CIC, because this might affect the credibility of the applicant application.

Sorry about the outcome of your application. I won't advice you to quit. Remember the saying goes "Winners never quit, they strive harder for success at all cost".

Never quit. It is the easiest cop-out in the world. Set a goal and don't quit until you attain it. When you do attain it, set another goal, and don't quit until you reach it. Never quit.
You might want to push in another application for the last time. Share your profile and the generic reasons for your refusal. So we can pick it up from there.

Good morning everybody,

I’m in a dilemma right now. My school Thompson Rivers University has a deadline for showing them that I’ve received my student permit on the 8th August. Unfortunately for me my online application in the CIC website is still stuck on “We are reviewing your Eligibility”.

Should I mail CIC to inquire even though they haven’t yet exceeded the normal processing time? And if I should, which emails should I write to?
joe10:
How old is your application? Please do not message CIC yet as your application has not gone beyond the processing time, even if you did you might not get any response and this can read desperation which might force them to deny you approval. If you have passed medical, the possibility of receiving approval is high, also since they are reviewing your eligibility, decision will be reached in no time. I would advise you message the school that CIC is yet to reach a final decision on your application and that this is beyond your control. You can also attach a screen shot of your online profile to the message.

I hope this helps.
I go with joe10's advice, it's a guided one. Don't mail CIC if your application has not exceeded the normal processing times for Nigerian applicants because if you eventually do so, you won't get a response from them and you might be likely tagged as a desperate applicant. It's more better you mail your school and explain to them that a decision has not been made on your visa application.

Oga Frank

What am meant to understand now is it that it's a norm or like usual thing for a typical online application to stay up to 9 weeks without medical call. What could be the % going down Memory Lane for an an online application to stay this long and the outcome because from the look of things June online applicants are wondering what could happen..
No one here has an answer to this... The fact remains that online applications are unpredictable. An online application can stay pass the normal processing times (9weeks) without medical request and still be refused.

Speak to God in prayers and every other thing(VISA) shall be added unto you!

That is as good as me placing an ad here which is completely against the rule.

Again why would I recommend one website and not the other ones? This what people have to figure out themselves.
Thank you for acknowledging my previous post. With all due respect Sir, placing a tested and trusted ad here for prospective applicants to order for their GCMS note is not bad in any way, either it helps the present situation. I can recall brilliantly some time last year on this thread, when applicants freely make use of third party GCMS website, not until after we had a range of news going round about that some applicants were secretly defrauded outside this thread all in the name of assisting them in ordering for their GCMS note. Thanks to you, who took it up and sanctioned the impostors involved in such Fraudulent Act. But, this has got nothing to do with the trusted third party GCMS website people have been making use of on this thread, our threat last year was on the imposter in question. We never had any bad reviews from applicants here concerning the third party webpage.

Kindly make this GCMS website to be available here again, so that people won't be facing challenges or being restricted to having someone in Canada before ordering for their notes. Let's be sympathetic and considerate please.

Thank you!

Also, be guided that when using the above link, you will need someone who is legally residing in Canada be it a citizenship of Canada, student, permanent resident or a visitor before you can be able to order for this GCMS NOTE. You will further need the person's mailing address, phone number, email address. At the end, you're expected to sign the consent form, authorizing this person to order for the note on your behalf. OR better still, get the person's details, then complete payment using your naira Master Card from Nigeria.

COVER LETTER TO THE MODERATOR

Mr. Justwise,
Greetings to you honourable admin of this reputable thread,

I write on behalf of the prospective applicants who were recently refused of their study visas and are finding it very difficult in ordering for their GCMS note using the ATIP LINK which you pasted at the first page of this thread. I beseech that you look into this matter ASAP and get a supporting and a trusted website where applicants can easily order for their GCMS notes, without being mandatory/restricted that an applicant must have someone in Canada before ordering for their GCMS note, considering the fact that not all applicants that are here has someone in Canada. I have decided to call on your attention to this present situation.

I hope you kindly look into my suggestion and find the best possible way to handle the issue on ground.

Kind Regards,

Hello House,

I am seriously in need of help. I apply for GCMS Note last week and I got this mail . Kindly assist to review this and help me.
muizzzz,

It's pretty clear and straight forward. The snap shot you attached, is clearly saying that you need someone who is legally residing in Canada be it a citizenship of Canada, student, permanent residence or a visitor before you can be able to order for this GCMS NOTE, the person's address, phone number, a written/signed consent form from you authorizing this person to order the note on your behalf, a valid identity document (passport) of the person etc....

The question here is, Do you have anyone In Canada who can order for this gcms note on your behalf? If yes, get the person to do this for you. OR better still, get the person's details following the above requirements listed and complete payment using your Naira Master Card. Whichever of the two is good. It's left for you to decide which best is okay for you.

Am seriously indeed of advice..
This is my first attempt
I was denied a study visa and am yet to understand what the visa officer is actually looking for..
Reasons I was given
1. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay , as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of IRPR (a) Based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
(b) Based on your purpose of Visit
(c) Based on you personal and financial status

I got admission to study “Health care and Environmental Service Management “ ,2yrs College diploma , in Toronto

•I have a Bsc (Biochemistry 2.1) 2016
•Have a Health security safety and Environment HSSE Certificate ( Level 1,2 and 3) 2017
•Did my one Nysc at Ministry of Environment and Mineral resources (nov 2016 to October 2017)

Documents submitted
•All cic forms ( Including student questionnaire and family form)
•Statement of Result
•Nysc Certificate
•HSSE Certificate (level 1,2 and 3)
•waec
•Neco
•First School leaving Certificate
•The College offer letter
•receipts of all fees requested by the college $7,400 CAD
• my father’s company bank Statement of 40Million naira
•company registration
•sponsorship letter from my father
•company board of resolution letter (stating they are aware and in support) this was written by my mum because she’s one of the director
•my Virgin international passport
•photocopies of my parents international passport data page and visa pages ( USA and India)

Also, I filled in my form that am working in my father’s company as the secretary, from January 12, 2018 till date.

What I totally don’t understand is my personal assets and financial status they are talking about, for Christ sake I stated my father is my sponsor..
Secondly, the Canada family ties , my family is here in Nigeria (father, mother and all my siblings), We just have one family friend in Canada which I also told them

Please I need your kind suggestions.. #RemainBlessed
Dera12345,

Sorry about the outcome of your application. In order not to derail the thread with constant repetition to already answered questions, I believe the below attached link will go a long way to quench the curiosity about your visa refusal.

Hello house,

Please, I need some clarifications, I got admission to Windsor MSc. Can I use a sponsor who isn't a blood relation? Or what documents proof someone is my cousin? Please help.
DeuxMille,

Yes you can use a Sponspor who isn't a blood relation to you. This sponsor of yours must convince the visa officer beyond reasonable doubt that he/she is financially capable of sponsoring you throughout your stay in Canada. A convincing reason to why he/she is spending so much on you to further your studies abroad while there are available programs offered here in Nigeria, must suffice in your sponsor letter of support. Strong financial commitment towards sponsoring you by paying part or full tuition fees and transferring funds into your personal/dorm account, is very crucial when it comes to third party sponsorship. Sponsor must certify the visa officer that while financing your studies in Canada, that all financial obligations must be meet i.e his/her immediate family members, business, and personal welfare must be taken care of. Evidence of history or ongoing financial support from your sponsor goes a long way to show strong proof of relationship. Furthermore, you can show proof of relationship with cousin by including your father's birth certificates and your sponsor (cousin) father's birth certificates too.. And also your birth certificate and that of your cousin as well. That's if this were to be a paternal cousin...

All the best!

Ratawu,

I'll have to disagree with you on this. What have you to say to applicants whose applications have gone past the 9 weeks processing times? That, their applications are starting all over again?. I am sorry to say but sometimes your proclamations here are invalid. I remembered how you once said that paper route application documents are being scanned to the processing office by the VFS workers, thereby leaving some vital documents behind, which you said attributed to the fast refusal on paper route. Advising folks here that Online route is the best route to suit. I further requested to know how you came up with this ideology of yours, you kept mute. I can also remember some time ago, when you announced that the updated IMM5707E family form which excludes adding details of applicant siblings was fake and not the actual form to use for paper route applicants. After series of debate here, you laterly find out that it was an acceptable form to use from IRCC.

Please let's be very sure of what we are dishing out here. We should have in mind that this is a public forum and many depend on informations gotten here.

Hello House,

LONG POST

@Jnyuwa02 @Mcobex @Frankrobbn1 and other house mates.....

Please find attached, a change in my profile.
Let me just break it down here for easy understanding after which i have questions to ask.
I just checked my account now and saw that "We do not need ur fingerprints" under the biometrics. And i have not done any biometrics for my re-application yet cos I just re-applied on the 28th of July. Buh meanwhile, I last applied on the 13th of September 2017 which was refused, and that is the date showing at the date of Biometrics Enrollment(as seen in the photo). Now my questions.
1. As stated earlier, I said I re-applied on the 28th of this month and I was debited 285CAD, which I think should not be, since they already have a record of my bio-metrics. So is there a way to let them know about this so I can be refunded for just the biometrics or something?
2. I have already booked an appointment for my biometrics for tommorow(I had already booked before going to my profile to see these changes), should I still go and do another biometrics or I should just ignore since my profile is saying they do not need my finger prints. Please I will really appreciate answers cos I do not knw what to do now.
From my point of view, I think you are suppose to undergo biometrics again. Because the rule says applicants that did biometrics after 31/7/2018 will not have to submit their finger prints till after 10years. Looking closely from your profile, I was baffled to see the biometrics enrollment date being last year (2017) and expiration date as (2027). Inorder not to judge by our assumptions, I'll be very eager to know if you finally did this biometrics of yours at the VFS Office.

Keep the house updated on how you went about this. Finally, I don't advise you mail CIC because of this issue at hand. It's not reasonable to do so.
