I have HND in Science Laboratory Technology (Biology / Microbiology). Please I need suggestion of programs in my area in colleges since HND are not admitted to master's program in Canada. I have been making personal search and my nursing option seems not to be working.
I will appreciate suggestions. @Lekiboboe and other gurus please help.
Thanks and God bless you all.
The best course for your background is PGC/Advanced fast track diploma in Biotechnology at Centennial College.

Good morning everyone, I'm kind of confused... my medical was passed Feb 8t. I logged in into my portal this morning then I saw it has been changed to *you do not need a medical exam, we will message you if this changes*
Is there anything I should be bothered about?
It's an indication that your medical exam has expired. Usually a medical result is valid for 1-year. So expect further instructions from IRCC.

Hello! House.
I still need pieces of advice:

Got LOA from U o A for my wife
We are family of 5( 3 kids).
- should I initiate application for my wife with the kids at the same time with my visitor's visa?
I am actually thinking of going with them to settle them; then return to my work in Naija.

Pls......advice needed.
How old are your kids? A family application together with your wife's application package is obtainable. You need to show evidence of adequate unencumbered funds and assets back home that would compel your return home after studies.

Hello everyone, please a friend's application was refused on this reason • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

What do you advise she should do.
Is a judicial review in view?
If yes, what is the process like?

Thank you!
I regret to hear that your friend's study visa application was refused. In order to proffer solution to your friend's visa refusal, I'll like to know if s/he included documents such as pay stubs, tax documents, personal/salary bank statement and/or landed property documents in the applicant's name. Once you're able to provide answers to this, then I can advice you on the next steps.

Ist time Applicant, I really cannot contain my joy.
I first started my Canada journey by wanting to go through FSW Express Entry. I was already in the process and trying to boast my points for ITA. But because of the hold on FSW I had to look for an alternative, and I found nairaland and this wonderful thread. Then I started seeing people's testimonies about working with frankrobbn, immediately I told myself I was going to use him to package my application,since it's a situation of throwing all eggs in a basket. I also got amazing friends from this platform (Donald's im waiting for your own ppr lol and Dami tanks for guiding me) that helped me through it all.
Also my mum was my sponsor and I work for her.
indeed this thread is great and very useful.
PS: If you are looking for an agent do not hesitate to contact Frankrobbn (F&Rglobal) to help you package your application,it is tested and trusted.lol
I sent mails to Abuja and Nairobi from Jan 5th,4 daily. Got some generic response but I kept sending,even went as far as ordering notes. I won't be needing it anymore grin

Dear Fellow Nairalanders,

I am a second-time applicant, Reapplied on the 30th of October, 2021 with an up-front medical. Didn't get any update until I started sending them emails and sending web forms from the 9th of January to 14th and I noticed a Ghost update today and when I went into my profile, I noticed my Upfront Medicals has been updated.

So, what other queries do I send to VOs and to who, Abuja or Nairobi ?
The ghost update you noticed on your profile is a signal that your application is actively being worked on by an immigration officer at the Canadian embassy in Nairobi. To further expedite a decision on your file, channel your enquires to the visa office in Nairobi for updates.

I need your “opinion” on this take please, which seems more lucrative to study in Canada
Business administration (international business)
Or
Business administration (marketing)
Any other suggestions on business related career pathways would be appreciated
NOTE — for a younger sibling first degree
From my professional experience, I will suggest Business Administration with specialisation in International Business is more lucrative after studies in Canada.

The question is that the person has MBA in National Open University and is seeking PGD program in Canada, he want to know is chance of visa issuance, is there any academic progression in this?
With an MBA degree seeking to pursue a PGD program in Canada doesn't demonstrate a logical progression. The applicant should apply for a Second master's different from the Intial master's.

I want to ask that if my visa got denied and I want to defer my admission do I need to tell the school that I got denied as a reason for deferring my admission or just simply tell them that my application is taking longer time to process sir/ma.
You need to inform the school in writing that your visa was delayed by the Canadian immigration. In the email correspondence, you should attach a copy of the refusal letter to request for a deferral of your admission.

Happy New Year my fellow Nairalanders! I'm glad to be in your midst this year again.

To provide answer to your question, it doesn't appear reasonable for your brother who is resident in Canada to sponsor you and your wife. He already has his dependents in Canada which the visa officer is well-informed about and a simple background check on his immigration status would delcare same. My professional advice for you is that you (the husband) should fund your account and sponsor the trip to Canada.

I wish you the very best.

How soon after a request document has been uploaded does the VO get to start working on it.
How soon a visa officer gets to start work on an immigration application based on the new request is contingent on the workload on the officer's desk. No one can predict for sure the timeframe for review of additional documents. This may take up to 1 week to months.

Since your MP is unable to assist you make an enquiry on your application. I will rather suggest that you continue mailing the responsible immigration officer handling your application to expedite the processing of your file. In the event that your file has exceeded the normal processing times, you may consider ordering your case file in order to ascertain the progress your file has reached.

If you know the exact time that is convenient for you to complete the biometrics at the VAC. You don't need to wait for the BIL to drop before you can book for an appointment. In most cases, BIL drops within 24hrs after an immigration application has been submitted.

Good morning everyone,

I got a question,

For Someone who is running a full time 1 year Program in Canada, can such person take a second Program that is One year but part time?

The school offering this second program is a DLI and is PGWP eligible, and they accept international students.

The intentions of this person is to do this part time 1-year second program and get a 2-3years PGWP

Thanks

@Makano et. al
As an international student, you can't run two different courses concurrently. You will have to complete the first program prior to enrolling for the second program so you can qualify for a three years PGWP.

It is highly recommended that you order for your case file once a refusal has been communicated to you. It will enable you understand the actual reasons for the refusal of your application. This will guide you on how to present your case in the next attempt with adequate information and persuasive explanation to show that your situation has substantially changed.

LONG POST ALERT!

My PPR journey

It's been Grace nothing else!

First time applicant

•Biometrics letter: July 20th 2021
•Biometrics completed and updated: July 22nd 2021

•Medical updated to pass: July 27th 2021
•Eligibility review: sept 25th 2021 (sighted), not sure of the exact date it started.
I did not catch any ghost update
•BVL/ppr: October 26th 2021

My story
I got my admission into Conestoga College to study Construction management with coop (2 years program) Admitted for fall 2021. I deferred almost immediately to winter 2022 so as to enable me have enough time for researching on how best to submit a nice application (i have later realised that the success of this journey is in no way by my power, it's been Grace)

Prior to applying to Conestoga, I had gotten admission into Carleton uni for meng prog in civil Engr. I also had $25k loan from MPOWER financing for my offer at Carleton.

I was about preparing my visa doc when I stumbled on some posts on Nairaland emphasizing on coop opportunities. Since my offer at Carleton did not provide coop, I opted for Conestoga. This choice was also at the expense of losing the loan from MPOWER as they do not offer loan for pgd/pgc programs.

As a self sponsor, Frankrobbn advised that it's best to show pof of the total duration of study as against showing pof for first year only. Tuition is approximately 18kcad per year (36kcad for 2 years) + 20kcad for living expense for 2 years. Frankrobbn insisted that I show a pof greater than 56kcad for total duration of study.

This seemed impossible but God in his infinite mercy provided assistance as well as the wisdom to solve the challenge. Myself and Frankrobbn brainstormed on how best to tell a convincing story to the visa officer as follows;

I theoretically expanded my dads computer engineering firm to include a construction arm. Since this will not reflect in the cac document, I had to do some serious explanation in my sop. I deliberately did this to help strengthen my home tie further claiming that id return to fully manage the biz (just as most of us applicants would always say grin). I then compelled/convinced/forced/pressured/begged my dad to send me some money monthly (salary simulation) for 6 months (from Jan to June). Not that he was financially buoyant enough, God did His thing.

Employment

education

Special appreciation
First and foremost to God and my parents. My dad used to pray only on crossover night. The intensity of his prayers increased when I applied for my visa. My mum, she loves prayers more than her husband.

Frankrobbn of fandrglobal.com. Really, I can't stress how good he is, especially when it comes to telling stories and brainstorming ideas to convince the visa officer. Yes I paid for his service, I was more than willing to - considering the high number of success rates and testimonies shared all around by several applicants who have employed his service.

Other particular gurus on NL such as Ralphudoh, Chocs, Justmellow and Lekiboboe(now canadaboboe grin). These gurus helped in answering my tonnes of questions.

My bosses at work were so understanding and helpful. It's a peaceful feeling to have non toxic employers.

My friends Aminat (now at Cornell uni, New York), Mujib (uni of Toronto), Mubarak (uni of Alberta). These 3 idiotic geniuses helped me a lot on my SOP with corrections & proofreading's.

Lessons learnt in this journey
1. A cheerful giver will never lack. Showing good deeds has it's way of coming back to bless the giver in multiple folds.
2. Be hungry for knowledge, do a lot of research (homework). Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.
3. Having and developing a cycle of good friends have a powerful impact on ones intellect, financial and physical health.
4. God factor can never be overemphasized.

To all PPR hopefuls, God will grant you all your heart desires. To all approved applicants, may we all excel globally.

Good morning Nairaland Family. I have come to give back to the source that gave me hope on this journey since January 2021. Its PPR GUYS!!!!

*Long post Alert

I dedicate this testimony to God Almighty, the one who got times and season in his hands. Though it was a long wait, but it happened when it was meant to be.

October 2020, I decided to explore the study route after several attempt at EE and PNP with no success. Without robust knowledge and desperation, I had opted for a PGC instead of Masters (No Career Progression) at my first attempt cause i already had a masters which was declared.

First application (Self Sponsored)

Applied === January 31st 2021

School === Niagara College Ontario

Course === Intl Business Mgt (PGC)

NSE for MBS only ==== February 18th

Medical passed =====. March 2nd

Refusal and bvl. ====. May 5th 2021.

I left nairaland after this, as I was really down. I however contacted Mr. Frankrobbn1 of fandrglobal.com. He asked I ordered my notes and also get a Masters admission immediately while I wait for my notes. When my Gcms notes came out it revealed, I didn’t declare my former US refusal of which I was never refused a US visa. (I applied for Dropbox and they referred me for an interview. Checked for dates for almost 5months I never got one. Got tired in May 2019 and dropped the whole process. Now my GCMs revealed I was denied visa in 2018 without any refusal communication from US embassy. This was very embarrassing and annoying). All these I addressed in my 2nd application.

VO also had concerns about me leaving my kids; age 4&2. So Frank advised ire-applied with the 2years old this time as the 4years old and my husband served as ties back home. Financial asset, purpose of visit. All these were addressed by Frank (Doff my hat for this dude, e sabi work remain. He took my story like it was his and brought out a perfect script. The was he related my previous masters to the new program was so amazing). I got admission from UCW and UNB, both under 2weeks. Frank advised I go with UCW even though I desperately wanted UNB but after weighing certain options, I opted for UCW.

Second application timeline (Self sponsored)

Applied with all NSE==== June 30th

Program ==== MBA

School ==== UCW

Applied for my Notes Aug 6th, came back blank September 5th. It was obvious nothing was done then, The only thing I picked was that my secondary office was Lagos; I was excited about this as long as it’s not london.. lol. Decided not to apply for notes again till a decision came.

Started sending soft mails to Nairobi in August shortly after applying for my notes. Profile was still same as but however started classes online. This was a tough decision as my work in Lagos is really demanding but I struggled through it though with several days of Migraines... lol. It also took my mind off IRCC as I had several assignments and project deadlines to meet couple with my work. It really helped my mental sanity

PPR: November 19th. 2021.

God is faithful to his word and whatever He says he will do, He surely will

After 1 visit visa rejection, 1 study visa rejection... God has done

I am not a very active participant on this thread but I am almost always reading it. I have gotten my ppr and stamp passport and it took time before I asked my very first question. I think the thread is losing its value when people ask very very basic questions. Like reading this thread there is more than enough questions about 'how to I send my passport to abuja'. I remember the first time I came across this information I screnshot it and saved it because I knew I will need it. Are people not also doing this. I downloaded the consent form ages ago before ppr even dropped. But almost every week there is another 'please where can I get consent form'.
Every week there is a 'please what documents do I need for study permit thanks. I need a quick response'. How about going on canadas official website. How about reading the thread from the beginning, how about previous threads? This thread just started some months ago and its almost up to 600 pages with not much new information. We need to do better.
Well said! The thread is full of continuous repetition of what has already been addressed in the past threads. Its high time newbies and enquirers should sit up and read. I pray that everyone's goal of travelling to Canada come to fruition. Wishing you all the best.
