Okay, thanks. How long does it take CIC take to approve after medical requested and passed?
That nobody has an answer to. At most, 1-5weeks to get an approval.

Please, what's the likelihood for an applicant to be denied after medical requested and passed?

@Austinpee4 @jnyuwa02 @Frankrobbn1 @mcobex and every other guru(s)
From recent findings, it's rare. Getting a medical request and passed and later got refused took place last year, but I haven't come across such happening this year. They hardly deny an applicant nowadays after being called for medicals. Therefore, the likelihood of getting a refusal is significantly low.

Good point. ....

The school is ready to make 100% corrections if it emanate from there side....but please oooo how did school and Nysc make such a mistake with same name......am sure most of us are giving form to fill correctly in camp on how our name should be written on our nysc certificate....school will make correction if u go to them......then NYSC will be a long process....u can notarised the affidavit to back up your NYSC
My Madam!
Sure!Yes he is making a good point from his end. I know very well the applicant can present a notarized affidavit to tackle the both errors in his NYSC & Degree certificate and It's not a rule that the applicant must visit his previous university to effect a change in his name. Wait a minute, with the bolded words are you saying based on experience or presupposition? Changing a university degree certificate name isn't so easy as you thought it would be.

jnyuwa02:
Exactly my points said better! Imagine the questions you raised and many more this error can portend. I wouldn’t even put it past these CIC guys to start thinking he obtained someone’s result with a similar name and tried to change into his by doing an affidavit. I mean he obtained an admission in Canada with the certificate or transcript and didn’t see it fit to correct the error then but now? How did this error happen and why did he not correct going through the admission process until now? At least if he makes the move and correct name on cert by talking to the school now, all these questions will go away and affidavit to back up NYSC error might be acceptable. Cross all your “t” and dot all your “i”. Give these guys no ground for speculations. They are extremely suspicious of Nigerians.
Hehehe Attorney! grin, I hope you don't expect me to agree from your perspective! Are you insinuating that you haven't seen an applicant that submitted a sworn affidavit in support of the discrepancies in name and got approved? Why do you think the visa officer will use that against the applicant application? Since the applicant has gone ahead to present this to a notary public officer and proven to be authentic. I bet you that this won't be an issue in his application.

Edited: if the applicant can easily get his way in changing this errors with his previous institution. Then fine! If on the contrary he was unable to achieve this, a notarized affidavit will suffice.

Linsigne:
Which university in canada has low tuition fee, and im budgeting 1.9m will it be ok for processing .
Linsigne,

Check Memorial University of Newfoundland! They have tuition fee below your targeted budget. Visa application fee is 55-57K for paper route, while online applications cost 65-67K.
You also need to acquire a sponsor to support your application, presenting 1.9M will be insufficient as you will also need to put your first year living expenses of 10,000CAD equivalent = 2,850,000N.

All the best!

Thank you Frank, i do not have that much time for the case notes though i have requested. my program applied network infrastructure pst grad cert 2 years , previous degree bsc comp sc , 4 years exp in IT with another 4 years in Real estate sales . i will like to re integrate back to IT hence my choice of study . i have over 15 certifications in the IT industry but i have been out of the sector for 4 years and to properly integrate i have to update my learning
Vnjz,

You need to present a rational explanation to why you left the IT industry for the past 4 years and now wants to further your studies in the discipline of applied network infrastructure. The 15 certifications you've acquired in the IT industry will be of paramount assistance here to explain your intent to further in the IT field.
Write extensively to why the cost of your program is justifiable and warrants the cost and difficulty of undertaking a foreign education. Why you can't undergo this program in Nigeria since it will be less expensive here and reduces the financial burden on your sponsor, why you opted out for a PGC instead of a direct masters degree, How the program will be beneficial to you as an individual and to your prospects back home, the lucrativeness of this program in Nigeria after studies in Canada. Activate this and discuss them on your SOP and you will be fine.

If it was me, that what I would do, address the root of the problem, than stories that touch. It’s graduation certificates we are talking about. Very critical documents. Just my perspective.

Ps: He should talk to the school, you will be surprised with some effort, he can get it done quick. He can do an affidavit for the NYSC because that one might be prolonged.
I grab your point my attorney! Considering the applicant is heading for fall and the clock is fast ticking for his application submission. I see no problem If he submits a notarized affidavit to support his claims with his application, while he goes ahead with the names amendment from his school and NYSC.

I applied march 19th denied may 8 on purpose of visit , i have addressed their questions in a well detailed sop ,, questions is can i re-apply with all the previous documentations i used, are they still valid at this time. i will appreciate your response, help a sister out abeg
Vnjz,

Purpose of visit as a generic reason for refusal is always broad and can be tackled when you get to set your eyes on your CAIPS file
So, I'll help a sister by advising her to order for her GCMS note before re-applying.

Why a temporary solution than the problem taking care of once and for all. If he can approach his school to change the error in name or certificate and also NYSC, should be a permanent solution to the problem and avoid any doubts or problems from CIC.
Attorney! And you think this would be done in a haste? Do you know the rigorous process he has to undergo and the huge cost involved prior he can change his first degree certificate and NYSC name?
It's not an easy task as you thought. In a situation like this, a well written notarized affidavit explaining the discrepancies of name will be the best for now and will be acceptable by the visa officer.

Good evening and well-done to everyone out here who has been supporting others,Pls can someone send me a sample of SOP so I can work with it,I am just about to apply by first week of June. Thanks

I also want to ask that is SOP compulsory because it was not listed among the requires documents in kine
holubukola,

Madam, there are few samples of SOP at the beginning of this thread, I beg you to check page 0 of this thread you will find some. Also, you can get so many through www.google.com. But beware of plagiarism while picking some points from the internet.
Sure! SOP is not compulsory but necessary. Because we have some records of few applicants that didn't include an SOP in their application and got approved, while some were rejected.
With the present situation on ground, SOP/LOE is very important when it comes to Canada study visa. I'll advise you include them in your application as it will further buttress your study gaps, why the program, why you choose Canada and not Nigeria, your home ties, financial establishment and after study plan (career goals) and prospects in Nigeria.
Finally a well written SOP does wonders in your application and can land you a visa approval.

Please does anyone knows which school accept tuition fee on arrival for pgd applicant who want to study business administration
bbclue,

I guess I came across such school today while browsing through the internet. Oh! Unfortunately, I was unable to lay my hands on the school. undecided
But for real, it's difficult to find such school that offers PGD in the discipline of Business administration and pays upon arrival. Most schools will require an applicant to pay at least a tuition deposit or an acceptance fee. You can as well extend this question to www.quora.com or www.google.com grin grin grin

@Frankrobbn1

I am in this shoes because that is what really broke the camels back for me. I quit in january after I wasn't granted simple permission to go take my ielts exam. My director gave me an ultimatum to either go or stay. Any other way of tackling it?

Meanwhile i'm looking for alternatives to tackle ur earlier suggestions.
chisiudeh,

My earlier suggestion regarding your current employment situation will be your best bet here. I advise you go in search of that. You can't present to a Visa officer that you quit your source of livelihood since January till date all in the name of sitting for an IELTS test that doesn't take a candidate up to a month to prepare for the exam and come out with flying colors.

Thanks

Online applications - You will get a passport request to submit your passport for stamping at the VFS. While,

Paper applications - Your passport of which you submitted along side with your application, will be dispatched to you, while you pick it up at the VFS.

Hope understood!

thanks alot.....i have an issue with my university certificate and nysc certificate. My middle name was spelt wrongly on both instead of Udoh, they omitted the h and spelt it Udo. Should I be bothered?
jnyuwa02:
If the names are spelt wrongly from the name on your passport, you should go and rectify the names on your certificate and NYSC. Otherwise, go and do your passport in the name on your certificate and NYSC . You dont want CIC thinking you burrowed someone’s certificate with almost similar names like yours.
Attorney! A sworn and notarized affidavit clearly stating the discrepancies of names on his documents/certificates will do well in his case. The bolded words shouldn't be the best suggestion at this point in time.

Thank you. Please is it acceptable if my living expenses are in naira equivalent? And i present my bank statement? because we cant seem to find an exchange to pay d money into my dorm account.
Jewel80,

Of course yes! It's acceptable! So many successful TRV applicants didn't exchange funds into a domicilary account and got approved. It's left for you to certify the visa officer that the funds in the said naira bank account will be accesible by you and available during your stay in Canada and you will get your visa approved as well.

gerrymini:
Noted. So what do you advise? can I say self-employed since I already have a registered business even though it is not in operation?
gerrymini,

This is more realistic and credible! In this case, it's more better you claim that this business is running and try as much as possible to show some funds in your name. Again, make sure the activities of this business shows a natural progression with your proposed program in Canada.

@Frankrobbn1

I am facing a similar challenge although, I intend to say that I resigned my job to study for my IELTS (which I did) and prepare ahead for studies in Canada. Do you think this will fly?
gerrymini,

Resigning from your place of work just for the sake of sitting for an IELTS test and preparing for your studies in Canada is not justifiable.
Reasons why I said its not justifiable is because people combine their job, sit for an IELTS test, prepare for their studies abroad and at the end they achieve their purpose without leaving their respective places of work. Why should you then resign all in the name of travelling to Canada when you haven't secured your TRV? That's a question you need to answer. I hope you don't intend presentating the above, because it's unreasonable.

@Frankrobbn1

Can one also submit CAC doc for a business name registered in 2013 but not yet in operation to address family ties?
gerrymini,

Yes you can! A registered business is a strong tie to your application, whether running or not. Simply, explain on your SOP/LOE that you've a registered biz back home and you will be coming back to continue managing it. Provide all evidence on file.

Hello House,
Please who has had an experience with Niagara college, I just received my admission letter to study human resources management (1year graduate course).
In the letter, it was not stated whether I need to make an initial deposit kind of. It was only stated that I should confirm my acceptance before so so date with no conditions attached to the offer of admission. And that I will need a study permit prior to the start of the program.
Lastly, I studied finance and all my past work experiences have been all finance related. Now I am changing pata-pata.
Pls advice oo
Thebushboy is actually correct! The bolded words already flags your application to be refused based on purpose of visit. Why changing to a program that is not reasonable inlight with your previous studies and current professional career (job role)? That's a big hurdle for you!

Advice: Simply go back and secure an admission that is related to finance, then apply for your visa.

It's no problem.
I quit my last job in january that i've been there for the past 2 years plus because there was no pay but stipends for transport fare. Promises have been made about paying salary. So I was more or less volunteering.
1. How do I put this as part of my employment history considering as I presently don't have any active job now.
chisiudeh,
Considering that you've already quit your current job as at January and you've not been working since then. CIC wants to know what you've been doing for the past 10years till date. Presenting to them on file that you don't have something doing for the past 5 months since you last left your previous job, you're indirectly asking them to refuse your application based on
1-) Current employment situation,
2-) Limited employment prospects in country of residence.
3-) Personal assests and financial status and
4-) Purpose of visit.
To avoid this, It will be best you include the details of your previous employment while filling the IMM1294 form and also try acquire a new employment letter from a company to cover your 5 months gaps that will be directly related to your intended program.

All the best!
