joe10:joe10, I am sorry about the outcome of your visa application. Please pardon me that I was unable to answer your questions on time, I have been so busy lately and I find it very difficult to answer questions that are thrown in here. I only do so, at my convenient time. To add to what Hisignature has just said, Looking closely at your profile, the Visa officer is not after your financial sufficiency, either the visa officer has doubt about your return back home after studies. As I always say on this reputable forum, payment of upfront tuition is not a prerequisite to Visa approval. As stated by CIC applicants are expected to show proof of funds for their first year of studies at their respective bank accounts and show willingness to pay when the need arises. There was no time CIC instructed an applicant to complete an upfront tuition before visa application. Applicants that do so, only do that at their own expense, while others pay because it's a request from their institution to pay a required (compulsory) amount of tuition deposit, in order to reserve a space for them(acceptance fee). Hence, since your school is not asking you to pay tuition, you don't have to complete an upfront tuition. You may decide to pay tuition only if you were denied on the bases of insufficient funds, just to prove to the visa officer that you've the funds available. So back to business, If I may ask you Sir, What's the duration of your proposed program in Canada? Is your intended degree program higher/lower than your already completed degree program in Nigeria? These are factors you need to also put into consideration. To your questions: 1-) As long as this ICAN syllabus list will further buttress your study intent and give reasons for your return back home, I'll advise you include them in your next application. 2-) Provide little explanations on how your wife and kids tends to cope while you are away for studies, a rental income is fine. Add documents to evident this fact to be true. 3-) In as much as you did an upfront medicals along side your previous refused application, you don't need to undergo another medical test again. Simply include the E-medical slip that was issued to you at the hospital where you completed the previous medical test to your next application. The Visa officer will quickly use the UMI number that is located at the beneath of the medical slip to track your medical result and update it to your Mycic account. Furthermore, be guided that your next visa application will start afresh and will undergo the normal processing. There are high possibility that a new visa officer will review your next application, so go ahead and include relavant documents that will portray you as a genuine student that will leave Canada after studies. 4-) A bank statement is valid for 3-4weeks (1-month) at the time of visa application submission. Thus, in your case, it's advisable you obtain an updated statement for your next visa application that ends in July 2018. Above all, to be able to convince the visa officer lies solely on your efforts towards putting up a rational SOP. It shall end in praises in your next application! All the best! |
Jewel80:Jewel80, Nice question to ask! As we all know, CIC clearly states that sponsor's are required to provide proof of adequate finances only for the first year of study. Yet, applications often get rejected after presenting a huge bank statement of 21M because the visa officer suspected financial insufficiency. Thus, only focusing on the first year as stated by CIC may not be sufficient. Ideally, the father (sponsor) can increase the applicant chances of getting an approval by showing proof of adequate finances for more than 1-year, even though this was not expressly indicated by CIC as being the requirement for a study permit. Therefore, CIC puts into consideration the sponsor (father) probability of being able to fund the applicant future years of study in Canada. The number of factors CIC will look at to be sure that there are high probability of future funding are namely: 1-) The father's employment/business and financial resources (earnings). 2-) The father's willingness and motivation to support the applicant (son), which boils down to the rationality nature of the sponsor's letter of sponsorship. 3-) The father's financial establishment e:g investments, landed properties, building's, shares etc.. in home country. 4-) The applicant access to the stated 21M bank statement in the father's account. 5-) Additionally, If it's a company account, a cover letter from the bank will suffice, indicating that the sponsor is the sole signatory to the account. I hope the above goes a long way to provide clarity to your question. Feel free to ask more, If the need arises. Thank you! |
Bieber78:Bieber78, Sorry about the outcome of your application brother. From the GCMS note you shared, the Visa officer is clearly pointing at your SOP. First, simply start by explaining why your proposed program in Canada is reasonable considering the high cost of international students and difficulty of undertaking a foreign education i.e why leaving your family members for a very long period of time in pursuit of academic excellence. Why you decide to complete this course of study in Canada rather than Nigeria, that would not warrant paying exorbitant international students fee. Secondly, present a justifiable reasons to why you should leave Canada at the completion of your studies. Here your home ties comes into play, Absence of adequate ties to your home country can impact chances adversely as this may raise doubts on your intent to return home after completing your studies. Putting into consideration that you're still at a very young age 19years old, having an established family in your home country with ownership of properties and other assets will be sufficient to prove family ties. Explain extensively how your intended program will be of paramount benefit to you as a person, to your family business (how you decide to take up the business to a preeminent height in the nearest future) and also how it will be of good impact to your nation as a whole. Do the above in your next application and you will smile with victory. All the best! |
lummy11:lummy11, At this juncture, what will work best is paying up your full tuition and having funds in a dorm account for your first year living expenses, this will go a long run in addressing insufficient available funds. Also, let your dad state how much he that will be made available for you, per each academic year in his affidavit of sponsorship. Lastly, I won't advise you to reapply by August against September resumption, taking into account the 9 weeks processing times for Nigerian applicants. Doing so, you're indirectly asking them to refuse your application. What most people don't seem to understand is that, whenever you apply late for study permit, there are high tendency of getting a refusal because you're not giving them enough time to process your study permit application. The ideal time is applying early or at least 3-4 months before school resumption, giving them enough time to process your visa. Therefore, going for winter will help your case. This is my advise for you! All the best! |
MrsDaniels:Madam, It's safe you private chat me. |
MichyEhi:MichyEhi, Have your application passed the normal processing times for Nigerian applicants? If yes, send a Case specific Enquiry to the London visa office since you submitted through online, using the IRCC web form and your application will be processed speedily. All the best! |
lummy11:lummy11, You can apply for your visa by August/september, you must not wait till next year before you can do that. All the best! |
HiSignature:Well spoken HiSignature, To the above bolded, I still doubt if a university will write a letter on behalf of a student to CIC to expedite the student visa application. I only know of a supervisor writing a letter on behalf of a student stating the student research study purpose, of which it will be included among the other supporting documents by the student during application submission. On the other hand, CIC only confirms the authenticity of the student acceptance letter. When this is done, CIC has no business initiating with the university to confirm the student supporting documents before a visa can be issued, in as much as the school has no idea on the type of documents the student included during the visa application submission. At this juncture, asking the school will be of no use to CIC. |
rasheedolalekan:rasheedolalekan, For directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of this Act :When this is found as the main generic reason for your visa refusal, it's likely a ban. Sir/Ma, I think there is more to this refusal of yours, a visa officer couldn't have issued you a ban just because there are slight age discrepancies in your WAEC result and International Passport. I want to believe that the age on your Int'l passport is your official age, which can be seen on every other documents you submitted along side with your application. The only error here was on the WAEC certificate. I'll like to let you know that before a ban is issued to an applicant there is always a Procedural fairness letter that will be sent to your CIC account/email. This fairness letter is a procedural step CIC is required to take before they refuse an application, which is stated by the Canadian law that any applicant found in mispresentation should be given a chance to explain themselves before a decision will be executed by the Visa officer in charge of the application. If this letter was sent to you requesting for something, then they are simply asking for something to be clarified and of course they want to hear from you and if you accurately expressed yourself in a truthful, clear and sensible manner, the Visa officer couldn't have issued you a ban just for the fact that the age on your WAEC certificate didn't tally with that of your int'l passport. These people for sure are humans and they have minds to think and hearts to feel about every case brought before them.... I am sorry but I strongly doubt if this was the main reason for issuing you a ban. If I may ask, were you the one that applied for this visa? Did you sort help from any agent? |
swisster:swisster, I believe by now they must have started your background checks. Sorry that the biometrics is taking forever, sometimes there is often a delay in dispatching the letters, but be rest assured that soon you will get a mail on your email stating that there is an update in your CIC account. When that is done, quickly login into your CIC account, scroll down and check the account messages you will find the biometrics letter lying there. All the best! |
UGODDAY:UGODDAY, Spending the rest of life without having plans on returning after studies won't be feasible for a study permit to Canada, in as much as the major requirements of a study permit is to prove to the visa officer beyond reasonable doubt that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay. Therefore, using study permit as a means to abscond into Canada won't be an advisable route, considering that cost of studies for international students in Canada. I'll advise you go through Express entry, this is a pathway for easy relocation to Canada without having to pay exorbitant international students fee. All the best! |
monisola001:monisola001, Your best bet here is applying for a 3 years Pgd business administration, it shows a career progression for you. All the best! |
mcobex:Happy Birthday my sure bro mcobex! |
whyx06:whyx06, Which of the dipolma certificate program are we talking about here? Do you mean PGD/PGC? If no!, Are you referring to ordinary dipolma for fresh high school graduates?. If yes?, I'll advise that if you aren't a fresh high school graduate don't waste your visa application fee by applying with an ordinary dipolma offer that last for 2 years. You are better off applying for a bachelor's degree which goes a long run to prove to the visa officer that you're a genuine student who wants to enhance his/her career prospects back home. Going with an ordinary dipolma program you will be seen as not a genuine student who is using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada. All the best! |
vikmeek:On this reputable thread, we have seen so many cases of agents using fraudulent bank statements for an applicant study visa application. Giving the applicant safe guarantees that the Canadian high commission will not get hold on of the cooked/faked bank statement. Which at the end when caught in such act, the applicant will be found inadmissible to Canada and will be issued a 5 year ban as the case maybe. Leaving the poor applicant with a broken heart. Therefore, I won't advise you to make use of any agent, most especially when it comes in the aspect of providing bank statements for you. There are so many agents out there that are seeking for whom to devour and bury their TRV approval. I best suggest you should look around for someone that is buoyant, financially stable that will represent as your sponsor, while you pay up your bills yourself, most importantly paying an upfront tuition as a means of showing commitment from your sponsor. All the best! |
holubukola:holubukola, Yes it's very possible and achievable! As a matter of fact going for a PhD in Canada after the successful completion of a Master's degree in UK shows an academic progression for you. Endeavor to make sure that there are strong correlation between your previous studies and your intended program. Also, it might interest you to know that most Phd offers in Canada comes with funding, so you stand a chance of getting a full funding from so many prestigious Universities in Canada. In conclusion, going with hubby and 2 kids, you need to show 4KCAD for adult dependant and 3KCAD for each children dependants whom are accompanying you to Canada. All the best! |
sanjay01:sanjay01, 1-) In your previous refused application did you include documents to evident your current employment situation like: Employment letters, introductory letters from employer, work ID, pay stubs etc..? It's better you return to Nigeria and reapply for your study permit. You were denied based on current employment situation, because the Visa officer believes by now you should be gainfully employed and have something meaningful doing for a living. How did you prove your employment with your hubby's company?? Is your hubby's company in Nigeria or Malaysia? Furthermore, I found out that your current job role is not reasonable inlight with your proposed program in Agriculture. Working as an assistant financial officer in a company doesn't show a logical progression with your intended program in Canada (Agriculture). These are one of the things that attributed to your refusal, there are no trace of career progression. If you check closely from your refusal letter you will notice that you were also refused based on course correlation not showing progression. 2-) Your SOP should help provide clarity on your personal assets and financial status, how does your husband properties link to you?, you're expected to explain further on this. Additionally, Do you have any property/assests in your name? e.g..... landed properties, business assets, investments, shares certificates etc... Considering your hubby owns a company, are you among his share holders (board of directors) in his company?, How did you present this in your SOP matters alot and goes a long way in addressing in justifying your claims. I hope to get some answers from you, before I proceed further. |
MrsDaniels:MrsDaniels, Since you're the main sponsor here and the principal applicant, accompanying dependant doesn't need to tender an SOP. |
sanjay01:sanjay01, Sorry about your refusal. The major reasons for your refusal was based on purpose of visit and Immigration status in country of residence.. Going through your profile, I noticed that you're heading for a second masters degree in Canada. How was your SOP like, was there any justifiable reasons to why you're going for a second masters degree in Canada at this stage in life instead of a Phd to show progression. Your SOP will go a long run to tackle your purpose of visit and intent to study. Immigration status in country of residence: If you're not holding a work permit or a study permit in Malaysia, you don't have the legal status to apply for a student visa to Canada from there. You will always be denied if you keep trying to apply from Malaysia. You would be better off leaving Malaysia and applying from outside of Canada (i.e Nigeria). You have a higher chance of approval if you apply from your home country. The rest of the refusal grounds current employment situation, personal assets and financial status can be tackled using this medium THE REST OF YOUR REFUSAL GROUNDS All the best! |
aybee4991:After medicals it takes 3-4 working days to be updated as "MEDICAL PASSED" on the My CIC account. |
Goldenegg: HiSignature:A guided one from HiSignature. Sure, you can apply and change your status from visitor to student while you are in Canada. However, your chances of getting an approval is slim. In as much as one of the major conditions of being approved for a study permit is to show that you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans whatsoever on remaining in Canada after studies. If you are already in Canada on a visiting visa, it will be more difficult to prove ties to your home country. Once refused within Canada, it also lowers your chances of getting an approval when you apply from your home country because you have violated the terms and conditions imposed on your visiting visa by attempting to change your status to a study visa. You would be better off leaving Canada and applying from outside of Canada (Nigeria). You have a higher chance of approval if you apply from your home country, because it is much more easier to show ties to your home country and a plus to your application, in the sense that you have demonstrated to the visa officer that you were on a visiting visa to Canada but have to return back to your home country to apply for a study permit, which adds more credibility to your study permit application and further evidence that you will abide to the terms and conditions of your study permit when issued to you. People who apply within Canada, don't apply directly inside Canada at Vegreville, They have to travel all the way from Canada to the US (Los Angeles) to apply for a study permit. Most often, these are students who have completed a short term program like ESL/FSL while on a visiting visa to Canada and then decide to further for a higher studies(a degree). Cc: Goldenegg All the best! |
aybee4991:aybee4991, Your profile by now should to be indicating "MEDICAL PASSED". Calm down okay! Try getting in touch with the hospital where you completed your medical test, to be sure if they have sent your medical result to CIC. But, I think they should have done that long ago. |
geotherm:geotherm, Firstly, After scanning your documents, start compressing each and every one of them using Microsoft office picture manager, compress the quality of each document by clicking on Edit Pictures option which can be found on the top bar. Then select Compress for: documents. After which, you then merge all this documents using smallpdf.com, and compress it again using smallpdf.com. You will get your documents quality within the range of 2.55MB-3MB leaving them with an original outlook. Good luck! |
MrsDaniels:MrsDaniels Hello Ma, This question of yours has already been answered before regarding the documents you and your hubby(spouse) needs to submit. CHECK THIS Also, you can quickly chat up with the VFS officals to inquire if the common law form is mandatory to be filled. |
goingforward:Yes. Its normal and it happens most often with online applications. |
bbclue:He was actually a full funded student of USASK. God was so merciful in his application. So, those etc... was overlooked by the Visa officer. |
swisster:67,500k-68,500k |
Trondevices: mcobex:@ Trondevices, your query has been answered. |
Prudento:I am a living witness to this shocking and undiluted testimony! It's totally true! Congratulations prudento! God's speed!!! Your God is indeed alive! |
HerMoney:Yes! You need to sign a consent form and resend it for the person to order the case file on your behalf. |
reichwolf:None has an added advantage to your application. From the look things, it seems like paper route applications gets fast response from the embassy. |
nivlek000:Silk07, was actually correct! The validity of your passport determines the length of the visa that will be issued to you. But, if the validation date of your passport is below 6 months, you will be asked to tender a new passport before a visa will be issued to you. |

. I don't really know what it means but a week before the refusal the school applied to sent me a message to justify the difference in the age on my passport and waec result. Because there was a mistake on the date of birth on my waec results. Please help I want reapply but I don't know how to correct the age difference of my documents.
