FKBZ:FKBZ, As I said earlier, considering you're a self sponsored applicant, you're expected to have funds for the entire period of your stay in Canada. You confirmed previously that your school of choice tuition fees for a year is = $19,000. Following CIC rule, you must also have an additional $10,000 for your first year living expenses. Therefore, In your case you need to present 19,000 + 10,000= $29,000X2 = $58,000 equivalent 16.3M in naira at your disposal, that's If your program takes two years to be completed. You stand a chance if you show funds in excess, at least an addition of $5,000 plus the above figure mentioned, to prove your personal financial status to cater for your studies in Canada. Of course yes! Your job is okay, for as much as you truly want to relocate to Canada and you're a graduate with many years of working experience, I suggest you go through the Express entry pool as it will be the best option for you here than going through a study visa route. Simply extend to this thread using the link: https://www.nairaland.com/4472519/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/102 endeavor to read through the previous EE threads, inorder to catch up with the process, prior asking them questions. Also, use the below link to calculate your CRS score to know your fate: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp Currently, the EE draw as at this month is 441, Who knows? you might be lucky to attain a great score. To your last question, Be guided that the length of your program has alot to do with your visa application, if you apply for a visa with a short program, you need to justify your reasons for going for such duration of program in Canada because the Visa officer will be wondering why you choose not to undertake similar programs available here in Nigeria at a cheaper rate and at last, you will be tagged as not a genuine student who is using study permit as a means to abscond into Canada. Finally, securing a job while in Canada depends solely on your efforts and zeal to get one. All the best! |
BoystoMen:BoystoMen, Was your proposed program reasonable inlight with your previous education/job role?, were you able to link them on a rational letter of explanation?. More so, from the list of documents provided by you, I can't find an SOP/LOE that will explain the following to the visa officer: 1-) Academic and career profile. 2-) Why the program of choice. 3-) The school of choice. 4-) Why Canada and not Nigeria considering the high cost of foreign education. 5-) Financial provisions, how you intend to finance your studies while in Canada. 6-) Home ties in Canada and country of residence, what can compel your return home after studies. 7-) Future/career goals, What you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you in future and to your home country Nigeria. You don't need to worry showing any property in your name, as your hubby whom will be staying back in Nigeria is a very strong tie to your application, it's left for you to address this issue on your SOP/LOE for the visa officer to understand as they are not custodians of knowledge. It's fantastic to see you've successfully ordered for your CAIPS file, we will take it up from there upon the arrival of this note. Once again, sorry about the outcome of your last visa application. It shall end in praises next time! |
FKBZ:FKBZ, No! It's extremely difficult to raise 19,000$ while working part time (20 hours per week) during school sessions and full time (40 hours) during school breaks. You will still need an assistance from your sponsor to cater for your tuition, while you take care of your personal needs (house rents, feeding, transportation, books and all other living expenses) which is no joke in Canada, most especially your house rents which goes between the range of ($350- 700$ per month). Another big challenge is that getting a job as a first timer in Canada is very difficult, as most employers in Canada seek for employees with Canadian working experience before employing them. Many immigrants have this mindset that immediately they arrive Canada, they find a job straight up waiting for them... No! No!! It's not done. Most often you might be lucky to get a little paid jobs upon your arrival only if you've a friend or close relatives whom are already residing in Canada before you came in and will be of paramount assistance to help attach you somewhere for the main time while you go in search for a better paid jobs. Even as that, it's still not easy anyway. Endeavour to have this at back of your mind before travelling to Canada, so you don't get pissed off with what you see when you successfully land in CANADA. Lastly, being a self sponsored applicant you need to show funds at your disposal for the entire period of your stay in Canada. All the best! |
LadyW:LadyW, That's not true! All paper applications can't be processed in Lagos. The irony of this is that some paper applications are taken to Nairobi and Accra Visa Office to be processed in order to facilitate the visa processing time. Besides, the lagos visa office started handling study permit applications as at the beginning of this year. Online applications can be treated in any part of the world, be it Turkey, London, Kenya and Accra. Recent findings indicates that most online applications are treated at Turkey, Nairobi or London. But that doesn't implies that it can't be transferred to any country of their choice, cic are unpredictable. Do your best and leave the rest to God. |
LadyW:LadyW, With the recent findings of different visa offices processing study permit applications for Nigerian applicants, It's best you address your letters to: The Visa officer, Deputy High Commission of Canada, 4 Anifowoshe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. |
Setemiola:Get all required documents from the link attached and endeavour to download the updated Acrobat adobe reader inorder to gain access to the IMM1294E form. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/student.asp?countrySelect=NG#applications |
DRiches:DRiches, No Sir! That was not what I meant. Considering he's a co-sponsor and not available to mention/write the number of his depanadants on his letter of sponsorship. You can go ahead and submit your application. Make sure your main sponsor list out her own dependants on the letter of sponsorship and affidavit of support. |
eerdesh:eerdesh, Sorry for the outcome of your application. What could your refusal grounds be? Use the below link to order for your CAIPS FILE: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en |
darryjay16:Answer to question 2, 3 and 4. 2-) It's advisable to go with the coloured email copy of the CAQ and original (if the need arises). 3-) You need Employment letters, introductory letter, 3- months payslips, ID card. 4-) Considering you work and earn salary every month end, you need to show funds in your name no matter how small it is. The essence of this is to show your personal financial establishment. Therefore, include a 3-4months for yourself. |
kobyfresh:kobyfresh, No one here can tell how long your application will stay after being called for medicals. Some takes a longer time to be approved, while others a week or so. Be hopeful, your approval is on its way. |
Setemiola:Setemiola, Is this bank statement within 4 weeks? If not get an updated bank statement. |
lummy11:lummy11, Sorry for the outcome of your application. Can you shed more light on your intended program, level of education, previous studies, job role and the reasons stated on your refusal letter. Quickly order for your gcms note as this will further give clarification on what went wrong on your refused application: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en |
DRiches:DRiches, You're not expected to do that on your SOP. Your sponsor can equally mention the number of depanadants he/she has on the affidavit of support. In as much as this is a co-sponsor and not the main sponsor, you can go ahead and submit your application. |
Daacorpaapi:Your profile is very strong to land you a TRV Approval! Make sure your SOP and LOE is convincing to an extent. All the best! |
drhammed:Where is the question? If you have lived outside your home country for period of 6 months and above. You're expected to specify them and select YES. If you haven't the answer is NO. The question is simply asking for your Travel history. |
Lotusboi:Wow! This is great. Lotusboi Well-done! |
Ilerioluwa123:You need to excerise patience okay. No one here has answer to the processing time after an applicant has been called for medicals. Be patient and rest assured your application is 95.5% close to approval. |
jnyuwa02:How is it a waste of space?, while there are many out there that submitted both letters and got their visa approved. Some applicants may decide to use the SOP to explain their study intent while the LOE to address the concerns of the visa officer regarding the reasons that was raised on their GCMS Note. I wonder why you say is a waste of space. Well, I advise applicants to submit both letters only if the points presented on each are categorically discussing a separate matter, and not coinciding with each other. if an applicant does not have much points to give in the second letter, it's better to stick to one. I don't see it as a waste if you have tangible points to give on both letters. However LOE, LOI, SOP, are all same thing, it's the content of the letter that makes a difference in them. |
jnyuwa02:Boss! The bolded is the best for Klausmike. Since he is trying to switch from MBA to an accelerated bachelor's degree. A degree that is way lower to his previous intended program, it's better he gets into Canada first before switching. My advise! |
nalizzzy:Total your tuition fee and annual living expenses of 10,000CAD. Your sponsor should have X2 of the total amount as available balance. |
KlausMike:KlausMike, In your case, i best advise you get into Canada first and your visa stamped before notifying CIC about the change, since you're going for an academic program that is lower to your previous intended program. While in Canada, you can change freely without restrictions. |
Omonjoe:Recent findings shows that it's rare for an applicant to be called for medicals by cic and end up getting refused. Your friend needs to excercise some patience, the application is 95.5% sure of approval. |
ebimila:ebimila, Good! Since you've already acquired acceptance letter from the new institution, simply notify CIC of the new change of institution. You can email your previous institution of the change and provide evidence through your cic account, you mustn't go to the school physically prior letting them know about the change. To notify CIC of the change, simply create a CIC account if you applied through paper route and link your application online and if online route, you can continue with your cic account. It's very easy! If you don't have the details of your visa application, request for your details from your your Agent. Follow the instructions in this link to change your institution: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/change-schools/account.html |
ebimila:ebimila, You need to inform CIC pertaining your change of institution, endeavour to have already enrolled and secured an acceptance letter from the new institution where you're currently heading. Once your TRV is approved, you can change to any institution of your choice, you mustn't wait until your study permit is stampped on your passport before doing that. Use the below link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/change-schools/account.html Yes! You can get refund of fees from previous institution but there will be an administrative fee attached to this like 1000$. |
myelims:myelims, It won't pose to be a problem to your application as the embassy has a way of knowing the authenticity of the bank statement without your knowledge from the bank and if they are not satisfied with the bank statement, they might request for an updated one. Go ahead with your application submission. All the best! |
wasiubello:wasiubello, If you seize not to mention your HND certificate, and eventually your visa application got refused, you can't add this HND certification again to your next visa application. As all informations that was filled on the IMM1294 study permit form has a barcode which CIC stored on their database and when altered, you will be charged for misrepresentation. Any decision you make now, is what you will continue with. Have this at the back of your mind. Also, going for Bsc at the age of 24, you need to provide a rational letter of explanation stating your study gaps since you last left highschool or any technical school. What have you been doing since then til date. Make it precise and straight forward for the visa officer to understand. Again, Explaining your study gaps will be tough for you because you have decided to conceal the fact that you already have an HND certification. But if you can.... then fine! More so, without having discrepancies in your names, going for a bachelor's degree in Canada having successfully completed an HND certification shows no logical progression and you will be seen as a potential immigrant that is using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada rather than educational advancement. To save you the stress and heartbreaks. My overall advise here is that you present your HND certificate and apply for a PGD admission and get an affidavit explaining the name discrepancies on your certificate. With this, you have a higher chance of securing a TRV. All the best! |
Omonoba1981:Omonoba1981, Don't be frightened by the B3 grade indicated on the University Admission requirement webpage. If you score C6 in English, it's also acceptable. Try sending an email to the admission office to know if you stand a chance of securing Admission with a D7 in English. Most especially, The University of Winnipeg. |
Omonoba1981:Omonoba1981, With your age (18) going for remedial program of this kind works, as I have seen students of your age bracket (17-19) travelling to Canada for a pre-university studies and got their visa approved. But to save cost and time, the way out here is to gently rewrite GCE or wait patiently for the outcome of your TOEFL Exam since you've already registered for the exam. I won't advise you to spend so much for a pre-university studies in Canada considering you have similar programs available here in Nigeria. |
tall2ce:tall2ce, Novice someday turn out to be professionals. Q1) it is required of your sponsor to have your tuition, living expenses and extra funds left for his/her personal life, business and immediate family members. For example, if your tuition is 10,000CAD, cic living expenses is always 10,000CAD plus micellenous (Flight ticket) 3,000CAD. Your annual expenses will amount to 23,000CAD. In this case, your sponsor needs to show funds for the 23,000CAD + extra 20,000CAD. Total available balance of sponsor = 43,000CAD. You stand a better chance if your sponsor available funds exceeds the above example. Q2) You're not expected to sit for an English test prior securing admission into Canadian universities. Simply get a cover letter from your previous institution stating that all lessons were carried out with English language. meanwhile, IELTS test fee is = 68K Naira. Q3) Yes once your TRV application is refused, you can defer your admission to the next available term. Simply request for a deferment from your university and a new acceptance letter will be issued to you without hassles. All the best! |
Solarmila:I saw your pm. I'll respond to your questions accordingly. |
Ratawu:Ratawu!, Excuse me to tell you why that approach "PRAYER IS THE KEY" may fail you... I know of some people that applied for visa to Canada and got it without prayers, while there are many out there that prayed tirelessly but end up getting refused. I am sorry but I am not underestimating the power of prayers. Of course yes! God answers prayers!. What I am simply saying is that... A lot of people believe that prayer is the master key. But prayer is not the master key. Prayer is one of the master keys. Prayer alone does not get things done with God; that’s the truth. For example, you are asking God to give you money and the Word of God makes us realise that once we pray, He answers us. Then you sit back in your house, waiting for money to drop on your laps. You are not likely to ever get the money. If you ask God for money, God has answered your prayers. It is now your responsibility to take a STEP on how the money will come. As a Christian we pray and fast for something great to happen in our lives upon which you have to take a step on that which you're believeing God for to manifest. If you are believeing God for visa, take a step by putting up an upright and sincere visa application that can land you an approval and let the will of God be done. To sum it up... Ladies and gentlemen "PRAYER IS NOT THE MASTER KEY UNTIL YOU TAKE A STEP" Shalom! |
Solarmila:Your hubby will apply for SOWP (spousal open work permit) once you have successfully secured your TRV. |
