Guys this is a copy of my refusal note..please what could dey mean by trying to locate my dads company via open sources but no hint... His company was registered in 2006 in CAC and d document was also submitted
Kemdy97,

Yes the Canadian visa officers run through CAC website to know if the presented company is truly a genuine and a registered one under CAC. They might have searched for your dads company name and were unable to find it. That was why the issue was raised on your GCMS File.

Kindly, use the link below to check, if your dad business name appears on the offical CAC website: simply input the business name and it will pop up.

Hello Frankrobbn1, austinpee4, Ratawu, mcobex, bbclue

I just came across a preparatory course for ACCA students at Toronto School of Management. It is not a degree but it's duration is over 9 months. Total tuition is about $5100 CAD. I can pay a $1500 deposit for the first semester. Their entry sessions are in September and March. I already have a Bsc Accounting (Nigeria), MSc Forensic Accounting (United kingdom). I have no work experience in my field. Though I am ACCA part qualified.
I have the following questions please:
1. What are my chances for a PR through this route?
2. Where will I get information on the exchange rate to use and can I receive student exchange rate from the CBN?
3. How much should I budget as annual living allowance for bank account balance?
4. How much time will I get to work after my programme?
5. How easy or difficult is it to find a minimum wage job there? In the UK, it took me about 6 months to get a sales advisor role at Sainsbury's. I was working part time and schooling full time. I am wondering what the situation in Canada is.
6. As per the medicals, what are they looking for? If I have a chronic illness like asthma, will it affect my chances?
7. What is the going rate for flights to Canada?

Thank you in advance.
OvaSabi1,

Having a MSc and Bsc and going to Canada for a 9 months program that is not a degree won't fly here. Go for a degree that is higher than your already completed degree, which is a Phd to show a logical progression. Going for a second masters degree in Canada that is directly related to your previous studies will also fly with justifiable reasons backed up with facts to why you opted out for a masters degree in Canada instead of a Phd at that point in time.

Answers:
1-) Your purpose of visit will be questioned by the visa officer if you plan using the 9 months non degree as your intended program. Also, After the completion of studies in Canada, student is eligible to apply for a post graduate work permit, upon which after 2-3years depending on your program, you can then apply for a permanent residence in Canada.

2-) You can use www.oanda.com for your exchange rate and yes you can recieve PTA from your bank once you've successfully acquired your TRV and ready to travel. You have to tender an acceptance letter, booked flight tickets, international passport and a visa to the bank and a PTA of $4000 per quarter will be issued to you.

3-) By CIC requirement, an applicant must show sufficient funds for tuition and living expenses of 10,000CAD for the first academic year.

4-) As said earlier, after studies in Canada, you're eligible to apply for a PGWP, which will allow you to stay back in Canada and work full time without restrictions.

5-) Getting a job in Canada is very difficult as a first timer, In as much as most employers in Canada prefers to employ an employee/worker with Canadian work experience which makes it very frustrating securing a job for a first timer in Canada. Some stay close to over 6 months before getting a job. All in all, it depends strictly by your effort and how you keep pushing to secure a job.

6-) Being an asthmatic patient won't affect your visa application. Medicals, has to do with test of urine, eyes, blood.... Mostly, HIV, syphilis, Chest X-ray.

7-) It depends on the agent you will be making use of in booking your flight: Currently flight rate to Canada is within the range of 250-300K.

You might want to check: https://www.travelstart.com.ng, and www.wakanow.com etc... or pay visit to any local/Int'l airport close to you to confirm the current flight rate to Canada.

I hope the above goes a long way in answering your questions. Feel free to ask questions anytime!

All the best!

You are very funny and always talk as if you know everything. We have to agree to disagree on this one. There is a big difference between meddling in a visa affairs and a school writing in support of an applicant’s visa application. It didn’t start with me. Many schools write to support their applicant’s visa application I have seen at least one other person. It didn’t start with me. It’s the supervisor who always writes, his letter vetted by the school’s visa office before it is sent out. Depending on what is written, it can help the applicant in the visa process. The case of writing is even more justified if CIC is the one that initiated the contact with the school first, asking some questions. It is not always the case that the applicant is left unilaterally to sort out his visa and certainly not the case that a visa application is strictly communication between the applicant and his representative and CIC. Hopefully I will share my testimony soon and tell you whether a school’s letter can influence a visa decision.

Ps: I doubt such a letter written by a school can expedite a visa decision, but I believe depending on what is written to support the visa application, it can influence a visa decision, especially if CIC was the initiator of the communication. Ultimately, it’s CIC’s discretion to grant or refuse. If refused, the school cannot do anything about it.
Attorney jnyuwa02, Do I sound like a comedian to you? Of course not!. On this reputable thread, I have never claimed to be a custodian of knowledge, I am always open and eager to acquire knowledge at any given stage in life. I am not a guru and I haven't claimed to be one either. What amazes me the most with your post is that you always make use of the word Many to describe something you're unsure and uncertain about them. If you read closely from my previous post, I said a supervisor may decide to write a letter on behalf of a student stating the applicant research study purpose, of which this letter will be included during the time of visa application submission.
Definitely! We are intelligent beings and must not agree from same perspective because no school whatsoever has the right to expedite the processing of an applicant visa. More so, a supervisor lettter may or may not influence a visa decision.(Don't be too sure).

Attorney jnyuwa02, There you go again! By his grace each and everyone here will testify to their visa approval. It might not be now, but surely it will turn out good someday. Everything in life happens at their own time and pace. Each applicant here has their own clock and so do you.
Since you said CIC was the first to initiate the contact with your school, fine!. I wish you the very best in your application!

It will end in praises for everyone here. Amen!!

No University in Canada is allowed to interfere with Immigration related matters at any instance. The perogative is strictly with IRCC to make decisions and also correspondence are between IRCC and the client(applicants) or their recognised representative.
Very true! I Haven't heard nor seen where a university in Canada interfered with immigration matters on behalf of a student. Universities issue out acceptance letters and after which the applicant is left with the responsibility to sort for their visa themselves. A supervisor may decide to write a letter on behalf of a student stating the applicant research study purpose, of which this letter will be included during the time of visa application submission. The fact remains that no university in Canada has the right whatsoever to expedite the processing of an applicant study visa application.

what if i apply with it just for the esl program, then if they give me visa for the 3 months course, once i get to canada , i apply to extend my visa with the uncounditional offer they will send to me later
jacintaflavian,

Sure! you will be issued a study permit based on only the duration of the pre-requisite course (ESL) and upon successful completion of this program you can then apply for a fresh study permit within Canada not an extension as you thought. In this case, your sponsor needs to show sufficient funds for both the ESL tuition, your first year undergraduate tuition and living expenses, which will amount to a hell lot of money and of high financial demand from your sponsor.

Again, coming from an English speaking country, Nigeria where English language is the first language of communication, it will be very tough for you to get an approval with an ESL offer. ESL program was specially structured for non-english speaking countries whom are not proficient in english like India, Germany, Vietnam, Sweden, Brazil etc.. and not Nigeria. The visa officer will be wondering why you decide to spend so much for a 12 weeks English (ESL) program (3500 CAD) in MUN, while similar programs are available in your country of residence and can be achieved at a cheaper rate i.e IELTS TEST(68k). More so, the visa officer will see you as not a genuine student who intends to complete course of study in Canada and would depart after authorized stay (purpose of visit).

jacintaflavian, I advise you get your IELTS test result (6.5 band) and request for an official copy of the result from the issuing body to be forwarded to MUN via courier. When that's done you can then apply for your visa with the unconditional offer.

All the best!

I am glad you took my advice and contacted your school. Where are those critics who said I didn’t school in Nigeria and have no idea? Where are those who said it will take 2-3 years? At a point I just stopped arguing and let them feel like they won. You don’t have to win every argument I have learnt as my rule in life, you can just agree to disagree. It shouldn’t be about outwitting anyone in an argument, it’s about helping I am here.
Attorney jnyuwa02, LOL! grin your comments don't seize to amaze me seriously any time I set my eyes on them. Nobody is against you nor are we in any competition with you here. Don't outrightly make it sound as if we are criticizing you. Besides, we cannot all agree on the same point. Initially, we were simply letting the applicant know that a sworn affidavit will work perfectly at this point in time, If it happens to be that he was unable to effect the change of name on his degree certificate.

Please gurus, quick question, is it a rule or is it stated expressly that the statement of account should be 6months? Whatt if it’s 3months ? 6month is way too bulky for online route.

Also is it possible to use zip file to compress the documents and upload the zip file so as to accommodate many documents?

Cc @austinpee4 , frankrobbn1
Uchboggy,

6-4 months bank statement is the basic requirement by cic. 3 months is also acceptable(to an extent).

I don't have expertise in compressing a document using a zip file. I thought that all online application documents are meant to be in PDF format and JPEG for passport photographs.
I'll recommend you use sites like www.ilovepdf.com and www.smallpdf.com any of them will be a remedy to your problem.

Pls, i am not in any way doubting the veracity of your posts, but i once heard on this platform that photos are not allowed in paper route application, but i saw in a part of the IMM Questionnaire form that ='' From the individuals providing you financial assistance for your program. The letter
must indicate their employment; their occupation; their relationship to you, their
number of dependants and full contact details. For extended family member
sponsorship please include proof of relationship (such as family tree, photos, proof
of prior financial support of your education to date if applicable, etc).''

i am asking because i want to include photo of my uncle when he attended my graduation as prove that he has been supporting me for my education.
Kishkosh,

Uncle attending a graduation ceremony is not a strong proof of relationship.
I have explained to you on what you should do to show strong proof of relationship with guarantor (uncle). Check my previous post, you will find
where i explained it for better understanding.

If i have been conditionally accepted into mun and i apply for visa with the letter they gave me. What if i later send my ielts result and the give me full admission before the end of the month, is it possible to change it during my visa process
jacintaflavian,

I want to believe you're going for an undergraduate program at MUN that's why they persisted on you taking an IELTS test. Be guided that the conditional offer that will be issued to you will based on taking an ESL program prior your undergraduate degree program. I advise you send your IELTS result and get an unconditional acceptance offer before embarking on your application for a visa.

Bukella,

If the living expenses is in one account where your savings are held fine! If not, you can as well present your personal(salary) account, while the living expenses is in another account. All good! When it comes to Canada study visa, add all financial statements you have at hand to prove your current financial establishment. Some applicants include 3-4 different bank statements and were approved.

Bro, you sound like you don't understand the Nigerian educational system, i want to believe you didn't school in NIgeria. If it takes an average of 2-3 years(or more) before you can get your certificate from a federal/state university, you think they are so efficient to just make a change for you? Just like that?! You don't think the process would be too long that he won't be able to wait? We all know we have a system that doesn't "really work".

That said, if it is possible, he should go to his school and try, instead of this long thread of argument. If not, Frank's advice is the best option and he should do that now! We all know the earlier the better.

But don't make it appear as though using a sworn affidavit is an impossibility.

Well done sir!

Cheers
harde116,

Yeah Attorney jnyuwa02, sounded as if a sworn notarized affidavit explaining the errors in the applicant name won't work and he further said that the visa officer will think the applicant is making use of someone else's certificate just to acquire visa. Which is wrong and I seize not to agree from his perspective.
I want to also believe that Attorney jnyuwa02 hasn't come across an applicant that used a sworn notarized affidavit and got approved without visiting the issuing institution (body) to effect a change in name. That's why he is so doubtful about it. Well, I have seen people present affidavits and it works good!

Kishkosh,

To show proof of relationship with maternal uncle, you have to add documents that show that your mom and uncle both shared the same family name pior she got married to your dad. List of documents to be included with your application are as follows:
1-) Your mom marriage certificate
2-) Your mom birth certificate
3-) Your uncle birth certificate
4-) Your uncle intl passport bio data page or National I.D.

If possible show proof of past or ongoing financial support from uncle account to your account as this adds more credibility to your application.

bbclue,

If the applicant can change this error on his certificate then fine!. If unable, a notarized affidavit will be sufficient. More so, at the POE issues regarding an applicant degree certificate won't be raised by the officers. The immigration officers at the POE are meant to ask you questions based on your current status as a student like: can I see your admission letter, intl passport, tuition receipts(if any), is it your first time in Canada? where are you from?, you have any money with you? etc.. and then issue out the study permit and SIN (for work). No one will ask after a degree certificate at that point in time, as is none of their duties to do such.
