mcobex:To the bolded words, That was what I said earlier, " they hardly go wrong" But jnyuwa02, said he has seen before, so I have to watch and see what comes after this |

Congrats!!!! |
jnyuwa02:It's better to play safe that's my main concern. Anyway! You've point sometimes if applicant application is wrongly filled, not properly signed as expected or submitted close to date of resumption the embassy returns back the applicant app without processing it. |
Biakwa:No consequences Biakwa, you can go ahead and proceed for an Express entry while your wife goes for studies. It's a good idea. |
jnyuwa02:Don't you think ticking "NO" is risky here?. Considering the fact that applicant application was delayed and returned back to him. The applicant can still tick "YES" and quote the date of the refusal, this should be better than ticking "NO" even though there wasn't a refusal letter in the sealed envelope that was returned to him. |

DrND:I was shocked seeing this. Well, Sir! It may interest you that payment of upfront tuition is not a prerequisite for visa approval. But it is really ridiculous after paying full tuition and having living expenses in a dorm account and the visa officer is still unsure if the applicant will have funds for their studies in Canada. I also wondered how they expected you to show proof of relationship with guarantor (NDCC Company) after going as far as settling your first year bills. For ticking insufficient funds for reason for refusal was an unfair judgement on your application sir. If I were to be you, you can hire an experienced immigration lawyer and request for a judicial review on your application, while a new visa officer reviews your application, this route takes a longer time like 6-8 months before a decision can be made and will cost you 450k-500K in naira. Meanwhile, how was your sponsorship letter like, did they give a tangible reason for sponsoring you abroad? What they stand to gain in this sponsporship and the length of the sponsorship? |
ayeopare:ayeopare do you think that could have been the reason for saying the applicant submitted a fraudulent bank statement? I don't think this is enough to falsely accuse an applicant. Moreover, embassies has no right whatsoever to know the factual amount (available balance) on your bank account. They only make calls on code to the bank that requires a YES OR NO answer from the bank officals requesting for the authenticity of the bank account, the transactions carried out but NEVER request for available funds on the account as it is not safe to release your balance to a third party. If an embassy is unsure of the statement (the available balance) you submitted along side with your application, they will request for an updated one to know if truly you have spent the money, often happens when an applicant is instructed by the Canadian high commission to pay their first year tuition. This took place in the past, but haven't come across it happening of recent. I mean requesting for an updated bank statement prior to issuance of a visa. All fingers crossed and lets watch how it goes. |
jnyuwa02:This sounds interesting. If that be the case, then the applicant should go ahead with the previous advise I gave, and let's see the outcome of this application. |
jnyuwa02:Are you sure about this? Well, I haven't come across such before and haven't seen an applicant that was accused of submitting a fraudulent statement that scaled through. Most of them were given a straight up 5 years ban. Cc: Aallizzwellwole, Please endeavor to come back to this forum and let us know the outcome of your application. As I'm very anxious to know what come after this. |
jnyuwa02:It baffles me alot bro because the Canadian embassy are too big to play a guess work with an applicant app, they must have already gotten a strong evidence on ground with them before contacting the applicant of being into fraudulent act. They don't falsely accuse applicant with serious issues like this. Well, I have given my advise, it's left for the applicant to take a step. The outcome of this, if found guilty is a 5 years ban, which has already tanished the image of the applicant from traveling to Canada and other American continent. |
Aallizzwellwole:Aallizzwellwole, Did you truly submit a fraudulent bank statement with your application? Why I asked this question is because, It's very rare for Canadian embassy to falsely accuse an applicant of being into sharp practises of faking a bank statement without having strong evidence on ground, the embassy must have made series of calls to the bank branch from which the said bank statement was generated or the headquarters at Victoria Island Lagos to know the authenticity of the bank statement prior contacting the applicant via email and giving a 7 days ultimatum to respond. To cut the long story short, if your hands are clean and aren't involved into sharp practises. Simply walk straight to your bank and request for an updated bank statement from the day of your application submission till date and a bank reference letter to be addressed to the Canadian high commission - stating that the said account number has being in existence with the bank and that the said bank statement is not fraudulent but has been running with the named customer, attesting on your behalf that you are their customer since this day till date, and your available balance is...., with the signature of the Authorized manager of the bank at the end left and right side of the letter. With this, you will be fine. All the best! |
kylexy61:Congratulations man!!! |
Bieber78:Bieber78, Sorry to hear your application got refused. Don't be in a haste to submit, Quickly order for your GCMS NOTE : https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en |
jnyuwa02:True! A winning convincing letter of support, past previous support and proof of relationship with sponsor will make this scale through. |
Setemiola:Setemiola, Use the below link to get your forms. Firstly, you need to download the updated version of the acrobat adobe reader inorder to have access to fill the IMM1294E. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/student.asp?countrySelect=NG#applications |
goingforward:goingforward, It not always easy, you might have a point but a visa officer won't be seeing it from your own perspective and genuine interest, this happens most often. You need to present a justifiable reasons for going to Canada for a second masters degree, provide proof that you own a business which requires you to go for an MBA in Canada and argue why Phd is not your choice at the moment. With this, it might be an approval. |
mcobex:mcobex, Bro! You dey vex o Hahahaha . Setting my eyes on this post I had to burst into laughter. Menh! At times the questions some people ask here is quite humorous. These are the set of people that makes things so difficult for the genuine students from Nigeria. Does he think Canada is an Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia etc.. where one can travel with the intention of studying and on reaching there, fly into labour market(Hustling). That is not done in Canada. Well, you have given the best advise, so it's left for him. |
Topsonhandsome:This might lead to you being deported from Canada because the school in which you're accepted will send all correspondence about your appearance in school to IRCC and once that is done you will be found wanting. Don't try it. |
goingforward:goingforward, I can see purpose of visit dropping off, Having a MSc (Master of science) and going to Canada for an MBA (Masters business Administration) shows no logical progression. You're simply undertaking the same academic level to that already completed. The Visa officer will tag you as not a genuine student that is using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada rather than educational advancement. So, Your best bet here is to go for a phd. |
goingforward:goingforward, No problem here!. Once the origin of funds can be accounted for and evidence like reciepts, invoices of the transcations carried out are provided on file with explanations. It WON'T be tagged as a lump sum deposit by the Visa officer. |
gbemiigbal:gbemiigbal, To the best of my knowledge your gcms note is simply saying that you have limited compelling reasons for study in Canada. Why you decide not to complete this program in Nigeria since it will reduce cost and wouldn't warrant you leaving your spouse and kids back home to a foreign country. The Visa officer is equally questioning your intent for not also completing this program in the US other than Canada considering your relavant travel history with them (US). Also, there are traces of lump sum deposits (Loan) money into the bank statements you presented before printing the statement of account. Edited: In respect to reviewing of the letter, I wish I could be of help here, but I am currently having a tight schedule and much letters to review from prospective applicants. |
chuksdewigs:chuksdewigs, Due to the recent contradictions of where study permit applications are being processed, it's best you address your letters to: Deputy High Commission of Canada, 4 Anifowoshe Street, Victoria Island, P.O. Box 54506, Lagos, Nigeria. |
gbemiigbal:Sorry I'm unable to access the PDF file you sent to me, could you please share it as a JPEG. Thank you! Edited: Never mind! I just find out you already pasted one. So, we will work with it. |
jnyuwa02:jnyuwa02, Well, that's not enough to say it looses it originality. As for CIC confirming from your school the legitimacy of your offer might be due to your full funding from USASK, this has to do with funds and CIC don't take it likely when it comes to such aspect, they wanted to be sure if your claims were true and whether your acceptance was aunthetic. Moreover, I also learnt that once an applicant has successfully secured admission into an institution in Canada, the offer letter will be automatically sent to CIC database. |
Clahws:Clahws, It mustn't be a Permanent Residence of Canada, a citizenship , a Visitor, or a student that is legally residing in Canada can as well help order this note for you. You will need to input their address on the form, phone number, full name, your date of birth, sign and date the form then resend it back to them to order the note on your behalf. Or better still, simply download the form using this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/access-information-privacy/forms/request-5744.html Request for the person's address over there in Canada, his full name, phone number and fill the remaining part of the form with your details, then complete payment using your master card in Nigeria. It takes 30-40days to get a GCMS file. |
Clahws:Clahws, Sorry for the outcome of your application. You can order your note using this link: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en Also, the below link will go a long way in addressing the reasons for your refusal before the arrival of your GCMS NOTE. https://www.nairaland.com/3948393/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/391#63425662 Lastly to question No 5 - Your passport expiration date doesn't have any negative effect on your application once it has a 6 months validation, your visa will be issued to you based on the validity of the passport since it will expire before the end of your program. While in Canada, you can then apply for a new passport at the Nigerian embassy/immigration office there and extend your study permit till the end of your program. All the best! |
sogima:Yes they do through email! |
ayeopare:Then you're set. No problem Bro. All fingers crossed. I hope to hear a positive outcome on your application. All the best! |
OriEyeLe:What!! What went wrong brother? You have gone a long way in this, you don't have to quit now. Remember winners never quit. You can pm me and as well share your profile to the house. I'm very sorry about the outcome of your application. Be strong |
ayeopare:ayeopare, Is this a bank statement from a Canadian bank?. If yes. No worries, visa officers believes more on Canadian bank statement than a Nigerian bank. I know of an applicant that submitted his application last year without a bank statement from Canada, but included a reference letter from the bank stating how much the sponsor (the brother) has in the account and CIC accepted it. So, no worries okay! |
jnyuwa02:Legend are you sure about the bolded words? Many?... Why not say a minority of people . Also, why do you say that submitting an original scanned copy of bank statement looses it originality? I have to refute this because an original bank statement bears an official stamp, signature and bank seal affixed to it. When scanned, it appears exact as the original copy. |
