Jewel80: Congrats to the newly approved, i was just smiling as i read through!
A) Please, is it necessary for sponsor's letter to be notarized?
B) is it also necessary for sponsor to get a reference letter from the bank even if the SOA is made available? Jewel80, A) If your sponsor's letter bears an official signature or stamp there is no need notarizing them. B) Reference letters from the bank is good, but not compulsory as many applicants has secured their TRV without this. |

Twallace: Hello guys.
My sponsor (sister) paid my first term tuition and have my living expenses in her dom account. Hope I'm OK?
Is it compulsory she pay the CAD $10,000 into my own dom account?
Please note she can't do this at the moment due to some reasons.
Hope I have chance with just the school fees payment? Twallace, Be guided that payment of tuition fees is not a prerequisite to Visa approval. But it goes a long way to show your sister genuine interest/commitment in sponsoring your studies in Canada. Also, its not compulsory but necessary she transfers the 10,000CAD into your dorm account. Therefore, since it won't be easy for her to complete a transfer to you due to some personal reasons, the first term upfront tuition payment is sufficient. Let her write convincingly that the funds in her dorm account will be made available to you once you acquire your TRV. All the best |

Soothing: Pls someone should bail me out Biko!!
Hello house, Please I need your advice. My resumption date is 7th May and am yet to get any update on my application. When do you think is the best time to approach the institution for extension. What if by May, when the admission offer will be expiring, CIC is yet to touch d application, does the expiration of the admission offer affects their decision on approval?? Soothing, Hold on! Once it gets into the first week of May, then you can now apply for a deferment/ freshly reapply to the institution and get a new acceptance letter from them and send it down to CIC by email. Also, cic can't deny your visa application because your LOA got expired in the process of processing your study permit application. Once you have fully meet the requirements for issuance of a visa, you will be notified by cic to get an updated LOA. All the best! |

ayeopare: @kingfintan University in Canada takes 2.2 don't let anyone confuse you. My friend is doing her masters in University of Ontario with 2.2 so brace up and submit your application. Just that you may not be able to get a research funded Master, and most likely probably a Meng or Masc instead of MSC. ayeopare, Why quote my post? Advice and quote the person you're referring to, not my post. Moreover, you are saying a different thing entirely. Because, the applicant is asking for the possibility of securing visa with a second degree in Canada and not a masters degree and you barged in saying "DON'T LET ANYONE CONFUSE YOU". In this case, who is confused? How does this correlate with what we are saying before? Please even though this is a faceless forum, Let's also try to be matured and watch the way we talk and answer questions and endeavour to desist from being sentimental when giving out advises. Henrykingiv: Hello House,
Please I want to apply for a study visa but my dad who is also my sponsor gave me his bank account statements which has little money in it. But he has some treasury bills he gave to me that will mature next month and it's quite huge but he hasn't cashed on the money..
Pls will the VO use the treasury bills in place of his bank statement because there's really not much money in his statements of account Henrykingiv, Can this treasury bills be accessible and available to you during your studies in Canada? If YES, Explain and provide proof to the visa officer on how you intend to make use of this money and the possibility of cashing out this treasury bills during your stay in Canada. What a visa officer wants to see is funds availablity to applicant. Again, it would be more safer/better if your dad can cash out this treasury bills and deposit it into his account, having his low available balance, reasons because a visa officer believes more on liquidated funds than funds held somewhere with restrictions. All the best! |

Cc @Frankrobbn1 , @Mcobex, @Jnyuwa02 and others with important contributions Twallace: Go to Children Practice hospital or any other hospital use by CIC to do a complete test for yourself (not for CIC).
When you get the result, you will know exactly what they will be submitting to CIC when you do an actual test for cic.
After you get the result, whatever decision you take is up to you. Cc:adecoal The best step here is to declare you were infected of TB in the past but now cured. Since, you're afraid to declare this to CIC, I think the answer from Twallace is the best answer here. Visit any accredited/recognized hospital by cic and complete this medicals for yourself there specifically just for the T.B prior submitting your application. This will give you a clear insight of what your medical result would be regarding the TB. All the best! |

Ratawu: Nobody knows it all here. We are just here to share notes and ideas to help ourselves. WHAT WOULD I GAIN FROM GIVING WRONG INFORMATION? I contributed to the question based on my personal experience at the VFS and that was my teacher. Truly, I completed IMM5707 from home and when it reached my turn to submit around 5pm since 07:45am, the VFS guy told me it was the wrong form and I had to spend another money to come the next day and filled the IMM 5645 with additional N3000 at their business centre. And when we argue it here, the concesus way forward was that because of the inconsistency of the VFS guy, people should go with the two forms and give them the one they want in which o totally concurred with. THEN WHY LAMBASTING ME AS IF I WAS YOUR KID. Don't behave as if you know it all and we need to respect each other. Thank you Ratawu, Lol! Sorry to hear you passed through this during your visa application submission. The VFS official that instructed you to get the old IMM5654E might not be aware of the changes. As this new form was updated not long ago. Also, why I argued your post was that i know of 3-4 applicants that submitted their application recently alongside with the new IMM5707E but were not asked to go back and get the old form. To the above bolded word... I'm not lambasting at you Sir/Ma, but the way you commented previously that "Do I want the applicant to waste his/her money at the time of their application submission really kept me wondering why you said this and you kept on saying that the new IMM5707E form is wrong also made me to quote your moniker the second time". You should have come clean at the first instance and make it out spoken that you went through a traumatic stress at the VFS office not by telling me that experience is the best teacher and its a wrong form, while others has submitted their application freely without asking them to go back. Lastly, I don't know it all as you thought I do. I am open and I learn everyday, I am also far/not close of being a perfect person. This is faceless forum, each and everyone of us here is free to contribute their quota for the betterment of the forum, there are no persons that their specialty is to help people here. So, don't misunderstand this fact okay. Shalom! |

kingfintan: I can’t do a master as I graduated with a 2:2, and there is no PGD course in that course.. can’t a strong SOP tackle this, as for my age it 24 and not 25 years.. kingfintan, Going for a second degree on your discipline in Canada shows no logical progression. If you think an SOP can conquer this, then go ahead and present a rational explanation to why you opted out for a second degree instead of a PGD. But to be frank with you, most of this visa officers don't believe what is on your SOP when it comes to a case like yours, most especially when they have gone through your file entirety and find out that you already acquired a first degree. Whatsoever reason you present on your SOP will be unreasonable to them and will immediately conclude that you're not a bona-fide applicant that will leave Canada, even people with strong academic progression are still battling to be approved of their visas, talk more of a person that already has a degree and going for a second degree in Canada. What will be the person fate? My advice!!!.....Don't put your application at risk. Google more, you might find a course that is directly related to your previous studies for a PGD. All the best! |

kingfintan: Hello house, please going for an undergraduate at age 25 years is it a red flag?? And how can one tackle this, as I have an undergraduate degree before. But going for another undergraduate degree to finish in two years.. kingfintan, Canada study visa gets tougher as the day breaks, inorder to save you from the stress of applying and getting a refusal based on purpose of visit, it is better you go for something higher than your previous academic level. A Masters degree or a PGD. All the best! |

As we all know that, your sponsor might have enough money a times, but much dependants might make the funds look inadequate and useless. More dependants, more money to be shown.

goingforward: Ratawu & Frankrobbn1,
Thanks for the information. I think the upper hand that paper route offers is the fact that each application would be checked by the VFS official before submission.
Maybe it just makes sense to fill both forms, upon getting there, they, i will mention that filled both forms, because i wasn't sure of the specific one. I think at that point they should select the one that is the right one and remove the one they do not need.
Abi?
GoingForward. goingforward, Still wondering which form could be the recommended one? Chyann: Hello house please am new to this forum. Am 26 and I applied for Canadian student visa for an undergraduate program in march. I got my denial letter on 9th. Reason being that they are not convinced that I will return after my program based on my travel history and purpose of visit. I submitted all necessary documents including part payment of school fees receipt being 1000canadian dollar. My acceptance letter, sponsors bank statement of over 10million. I want to reapply but am confused on how to tackle these issues. Please help me with advice on what to do. Thanks Chyann, Sorry for the outcome of your application. At 26 going for an undergraduate degree program in Canada must present a rational explanation to what you've been doing since you last left Highschool (STUDY GAPS). You failed to convince the visa officer that you're a bona-fide student and your reasons for going to Canada for studies is not justifiable considering the high cost of relocating to Canada, that was the main reason the visa officer is not satisfied that you will leave Canada based on your purpose of visit. Order your GCMS note using the below link so we can take it up from there. https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en |

Thanks for your help so far.
Please on the (IMM 1294)- Study permit form, under the ''Details of Intended study (Funds available for my stay)''- Does that mean the total funds that i have for the program, in my account and in my sponsor's account or should that be just living expenses for one year + Tuition, or does it mean only living expenses exclusive of tuition.
What does the caption ''funds available for my stay'' mean?
Please help!
goingforward. goingforward, You're expected to show proof of funds for your first year of studies in Canada and not for the entire period of your stay in Canada. Tuition = ? Ratawu: Experience is the best teacher. I don't just post any here if I am not sure of it. Don't let the applicant waste his money and time unecessarily. Since the applicant is doing the paper route, the VFS officials will not accept the family form you referred to from him and he will be forced to go and fill the correct form, that is the family form with siblings at their business centre which is somehow expensive. Hehehehe , I laugh at the bolded words. What experience are you talking about here? Sir/Ma, I crave your indulgence that you should stop dishing out misleading information here. If you're unsure about any question, kindly jump them and give relevant answers to questions you know. Don't claim to be right when you're wrong okay. The family form IMM5707E which excludes adding siblings details is currently used by paper route applications as recommended by cic while the old family form IMM5645E is still used by online application, which I know soon it will be updated to this new one. None of this forms are fake, nor has the correct/wrong one in them as you've just said. The attached will educate you more.
