Pls chief, just want to know, I applied with a bank statement of account in Canada running to 30k CAD with my Tuition paid. The statement of account I got from my bank was not original statement as it was sent through my mail like around 2nd of February,
also the bank letter of introduction was sent through email, not original and I applied for my Visa on 09th April. What do you guys suggest
ayeopare,

Did you apply through online or paper route?
If online route no worries here, just that the official bank stamps won't appear on your statement as usual, but thanks to the bank reference letter you included it will go far in addressing this. if paper route, what is required of you is originals of bank statement and not a soft copy statement, I know fully well that the VFS workers wouldn't have allowed you to submit such with your application. So, I guess you applied online.
All in all, you have submitted your application let the will of the visa officers be done, if a visa officer is not satisfied with the type of statement you submitted, they might request for another bank statement from you. Therefore, all hands crossed and lets hope for a positive outcome on your application. Be optimistic okay!!

All the best!

What are the key points a sponsorship letter should contain.

1. Relationship to the Applicant
2. Reason why sponsoring Applicant
3. Number of dependents(sponsor)
4. Highlighting financial commitment to the applicant,by indicating any payment done in respect to tuition and Boarding
5. Sponsors background

Any other cogent points?
mightyola,

You will need the following too:
1-) Amount of sponsorship funds and length of sponsorship
2-) Source of sponsorship funds
3-) Where the funds are currently held
4-) Your sponsor expectations (What he/she stands to gain) as a result of sponsorship.
5-) contact information and how your sponsor can be reached.

Add up the 5 key areas listed above and your letter of sponsorship will appear superb in the sight of the visa officer.

All the best!

AKUPSME:
What documents can I request from my employer if I want to use my company as my second sponsor.
Because that's one of the options I have now going forward
AKUPSME,

Using a company as a co-sponsor to your application, a rational letter of sponsorship will suffice stating clearly why the company is spending so much on you, how this sponsorship will be of paramount benefit to them and attesting that your intl certificate will yield an extraordinary results to the company upon your return. How long you've been working for this company goes a long way to prove to the visa officer the genuinity of this sponsorship. Company MUST show proof of commitment towards financing your studies either paying at least a semester tuition fee or transferring funds into your personal account.

To mention a few, you need documents like:
1-) Letter of sponsorship (written on company letter headed paper)
2-) Affidiavit of company sponsorship (stamp and sign by commissioner of oaths)
3-) 6 months company bank statements
4-) Company article and association of memorandum
5-) Company CAC documents ( proof to show the business is Registered)
6-) Tax clearance certificate
7-) Board resolution letter (stating clearly that they are aware of this sponsorship and won't pose to be a hindrance to this) etc...

AKUPSME:
Will getting a letter from my current company; stating I will resume after studies be a good reason to satisfy the V.O.
Cos I wanted to include it in my first application, but from the comments I read it seemed not to be a good idea.
AKUPSME,

I want to understand you mean a job offer letter from current company stating that you will return back to the company after the completion of your studies in Canada with a promotion in the office.
If company or employer isn't your sponsor, presenting a job offer does not constitute a significant tie to your home country and going for a 2years and above program in Canada makes it unrealistic to the visa officer as no company will leave a space for you for such period of time.
It only makes a lot of sense, if employer, CEO or the company is your sponsor. Then you can justify your claims. If not, concentrate on showing professional, social and economic ties to your home country, other than presenting a job offer that will weaken your application.

All the best!

AKUPSME:
What documents will CIC return back to me upon refusal, if its just my passport, can I retrieve it from vfs office the same day I will be reapplying?
Since I don't reside in Lagos.
AKUPSME,

Once your application is refused, applicant passport and a refusal letter will be enclosed in a sealed envelope and returned back to VFS for pick up. You can retrieve it same day and reapply for your visa, make sure you take along the yellow slip (receipt) and a copy of your passport bio data page which was issued to you at the time of application submission .

Twallace:
Please what's bank reference letter all about and who should it be addressed to?
Twallace,

Walk straight to your bank and request for this letter and it will be issued to you within a couple of minutes, let them know it's for visa application.

A Bank reference letter is a letter addressed to the consular officer of Canada, introducing you as their customer, the date and day you opened the account with the bank, your home/office address, for how long you have been running this account with them, attesting that you're indeed a good customer to the bank blah blah etc...

A signature from the Authorized managers of the bank will suffice at the end left and right side of the reference letter.
The letter should be addressed to this address :

Deputy High Commission of Canada,
4 Anifowoshe Street,
Victoria Island,
P.O. Box 54506,
Lagos, Nigeria.

Thanks everyone who contributed to my questions. I truly appreciate.
Since the tax clearance is impossible to get now, i think i will make do with SOA, CAC documents, affidavit and the letter of sponsorship and keep my fingers crossed.
I have come to understand that trv is possible even with living expenses in sponsor account. I think his letter is convincing enough.
xzile,

Once sponsorship letter is convincing, It is very much possible. Go and submit your application, I see you getting your TRV. Remember to show proof of relationship with sponsor okay.

jnyuwa02:

Siblings are not strong ties. I guess that is why the new form IMM5707E introduced did away with them. Siblings by law are not considered one’s immediate family relatives.
Wife and children are immediate relatives and usually what convinces the VO. Parents too too are considered immediate relatives and to an extent, especially if they have properties that you intend to inherit, would help you as ties. If you don’t have any of these, concentrate on showing any social or professional or economic ties that would bring you back to Nigeria. For example, professional ties would be your Work. Economic ties would be landed property or business interest. Social ties would be anything you are doing or been a very promising person and the evidence shows that you would come back to Nigeria and make a difference in the lives of others. Its often not so easy to pinpoint, so I advice you concentrate on your strengths and explain what you think can induce your return to Nigeria and pray the VOs buy it!!
The bolded words are practically true. I had to consult a Canadian legal personnel on this issue and they confirmed it to be true that CIC doesn't regard siblings as a tie to applicant application that's why the new updated form excludes adding details of siblings. Applicant should focus on showing professional, social and economic ties that can compel their return back home after studies.

Hello everyone,
I got rejected for the second time, the first was based of insufficient fund. The second one is
1: I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection216(1) based on your purpose of stay.
2: I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as stipulated in subsection 216(1) based on your personal assets and financial status.
Can someone explain
I can see this is now the new reasons for CIC in refusing applicant's application.
Put yourself together okay and quickly order for your CAIPS file using the link below, then we can now pick it up from there.

Cases are different so don’t judge the applicability and effectiveness of tax clearance simply because someone got it without it. For a third party sponsor, the need to show tax clearance and other certificates establishing the legitimacy of the business of the sponsor is even more pressing. In a world of TRV application with applicant coveting the nod of a VO, anything to establish legitimacy and showing good faith, I will advice to submit if possible.
Okay! Let the sleeping dog lie. I just found out that tax clearance certificate isn't expensive (6K-10K) to get as I thought it was and someone aside the sponsor can acquire this certificate on behalf of the company. In that case, let the applicant submit a tax clearance certificate for this year and that of last year that will be fine.

To be on a safer side, Get an updated statement of account. As what is required by CIC is 3-4weeks bank statement. It shouldn't be above this.

Hey Champion, tax clearance while not compulsory, is very important ooh!!! It’s shows the legitimacy of a business as Austinpee4 said. I will recommend he submit it if he has one or go pay up his taxes and obtain one. Paying up one year fees and shoring 10k into a dormiciliary account in this day and age for Canadian HIgh COmmission means nothing. The legitimacy of the business added will give his application extra gravitas!!
I can't underestimate the fact that Tax clearance certificate isn't good. Yes! It shows business legitimacy, but in a case scenario like this, considering the applicant sponsor is not around to acquire this tax certificate, do you suggest the applicant waits until the arrival of the sponsor?, meanwhile, you and I know very well that on this forum, many applicants never included this certificate on their application but still got approved. What have you to say about this?

Edited: To the bolded words... AGREED!

He left me with a healthy bank SOA, , company registration documents and a convincing sponsorship letter. The thing is that he evades tax payments and the 10k CAD is still in his account.
xzile,

I don't see issues with your application. Considering that sponsor is not around, The most important thing here is to have your uncle(a third party) pay your tuition, as visa officers believes this to be a direct commitment towards financing an applicant studies in Canada. Be it a paternal or maternal uncle you MUST show proof of relationship.

Good evening house
I appreciate the love in this forum.
Please i am ready for submission but just encountered certain problems. First my sponsor is a business man but he have no tax clearance certificate for his company.
2ndly, he had emergency and traveled out today so it wasn't convenient for him to transfer my living expenses to my account.
PLEASE HOUSE I WANT TO KNOW IF THESE TWO REASONS WILL POSE ANY THREAT, HAVE ANYBODY IN THE PAST SECURED TRV IN THESE CONDITIONS. PLS I NEED ANSWERS CUZ I WILL LIKE TO SUBMIT TOMORROW
xzile,

Also take note of the few listed....
Have your uncle paid your tuition? Did you include documents to show proof of relationship with him or proof of on going/previous financial support from him? Lastly, endeavour to add documents to evident his business source of income.

Note: Tax clearance certificate is not compulsory here, if uncle has paid your tuition fees and has the living expenses in his account and can write convincingly that funds will be made available to you and for the subsequent years, I see no problem, you need to show strong proof of relationship with him and your application will be a success.

All the best!

Good evening great mind,

I have a big issue that needs to be tackle now.
We have exactly what we need to do to re-aply and we have submitted a week ago. But I noticed that she went and Old cv which carry her MBA program(certificate not even yet Collected) In her first application it was not mention in the CV. And was rejected on financial ground. Now we paid full tuition and funds available just she has went to use old cv that has MBA mentioned.

Please I want to get various comment on this. Does it pose a bad signal to her application. Do they even need Cv in this application?

Can we recall

Please Frank, juwon and other great people please comment
Biakwa,

Yes! Visa officers goes through CV's once attached with applicant application, as it provides clarity to the visa officer on her expertise, but stating she has an MBA (certificate not yet collected) won't be a reason for a refusal. It pose to be a problem only if she is going for an MBA program in Canada. If not, I don't see any problem here.
You can as well acquire this MBA certificate and send it directly to CIC via email and it will be quickly attached with her ongoing processing application.

All the best!

jnyuwa02:
I think this is what is going on. CIC conducts its eligibility of review in two phases. First and foremost test is the financial test. Once this test is done and you pass, CIC proceeds to the second phase, which is purpose of visit, asset and financial status, etc, all ties. You didn’t go past the first phase in your first denial. Having refired and addressed the financial ground, CIC proceeded to the second phase and you failed. Now you need to tackle the second phase. I really don’t what else you can present that you haven’t presented already. Have you had a good relationship with your supervisor and does he know something well about you that he can feel confident to comment to the embassy about addressing whether you would return to Nigeria? Do you have a community leader in Nigeria you are close with who can address this issue in a letter to the embassy? Can you write a good SOP yourself offering a cogent rebuttal of the reasons ticked? These strategies would work. But first order your GCMS notes before proceeding.
jnyuwa02,

Very true, CIC reviews financial establishment/Bank statements first before proceeding to other areas of the applicant application.
