Papa111:Hello, Get your sponspor pay your tuition fees and transfer your living expenses into your dorm account. With this the Visa officer will see that funds are in convertible currency and readily exportable. Good luck! |
Pahpahjay:I best suggest you go for paper route as there are VFS workers to review and arrange your documents properly before submission, they will also assist you in rectifying any possible errors which you omitted on your file. #They don't help correct your SOP. ![]() |
awuf:Boss! I'm sorry to see your visa got refused. I'll address your case. Pardon me because this post will be long and detailed. Firstly, looking at your GCMS note it's pretty straight forward, as i can see you don't have problem with finances here. The Visa officer is not convinced you're applying in good faith i.e they are not satisfied you're a genuine student. Your NOTE is clearly pointing at the following - 1-) PURPOSE OF VISIT 2-) CURRENT EMPLOYMENT SITUATION & LIMITED EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS IN COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE. 3-) HOME TIE 4-) PERSONAL ASSET AND FINANCIAL ESTABLISHMENT. PURPOSE OF VISIT You have failed to convinced the visa officer the benefits of studying in Canada rather than home country, having the high cost of international students. They aren't satisfied you will leave Canada at the end of authorized stay. - Your SOP should address this please. LIMITED EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS IN COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE/CURRENT EMPLOYMENT SITUATION Your employment/job offer did not constitute a significant to Nigeria, meaning the job offer/the employment prospects of your job can't compel your return back to your home country after completion of studies in Canada. I made it clear on my last post that - "Every embassy will like to satisfy themselves that the applicant has a gainful employment in their country of residence and that the prospects of getting a job when they loose their current one is high. That satisfies them that you won’t leave your job when you travel to their country. Canada’s High Commission is no exception." You failed to prove this to the Visa Officer. HOMETIE The Visa officer is not also satisfied your family members and your professional ties can compel you to return home. Did you add your family birth certificates? Did you give a tangible reason that you're coming back to continue your job with notable prove? Did your employer state that you will be welcomed to return after studies to take the company to a greater height with your international certifcate and there will be a promotion in office for you to that effect on his introductory /Recommedation letters? PLEASE NOTE - While doing this you should also put some factors into consideration like the duration of the course you're going to study, how long will it take you to complete it.? If you will be staying longer, presenting a job offer will weaken your application, because the Visa officer knows very well that no company will keep a seat/space for you for so long. "I believe that's what went wrong here" PERSONAL ASSET AND FINANCIAL ESTABLISHMENT - Since you have being working for so long now did you include your salary bank statement?, Because the Visa officer is very much interested in your finances, to know what you have achieved for the past 10years as a banker. - Do you have any landed property in your name? Lastly, you need to prove all this listed to the visa officer. Better still, i'll advice you go through the EXPRESS ENTRY as you have high chances of securing a PR with your 10years working experience, then you won't pay high for international tuition fees. You will migrate as permanent residence of Canada(PR) possibly you can invite your family and friends to join you. So I best advise you explore the express entry thread and enjoy the goodies there. I hope you find the above information helpful regarding your visa refusal. Warm Regards, Frank! |
adexyz91:Yes you can Sir! There is no cut-off salary/bank statement for that. |
Pahpahjay:I'm also heading for the Spring 2018(BSc to be precise). We can possibly relate. In respect to your complaint, I'm sorry to hear your application got refused the second time. Please you can check previous post on this thread where i mentioned how best to tackle PURPOSE OF VISIT & PERSONAL FINANCIAL STATUS AND ASSEST. I guess you aren't getting things right on your application, or your SOP was weak to explain things to the VO. Meanwhile, let me give a breakdown of things you need to do next. PURPOSE OF VISIT - Are you going for a second degree? If not... Your chosen field of study in Canada should be relevant to previous studies or your job role. Did your SOP highlight the following - 1-) Your academic background explained briefly 2-) Why you choose Canada not Nigeria. 3-) Why university of Winnipeg 4-) The program of choice. 5-) How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working. 6-) What you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you in the future. Get the above done on your SOP and Pm some responsible monikers here to review them for you. PERSONAL ASSET AND FINANCIAL ESTABLISHMENT - √Are you currently employed? Did you add your salary bank statement/Payslips? √Do you have any family landed properties or business? Did you add it to your app that such land will be willed to you as part of your inheritance or you're a shareholder in your family company and will be coming back to take the business to a greater height. Lastly If you're gainfully employed Add your CV, Letter of employment, introductory letters from employer, work I.D, your certificates etc..... Never to worry okay, your next application will turn out to be successful. Also, Its very necessary to order for your GCMS NOTE (Very important), As this will give us an insight on what the visa officer said concerning your APP. Regards, Frank |
hurricanesgrace:Hello, You didn't ask yourself why everyone kept on ignoring your question and moving unto relevant ones. Funny enough here is not a charity club/Forum or Home where such is done. Sir/Ma, Do yourself good by sitting down and constructing a convincing SOP for yourself. Once you are done with that, you can pm some responsible monikers here to review them for you and make corrections where relevant. I must tell you that no one here will write an SOP for you. Unless you want some monikers here that will pm you and charge you money and at the end you get everything messed up. So do yourself good by doing the needful. Don't be lazy okay. Sorry if i sounded rude. Best of luck on your SOP. |
Saviouro:High Commission Of Canada Visa Section, P. O. Box 1639, Accra Ghana. Respected Sir/Ma, All the best. |
Pahpahjay:Good to know you are also heading to the University of Winnipeg. If i may ask you, what's your level of education (BSc, PGD, MSc, Phd) and what semester did you apply for. Winnipeg applicants quote this post. Thanks as you reciprocate soonest. |
Ggetter50:Hello, To the best of my knowledge, I think you can use a CAC document of the business for your visa application, only if the company in question has been running with a business name, a business letter headed paper, and you have being paying your bills like environmental sanitation, electric bills, local government taxes etc... I don't see anything bad anyway. You just need to explain to them that such business has been in existence, i.e including previous business receipts, transcation and sales that have been going on prior the company got registered. In respect to the second question, You paying your tuition fee directly will be the best option here, because cic don't look at who pays the tuition fees, or the medium with which the tuition fees was paid. You don't necessarily need to transfer funds to your sponsor before you can pay for your tuition, you can pay it yourself, while your sponspor address it in his letter of sponsorship that as a matter of fact, he has paid your full tuition. Inconclusion, After paying your full tuition will you have any available funds? If you don't have any available funds, I don't see reasons to why you should include your CAC document. Mind you, while adding a CAC document you should have it in mind to include your business bank statement indicating such business earn some income. But if you have, you can add it to your app A REGISTERED BUSINESS IS A GOOD HOME TIE " This is my opinion. Best of luck! |
KharisNosa:Hello, It's nice you are here. Welcome. In regards to your questions. Sir/Ma, Be guided that the minimum requirement for a masters degree in Canada is 2.1(Second class upper). Anything below that is not eligible and will have to go through a PGD inorder to be accepted into a masters program. I can see you are already enrolled into a PGD at Unilag, which is a nice one. You're deliberating whether to drop the course and further your PGD in Canada, but ill advice you complete your course, sit up this time, be serious minded with your books and try as much as possible to obtain a good grade that can secure you a masters degree in Canada rather than leaving the course you have already enrolled in. Mind you, the Visa officers aren't daft either. How do you intend to convince them that you're a serious student, what made you think you are wasting time at UniLag? Since you can't make a good grade in Nigeria, how do you think you can make it in Canada, that will be the question a visa officer will throw at your app. So I best advise you stay back and complete your studies in Nigeria, then can now further for a masters program in Canada. I hope this helps, Good luck!!! |
tayonani:Hello, If i understand you clearly you said your last application for a study permit was refused based on PERSONAL ASSETS AND FINANCIAL STATUS This is very easy to tackle, Since your father owns a 71 Hactres of land you can add it to your application as prove of property, let your father address this in a letter stating that you own part of the land as your inheritance and you will be coming back to utilize it upon your graduation from Canada or better of, he can change the ownership to your name(willing some parts of the land to you) Any of them is okay. Also, if you have been working and earning a good salary, you should add your salary bank statement to prove your financial establishment, but if you don't work, don't worry about it. Just add the landed property and you will be fine. Other documents can be...... 1-)Land Survery plan and 2-)Land C of O(Certificate of occupancy) I wish you the best! |
mayorelnino:Hello, You don't need to bother yourself about the PGD. Yes of course, we all know that it's very tough/difficult for a PGD applicant to convince a Visa officer that it's study intent is solely on studies and will leave Canada upon completion of the study i.e (PURPOSE OF VISIT). Inorder for your case to scale through, i'll advice you put up a convincing SOP to why you opted for PGD instead of Masters degree. Better still, you can explain to the visa officer on your letter of intent that the PGD is a pathway to your enrollment into a Masters program in Canada. I believe if you do things right your application will turn out to be successful. You should always try to be optimistic okay! Many apply for PGD and got refused and few were approved. So believe yours will be accepted. If only you explain your case in a reasonable manner and prove to the visa officer that you're a genuine student, the Visa officer will see reasons with you and approve your visa. So believe it will work out like that of your friend too. DESTINIES ARE NOT THE SAME" many might fail, your case might be different. Let your SOP stand out for you. Sorry for the late response. All the best! |
guzenaira:How far Guzenaira? Happy New Year!!! It's been a while, how is it going with you? |
Applicants heading to the University of Winnipeg. Please can you signify by quoting this post, so we can relate. I have decided to change my base to Winnipeg. Thank you! |
tayonani:Yes you can use a bank statement of four(4)months. It always advisable to use 6 months, but based on CIC webpage 4 months is also acceptable. Best of luck. |
SPOILT9JAOLOSHO:Hehe! I'm still an aspirant Sir! I was trying to see how i may be of help to the fellow. |
ophre:MUN Present! I'm heading to MUN for spring semester. Ask your questions Sir/Ma. |
Josh121:You don't need to worry about employment Sir!, if you are a fresh graduate. Make sure you clearly state that on your app that you just graduated and you will be fine. |
Hello Room! I was going through the thread and I noticed that most applicants were refused of their study visas based on the following grounds shorlisted on this post and this has given most of them sleepness night, some have decided to quit the Canadian dream and end up having the mindset that Canadian study visa is tough and can not be easily approved unless you use an AGENT, some even go as far as paying millions to AGENTS just to get their study visa. I must tell you that it is a lie, most agents even go as far as complicating issues for applicant, which most times lead to misrepresentation and a 5 years Ban. After reading this post, you have to get up to your feet , beat your chest and do things in the right way and get your study permit app approved Asap. RECENT REFUSAL GROUNDS: 1-) Purpose of visit 2-) Current employment situation 3-) Personal asset and financial status. 4-) family ties in Canada or home country. In this post I'll address the above reasons and give POSSSIBLE WAYS to tackle the concerns of the visa officer. 1-) PURPOSE OF VISIT - It is important that your visit coincides with an important event in your life or the purpose of the visit can be reasonably explained in your SOP. If it is for study you must have qualifications in that field or have the expertise in that area. Most times, your job role or company should be relevant to previous studies and to your chosen field of study in Canada. If you decide to change career path, it should be clearly stated on your SOP with compelling/strong/ and convincing reasons to why you decide to change a career path. Your letter of intent should reflect the following and should be addressed in each paragraphs to avoid repetition. 1-) Describe your academic background briefly. 2-) Why you choose Canada not Nigeria. 3-) The school. 4-) The program of choice. 5-)How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working. 6-) What you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you in the future. Everything should point to 'studying in Canada' not working or visiting friends and family in Canada or securing a PR after completion of studies. Address all academic backlogs, study gaps, study plans etc... on your SOP. 2-) CURRENT EMPLOYMENTSITUATION Every embassy will like to satisfy themselves that the applicant has a gainful employment in their country of residence and that the prospects of getting a job when they loose their current one is high. That satisfies them that you won’t leave your job when you travel to their country. Canada’s High Commission is no exception. You need to prove to them that you’ve been working for at least 2 years continuously, you earn a good salary, say CAD$400- CAD$1,000 plus a month depending on the level of your education, you have leave to travel, and you are qualified for the job you are currently employed in. So add your CV, school certificates, previous and current job offer letters, leave letters, pay slips and introductory notes from your firm to evidence your employment. 3-) PERSONAL ASSET AND FINANCIAL STATUS Like most embassies, the Canadian High Commission will also be interested in your finances. Show a 6-month bank statement or more for any Canada visa application; both current and savings accounts, showing your salaries or income from employment. If you have treasury bills, building society savings, mortgages, microfinance or credit union savings and the pass book or certificates, share investments in companies etc, add all to prove you have enough financial resources before and after your trip. There is no cut off bank statement figure. So try as much as possible to show your monthly inflow and outflow of salaries in your salary bank statement with a good closing balance as a proof of financial establishment. 4-) FAMILY TIES IN CANADA OR HOME COUNTRY Prospective travellers who were refused with this point wondered why they should have a family in Canada before being given the visa. Note that the full statement is “family in Canada OR family in your home country”. So its either you failed to prove each criterion or both criteria, that is, whether you have family ties in Canada or whether you have family ties to your home country. This is what you do : Show sufficient ties to your home country i.e. what will compel you to return home? 1-) Do you have a spouse and kids(minors) and are you leaving them behind? 2-) Do you have elderly parents who depend on you? 3-) Do you own businesses/property that you need to continue managing? 4-) Do you have adequate funds? 5-) Do you have family members whom are not accompanying you to Canada? All these mentioned are HOME TIES, so if you have any of the following listed, endeavor to show evidence to each of them and make sure you add it to your application. The above information is Legit and was obtained from a Canadian Legal personnel. I wish you all Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. All the best to the hopefuls and to the approved, CONGRATULATIONS!!!. |
Nogen:Waoo! Ms. Nogen, I must confess that God's hands is upon you and your family. I haven't come across this in my entire life, TRV approved within 3 working days. What a speed! Congratulations Ms. Nogen and to your lovely Husband. I wish you both the best over there in Canada, go and represent us well. As for we the hopefuls, we tap to your testimony. |
rosegoldd:Congratulations!!! |
Abiodunne:Hahahahahaha!.... . I laugh because God has finally sent his overwhelming grace upon your case, he has shown you Merci and has finally put the devil to shame.Waooo!!! Abiodunne! Abiodunne! Abiodunne!!! You are a conqueror! Greater things are waiting for you over there in Canada. Once again CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Go and make us proud!!!May we be partakers to this shaking Testimony of yours. AMEN!!! |
ayotho:I'm very sorry to hear that your visa got refused. You have a good profile over there. Please tell the house what level of education you are going for.... MSc,PDG/C,PHD? So we can know where to start from. Thank you as you reciprocate. Once more sorry for your refusal. |
TDultimate:If I understand your question clearly Sir. You are finding it difficult to sign your study permit form. Please find the answers below and select the one that applies to you. Online applications are signed Electronically. Paper route/app are signed manually(by hand). Please let us know if you encounter any difficulty of any such. All the best! |
ambro123:I apprehend what you mean. It's a bold step and good one. It will be a clear picture to the visa officer that you have shown concerns to your previous denial for a study permit. Try as much as possible to edit it in a unique way that best suit you. Don't copy directly from the rubric. I best advice you go by that route. Its okay! |
Cherryola:Miss Cherryola ! Why are you troubling yourself on irrelevant issues? What if i tell you YES it will affect your app, what will you do? You will be left with a troubled mind and you will keep blaming yourself. Please and Please be always affirmative in situation like this. I must say that we are the ones that bring bad lucks to ourselves. Since you have submitted, Why not let God or whosoever you believe to take over your app. Since your name appeared as the signature in other relevant documents, you have nothing to worry about. Keep a positive mindset and your app will end in praise. For your notice, there are people that don't have signature and prefers using their names as their signatures(its choice). Visa officer won't question that. Additionally, I haven't come across applicant being denied visa because he/she used their names as signature. Do away with your negative thoughts, be optimistic and you will smile at LAST. Cheers! |
ambro123:Be guided that both letters serves the same purpose. Letter of explanation(LOE) and Statement of purpose(SOP) are two persons in one(All the same). ![]() Applicants who use LOE to address previous concerns of their visa refusal and use SOP to explain their intent to study, it's applicant choice. I believe that applicant who use such route wants to call the attention of the visa officer in regards to their previous denial and how they have tackled the reasons/concern of the VO. Nothing more, nothing less!!! You may decide to add both content to just a letter, be it LOE/SOP or you write them separately as others do. They both are good! It depends on how you want to paint your app. I best suggest you also go with that route, its a good one and a welcome idea. I hope this information helps. All the best! |
jnyuwa02:Well said and quite explanatory! I'll advice you go with the above advice clearly stated by @jnyuwa. It's a guided one!!!. Come back to Nigeria and process your study permit application. At least you have secured an enormous travel histories across America, Europe's and North America (Canada) which will tend to act as an added bonus to your TRV App. Also, As @jnyuwa has said earlier work more on constructing a good SOP that will portray you as a genuine student. Why Canada, why Regina, Why the course, Your future prospects/goals(what you intend to achieve after completion of studies in Canada)etc... Age(17years) is still very much on your side. I believe if you go with the advices given to you here. Your next Application will be a successful one. All the best! Cc:Omonoba1981 |
jnyuwa02:I don't advice the fellow to go by that route. The Visa officer will question such act. Remember the fellow said he/she is not legally married, but single and has a SON. Also, the fellow is dependant on his/her sponspor. So the expense burden will be on the sponspor. Not just that, the fellow is trying to use the little boy as his/her HOMETIE. What then now becomes the fate of the little child?, since the fellow is going for a 4 years undergraduate program, that will last long. Who then cater for the child's needs for this year's? and you buy the idea that he/she should add it to his/her app. Without prove nor claims for that child. Well, I have said mine. It all depends on the Visa officer, but I'll say that again. It will raise red flag to your visa application. All the best! |
phemmzy96:Hello Sir/Ma, You are not legally married and you have a son. I'm sorry that won't add any advantage to your TRV application. I don't see any reason adding such to your application, it will raise eye brows and visa officer will question such act and your intend to study. I have come across a particular GCMS Note where such was noted (APPLICANT NOT LEGALLY MARRIED BUT HAVE A CHILD, APPLICANT APPEARS TO BE USING STUDY PERMIT AS A MEANS TO FACILITATE RELOCATION TO CANADA. BASED ON THIS I'M NOT SATISFIED THAT APP IS A GENIUNE STUDENT, THAT WILL COMPLETE A COURSE OF STUDY IN CANADA AND DEPART. REFUSED!!!) Ask yourself this, you are travelling to study in Canada and you have a son that is dependant on you, what is his fate? Do you intend leaving him here being stranded without care until you finish your 4 years academic program. I want to believe you want to use him as your home tie right? I must tell you that you don't have any legal claims/prove/evidence that he is truly your *SON* My candid advice is you shouldn't add such to your application, it will lead to your visa been denied. If you decide to go by that route, i'll best suggest you are legally married. So you can be able to claim the little boy as your SON by LAW. I hope this helps All the best! |
Omonoba1981:Hello Sir/Ma, Your GCMS Note is talking about your HOME TIES and not dangons(as you refer it). Your app was refused based on HOME TIES. Also you have to check to your refusal letter too. *What was on your letter? *On what ground were you denied based on your refusal letter. Put more effort constructing a convincing SOP, that will portary you as a genuine student that will complete a course of study in Canada and depart. Below are possible ways to tackle home ties as a reason for refusal of study permit. 1-)Do you have any family landed property in your name, this can serve as a hometies. 2-)Are you married with kids. Your spouse can serve as your hometie. 3-)Do you have any job offer awaiting you in NIgeria after completion of your studies in Canada 4-)Do you have any registered operating business back home(it also a home tie) 5-)Your family members. I hope this helps. All the best! |
hadeytee:Well, it will be best to submit your personal bank statements for 4-5 months, this will be fine. *VERY IMPORTANT* Make sure the said monthly inflow and outflow of payment(salary) appears on your bank statement, because the Visa officer will always spot on them. Point of correction Sir/Ma, you are not bothering me. We are all here to achieve a goal, Help, Learn from each other. So, feel free to ask questions that needs clarification. All the best! |
