Jus4c: Good morning, house. I just got admitted into the Industrial Engineering Program of University of Windsor. I have gotten a TRV (last till 2023) already just for the purpose of visit. How does one go about the Study Permit process? Thanks If I understand your question clearly you've been granted an admission into the University of Windsor for Masters in Industrial Engineering and now seeking for advices from the experienced folks in here on how to prepare an airtight study permit application as well as the list of required documents which you will be needing during the process?. Please refer to my post for LIST OF DOCUMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL CANADA STUDY VISA APPLICATION: . FYI; TRV means - Temporary Resident Visa, I can see you also mentioned that you've gotten that too in your post, which is contradictory with your question. I hope you find the information helpful. It will end in praises |

mantleouchtele: Hello Frankrobben/Moderators
Many Thanks for your response on Nairaland.
I have sent a webform to CIC and i have received the generic response that there will be 90days extension on all pending documents.
My School is resuming on the 11th of May and we have been advised to start the program online, we will start with one course and then by September we will continue with the other courses ON-Campus. My question is
1. What if VFS is still not collecting passport by May which is the start of the program due to the COVID -19. Do I need to get a New letter of Acceptance or any other Document from the school and upload via webform since i have not gotten my Visa stamped and its past the May resumption date.
2. If i am able to submit the passport and travel in July/August for instance since the On-CampusClasses start in September, do i need to get another letter from the school to show at the POE(Point of entry border)since my Letter of Acceptance shows May as resumption Date
Many Thanks as I look forward to your responses I hope this response finds you well and healthy. Accept my congratulations on your visa approval. In response to your inquiries regarding class registration for Spring & Summer 2020 term, which will be offered through distance learning and online teaching platforms in the school, I would like to advise you with the following student categories: a. Students who are currently holding a valid “study permit” and in compliance with the conditions on it, are eligible to register for Spring & Summer 2020 term through distance learning and online teaching platforms in any of the institution in Canada. b. Students who are currently abroad but only have a valid visa, who have not entered Canada and not received their study permit yet, are not eligible to register for Spring & Summer 2020 term through distance learning and online teaching platforms in the school. This implies that you're not eligible for online classes since you're yet to be issued a VISA /Study permit on your passport. Consequently, its expected of you to get an updated letter of acceptance for the fall 2020.Now pertaining to your subsequent questions; Q1-) In view of the fact that you've already gotten a request to submit your passport. You DON'T need to send a new letter of acceptance via webform to IRCC considering your application has been finalized and a decision has been made. If IRCC eventually request for any additional document from you ( which I strongly doubt at this juncture), you should provide proof of your enrollment into the school which is the admission letter and tuition receipt for the accepted term. It is important to note that IRCC has given prospective applicants the opportunity to file for an extension of 90days for non-compliance of requested documents from their office due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic virusQ2- As earlier said, documents to evidence your enrollment into the school must suffice at the point of entry (POE). In this regard, the school should provide you with an updated letter of acceptance and tuition receipt (if applicable) which you will present to the immigration officer at the POE. In summary, when travelling make sure your acceptance letter for the Fall semester is handy. You're not eligible for the May intake at this point because you don't have a VISA yet.I hope this information helps. It will end in praises. |

Luckymama: Good day all. Please a question regarding SOP. I read somewhere about the need to include a study plan in your SOP. Please what type of information should be included as part of the study plan? Don't get it wrong okay!.... Study Plan is the same as the regular Statement of purpose (SOP). Its individual preferences that led to several applicants inter-changing the names so as to suit their needs. Please be properly guided that both letters are same thing and serve same purpose. Statement of purpose (SOP) Personal Statement (PS) Letter of explanation (LOE) Study plan (SP) Letter of clarification (LOC)........ All serve the same immigration purpose which is explaining the situation of your application for the visa officer comprehension. It will end in praises. |

Adetunji001: Goodday everyone.
I am confused here as to the best method to use for my sop.
I am about writing my Sop right now, but i would like to know which is better between using subtopics to explain, in details, my points or just paragraphs.
Please which one would be ideal for an excellent Sop? Whichever way works.... Using subtopics or paragraphs. The most important thing is that your letter conveys to the visa officer your bonafide intent to pursue the program in Canada and return to your country of citizenship. I usually advice first time applicant, to stick to 2-3 pages when drafting their letter. Your letter should be well-detailed, concise and straight to the point. It will end in praises. |

mantleouchtele: Dear Moderators
Thank you for all that you do. May God bless and reward you.
Please I need your advise, I have received my Original Passport Request letter for my online student application but when I went to the Vfs office here in Abuja Nigeria to submit my passport I was informed that they are no longer collecting passport for now. My questions are:
1) I received the letter on the 19th of March and I have 30days to submit the passport, would the period of passport submission be extended I am supposed to resume school May 4th....
2)Someone advised I send my passport via FedEx to CIC in Ottawa Canada for Stamping. Can I send it?
3)in case the school defers to September because of the travel restrictions caused by covid 19, would my Visa be extended by IRCC to cover the duration of study.
Please I would really appreciate your kind response.
Best Regards Q1-) Please submit an submit extension application online on IRCC’s website using the webform. IRCC has stated that it will not refuse applications for non-compliance and it will continue to process applications that are in progress at its case processing centres in Canada and around the world. Moreover, when it comes time to submit biometrics, applicants will actually have 90 days to complete this step instead of the usual 30 days. Q2-) Don't dare to send your passport via a courier service for whatsoever reason. Please file for an extension via the IRCC webform. Q3-) Yes, a visa is a document that gives you entry to and fro of Canada. A visa doesn't determine your stay in Canada. Upon landing after the pandemic Virus, you will be issued a study permit at the point of entry and it will cover for the entire period of your stay in Canada with extra 6 months. I hope this helps. It will end in praises. |

Kinzeerichy: Good Morning. Thanks for helping out the last time. I just got another admission for LLM at the University of Western Ontario with $20.000 funding out of $30,000 tuition for the 1 year.
Compared to my first LLM admission at University of Victoria, BC with $2,000 out of $7,500 (with a hint from a friend in Uvic that I’d be given $5,000 upon resumption), and assuming Usask and Calgary aren’t coming (although I’m positive), which is better between Uvic and UWestern for TRV and living expenses purposes.
Thank you. If you seek my opinion, I would suggest you go for the school with the highest proportion of funding which is University of Western Ontario with $20.000. |

Mapple90: I had 3rd class bachelor degree from Nigeria and currently studying master in Turkey but due to some reasons, i wish to proceed to canada to do post graduate diploma or post graduate certificate, is this a good move? I have attempted to secure admission to continue my masters but was refused by universities. What is my chances of securing a study permit for college postgraduate diploma or certificate. It's a good move to proceed for a post graduate diploma program considering you graduated with a lower grade (third class). Your chances of securing a Canadian visa boils down to the rationality content of your letter of explanation which would detail why you choose to further your education in the said program in Canada, why you can no longer finish up with your masters program in Turkey, the lucrativness of this post graduate diploma program to your career and your home country, if there is a link between previous and current program, explain its connectedness etc. It will end in praises. |

younghero2: Thanks. Right now, i have gotten some of the documents I need, like bank statement of account. Payslips employment letter and study leave grant from company.. police character report. School offer letter and tution deposit. I have also gotten my land documents. My challenge now is to write my SOP. I dnt have the experience on how to write this.
Secondly I will like to know, do i also have to do my medical now, or would that be on a later stage of the application.
Finally, do i have to apply online, or on paper. I heard if u apply online, u don't get to submit as much documents as u would want to. There are several SOP's you can find on the internet that will guide you on what to put up in your own letter. However by so doing, also try to avoid plagiarism because it's a serious offence. I prefer applicants should wait until medical request instruction has been sent to them from IRCC, as this shows a positive signal that the applicant's application is likely to be approved. On the other account, you can undergo an upfront medical exam if you've limited time for school resumption. I would also suggest you go for online application in view of the fact that you can submit your application at your convenience and the online application process is pretty straightforward and less stressful... To crown it all, paper and online route none is BEST!, it's your decision to select which suits you the most. It will end in praises |

ndubuisi1213: Greetings fam, a similar case with Eguoski...
This is a second application. Was denied last year on October...i submitted 7days ago, forgot to tick yes ( left it No) the column that says if I have been denied visa in the past in the process... I have never been denied any visa any where apart from last year October( my first app).
Although in my letter of explanatory I address the reasons for refusal ( purpose of visit and family tie both in canada and Nigeria )
Today will make it one week I submitted my application...
Should i send a mail? Need an advice fam No need to panic!.This is a very easy situation that can be handled. Simply fill the updated IMM1294E form stating clearly that you've been denied visa in the past and write a brief statement in the space provided via the webform. You should be fine. He also included volunteer reference letters that also strengthened my home ties, since the VO was not satisfied I will leave Canada after studies. My brother I forever remain indebted to you.
