IboBoyNuel:The Canadian Immigration law doesn't consider far distant relatives like (maternal uncle, aunts, cousins etc) as a close relation. The only set of individuals that are seen as close relatives are - Spouse, kids, parents and slightly siblings. Following this, the answer to that question should be NO, because uncle can never sponsor you to become a permanent resident of Canada in any of the Canadian's immigration programs. |
ChidimmaP:It's an informative link that will be helpful to others. So you shouldn't be scared of been banned by the moderator of this thread. |
MICHV1:The TRV DOCTOR of all time (2016/2017) on this thread. I officially welcome and acknowledge your presence here. It's a great pleasure to you've around today. |
Graced08:Thanks for the info. My best wishes are with you in your application. |

oyinlove15:Why not try McGill Master's of finance Program? It's also a good one |
tofo:I regret to hear that your sister's visa application was rejected based on financial insufficiency to cover for her tuition, living expenses and transportation to Canada. In light of the above reason, my best suggestion is that your sister should create a well constructed financial table in her SOP and provide a detailed breakdown of her annual expenses and the total funds available for her stay. She should also explain how these funds will be spent and her accessibility to the funds in her Sponsor's account. Sponsor should also state in his Sponsorship letter the amount he will providing her during her first academic year and a written assurance that funds will be available and accessible by the applicant at any given period of her stay in Canada. Lastly, sponsor should certify the visa officer that financing the applicant's stay in Canada wouldn't pose to be a burden to his immediate family, business or personal welfare. It will end in praises |
KrystalDesign:It's no longer a news that GCMS note now takes 90days to be delivered. This is as a result of the huge request/demand been placed for it by prospective applicants. Applicants that can't wait for their notes to arrive in three (3) months time, can work with the generic reasons that were highlighted on the refusal letter and demonstrate how their current situation has substantively changed. It will end in praises. |
ralfudoh:You can say that again and again.... First time EVER!!!!. This season (starting from September-December) haven't been a good one for Nigerian applicants. |
lukzy500:For the fact that you got the police character certificate at the rate of 5k, doesn't mean that one can't get it below that price. The OP should contact the woman/officer's number that I pasted, she does it for 3k. Also you all should be properly informed that police clearance certificate (PCC) is NOT a compulsory requirement for a Temporary Resident Visa applications if you haven't travelled out of your home country. Including one doesn't make any difference/impact in your application. Unless you've travelled and stayed over 6 months in a foreign country, then it's important to include it. |

insmike:Go for online is cheaper and stress free. Why do I say so?; because you can submit your application at your convenience, then book for an appointment for your biometrics. |
Urielbam:Haven't you received the letter until now? All this while have you tried sending an email to Kenya, Nairobi Immigration office as I suggested earlier? |
Godiswonderful:It depends on the school and the program you're apply to. For a post graduate diploma program, admission process takes minimum of 3-5 weeks. Whilst, a master's program can take as long as 1-5 months. As I said, it depends on the school and program. |
Phatkings:Not compulsory to do so. However, if you have it there is no harm including it. |
Ubah007:At most 2-3 weeks after submission you should receive your passport back. If it stays longer than this stipulated timeframe, then your application has been shifted for a secondary review at the Canadian embassy in Lagos. |
Godiswonderful:The time to apply is NOW. We have 6 months left to the spring, May semester. Applying now will give the visa officer ample time to process your application and also prepare for your trip. |
Ginaruby:This happens occasionally and it's not something you should be worried about. In view of this, I would suggest you send a CSE to the Kenya (Nairobi) Immigration office via this email - nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca explaining the delayed refusal letter from their office. The subject of the mail should bear URGENT, along side your FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH. Also send your enquiry via THE NAIROBI WEB FORM. |
Linzo:Linzo, What pleasure do you derive from bringing up insubstantial contributions that kept derailing this thread each time you're here? You acted the same way last year in 2018 and here you're this year exhibiting same attitude. With due respect Sir, this is a public forum, and thus no one is in competition with anyone here. So why can't you go straight to the point and give your advice without being offensively defensive with your comments? On Saturday you came up with the debate that applicants that graduated from lesser institutions in Nigeria have lower chances of securing TRV to Canada and today you're here again saying that bank statement with a 3-4M closing balance in a Sponsor's account would fly for study visa and that it is a stipulated requirement by IRCC... Please where in IRCC official website, was this information published?. I want to believe that you must be a comedian, because your comments here are extremely amusing to me. I still wonder the pleasure you derive from irrelavant arguments/debates that is outside of the discussion this thread was originally created. Meanwhile, I'm delighted to welcome you back here again. You're such a hilarious dude to roll with. We hope to see more of you here. It will end in praises |
Josade69:The money should be in your Sponsor's account statement since he is the bona-fide owner of the funds. Unless in a situation whereby he is a third party Sponsorship and thus wants to show his financial commitment towards sponsoring your education and stay in Canada, then he can transfer both your tuition and living expenses into your account and also provide his bank statement to proof that the funds was originally raised from his account. Again, his bank statement with a closing balance of 6.5M is very low, what about his dependants (wife and kids), his personal welfare and business?. In reality no sponsor will spend more than half of his funds to sponsor a candidate and have 1.5M left for himself. To me, it doesn't sound convincing. Hence, your sponsor should build his account statement to a reasonable sum before applying for your study visa. It will end in praises. |
Olayinkaji:I'm thy humble servant to command. We are all gathered here for a purpose, which is to assist each other's and acquire vital information that would be helpful in our various applications and thus everyone should be treated equal without hierarchy. I feel more comfortable when people refer me as Frank, not Sir .... However, I'm glad you find the little piece of information useful. All the best with your application. |
Olayinkaji:Yup! You're absolutely on track bro. Once you're done with the post graduate diploma (PGD) you can file for your post graduate work permit (PGWP) within Canada which will enable you gain Canadian work experience that will aid you tremendously in acquiring your PR. When you've successfully secured your PR in Canada, you can then decide to further for your master's degree and pay your tuition fees at a cheaper rate as a permanent resident holder. It will end in praises |
Miide2:You applied for your visa and your application has exceeded the estimated processing times for Nigerian applicants after completing medicals? Below is a sample mail written by me, send it across to Kenya, Nairobi Immigration office via this email; nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca so they could expedite the processing of your application. APPLICATION EXCEEDED THE NORMAL PROCESSING TIMES Dear Sir/Ma, I am writing to notify you that my application for a study permit which was submitted on the DD/MM/YYYY has exceeded its 6th weeks of estimated processing times. I am a successful candidate for the Master of XXXXXXX program at the University of XXXXXXX for the Winter 2020 academic session, which will be commencing on the 6th of January, 2020. I have successfully undergone the medical examination on the DD/MM/YYYY that was requested by Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on the DD/MM/YYYY I am deeply worried about the delayed update on the status of my study permit application and I fear that I may lose my admission for the Winter 2020 academic session because University of XXXXXXX does NOT offer any option for deferral to a spring start date or a late January start date on its Master of XXXXXXX program. Please kindly bear in mind the challenges of making travel plans and settling down in a new country as an international student. Thus, I humbly appeal that my application is processed and finalized and a decision communicated to me within the shortest timeframe possible before the resumption date of my program. Thank you immensely for the efforts that has been put in so far and the progress gained in my application. I earnestly anticipate your kind response. Yours Sincerely, XXXXXXXXXXX I hope this helps? My best wishes are with you. It will end in praises. |
librangyps:You're such a smart lady! Thumps up to you! |
Urielbam:During the time of your application process, did you link your application online?. You need a refusal letter from the embassy before a tuition refund can be carried out by the school in Canada. Since you didn't receive this letter, I would suggest you send a CSE to the Kenya (Nairobi) Immigration office via this email nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca explaining the delayed refusal letter from their office. The subject of the mail should bear URGENT, along side your FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH. Also send your enquiry via THE NAIROBI WEB FORM. It will end in praises |
Olayinkaji:The answer to this question depends upon your highest level of education. Let's take for example, assuming you've a bachelor's degree and graduated with a 2.1, your best bet is to apply for a direct master's program in a field that is in tandem with previous/current job role. On the other hand, if you finished from the University with a 2.2 or third class, then you should be looking at applying for a post graduate diploma/Certificate program. Personally, I wouldn't advice you to go for an ordinary diploma because this drastically reduces your chances of securing TRV. |
Fummieluv:The discussion on this thread is strictly for Study Visa. Please refer to theEXPRESS ENTRY THREAD for further information/guidance. |
kennykentipsy:Room and board should be filled as $10,000CAD, Whilst OTHERS is meant to be $3,000CAD. |
sotonte18: sotonte18:Congratulations your visa has been granted! Go forth and prosper in Canada. |
sotonte18:Yes! Did you receive any email as such? Congratulations your visa has been granted. |
Linzo:Linzo, I can remember your moniker last year 2018 and the attention your several posts always draw on this platform which mostly derails the thread with series of debates. I'm sorry to say that this information is practically misleading and shouldn't be pasted here to discourage applicants that finished from lesser institutions in Nigeria. For your information, I know several applicants on this thread that graduated from the so called Convenant University, Unilag, Uniibadan and UNN etc..... with even full funded scholarships, but were refused of their visas lately. In a bid not to intrude into someone's privacy without formal consent, I will not call out their names on this public window. Now, It might also interest you to know that the main reason for the recent high visa refusal rate for Nigerian applicants is due to the quota system which is been monitored and observed on yearly basis by the Canadian Immigration Officers to control enormous influx of immigrants into the country and nothing else. This has absolutely got nothing to do with applicants previous learning Institution rankings. Please let's always get our facts right before posting any information on this platform, in view of the fact that people from different races, countries, do visit here to seek guidance that might be helpful in their application. Prospective applicants who were recently refused of their visas please be properly guided and start preparing for a reapplication in 2020. It will end in praises. |
Sumji:It's fine bro; You shouldn't have gone far to share with me your letter of acceptance here. I was only skeptical about the MSc (thesis based program) which you mentioned in your previous post that was given to you by the University. Thanks for providing clarity to the house that it was an MEng program not MSc. I respect your simplicity and truthfulness. I wish you the very best in your application. It will end in praises. |
