Useful1: Hello great people, Please my question may not relate directly to the thread but I believe many people here can give me the best answer.
I'm on the application process for a Canadian visa (not students visa) but was asked how many persons in my family e.g. spouse, partner, etc and how much I'll be bringing to Canada for their upkeep?
I'm single but have siblings (most of my sisters are married). If I include all of them we may be about 10 persons. What's the chance of getting visa if I include all of them considering that the amount I need to state should be higher? Or should I just make it myself and the current amount I have?
Thanks guys The question is actually referring to married couples (spouse and kids) and not your parents or siblings as the Canadian immigration have more regard for partners and their kids. Since you're single, you're meant to fill one (1) person in the form, which is you the principal Applicant and provide proof of funds for yourself alone. This is a common question been thrown at applicants who are applying for a permanent residency of Canada. |

And I saw this. Wanted to know if everything is as it should be?. Cheers
Good morning everyone. Everything looks good in your application as your background check and Review of eligibility are running concurrently. The background check will be completed soon and you should expect to hear from them before the end of the month. |

Biot34: Good day I was denied a Canada study visa based on this reason I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your current employment
Please how can I respond to this situation if I want to reapply I regret to hear your study VISA to Canada was delayed. At a glance, I feel there is more to the generic reason that was highlighted by the visa officer. As a consequence, I would advice that you shouldn't only focus on the aforementioned reason, but also cover other important aspects which the Visa officer uses to evaluate the overall admissibility of a Temporary Resident Applicant. The three (3) criteria's used by the visa officer while processing an application are namely; Your home ties to Nigeria, Financial Sufficiency and Purpose of Visit. Majority of applicants who got their VISAS rejected have made the mistake of tackling just the current reason for refusal while neglecting other importants areas of their application, which at the end gets rejected on a different/fresh grounds. Hence my advice that you should leave no stone unturned this time. I wish you the best in your next application. |

ChibuGP: Hello everyone, please I am really new on this canada thread. I noticed this is thread 16,and I'm far behind on what must have been discussed on previous thread and posts, but I believe I can get simple straight and precise answers for my questions here. Can I apply to study in canada with 2.2 bachelor degree in Sociology/Anthropology for a masters program in sociology? The minimum tertiary admission requirement for a master's program in Canada is 2.1. Thus, your best shot should be a post graduate diploma. |

Miztafrank: Good pm to the travel gurus in the house. I want to apply for a polytechnic in Canada. I am a graduate of geography and meteorology. Finished service in 2016, then joined my family importation biz with plans to further my education later. I want to apply for office administration, for Jan 2020 session. Fees are intact. Just wondering about my chance for visa. Welcome to the thread @Miztafrank. I hope you will find your stay here very educating and rewarding. Permit me to ask you, what's your CGPA like, and why do you intend to further your education in a polytechnic? With respect to your enquiry, I don't think it's advisable to apply for an admission for winter term, 2020 considering the the limited time to gain an acceptance and also to gather your documents for visa application. Your best bet here should be Spring (May) or Fall (September) 2020 as this will give you ample time to prepare yourself for a successful TRV application. Finally, no one can gurantee you the success of your application, do the right thing by applying with the required documents as per the IRCC document checklist and wait for the outcome of your application. |

meg123: Please, Guru in the House. My study permit got refused on two reasons below; I need sincere advise before I refire the application. I am currently working and it was stated in my application letter, with offer letter attached, even promotion letters was attached.. JD was also attached. I don't understand what the VO means as below: 1. Not satisfied you will leave Canada subsection 216 based on purpose of visit 2. Not satisfied you will leave Canada subsection 216 based on employment situation
Please, kindly advise.. Thanks I regret to hear your study visa was rejected. My best advice for you is to sit down, construct a convincing letter of explanation with relevant documentation/proof that will tackle those generic reasons that were highlighted on your refusal letter as well as explaining your home ties to Nigeria. Leave no stone unturned this time. At the end, pray for grace and reapply. |

I can perceive that your thirst for relevant academic knowledge in business is indescribable and I trust your SOP will do justice to above statements given by you. Nonetheless, that hasn't answered my questions. Who is the guarantor/sponsor of your study in Canada? What is your current job role? SOP and LOE - are the same thing and serve the same purpose. It depends on individual preferences. Some prefer SOP to serve as a study intent, why the program and why Canada not NIGERIA, career goals etc.. Whilst, LOE - will be to tackle the concerns of the visa officer raised in their previous refused application. So the onus is dependent upon you to decide whether to use LOE or SOP in your application. |

Jaylap: @ Frankrobbn,Naijaforeigner,Justmellow,Austacus, Mcobex, Makano, Obehi... Please what next! I noticed my medical results has been under review since last week Friday which I did not submit my application with upfront medicals. So I was advised to go for upfront medicals and I got all the tests including X-ray done today. My application will just be 3 weeks on Saturday. As at May-July, 2018 applicants who got this exact update like yours via their MyCIC account were laterly requested to undergo a medical exam by IRCC. However in this recent times, things have drastically changed as IRCC (Kenya VO) proves themselves to be unpredictable beings, even though we try our possible best to gather information on how they operate. My best advice is you shouldn't undergo a medical exam since they haven't requested for it. Take a chill pill, wait until they have instructed you to do so. If your application remains like this for 2 weeks from now. You can raise a CSE to Kenya VO, demanding that a medical update should be sent to your MyCIC Account. I know few persons that did this and it worked out for them. In the interim be positive. It shall end in praises PS: Since you've done the medicals already, send a copy of the E-medical slip to Kenya (Nairobi) Immigration department via this email: nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca The subject of the mail should bear URGENT, along side the applicant's FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH. Also send the E-medical slip via THE WEB FORM. |

It's illegal to work before school enrollment, when caught in such an ACT you're at risk of been deported back to Nigeria or face problems when applying for your PGWP. Many Nigerians work before the start of school. So, It's possible but the work will be a labour focused type of job and the mode of payment will be in CASH and not Direct Bank Deposit. |

1stdami: It's clearly stated on the GCMS request page
They are experiencing a huge number of GCMS request (due to refusal of course) so there might be a delay. With the recent rejections for study visa applications from Nigeria. If anyone should seek for my opinion, I see no need ordering for GCMS note most especially when the refusal is from Kenya, Immigration office as these VO's at the Canadian embassy tend to copy and paste GCMS notes for every refused applicant.... Using the word - "Vague and Poorly documented Study Plan,.....Taking the applicant plan of studies into account, the applicant doesn't appear to be sufficiently well-established that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense,......... Given family ties or economic motives to remain in Canada, the applicant's incentives to remain in Canada may outweigh their ties to their home country.........According to the applicant's current or future employment prospects, I have accorded less weight to their employment ties to their country of residence.... Based on the information, I am not satisfied applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay"..... as a reason for a visa refusal. I can outrightly attest that if 100 person's were rejected of their VISA'S lately, 98% if not all will see the above reason in their GCMS note. Hence, my put forward proposal that GCMS note is irrelevant at this point in time. PS: This post is open for any critics whatsoever. However, before doing so, make sure you're with your facts and figures. Whilst, I also present mine as well. This is my observation from so many applications and complaints I have been receiving from applicant's whose Applications were delayed. |

benque: What about Ghana immigration officers? Ghana Immigration Officers are presently in charge of processing Permanent Residency Applications for some Nigerian Applicants. They are known to be very slow in dishing out approvals and final decision and at same time good at requesting updated bank statements and payslips from PR applicants during VISA processing. Over the years and at the beginning part of last year, Accra VO were the ones processing study visas applications for Nigerian Applicants. Afterwards in March 2018, IRCC now handed over the power to Kenya and London VO. During this period of time in May-August 2018, London VO started facing heavy backlogs for applicants who applied via the online route, which kept so many applications for over a year. Therefore, In an attempt to reduce the workload for the London VO, In September 2018, Kenya VO was now officially crowned the prime visa office to be responsible of all temporary resident visas coming from Nigeria. I hope this info helps. Feel free to ask me anything, and I'll answer them accordingly. All the best |

waynee2baba: Lol after 11 weeks of waiting. I applied from London in July. I just finished my BSc in the UK. I had a first class too. A first class in Software Engineering at 19 and I was going for an OBJECT ORIENTED SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT programme for 8 months. More like a specialised vocational training programme. Today, I got refused due to purpose of visit and immigration status. At least the torment is over... F*CK CANADA AND THEIR IMMIGRATION POLICIES! I could have sworn I had the best SOP. Why deny me for immigration status? I was on a freaking TIER 4 VISA man. This is the end of this stupid struggle for me. UK has 2 year post-study work visa. If they had implemented this since, what would I be looking for in cold deserted Canada. I won't even rant about Nigeria. It's pointless. I'd be back to the UK next year. Oh so so sad to hear your application for a study permit of Canada was rejected; @waynee2baba. With your first class in the aforementioned discipline, your best shot could have been to secure a full funded scholarship in Canada rather than opting for an 8 months vocational training program, which is almost equal to your already completed degree. The visa officer would be seeing it from a wrong perspective that you're not a genuine student and probably using study permit as a means to facilitate your entry into Canada rather than educational advancement. Hence, your ability to convince the VO with your SOP would be very difficult considering your high CGPA. Great to hear you've other plans too and not restricting yourself to Canada. I pray and hope your back up plan favours you. It shall end in praises. |
