Obehi44:It's quite dishearten that over my three years of existence on this thread, I haven't seen such high refusal rate as this during this period of time (September and October). My candid advice to applicants who have tried study permit twice or thrice and still got rejected of their visas, is to explore other options of migrating to Canada like the EXPRESS ENTRY, AIPP, PNP'S etc.... The time you will spend waiting for a study permit over and over and been denied on several trials is enough to prepare you to attain a great score for an IELTS exam, evaluate your transcipts via WES, obtain your work reference letters from past and previous employers, create an active profile, receive an invitation to apply and subsequently file for your Permanent Residency Application. The truth of the whole thing is that so many applicants aren't well informed about other programs and it's requirements that can successfully land them in Canada. Because of this, they thought that study permit is the only possible way of migrating to Canada, hence their restriction to it. The time is now, start browsing through the internet and take advantage of other exciting immigration programs too..... Come to think of it, do you know with a permanent residency visa you're entitled to several benefits which includes - 1 – YOU CAN LIVE AND WORK ANYWHERE IN CANADA You will have the legal right to live and work anywhere in the country! If you start off in Montreal but you find a better job in Toronto, you will have every right to move. Permanent residents aren’t tied to a specific employer or a specific province unless you migrated through the PNP routes. 2 – YOU GET ACCESS TO UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE AND SOCIAL SERVICES All permanent residents have access to Canada’s healthcare and social services. Canadian healthcare is universal, this means that you will have access to free medical care! 3 – YOU CAN SPONSOR YOUR SPOUSE AND CHILDREN Once you are a permanent resident, you can apply to sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, and dependent children to join you in Canada. That said, if you immigrate through Express Entry, you can include your family on your initial application so you won’t have to sponsor them later on! 4 – YOU CAN BECOME A CANADIAN CITIZEN Becoming a permanent resident is the first step to becoming a Canadian citizen. Once you’ve resided in Canada for three out of five years, you’ll be eligible to become a citizen! 5 – IT CAN’T BE TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU Once you are a permanent resident, the status can’t be taken away from you, unless you commit a serious crime or you fail to meet your residency obligation. All permanent residents must stay in Canada for two out of every five years, otherwise they won’t be eligible to renew their status. 6. -- YOUR TUITION FEES WILL BE SAME AS A CANADIAN CITIZEN. Once you're permanent residence holder you wouldn't pay exorbitant tuition fees like an international student. Think twice guys! And do the right thing. Not everyone will migrate to Canada through the expensive route which is the study permit. Always remember to change the plan but, not the goal. I wish you all the best! |
muyiwaakeredolu:Can you justify your reasons for wanting to spend so much for an MBA foundation with a 2.2 CGPA when you qualify for a direct post graduate diploma in business management. |
danfash09:There is a delay in receiving GCMS note this recent times due to high request for it from prospective permanent resident applicants and refused temporary resident applicants (study visa, visitors and work permit). Hence, there is an extension of 90 days in getting a gcms note. |
echelonfashion:It's not compulsory to write an LOE provided that the SOP have adequately tackled ALL the concerns raised by the visa officer in the GCMS note as well as the generic refusal grounds.. On the other hand, if the SOP hasn't done justice to the refusal reasons stated, then an LOE should suffice. |
echelonfashion:Police clearance certificate is not a compulsory requirement. Not including any in your application doesn't have any effect on your application. You can go ahead and submit other supporting documents to further buttress the fact that you will leave Canada at the completion of your studies. |
NomzyJust:$150CAD for reapplication (denied visa applicant's). First time applicants pay $235CAD which includes biometrics and application fees. |
holllowu:This question was answered last week by me PLEASE REFER TO THIS POST. |
akinolato:You can go ahead with your plans. It's not late to apply for Visa against winter term. |
Sumam:There is no straight procedure for paper route application. Simply gather the required and supporting documents as per the IRCC document checklist via IRCC WEBSITE., Walk down to VFS at Lagos or Abuja, whichever is close to you and submit your application. You're expected to book an appointment prior to undergoing an upfront medical exam. You will be given two weeks interval from the date you booked the appointment. Police Character Clearance is processed at CID headquarters, Alagbon Ikoyi, Lagos. It cost 5k depending on your bargaining skills. |
MartOkoh1:You've got a great CGPA that can secure you a full funded scholarship in Canada. Have you tried checking schools like Simon Fraser University, University of Waterloo, University of Ottawa, Ontario Technical University for their master's in Elect/Elect Engineering. These schools offer outstanding scholarship awards to international students, you might want to check them out. All the best |
Miide2:There is a huge progress in your application. Following this, I would suggest you raise a CSE to the Kenya, Nairobi Immigration Office explaining to them that you've provided the documents they requested for on the DD/MM/YYYY and since then there haven't been any staggering response from their office as well as clearly stating that your application has exceeded the estimated processing times for Nigerian Applicants and further requesting that they should expedite the processing of your VISA. Lastly, thank them for the time devoted to the processing of your application. CONTACT : The Kenya (Nairobi) Immigration department via this email: nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca The subject of the mail should bear APPLICATION UPDATE, along side the applicant's FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH. Also send your enquiry via THE NAIROBI WEB FORM. All the best |
segzyndpep:Your colleague can transfer the money to you. However you need to briefly explain in your letter of explanation (LOE), the origin of the sudden lump sum deposit into your account as at the time of Application submission. If your friend will be sponsoring your education, a letter of financial support from him would suffice to further buttress the source of this funds. |
Francology41:Generally it takes between 6-8 weeks. |
vhictor3:THE REASON GIVEN IN THE GCMS NOTES CAN BE SEEN AND ALREADY EXPLAINED HERE.. |
ladymarshall:Congratulations to you @ladymarshall, I admire the great works you've been doing on this window. I wish you the very best in Canada. |
benque:The "S" in front simplifies - (Study) VISA and should be included when ordering your GCMS note. From my correspondents and active participation in several Canadian Visa forums (both Temporary, Provincial Nomination Programs and Permanent Residency Visa applications), I noticed that there is a recent delay and an extension of 90days in receiving GCMS note due to high demand for it, applicants now have to wait for two-three months before getting their notes. Hence, if your resumption is for the winter, 2020 waiting for your GCMS note before reapplication isn't an ideal step to take. You're better off tackling the reasons raised, following the current generic GCMS note being used by the visa officers and include new documentations that would considerably demonstrate that your present situation has substantively changed. Unless, you're not for the winter term, then you've to wait for the note to arrive before reapplying. |
benque:Sorry about the outcome of your application. I will have to refer you to MY POST AS AT 2017 on this thread, where I adequately addressed the refusal grounds used against your application. Also CHECK OUT THIS POST (PART 9) .After going through these posts and feel unsatisfied, you may return here to ask questions of any kind, and I will do my best to provide answers to them. It shall end in praises. |
Useful1:Amen! Thank you Boss. I'm grateful Sir. |
JOEFLAMES123: JOEFLAMES123: JOEFLAMES123:Boss, how may I be of help to you Sir?. I just responded to your request. |
NwanyiOkpa:Your sponsor Statement of Account is required here. Its not advisable to state that you're not gainfully employed as at the time of your application unless you're a fresh graduate then you can indicate NYSC or probably volunteering (non-paid) in an organization as your current job. |
NwanyiOkpa:Every Application is unique and as such you shouldn't because of the recent high rejection rate doom yourself into secret misery by choosing not to pursue your precise goals. What works for Mr. A might not work for Mr. B as there is no blueprint that works for this VISA thingy. My best advice is you should go ahead and apply for an admission, once you've successfully being accepted, seek guidance here, gather your documents and file for your application and finally, hope for the best.. |
Desmondola2020:Your profile looks good to merit a study Visa. However, considering the fact that the visa officer's at the Canadian embassy are not custodian's of knowledge you need to accurately explain your study intent to Canada, how these properties/Assets will motivate your departure after studies. I feel you need to invest more exertion in your SOP as the previous rejected study plan wasn't able to give a straightforward reason as to why you would incur such huge cost for a program that is attainable here in Nigeria at a cheaper rate. |
Desmondola2020: Desmondola2020:I regret to hear your study visa was rejected. - After careful review of your application, the GCMS Note and supporting documents presented by you. I deduced that you didn't adequately explain in a succinct and convincing way as possible in your SOP that you're well-established in Nigeria that your course of studies would be a reasonable expense, which prompted the vague and poorly documented study plan. - You have also failed to convince the visa officer that your economic ties (registered business) far outweighs that of Canada. - How were you able to explain your limited travel history? The aforementioned are vital criterions put forward by the visa officer that led to the refusal of your study permit. Thus, Below are my advices for you in your next application with hope that the visa officer will consider your application to merit a study visa. PURPOSE OF VISIT First, I will suggest that you put more effort in constructing a persuasive and concise SOP/LOE that will demonstrate that you're a bona-fide applicant and would depart upon the completion of your studies. The SOP should extensively and convincingly explain the lucrativeness and reasonableness of such program (MBA) in your home country considering it's exorbitant tuition fees. If it is financially rewarding back here in Nigeria that can offest the cost of the program in Canada. The range of opportunities the program in Canada will bring to you as a person. What you intend to achieve in a short-term and long-term basis. Since you claim to have a registered and functioning business, you should explain that this business is of utmost importance to you, and going to Canada is solely to advance your career prospects so you could expand your business into a global brand. Also state the difference you could make when you return to your country e.g you being a business consultant in the long-term by providing critical business solutions to multinational companies and government as well as using your business for creation of wide range of employment opportunities for teeming youths in your home country etc... HOME TIES Also attach proof of properties located in your country of residence preferably in your name(or parent's name that you're directly heir to). These assets could be land, house or a registered business etc.. Additionally, explain in your SOP that your immediate family members (aged parents, siblings, spouse and kids) is well off in Nigeria and aren't accompanying you to Canada. Go as far as mentioning the things you share in common with your siblings that would warrant your departure after duties. If you have any financial obligations or moral responsibilities which falls on you as a leader in any of these organizations - military, community, church and family you should indicate that you will return home to continue active participation and attendance in meetings. Therefore, as a matter of urgency, it is expected of you to come back to Nigeria to occupy your position. (Following this, A letter from any of these bodies would help). The above points are your unwavering commitments back home and for this reason when adequately explained in your SOP/LOE should be sufficient to satisfy the visa officer that your economic incentives of coming back to Nigeria far outweighs that of Canada as stipulated in your GCMS Note! Travel history - is not a factual reason for a Canadian study visa refusal. Hence, you don't need to travel out from your home country before you can get your application approved. if you have not travelled before, you can simply explain to the Visa officer in your SOP that you don't like traveling or haven't thought of travelling abroad before. Hence, your reasons for wanting to travel abroad at this point in your life is to augment special worth to yourself and also because of how important this MBA program is to your career/business back home which would create lots of outstanding opportunities in your career and personal development etc........ I hope the above information sufficiently address the reason highlighted by the visa officer in your GCMS note, and will be able to guide you in attaining a successful reapplication. |
tosiiNO:It's better off if you don't eat. |
WalterC007:Sorry to hear you're passing through this at the moment. My best suggestion is that you raise a CSE explaining your situation and the delayed biometrics Instructions letter (BIL) from their office. CONTACT the Kenya (Nairobi) Immigration department via this email: nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca The subject of the mail should bear URGENT, along side the applicant's FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH. Also send your enquiry via THE NAIROBI WEB FORM. All the best |
dguyindcorner:Not compulsory but necessary to do so if you've any concerns that needs clarification in your application. |
Jephehe:A real alumnus doing what is expected of you! Well-done Bro! |
foliat:Yes any tuition deposit made to the school falls under funds available for your stay and should be included. |
