Good day all
Applied on 22 March
With upfront medicals
Biometrics update 2 may
Refusal advice 16th may

I have ordered for GCMS notes.
Hi chibertha,

I regret to hear your study visa to Canada was refused.
I have known your moniker for some time on this thread.... Could you provide clarity to the house the generic reasons that were stated on your refusal letter, the list of documents you submitted with your application and your proposed course of study and the financial provision for your studies in Canada.

Provide the aforementioned information and we will pick it up from there.

@frankrobbn1 good morning, i have a similar issue . Got a correspondence letter since 6th of may but there’s been no update on the application. Whether approval or refusal, please the application is four months already. It’s a paper application which means my passport has been held since January. Please help me out
Hi Damlovey,

The correspondence letter you received was it a biometrics validity letter which state that your biometrics is valid until a decade? Supposing you received this letter prior to a medical request, it simply means a decision has been reached on your application and your application is likely to be REFUSED

You’ve been really helpful.

I will send an email on Monday morning. My parents are telling me not to send the email yet as my application was peculiar. But I will prayerfully consider everything you’ve said.

Thank you! Also, you said you would send me a sample of the email to send.
Sending a CSE to the processing immigration office in charge of your application doesn't pose to be an act of desperation rather it speeds up the transmission of your passport since your application has already been approved.

Below are emails of the immigration offices you can contact;

- London Immigration office
LDNIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca

-. Lagos immigration department
lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca

- Kenya, Nairobi immigration office
nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca

As to the bolded I don't share my personalized mails or letters on a public forum in an effort to avoid plagiarism. If you deem it necessary, a private communication will do.

Hi
I submitted my passport on the 9th of May for stamping. Here’s a summary of the line of events that followed afterwards...

1. I saw a document update relating to the counter foil. I saw this update on my CIC account and it essentially stated the validity of my visa (17th May)

2. I received my correspondence letter (18th May)

3. I used the tracking tool to track my visa and noticed that it was ready for pickup as at 17th May.
Hey Sillysassysally,

Everything about you seems to move swiftly. Lucky you to have received your passport so soon. cool

Please what does this mean
Viewing your profile, your application is currently undergoing a background check;

BACKGROUND CHECK: means they are matching the information you provided with their records, if you previously committed a crime, refused a visa, ordered to leave a country and if you are a threat to their security or on a wanted watch list.

REVIEW OF ELIGIBILITY: is the final check and the final stage of your application at the Visa Office. At this point, all of the components of your application are assessed by CIC. They will be checking if you actually QUALIFY for a study permit and if your application meet the requirements of the IRCC Act.
During the eligibility review, the Visa officer will then request for medical check ups as needed by the Visa Office to complete your application.

Most times, it is the Review of Eligibility that some applicants fail to meet because their applications and conditions does not meet the requirements of the IRCC Act (Insufficient funds, course correlation, limited home ties, failure to convince the visa officer that the primary intention is to study). Other checks are just standard procedure for CIC.

After successful review of applicant application and considering that there were no serious issues in the medical checkup, mispresentation, and security to ensure that you will not be a danger to Canadians should your study permit be approved, the Visa Officer will then request for your passport.

Best of luck

Have you acquired a bachelor's degree in the past? Your best chance is to opt for a degree that is higher than your already completed one which is a PGD.

Do you know anyone who has done this? And if you do, how long after they sent the email did they receive their passport.

Also, my mum got her VISA in March in 4 days. Does this mean it went to Kenya and back in 4 days?
Yes I do know several applicants who experienced delay in getting their stamped visa passports back after an approval. It took 2 - 3 working days for their passport to be dispatched to the Visa application centre for collection.

As per your mom's case, it's the discretion of the embassy to select whether or not to transmit the passport to Kenya or stamp it in Nigeria, Victoria Island Lagos to be precise by using Kenya as the issuance office.

Hi guys. Pls I need assistance. I submitted an application since May 5th?up till today no biometric request. Status is submitted. Pls help am confused
Is this your second application? If yes, you don't need to submit your fingerprint to the visa application centre because your biometrics is valid until a decade time. On the other hand, assuming it's your first time of applying for a temporary resident visa to Canada, you're opt to pay for your biometrics fees $85 prior to the submission of your application. Normally, a biometrics instruction letter (BIL) drops within 24-48hrs after application submission. At this time if the above scenarios doesn't apply to you. Your sporting chance is to raise a CSE to the processing visa office Kenya to assist you with this issue nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca

Best of luck and keep the house posted.

When writing SOP after a refusal, do I start writing why I chose Canada, the school and the course..... or just explain only the points from the refusal reasons
Cross all T's and dot all i's. First and foremost, start by explaining extensively and persuasively the generic reasons that was stated on your refusal letter followed by some other reasons that were highlighted by the visa in his hidden file (CAIPS file). Once you're done, send a copy of the letter to a knowledgeable individual on this thread to vet and make correction where applicable before reapplying.

Sounds like a plan!

I thought the VISAs were printed in Lagos and not sent to Kenya? I applied online and got an original passport request May 1st. I submitted my passport on the 3rd of May and since then nothing. Mine wasn’t a student VISA though. It was for a TRV but I’m just searching all the forums to see if I’m the only person experiencing this delay.
The delay is currently everywhere as temporary resident visas from Nigeria are handled and transmitted to Kenya for visa processing. Send a CSE to them through this email -
nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca and also the Lagos immigration office via this email lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca

Hi Sally! Congrats!

I also submitted my passport and it’s been more than 10 working days since it’s been there with no tangible info. Can you please let me know how long yours took to pick up? It’s going on the 3rd week for me now. Submitted May 3rd, been to VFS several times and nothing!

Your response is much appreciated.
It appears the delay is real as I know of an applicant who submitted his passport 2 weeks ago and haven't received it back. Nonetheless, i advised the applicant to send a CSE to Kenya, Nairobi immigration office where the visa was processed, so they could expedite the transmission of his passport. I hope he will receive his passport next week. I would also suggest you do so as well.

PS: I can assist you with a sample of the mail you can send to them to hasten up the process.

Hello everyone, i really need advise from the gurus in d house.
I applied via online since June 10, 2018 for a student study permit. This month makes it a year since my application. My visa app is been processed at London office and I've sent countless mails to London VO and d MP of Scarborough in Ontario, (dts whr my skol is located) yet still no intervention nor reply from d VO.
Now, am considering withdrawing my application by mid June 2019 only if i still don't get any news from cic or London visa office so i can reapply again.
Please house, i need guidance as to wat to do abt this whole situation, cos this thing is really a lot to deal with. Mind u, i already ordered n received a GCSM note.
While applying 4d study permit, i didn't do any upfront medicals. Someone pls help a brother out with suggestions n how to go abt this
This isn't amusing.... 12 months, no medical request, no update and still counting?, I respect your tenacity to have waited this long. When applicants who applied as at that time are already studying in Canada and have completed their first academic calendar and proceeding to the 2nd year. My candid advice is that you should request for a withdrawal of your application as soon as you can. Your temporary resident application has stayed longer than ever expected. If a decision has already been made on your application, you won't be able to carry out the withdrawal until the final decision has been communicated to you. On the contrary, if there is no decision yet, your application fees will be fully refunded to the debit card where the money was originally generated. Some applicants got approved after sending a withdrawal request to the embassy while others ended up as a refusal. Trust me you have nothing to loose at this point.

Go for PGD rather than an undergraduate degree. By the way who is this solid sponsor? I hope he is related to you? Be properly guided that the Canadian visa officer's aren't moved a bit by your fat bank statements and bulky financial documents.

Hello guys, should I just write N/A or is there a better way to answer this:
6) Do you have academic prerequisites or work experience relevant to this program? If so, please list and provide evidence.
Why indicate Not Applicable? Don't you have any relevant work experience in your chosen field of study?

Assuming there is a strong correlation b/w your previous studies and intended and current job role, the below would be the best way to answer the question;

The academic prerequisite I have is a Bachelor of Science degree in.......... I have also worked in a ............ company (THE NAME OF COMPANY) that would benefit from my knowledge acquired after completing my MSc program. Afterwards, include your job reference letter and academic transcript to support your claims.

I hope this helps.

Secondly the form should it be printed out and signed or filled online and follow the signature style for online application
1. Designated Representative information is for the person in Canada.

2. Applicants information is your information...

You're expected to fill the two sections listed above electronically using your system/desktop, print, sign with a blue pen, scan and send it back to the person to append his/her signature.

Hello house!

Is there any downside to writing a SOP of 3 and half pages? If no, is there any downside as well using computer terminologies to show understanding of your chosen discipline?

I tried making it as concise as possible but new information keep popping up.

Justmellow? Qudkom? Anyone??

Thanks.
There is no specific pages an SOP should follow, provided that the information in the letter is well analyzed, coherent and concise it's acceptable. You can use computer terminologies but, also make sure the reader (the VO) understands the information you're passing across.

Nairaland Fam!
Thank you all for the congratulatory messages
The past couple of weeks has been an emotional rollercoaster! But knowing that we were all on a similar journey - each one at a different stage - was some sort of comfort.

I have gotten so many emails today alone and I’m afraid that I may not be able to reply all in due time, but I would encourage us to share the questions here. There are so many amazing people on this forum that are committed to helping people! Special shout out to all the people doing this! Cc JustMellow, Bracha, etc. I can’t mention you all, but it gives me great joy when I see how selfless you all are to helping out willingly! Only God can reward you all!
On this note, I want to especially thank Frankrobbn1 - this guy is so amazing! He was so interested and committed to helping me that I started to think he was working for IRCC as a spy… I want to also specially thank AAO7 – amazing person! First time I sent her an email, we moved to WhatsApp and chatted all through the night to about 1 am. It was nice having someone to gist with and to both share all the frustrations we faced with the entire process.

Finally, I want to say a word of prayer to all TRV hopefuls…
Dear God,
You are in control of every situation of our lives and you know every one of our needs, as well as the dear desires of our heart.
I pray that in your grace, mercy, favour, and love, you would allow the application of the hopefuls of this thread to be approved quickly and without delay.
Thank You because you are a God who hears and answers the prayers of your children when we come to You with open hands and a humble heart.
I pray in Jesus name, Amen.

IT SHALL END IN PRAISE!
Hello Sillysassysally,

Hahahahahaha grin grin @ the word Spy. You really made good use of the advices that was given to you. I can recall brilliantly how nervous you were about the prodigy loan you secured (the chances of securing a visa with loans), your school resumption date that was getting too close and the upfront medical report (that was yet to be updated on your MyCIC account) etc.... I am so so happy for you that it worked out positively in the long run. Congratulations once again on your crowning achievement. I am extremely delighted to be in the context of your TRV success story.

Congratulations to all those that have gotten their TRV and to those that were rejected, don't give up, restrategize and refire.

Thanks to the ABLE GENTS AND LADIES that have taken their precious time despite their busy schedules in answering and proferring solutions to questions pasted on this honourable platform. God bless you all for the awesome and selfless works you guys have been doing here. cool I shall be here from time to time to contribute my quota for the benefit of others.

It shall end in praises for everyone viewing this topic.
