I'm not exactly sure about how much GTs will be earning. What i quoted was just an estimate. You may add N3 to N4M p.a max.

As for the experienced, I said average pay in my post. Average because some jobs required 8 years experience and others 10 years. I dont expect both categories of staff to earn same pay.

As for those GTs that you said earn close to N9M p.a I can only lol. Cos i'm not sure any company outside the oil and gas sector pays that much. If you decide to respond to this, please specify the companies that pay GTs that much. Let me apply to those companies as a GT if only they will take me. LOL.

What makes you guys think they are waiting for the outcome of the Presidential elections? Why didn't they wait for the Presidential elections before inviting us for the interviews? My advice to yall is DO NOT DROP YOUR GUARD. ELSE YOU MAY BE CAUGHT PANTS DOWN!

Wherever and whenever NLNG is involved, there is no such thing as OVERPREPARATION. A word is enough for the wise.

I now understand that the figures you posted before were not exact tho u pronounced them with so much authority one may think it's the real deal. As for the GTs earning close to 9m p.a I do not mean fresh graduates for other companies but some prospective NLNG GTs that probably hav gained close to 5yrs work experience and as talents have earned themselves the high flyer status and gotten quick promotions. Remember also that it's going to 2 years since we all applied for this job and a lot can happen in that span of time.

I don't think NLNG will budge on the Q1 pact they have signed with us. They won't want to rubbish their integrity before miserly GTs. . I believe the stall in the recruitment process can be linked to the current political uncertainty that is tainting our nation this season.

Well at the level we are now I'm not sure there is anyone left in this race that isn't battle ready for the AC. For most of us the preparation mode will kick in when we start seeing invites for the event.
After all said we r surely keeping the hopes up cos we got nothing to lose but a lot to gain.

First of, I would like to commend yall for keeping the faith this long and for the espirit des corps yall have established and maintained on this thread for a long while now. This is in sharp contrast to the thread for experienced hires which I have sworn to abandon for the apparent 'you are on your own' syndrome displayed by the threadmates. The level of self centerdness exhibited on that thread is awful and also unbelievable. A few threadmates did not follow the norm tho. @Maxmayor and one or two other guys are examples.

I am not in anyway a harbinger of bad news but i would like to say a thing or two about this recruitment drive by NLNG. Please be warned that you may not find pallatable, what i'm about to say but hey, please feel free to disregard it.

The recruitment drive by NLNG has come under very serious threat following the crash in crude oil prices. We really need to pray for God's intervention in this matter. We have been interviewed since mid October 2014. The panelists told a few of us that they would communicate the outcome to us in 3 weeks. Three weeks turned into six weeks before we got some news from them and mind you the news wasn't about the outcome of the interview. Instead the mail read in summary that they were reviewing the result for management approval after which, they would get back to us in due course. This was on 27th November 2011. It will be ten weeks in a few days since we got the review news and sixteen weeks since we interviewed with them and nothing definitive has materialised.

My take on the issue is that they are carefully assessing the whole situation whether or not it makes any business sense embarking on a recruitment drive of that magnitude at this point in time. There has been about 58% drop in crude prices over the past few months. Assuming a proportionate drop in NLNG's revenue. With over 50% of their revenue gone with the wind, [b]is it now of all times that the NLNG management will then decide to hire about 150 graduate trainees with an approximate salary of about N9M p.a excluding other overheads like training costs etc etc. add this to about 40 experienced hires with an average salary of N22M p.a and we will be looking at about N2 Billion [/b]p.a spent on overheads! How can any management justify this vis a vis the recent events in the oil market This is what I feel is responsible for the delay in getting back to those of us interviewed since October last year.

Let us all wait till late QI as they promised in their mail to yall if they will invite you for the AC. If they do, then we will all have cause to celebrate because the NLNG management are defying the odds and are going ahead with the exercise. But if late Q1 elapses without any invitation from them, then we may conclude that this 'conspiracy theory' is valid afterall.

In the meantime, i would urge you all to intensify prayers as I have already been certified a true prayer warrior on this issue (the struggle for greener pastures just got real. Lol). We really need God's intervention in this issue. We need God to make the global oil market more favourable for the recruitment excercise to be concluded and not cancelled. And if it will take a while for the market situation to stabilise, let the NLNG management run the current recruitment exercise to a close rather than cancelling it and starting afresh.

Bros are you sure about these figures. The disparity between the pay packages for GTs and experienced hire is just too wide man. Some GTs here are even earning close to that figure already. And if it's for real God knows how long it will take for the GTs to advance to this really juicy 22m p.a package

It's not surprising hearing guys speculate on the demise of Q1 2015 due to elections postponement going by the fragility of this recruitment exercise so far.... . But for the sake of professionalism I don't see them calling it off. Afterall it's just the AC. My fear is that it may take an equally longer time before successful AC candidates will be called to resume the job.

Whatever the challenge lets keep the faith. Making it this far is good success for us and for committed fellows as this there are numerous paths to success....NLNG is but one of them.

Not that we don't have others who would perform better but our political climate will never allow their ambitions to see the light of day. That being said we are stuck with GEJ and GMB in 2015 and we have to decide. So who will it be?

I know there is a politics section before I decided to drop the post here, thank you very much. We are human beings here on this forum and not some robots. Why cant we discuss politics as it affects our collective interest right here on this very thread. In the course of our wait at different tyms in the past there has been a lot of digressions on this same forum which we all caught our fun with why cant politics be one of such.
@scarletdp, Attyms the way u respond to peoples comments is both condescending and downright rude. If you don't have any comments to make why bother quoting the post? Not picking any beef with you man but you have to chill at tyms before you rush to your keyboard and type.

Others on the thread pls feel free to bear your minds on anything that you deem necessary. Last I check it's a free country and everyone is still entitled to his own opinion.

Since politics its in the air right now I feel we should not shy away from discussing it in this thread. Apart from being a good past-time while we await the end of Q1 due date(like expectant mothers ) i also feel it's imperative we discuss it because one way or the other the outcome of this forthcoming elections will affect directly or indirectly our chances of taking our respective careers to the next level with NLNG. Quite unfortunately many of us here including myself will not be voting due to one reason or the other but with strong arguements we can be able to convince those who will want to vote so as to enable them to make the right choices that will positively impact on our collective interest as a group of propective NLNG workers.


So my educated future colleagues I put the question to you all....who should we vote as president come feb 14th, GEJ or GMB?

Fr Mbaka has not said vote Buhari, he has only encouraged us to put religious and other sentiments aside and embrace change.

That is precisely the opposite of divisive politics that the Catholic Bishops accused CAN of.

*Note, i am neither in support of Fr Mbaka nor against him. I dont feel comfortable with the way he goes about certain things...i think he should be more prudent.

However, i havent seen anything wrong with the content of his sermon.

With the bolded in your post we are in total agreement. The fact that he accepted PEJ about a month earlier singing a different hymn also makes the whole issue reek of politics. The climate in Nigeria now is primed for politics and as a man of God he ought to be careful of his utterances especially when he is speaking from the pulpit as a priest of the HOLY ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH!

Bros i disagree with your stance on this one. The Catholic church has always maintained an apolitical stance on political matters. He has insulted his office of priesthood by openly campaigning for the opposition. I have no problem with him criticizing a failing govt because as a priest he has every right to say the truth irrespective of whose ox is goared.

That's the sad reality of our current predicament with this recruitment. It doesn't make sense that after waiting for close to a year after one has passed the second stage he may end up not getting the offer. I understand now that the political environment of Nigeria has a huge impact on NLNG as an organisation which is quite unfortunate. The company wants to know the outcome of the next general elections before taking certain business decisions of which the recruitment exercise may be affected directly or indirectly.

As a unit let us continue to pray for our dear country Nigeria....so much depends on her unity.

Well to me it's cruel and I believe I am still entitled to my own opinion. Worry not about the intensity of my preparation....no matter how hard we all prepare it's still a selection process and some will not make it in the end. Thats the annoying fact!
