Founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, has predicted that the virulent Coronavirus disease will disappear on March 27.

Joshua, the clairvoyant cleric and miracle worker with church headquarters at Ikotun, Lagos, had said on the SCOAN-owned Emmanuel TV that “the fearful Coronavirus which has caused fear and panic in the world will disappear the same way it came.

Specifically, he said, “Coronavirus, the fearful virus plaguing the world will end on 27th March 2020″.

However, the cleric’s prediction may have elicited hope amidst a disillusioned world population, considering that he has a reputation for giving predictions that often come to pass.

Joshua, having recently reeled out various predictions for this year, reportedly struck a chord, as one of them was said to have come to pass three days after he gave it.

The prediction, THISDAY gathered, had been that he warned against rift, disunity and breakaway in the British Royal Family; and that the recent rumblings in the British royal household were its manifestation.

He reportedly said, “Pray for unity and understanding among the Royal Family – because of what I am seeing.”

Besides, a former Minister of Aviation and vociferous politician, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, had claimed in his twitter handle that Joshua had given so many predictions to him that ultimately came to pass.

He said Joshua predicted events about Zimbabwe, Algeria, Sudan and North Korea, and that “to the Glory of God, they all came into manifestation”.

The Coronavirus disease was first reported in Nigeria last month when a 44-year-old Italian working for a supplier company to Lafarge Africa Plc, Ewekoro, Ogun State, was diagnosed of the disease.

He was subsequently quarantined in a Lagos health facility, while the Ogun State Government in turn quarantined no fewer than 28 persons that had had contacts with the Italian.

There will be no elite football played in Britain for at least three weeks because of the spread of coronavirus.

Elite football in Britain has been suspended until at least 3 April as a result of the spread of coronavirus - but what happens next?

BBC Sport's Simon Stone has answered some of your questions about this season and the impact the suspension will have on the sport.

If the season is not completed what happens about promotion and relegation?

Stone: "You would basically have three options. Declare the season void - and restart next season with the same teams that started this one in the same division, or have promotion and relegation, either using this season's positions as they currently are or having play-offs.

"All of these scenarios are controversial, which is why the preference is to finish the current campaign - it's just that no-one knows when that will be.

"There are nine Premier League games to be played, plus three FA Cup rounds, plus Europe. Given a clear window, you are looking at about six weeks to complete the calendar, using midweek games."

Will Liverpool win the Premier League title no matter what?

Stone: "I don't think we can say 'no matter what' because the option of scrapping this season does exist. However, everyone recognises that would be exceptionally harsh on Jurgen Klopp's men.

"Scrapping this season is not the option being thought of as preferable at this stage. The aim is definitely to end the current campaign at some point."

What is the likelihood of the season being completely null and void?

Stone: "It is very much the will of all the leagues and the majority of the clubs for that not to happen.

"There are so many complications that come with making a decision of that magnitude. Clearly, no-one knows how long the game will be in shut down for. But whenever it restarts, I would think it will restart by finishing off this season.

"It is not entirely clear whether players will carry on training. We are in completely uncharted territory here."

What happens to tickets for fans, especially season tickets - will people get a refund?

Stone: "As with any situation, tickets are refundable if matches don't take place - and generally, clubs will look favourably on fans who can't make date changes that could not have been envisaged when the tickets were bought.

"However, some clubs have just had four or five matches called off, so it may take time. Season tickets are a different case. The season has not ended yet. At this stage, I can't see refunds being offered there. More clarity should come in the next two or three weeks."

If coronavirus lasts for the next six months, does that mean no football will be played in that period?

Stone: "It is possible, yes. In theory, matches could be played this weekend. It is the clubs who have made the decision today - the government said on Thursday that matches could continue for now.

"No-one, certainly not me, knows how long the current situation will last for. I don't see matches being played until the coronavirus problem has passed its peak point, which the medical experts said yesterday could be between 10 and 14 weeks.

"Given the medical advice, I don't think anyone in football seriously expects the situation to have changed in three weeks and therefore the present situation is much more likely to be extended than lifted."

What happens about player contracts if the season is not finished by 30 June - as well as other extra fees such as for appearances and goals?

Stone: "This is a complex area. Obviously players whose contracts run beyond the end of this season will get bonuses based on the current campaign, whenever it finishes.

"However, for those whose deals expire on 30 June, it is a different situation entirely. In addition, the transfer window will be open.

"These issues will form part of the fall-out from Uefa's meeting on Tuesday, which is expected to outline the best way forward for the European game as a whole. The players - as well as the leagues - will be represented."

Could next season be delayed - and if so, to when?

Stone: "Yes. And as long as is required. If the current season doesn't finish until the summer, there will need to be flexibility about when the next campaigns start.

"A Uefa source told me yesterday that nothing was off the table. Anything is possible."

Will there be any financial assistance to lower league clubs who will have no income for the next month?

Stone: "I don't know if the EFL has enough money to start handing out bridging loans. Like most businesses, clubs will have to find a way round their present situation."

National League
Only games in the top four tiers of English football have been suspended, meaning matches in the fifth-tier National League and below are still scheduled to be played
Will lower leagues be suspended because of the risk of attracting larger crowds from other clubs?

Stone: "It is a fair point. I suspect it falls into the 'cross the bridge when it comes to it' category. I can't see why a local side that attracts 100 fans should be stopped from playing.

"Junior matches will still go on also. There has to be a line drawn somewhere. It would be illogical to say 'no-one can play football'.

Why is the National League continuing?
Stone: "To repeat, it is the Premier League and EFL clubs plus the Football Association who took Friday's decision. Government advice on Thursday was that matches could continue.

"The National League has taken the option to follow government advice. Notts County average attendances of more than 5,000, so there are plenty of fans who follow that level of the game anyway.

"If clubs get overwhelmed by spectators, I guess the National League may have a rethink but for now, for them, it is business as usual."

What will happen to TV deals?

Stone: "The big unknown is how the broadcasters react to this situation. BBC, BT, Premier Sports and Sky pay huge amounts of money to screen football.

"The latter three use football to drive their subscriptions. If there is no football, what happens to the subscription numbers and, in turn, their ability to pay the contracts.

"As with so many things, the length of time this shutdown goes on for will determine what happens next."

What about payments given to clubs depending on league position - what will they get?

Stone: "If the Premier League has its way, they will get the payments they are supposed to get because the season will finish. Anything else is guesswork at this stage."

Adeyemi Adeniran II ascended the throne as the alaafin of Oyo in 1945 and reigned for about a decade before his abrupt and unexpected dethronement in July 1955 by Obafemi Awolowo, leader of old western region, reportedly over political reasons.

In 1950, Awolowo established the Action Group, promising freedom from British rule among other things for all those who followed him, particularly the westerners. The alaafin was among those who did not identify with Awolowo and did not hide the fact that he was a fan of Nnamdi Azikwe and by extension the National Council of Nigerians and the Cameroons (NCNC), a rival party for Awolowo’s camp. He was at some point also accused of conspiring to work against the regional government, part of what led to his suspension and eventual dethronement. His son is the incumbent alaafin of Oyo.

MUHAMMADU SANUSI I

Muhammadu Sanusi I, was deposed as the 11th emir of Kano 57 years ago by the then northern Nigeria regional government led by Ahamdu Bello, the late sarduana of Sokoto.

Sanusi I replaced Abdullahi Bayero, the 10th emir of Kano, who died on December 23, 1953. Prior to this appointment, he worked as a senior councilor of the emirate council where he controlled the administration of the emirate, as the sole native authority for over a decade. Palace officials reported that the late emir had a special relationship with the emerging western educated elite and he brought many of them into the services of the native authority.

Upon his emergence as emir, he played key roles in the major shift in elite configuration in the state. He was also instrumental in the formation of the Northern Peoples Congress (NPC). Indeed, Sanusi I was charismatic, politically sound and influential in the northern region. He stood firmly against injustice and oppression, seizing moments to condemn any of such acts.

However, trouble began when most of the senior members of the NPC in Kaduna resented his influence. This resentment led to the instituting of a commission of inquiry into the finances of the Kano native authority under Sanusi. A probe panel was set up and members of the native authority testified before D. J. M. Muffet, the sole commissioner. The panel recommended the resignation of the emir and the regional government implemented the recommendation, thereby requesting Sanusi I to resign. With little or no restraint, the late emir tendered his resignation to Kashim Ibrahim, the then governor of the northern region on March 28, 1963.

Sanusi I went into exile at Azare, a city in Bauchi state, where he kept a low profile. He spent 20 years in exile before returning to Wudil state, Kano, where he died. He was replaced by his brother, Muhammadu Inuwa, the 12th emir of Kano, whose tenure only lasted for six months. Inuwa was succeeded by the late Ado Bayero, who spent 51 years on the throne before he died. In 2014, Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of the state, appointed Sanusi II as the 14th emir of Kano

IBIKUNLE AKITOYE, OBA OF LAGOS

Among the earliest prominent traditional rulers dethroned was Ibikunle Akitoye, the oba of Lagos who ascended the throne in 1841 but was deposed in 1845, with the involvement of his nephew Kosoko who later succeeded him as oba.

Against the advice of his chiefs, Akitoye recalled kosoko so as to bring him back to fold, but the result was that he lost the throne to him but later got it back through the help of the British in 1851. Part of what caused his travails, as was told, was his move to ban slave trade, as local merchants, who were prominent slave traders, kicked against this and mobilised for his removal.

OLATERU OLAGBEGI, OLOWO OF OWO

Olateru Olagbegi ruled as the Olowo of Owo on two occasions, first appointed in 1941 and later returned to the position in 1993.

He was highly revered and first ruled for 25 years before he was deposed and sent into exile reportedly as a result of a regional crisis between two Action Group leaders: Obafemi Awolowo and Samuel Akintola.

Interestingly, the Action Group was birthed in his palace about 10 years earlier, but a misunderstanding between the two leaders in the early 1960s saw the traditional ruler taking sides with Akintola.

His decision did not go down well with some members of his community, the end result which was a revolt against him in 1966. He was deposed and subsequently banished, only to be re-instated in 1993, following the death of the reigning monarch.

The Director-General, Media and Communications, Kano State Government, Salihu Yakasai, has said the deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, won’t have access to visitors.

He said this while making clarification on the removal of Sanusi on Monday.

The Kano State Executive Council had on Monday approved the immediate removal of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.

The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, announced the unanimous decision of the council at a news conference on Monday in Kano.

He said the removal of the monarch followed alleged disrespect to lawful instructions by the state governor.

After Sanusi’s removal, there were speculations that he could emerge as the presidential or governorship candidate of a political party in the 2023 general election.

But Yakasi via his Twitter handle, @dawisu, said Sanusi would be kept in exile and would not have his freedom as expected.

“Clearly, some people are ignorant of how dethronement works. When an Emir is dethroned, he is sent to exile in a remote location and will basically be under house arrest and won’t have access to visitors. A person under these circumstances will be after his freedom and not the next election,” he tweeted.
