MadamExcellency: Go and refresh your memories. Bokoharam gave two conditions for peace in Nigeria.
Following their recent affirmation that President Goodluck Jonathan should quit power and convert to Islam, the presidency has replied the radical Islamist sect otherwise known as Boko Haram that Mr. President would neither convert to Islam nor resign his position for peace to reign in the country as demanded by the Sect.
https://www.google.com/amp/dailypost.ng/2012/08/06/i-will-resign-jonathan-reacts-boko-harams-condition/amp/ Baseless. Is BUHARI not a Muslim, has Boko Haram ended? is Yaradua a Christian that Boko Haram started under his regime. |

PrecisionFx: Boko haram was a baby religious extremist group under yaradua, They were just a group of unemployed northerners being silly but that was under yaradua.
Under gej they they grew into one of the biggest terrorist groups in the world with the support of northern elites. It only shows Yaradua is decisive enough to deal with Boko Haram but Jonathan allow them to develop wings by being soft on them. He actually said they are his siblings. He claim some of them are in his cabinet. |

Education › ASUU After Their Individual Pocket - NANS Senate Distances Self From Protest by FriendNG(op): 2:50pm On Nov 21, 2018*. Modified: 5:33pm On Nov 21, 2018 |
- Those who prostest are non student. - ASUU has continually used Nigerian students as a tool of pun in the negotiations with government. - Their demands have not always been for the benefit of Nigerian students but only for the well-being of the individual pockets. - ASUU do not consider the dent of the academic calendar and its impact on the future of Nigerian students who are kept at home and often made to rush up after resumption. The Senate of National Association of Nigerian Students, led by Abdulmajeed Oyeniyi, has distanced itself from what it described as ‘politically motivated protest’ led by one Danielson Bamidele, a factional NANS president.
Members of the Nigerian Labour Congress and the National Association of Nigerian Students, led by Danielson, had on Monday staged a protest in Abuja to demand increased funding for education.
Oyeniyi, in a statement yesterday, alleged that the protest was funded by enemies of the nation and its democracy.
“It is disheartening that some sponsored charlatans who are non-students went ahead to hold a protest in the name of students’ movement in Nigeria to discredit the effort of the Federal government and shamelessly took side with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in the ongoing negotiations between the Federal Government and ASUU with the consciousness that the union has continually used Nigerian students as a tool of pun in the negotiations with government,”
“The demand of the leadership of ASUU at this critical moment where Nigeria is faced with an election is an attempt to heat the polity by blackmailing Mr. President. Their demands have not always been for the benefit of Nigerian students but only for the well-being of the individual pockets of lecturers not considering the dent of the academic calendar and its impact on the future of Nigerian students who are kept at home and often made to rush up after resumption,” he said. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/ASUU-strike-nans-senate-distances-self-from-protest.htmlLalasticlala Mynd44 |

Politics › Ganduje’s Aide Blasts Buhari, Says Comment On Gandujegate Unbecoming Of A Leader by FriendNG(op): 3:19pm On Nov 19, 2018 |
Zulyadaini Karaye, the Senior Special Assistant to Kano State governor on Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s comments on the governor, saying the remarks were unstatesmanlike.
In a radio interview at the weekend, Mr Karaye said the president’s critique of Mr Ganduje’s bribe-taking videos was unbecoming of a leader.
“What President Muhammadu Buhari said was unstatesmanlike, unbecoming of a leader of his age. I am ashamed of his action.
“His comment on Ganduje is corruption too. The videos are mere allegations, and they’re being investigated. The president should have waited for the outcome of the investigation not arriving at a conclusion based on hearsay.
“With this, I believe the president is not a leader who can protect the image of his country and its people,” he added.
He also said the president was not fair to Mr Ganduje despite his loyalty to the president, just as he criticised the president for abandoning Kano people.
On November 12 in Paris, the president broke his silence on the videos, saying action would be taken on the matter.
The president’s response on the Ganduje videos followed a remark by a Kano student in France, who lauded the achievements of the governor, especially on scholarship, and advised federal government to emulate the governor.
But the president snapped, asking the student if he had watched the governor’s videos receiving bribe in dollars.
“That aside, haven’t you watched the videos of the governor stuffing dollars under his gown?” one of the participants quoted the president as asking rhetorically while demonstrating how the governor was stuffing the bundles of dollars under his babbarriga.
“We gave the videos to security agencies for vetting. And we will surely take action on the matter if he is found guilty.”
But the president’s response did not go down well with a member representing Nassarawa Constituency, Nassir Ali-Ahmed and personal assistant to the president on Broadcast Media, Sha’aban Sharada, who pleaded with journalists to remove the portion where the president made remark on the governor. https://dailynigerian.com/gandujes-aide-blasts-buhari-says-presidents-comment-on-gandujegate-unbecoming-of-a-leader/ |

In a bid to ensure the extension of the Lagos-Ibadan rail line to Apapa seaport, the Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, has said parts of some terminals in the port will have to be demolished.
Amaechi stated this on Thursday in Lagos during a visit to the port to inspect the standard gauge railway line.
The inspection tour started from the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Ebute-Meta.
He said the purpose of the visit was to “see the challenges we have in taking both the narrow gauge and standard gauge into the seaport.”
He said, “What is best for us is what we will do; we will go back to the President to get an approval to ensure we get something that will outlast us. So, whether it is different from what is in the contract or not, we will get something that will last for a long time.”
Commenting on the reported pullout of General Electric from Nigeria’s railway concession, the minister said, “I don’t know whether GE pulled out: GE is no longer into transportation. What happened is that it was a consortium; we have APM Terminals, Transnet, SinoHydro of China and GE.
“GE is the only one that is no longer into transportation business. So, Transnet has now taken the lead role as the head of the consortium. We are going ahead with the concession.
Asked if the GE’s pullout was a setback, Amaechi said, “What setback is that? Transnet can raise the $2.7bn.”
Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that GE said it was withdrawing from the railway concession and handing it over to Transnet SOC Limited in line with its strategy to exit the transportation business.
GE won a contract last year to manage Nigeria’s narrow-gauge rail network in partnership with three other companies, namely SinoHydro of China, Transnet, and APM Terminals.
They signed an agreement with Nigerian authorities in April to proceed with the interim phase of the narrow-gauge concession that is expected to grow freight haulage capacity in the country ten-fold to 500,000 metric tons annually.
The Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Usman, said, “We have done an inspection to ensure that the rail lines are brought directly into the port. We visited several terminals; there will be areas where the Federal Government will take over for overriding public interest to ensure that the rail track comes in.
“We have situations where certain portions of warehouses, for example, will have to be taken away; we have some portions of land that we have to reclaim to ensure that the rail line gets to the quayside, and that is what is more important than having those warehouses.”
She said not all the terminals would be affected by the demolition, adding, “But, indeed, what is important for port operations is to ensure that cargo is evacuated efficiently and we are deploying intermodal transportation system, and this is one of the steps in introducing rail to the quayside of all our terminals.
“So, I think this is important and imperative, and there is overriding public interest for the government to come and take over certain spaces for this development. Whatever we do, we are going to be mindful of port operations; we will ensure that the quayside is left available for operations while certain portions will be rehabilitated.”
Usman said there would be discussions with terminal operators who would be affected by the demolition to ensure that they were compensated.
She said, “After this inspection, we are going to have another meeting where we will determine the exact increase in scope that the project will have in view of this visit because this visit has expanded the scope to ensure that, for example, we are going to cover Greenview Development Nigeria Limited; we are going to look at expanding into Eko Support Services Limited.
“We are also going to look at providing direct quayside and sidings for Port and Terminal Multiservice Limited. So, all these aspects need to be completed and the numbers will be presented to the Honourable Minister, and in turn, he will make the necessary request for approval from the Federal Executive Council.” https://punchng.com/lagos-ibadan-rail-fg-to-demolish-parts-of-apapa-port-terminals/Photo Credits: Israel Ibeleme

Politics › Firm To Build 500km/hr Lagos-abuja 45 Minutes Rail by FriendNG(op): 12:27am On Nov 17, 2018 |
Skyway String Transport Technology, a private firm, says its fast light rail service can move passengers from Lagos to Abuja in about 45 minutes.
It will be moving at an average speed of 150km per hour and has capacity for 500km per hour. The Regional Head, Skyway String Transport Technology, Mr. Arogundade Samson, said that the fast transport system had been carefully designed to assist the Nigerian government in alleviating the sufferings of the people in moving from one point to another. According to him, the hi-tech transportation system will solve the challenges of gridlock and hazards involved in travelling by road from Lagos to Abuja.
The Nigerian Punch newspaper said on Wednesday that Samson stated at a gathering in Lagos to sensitive members of the public on the project that the company “is fully committed; possess the technical knowhow and financial capability to deliver the project in good time”, as long as it enjoys support and cooperation of the Lagos and the Federal Government.
Samson noted that since Nigeria has the same challenge with India in terms of population and lack of social infrastructure, the implementation of similar project there had greatly changed their story. The report quoted a member of the company’s board, Vladimir Maslov, as saying that the company was ready to sign an agreement with the Federal Government and Lagos State to signal the beginning of the fast track transportation project.
Maslov said that some of the benefits inherent in the project included a reduction in the rate at which commuters were exposed to accidents on the road, and encourage zero tolerance for pollution as well as improved security of lives and property of passengers.
A schedule flight from Lagos to Abuja is about 50 minutes, while it takes between 12 and 15 hours to travel from Lagos to Abuja by bus. Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/11/firm-to-build-lagos-abuja-45-minutes-rail/

For any person you killed unjustifiable is like you kill the whole mankind. So what are you saying? Tell us the Islamic preachers that skip the verse that says so during Tafsir?
