I think we need to start teaching people proper comprehension lest they become like badly programmed robots.

I have read the news over and over again I didn't see where the president outrightly commended the Kano governor without balancing it up with the leaked video where he openly said he they(FG) have sent the video to the agency in charge for vetting.
It is ultimately left for Nigerians to demand for the result of the vetting not this blind obtuse hatred being shown like a child whose candy was taken by a bully to the president.

Nairaland is gradually becoming a play ground for senseless and bigoted individuals who are allergic to objectivity when they speak.

President Muhammadu Buhari has broken his silence on the videos showing Abdullahi Ganduje, Governor of Kano State, receiving kickbacks from a contractor.

The President’s statement was the response to a remark by a Kano student in France. The student was said to have lauded the achievements of the Governor, especially on scholarship.

However, according to Daily Nigerian, the President snapped, and asked the student if he had watched the videos of the governor receiving bribe in dollars.

“That aside, haven’t you watched the videos of the governor stuffing dollars under his gown?” one of the participants quoted the President as asking rhetorically, while demonstrating how the Governor was stuffing the bundles of dollars inside his outfit.

“We gave the videos to security agencies for vetting. And we will surely take action on the matter if he is found guilty,” he stated.

However, the President’s response did not go down well with a member representing Nasarawa Constituency, Nassir Ali-Ahmed and Personal Assistant to the President on Broadcast Media, Sha’aban Sharada, who pleaded with journalists to remove the portion where the President spoke about Ganduje.

The Paris town hall meeting, held at Shangrilla Hotel, was attended by Nigerians studying in various institutions in France, as well as the Nigerian community in France, APC members in France, among others.

The President was accompanied by Kayode Fayemi, Governor of Ekiti State, Willie Obiano, Governor of Anambra State, Ambassador of Nigeria to France Modupe Irele, Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami and National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno.

Much as Muslim Muslim ticket does not mean performance will be hindered? The sensitive nature of the country calls for inclusiveness.
Most of our leaders are not sensitive and only think in one straight line.

I will agree if someone says there are no appreciable quantity of Muslim in Anambra but I don't think the same can be said about Ekiti and Ondo. Why are people not talking about this states, don't we have appreciable quantity of Muslims there?

Don't be too quick to pick sides. Politicians have permanent interests irrespective of political party or corruption tag. Buhari needs votes from Kano and would do anything to get it if adviced by his party men to ignore the allegations till after elections, he would gladly do that without remorse

The Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State has confirmed the killing of two Muslim travelers at Nding Sesut village of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State on Sunday night.

This is coming barely a week after the burial of a retired major general, Idris Alkali, who was killed at Dura Du, Jos while traveling from Abuja to Bauchi.

Spokesman for the operation, Adam Umar, confirmed the incident, saying two other persons were injured, while one was left unharmed.

Mr Umar, an army major, said the vehicle in which the victims were travelling in was also taken away by the attackers.

“We have received a distress call from the scene of the incident, and our men have discovered that two persons were killed, while two others were injured.

“We don’t know whether the attackers were armed robbers, but the incident did happen.

“The sector commander has summoned stakeholders’ meeting, and our men are investigating the matter,” he said.

The spokesman for the Plateau State Command, Tyopev Terna, declined comment on the matter.

However, the secretary of the vegetables sellers association at Building Materials Market, Jos, Fodio Umar, said two of their members were shot dead by suspected “Berom youths” while coming back from Barkin Ladi on Sunday night.

According to him, Tanimu Sanusi and Usman Inusa, where shot dead, while Abdullahi Muhammad and one other person were injured.

Mr Umar said the matter was reported to the Sector 7 Command of OPSH.

He said the deceased have been buried according to Islamics rites at Barkin Ladi on Monday afternoon.
