Politics › Governor Abdullahi Ganduje Was Caught Receiving $5m Bribe - Daily Nigerian by FriendNG(op): 1:52pm On Oct 10, 2018 |
DAILY NIGERIAN will publish the videos as soon as possible. Nigerian security agencies are currently analysing a number of video clips showing a Nigerian governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, receiving $5 million bribe.
Multiple contractors who spoke with DAILY NIGERIAN on the condition of anonymity said the governor personally receives from 15 to 25 percent kickbacks for every project executed in the state.
Sources familiar with the situation said two agencies have been asked by President Muhammadu Buhari to file a report and submit to him in earnest.
The report, according to sources, involves analysis on the audiovisual contents of the clips, backgrounds and sequence, and then give recommendations to the president.
Credible sources in the presidency told DAILY NIGERIAN that the president would act on the report as soon the two agencies submit the report.
“The video was first shown to Mr President on a large TV screen. The president was bitter after watching the clips.
“I believe he will deal with the matter as soon as possible,” the source disclosed. Plot to remove the governor, who is gunning for his second term on the platform of ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, thickens by the day as the President explores all the options available.
Pundits familiar with the situation say the State House of Assembly will easily bow to the presidency’s request for impeachment upon release of the videos.
It was gathered that the devastated governor is currently planning to suppress the release of the video through various means.
“The governor is in danger. He is still in Abuja searching for a way out. His plan to settle at least 3 people who possess the clip has also failed. The governor is now planning how to hire fake activists and engage in a media war to discountenance the videos,” a source who preferred not to be named told our reporter.
The source also said there is also plan to attack DAILY NIGERIAN publisher, Jaafar Jaafar, for his refusal to trade off the video.
Recall that this newspaper had exclusively reported that a Nigerian governor from one of the North West states was caught on spy camera receiving kickbacks in hard currency for various projects executed by his administration.
In the three-episode clips seen by DAILY NIGERIAN reporter, the governor was shown on different dates receiving the bribe amounting to about 5 million dollars in total.
In one of the clips, this reporter watched how the governor, who appeared without a cap, took note of the names of contractors who paid the kickback and later tucked the bundles of dollar notes into his kaftan side pockets and trousers’ pockets.
In another video, appearing in babbarriga and a cap, this reporter watched how the governor collected nearly 3 million dollars, being 25 percent kickbacks for selling market stalls.
DAILY NIGERIAN graphics expert, who was also invited to a secret meeting to ascertain whether the videos were genuine, confirmed that they were not doctored.
A representative from a reputable international anti-corruption agency, who was also furnished with the clips for authentication, confirmed that it was genuine.
“Going by the analysis we made on conversation and the graphics, we concluded that the voice matched the subject matter’s voice and the images are unmistakably his,” the agency’s representative said.
DAILY NIGERIAN will publish the videos as soon as possible. https://dailynigerian.com/revealed-the-face-of-nigerian-governor-caught-on-tape-receiving-5m-bribe/

Education › WAEC To Name & Shame Candidates, Staff Involved In Exam Malpractice by FriendNG(op): 12:03pm On Oct 10, 2018 |
“Candidates, invigilators and supervisors caught aiding and abetting examination malpractice, WAEC, ANCOPSS and the States Ministry of Education will publish their names to serve as a deterrent for others." THE West African Examination Council, WAEC, yesterday, decried the rate of examination malpractice among students, vowing to publish names of students involved in malpractice.
In a statement by WAEC’s head, Public Affairs, Mr Demianus Ojijeogu, the decision to publish offenders was part of the 66th Nigeria Examinations Committee, NEC, of WAEC’s resolution held at Ogba, Lagos.
Ojijeogu said: “Candidates, invigilators and supervisors caught aiding and abetting examination malpractice, WAEC, ANCOPSS and the States Ministry of Education will publish their names to serve as a deterrent for others.
“States Ministry of Education and school principals are to check the ugly trend by looking at the calibre and integrity of teachers nominated as supervisors for public examinations.
“The Committee observed that even with the commendable efforts of the Council in the fight against examination malpractice, the menace is still on the increase.
“There was high rate of impersonation as a form of examination malpractice during the WASSCE examinations.
“In the course of considering the various reported cases of malpractice, the Committee, after diligent deliberations, approved appropriate sanctions in all established cases of malpractice, as prescribed by the Rules and Regulations governing the conduct of the Council’s examinations.
It approved that the entire results of candidates involved in proven cases, which attracts Cancellation of Entire Results, CER, be cancelled, while subject results of those involved in proven cases, which attract Cancellation of Subject Results, CSR, be similarly cancelled.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/10/waec-vows-to-publish-candidates-involved-in-exams-malpractice/

Politics › Sole Candidate: El-rufai Challenge Shehu Sani To Market Popularity Contest by FriendNG(op): 1:29pm On Oct 09, 2018 |
Apc affirm Shehu Sani As Senatorial Candidate For Kaduna zone 2 Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State on Monday dared Shehu Sani, the senator representing Kaduna Central, to a popularity contest at the state’s Central Market.
The governor, who threw the challenge while addressing newsmen in Abuja, said: “Shehu Sani cannot even campaign in the market. I challenge him, let us go to Kaduna Central Market and let’s see who will come out unscathed.”
Recall that Messrs El-Rufai and Sani have been at loggerheads with each other since 2016, apparently over political and ideological differences.
Recently, Mr El-Rufai’s had attempted to block Mr Sani from returning to the Senate but the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC affirmed Mr Sani’s candidature.
The party’s spokesman, Yekini Nabena, reiterated that, “as far as Kaduna Central Zone 2 is concerned, the only candidate is Sen. Shehu Sani.
“Yes election took place in that zone because of the House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly but for the senatorial position the only candidate is Sen. Shehu Sani.
“The governor cannot dictate to the party.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the APC headquarters had announced Shehu Sani as it’s only candidate cleared to contest the Kaduna Central senatorial seat in 2019 elections. https://dailynigerian.com/el-rufai-challenges-shehu-sani-to-popularity-contest-at-kaduna-central-market/ |

Then you don't know the north. Nobody cares about Dasuki in the north, some are even happy because he is under detention. The hate the north have for shites is a concentrated one.
