hello house

Dear ppl really need your help badly

a friend applied for a uk visa with these dos

offer letter
intro letter
pay slip
bank statement with bal of 39,000GHS
commercial car papers
private car papers
commercial car papers contract with driver
travel itinerary
cover note
flight reservation
hotel booking
tour reservation

after all these docs he was refused

the reason: " you propose a 13-day visit for the purpose of tourism.

you have stated on you application that you are single and are employed as a marketing manager and earn 3,324ghs = 583.24 gbp per month

* you havestated that you spend 200gbp per month on living expenses , leaving you with a disposable income of 383.24gbp. you state that the cost of you personally is 1800gbp. this amount is 4x your monthly income once living costs have been deducted and i am not satisfied this is credible considering your personal and financial circumstances

* in light of the above ************** "

aside from his monthly salary his driver deposits an amount of 2880ghs into his account every month 3324+2880 = 6204ghs = 1088gbp

pls advise on what we should do as he wants to re -apply asap

You or your friend should not bother reapplying at this time because the ECO's decision won't change.

Work on your finances. The ECO is magnanimous and doesn't want you to go bankrupt.

Upon receipt of your documents, The Embassy sends ur bank statements to the Fraud department at the BDHC for verification Scanned copy of the first and last page of ur statement of account you submitted will be sent via email to your bank head office in Lagos to confirm the authenticity, The head office will now forward the scanned copies to their branch office to confirm if they actually issued the statement of account. The funny thing is just that most applications doesn't even get to that stage of verification before they reach their conclusion.
To ur question about banks disclosing ur balance to third party, The embassy is no more a third party, If you don't want ur balance disclosed, why did you submit your statement of account to them Lol

@Askari01, you did justice on this subject.

Frontpagelawyer,Lady G,Justwise and others kindly help out.
I'm thinking of travelling to the UK next month and I want to find out somethings about that "form A"
a) can I transfer money to a UK personal account(not for school fees or medical fees) using Form A and have the person withdraw when I get there?
b) is it going to be at the official bank rate?
c) do all banks offer that service(form A) and can it be done anytime?

Please kindly help me with answers, merci!

Due to price mechanism, the banks have difference exchange rates. I'll advise that you contact your bank to get first-hand information on this subject.

Pls house.. I've been refused visa twice as I earlier stated, my question is, if am applying for another visa be it in a years time,do I still need to bring up the reasons for the past refusal in a separate letter there by providing evidence to substantiate my claim Thank u.. @Vjustices @worry365 and at all the honorable members I look forward to hearing from you all.thank u.

You don't necessarily have to state your past refusals in a separate letter. You'll come across this question while filling the online application form. " Have you been refused a UK visa or any other visa" then you can state the countries and explain truthfully.

It is just an integrity test. Lying about your past visa refusals is considered a serious immigration offence that could even lead to a life ban.

Your monthly salary is 90k
How long have you been working?
How much do you have in your account?
How much will this trip cost you? Your budget must be very prudent and realistic.
How long are you staying?
Are you married?
Do you have children?

Thanks.
I work for the Ondo State Government, and payment of salaries have been irregular(owed 3 months now) , with the result that my present balance cannot possibly fund the trip.
I have gotten some money now for the trip which I have lodged into my account. ..I must say booking for the exam in the UK is something I didn't really envisage, as the March slots in Nigeria were filled up.
Anyway, my questions are:
1. Will the lump transfer of money raise a red flag?
2. My cousin is helping me out with some of the money. Do I need to mention and/or get proof of that?
3. Do I need yo explain why my account hasn't had enough money (the whole 'oewd salaries' thing)?
Thanks again

Your application will be refused if you lodge funds in your account prior to your visa application. It is also very important to know that a visa cannot be granted if a visa office is not satisfied with your employment, financial circumstances and earnings.

Thanks for your unending contribution. I must commend you all, you are doing a great job here. Please I need answers to these questions

My husband is on scholarship with all expense and upkeep paid. he stays in a duplex that is occupied by 4 persons(mostly students like him) in the house including the landlady. He is inviting me but then the last occupant of the room he took, registered the phone line in his name, and the other utility bills are registered in the name of the land lady

1. How can we proof that he is one of the occupants of the house?

Then, I just finished my masters (will convocate in April) and just resumed work in January(in a school) with not too much account balance though my husband intend to sponsor me with 400k from his salary account here in Nigeria for a-2wk school vacation. My husband is a lecturer in one of the Federal University in Nigeria and has signed bond with the university and the scholarship board to return immediately after his studies in September.

2. Is this financial obligation and my tie (job and convocation) to my country solid enough to convince the consular officer?

Then where I work, my employer does'nt give confirmation letters to staff, when u are in then u are in.

3. Is it still neccesary to support my documents with the letter?

4. Do I need to submit my results and confirmation for my just concluded masters study just to justify my recent employment status?

Please, I need you all to analyse my questions. Thanks in anticipation.

A landlord tenancy agreement should be sufficient for proof of accommodation.

Though your employment ties is not substantial enough to convince any ECO, but since your husband is sponsoring the trip with N400k, you'll have to make your budget very prudent and give it a try.

If you're a visa officer and I tell you I work with SHELL Petroleum without any proof such as employment letter, what will be your decision?

You just started working with this company which is a red flag and you have no document to show your job is subsisting and will definitely bring you back to Nigeria after your visit i:e employment letter, salary account, payslip (showing monthly tax deduction), leave letter.

Your Msc has nothing to do with your application, a few visa officers lay emphasis on these three important tools. "Family ties, employment ties, financial ties and strengths.

Hi All, Please i want to apply for non immigrant visa for me and my 1 year old daughter which of the forms do i fill, although i have filled 2 seperate forms for each of us but at the end i say a link to fill for family so i am confused also am i going to pay for her own form visa fee as well and finally since i filled seperate forms does it mean we would have different interview dates

Do a thorough research on this thread and don't get yourself confused.

All you need do is fill separate applications for you and your daughter; book a date for submission of application at Teleperformance in Lagos or Abuja.

Even though you won't be interviewed, be prepared for one as applicants are selected randomly for visa interview.

You have the required documents that should qualify you for the visa, however the onus will be on you to convince the Entry Clearance Officer that you'll return back to your home country at the end of your stay without breaking immigration laws.

Applicants for visitor visas are viewed as intending immigrants until they can convince the ECO that they are not. You must therefore be able to show that you have reasons for returning to your home country that are stronger than those for remaining in the UK. "Ties" to your home country are the things that bind you to Nigeria, or current place of residence: job, family, strong financial prospects that you own or will inherit, investments, etc.

Work out a prudent but realistic budget for the duration of your stay so we all can analyse it, because ECO will use this to determine if your spending commensurate with your monthly earnings.

Your company is barely one month old and you have not started paying Federal Tax to the Government. It can't stand as a tie to your home country. It is only through your company tax clearance certificate the ECO can evaluate the size and financial strength of your company to determine if it is subsisting to bring you back after your visit.

thank you so much for the replied but pls let me state it here that I just got my CAC last week and the (£500) was deposited by my invitee and he stated it in the letter that he had deposit it into my account with his name stating it as money for uk trip. and I don't have company account yet but I have allocation letter from my local government council which means I have been paying taxes to local government for almost 2years now and I also have property like land and my personal account with 400k as balance. what are my chances pls

My dear friend, sincerely you're not qualified for a visiting visa at this time. Your application is unlikely to fly because your financial ties is not substantial enough to convince the visa officer that you'll leave the UK at the end of your visit.

Grow your company for at least a year or two. Your tax clearance certificate is an important document as a business owner. It is used to evaluate your company, determine its structure, financial strength and compliance with the Government.

I have a question pls,I applied for a family visit 2014,as at that time my balance was 174,190.73{£632) and I stated that I have (£545) available for my trip, which is for my ticket because my brother stated that he would be taken care of my stay and feeding and I was denied due to insufficient fund, and as at that time my salary was 100k but now I want to reapply again but this time a family friend would be inviting me with this document listed
copy of his passport
copy if his resident permit
his tenancy agreement
pay slips
bank statement
and he also deposited (£500) to my account and uk trip
and stated in his letter that he is sponsoring my trip to the uk
on my part I run my own business
statement account covering above 6month with balance of 400k
CAC
tax clearance
allocation letter
ID card
pls what are my chances?

The reason you gave for the refusal in 2014 is not sufficient, but to my understanding, you proposed to spend £545 in the UK on holidays from a balance of £632 which makes no economic sense. Your budget was unrealistic and does not commensurate to your personal and financial circumstances which you failed to substantiate.

If you must reapply, then address the reasons stated for your previous refusal. You have all the required documents from your host, but you must be ready to defend the £500 deposited in your account.

I assume you're self-employed, therefore you'll need your six months bank statement, six months company bank statement, work documents, contract papers, award letter, receipts and other documents to proof your ties to Nigeria, this may be property documents, shares documents, inheritance, marriage certificate, children birth certificate etc.

Hello,

I have a couple of clarification I need . I am trying to fill my visa form online .

I applied for a uk tourist visa in 2008 , I was refused ,at the time I did that application I was a student in uni . Now I want to apply for a tourist visa for 7days , when filling the form online , there was a question they asked , have you ever been refused a uk visa . I clicked YES. Now

Please enter details of the type of refusal and reason for refusal?

I can't remember what the reason was 'whether it was insufficient funds from sponsor or not . To be honest I can't remember .the only thing I have is the refusal stamp with a number .

Write. "Do not know" you won't be penalised for this. It is an integrity test designed to assess an applicant's tendency to be honest, trustworthy, and dependable.

Kindly advise the best way to answer that question

2)what is the cost of you personally for this trip ?( does it mean total money ?

If you don't have a partial sponsor, then input your total budget for the trip.

3) total amount I have for this trip ?does it mean all the money in my budget for the trip?

Same with number 2. Flight, accommodation, feeding, transportation, shopping, miscellaneous.

4) the cost of your living expenses ( is it the other cost in my budget[local transportation , feeding , tourist attraction ,shopping ] I.e money set aside apart from the flight and accomdation because there is already a place in the form gnat they ask for cost of your flight and accomdation

This is the money you're spending in the UK which does not include flight. I:e accommodation, feeding, transportation, sightseeing, shopping and what have you.

5) what does type of work undertaken mean ? I am a banker

You're a banker and if there's a column to describe your duties, then do that.

Did you register the company for this purpose? If your answer is NO, why the rush? A three weeks old company? Your application won't fly from experience gathered so far.

Visa officers are well trained to know that just anybody can register a company in Nigeria and claim the title "ceo"

What is your company's financial standing? I asked because the consulate uses your company's tax clearance certificate to evaluate and assess the strength of your company and its financial position. The value of all your significant assets, as well as all your significant liabilities will also be evaluated.

I'm afraid you're unlikely to be qualified for a visiting visa due to your company's financial standing. I'll advise you concentrate on your legitimate business for now, build a profile, keep transaction receipts, contract papers, maintain a healthy company's account, all "major" inflows must be accounted for, also work out a salary structure for yourself.

Even if you intend to apply in September, I doubt you'll be granted a visiting visa, but maybe a business visa which must be significant and beneficial to your company.

@justwise, what is your take on this?

On your part, you will need your six months pay slip (if employed), six months bank statement, employment letter/work documents, introduction letter from company, leave letter and other documents to proof your ties to Nigeria, this may be property documents, shares documents, inheritance, marriage certificate, children birth certificate etc.

For your financial accounts, make sure there are regular activities and no money lodgement. You must also demonstrate to the ECO that you will not become a financial burden to the UK Government and you'll return back to your country at the end of your visit without breaking immigration laws.

Unfortunately the UK doesn't work like that. The invitation letter is not sufficient. If your uncle is providing accommodation. He needs to send you his Mortgage bill, utility bill, copy of his passport data page with clear evidence of his immigration status in the UK.
