Hello everyone...I submitted my application on Thursday and I already got an email on Monday saying they have made a decision...and it was thesame email about if anyone contacts me that my application is still under review or The outcome can be influenced pls disregard such Becuz it cannot...does that email mean I didn't get the visa and why was a decision made just 2days after submission? Pls I need ur response

Sometimes refusal takes longer time than approval. ECO is done accessing your application hence the decision.

You'll be the first to know the outcome; nothing we tell you here that will make any difference.

Good luck.

Hi guys, my sister applied for a UK visa and got a message saying that a decision had been made last Friday. However, she requested for her documents to be sent by courier and it had been one week now, and she has not received her passport back yet. And she submitted her documents in person at VI. How can she chase this up? Who does she contact? I'm worried that her passport might have been stolen by the courier. Is this a possibility? Why won't they communicate? Argh!

She should send a query to Tlscontact through their website.

please if my husband writes a letter of consent to enable me travel with our daughter to uk, do we have to get a third party like a lawyer to sign or just his signature is enough? and does he have to attach a copy of his passport data page?

You do not need a lawyer. His signature is sufficient with copy of his passport attached to your application.

Many thanks Frontpagelawyer, well, from what you've said , I'll just keep my fingers crossed. The timing is just not so ideal.

Yes, I did fill out the name of the hotel I would be staying in, it's also in Bath.

I deduce from your advice that priority service might not be affect anything , needless going that route moreso because of the timing again.

Thanks for you best wishes, I'll surely need it. I will give this my best short anyway and be ready for whatever comes out of it not without learning my lessons/gaining experience.

If your purpose of visit is valid and important, be rest assured that your application will be successful.

You don't have to worry about your closing balance since your company is paying for the trip. Your application will be adjudged by so many factors e.g. financial and economic ties to your home country, strength of your company as the sponsor is also important, therefore ensure you have the letter of sponsorship from your company or statement of account and tax clearance certificate in case of an SME or smaller corporation.

Let me reiterate that priority service does not guarantee you visa, but due time constraint, you should consider the service to expedite the processing of your application.

Ensure you don't leave any document behind.

Good luck again.

Uncle is a relative.

If you're unsure of the hotel's email address, call them for the right details. I have done that once.

Good Day Visa offcer.

What @omomuse23 meant was that "his/her friend was refused a visa and international passport returned at the end of the visa interview session, but when passport was tracked at ustravdocs with the passport number, this was the information they received (Your passport is still with the US Embassy/Consulate)"
My colleague experienced same and we are billed to travel to the US in January for a training.
What does the bold signify?
Thank you and enjoy the weekend.

Hello everyone... I'd like to say that Santa came early for me... to the glory of God, I have just gotten my passport stamped with multiple entries for EEA family permit visa...
Three things shall I always remember in the month of November every year now... My Birthday, my Wedding Anniversary and the month I got my EEA FP visa. I asked God for a this Visa to be my Birthday gift for this year, and He gave it to me to wish me a belated birthday... grin ... he answers our prayers..

My special thanks go to @Justwise,for his immense tolerance and patience on attending to every concern or questions raised by Visa seekers, especially when the same question is asked over and over again bros, you are too much...I pray that the Almighty God bless and favour you always.. Thanks to @Portsmouth86 for your assistance, I trust and believe that your own visa application shall also end in praise.. everyday when I wake up, I say to myself, " this shall end in praise...I shall not be rejected,i shall be accepted" I even turned it into a song lol.. @newbie715,thanks for calming my nerves when I needed it most ans for crossing toes Nd fingers with me...may God bless you.. and for other gurus, thanks so much everyone for all your contributions and invaluable pieces of information which has been so helpful...

I got my visa in just three weeks, and I must say, these three weeks seemed like three centuries...I have never been this nervous and anxious before in my life, apart from the first time I got on a plane many years ago...lol... this wait is truly emotionally draining...now I can only imagine what people who have to wait for many months to get a decision go through... phewww!

My timelime:

28th October - Online Application on the
My visa was free of charge because am an EEA family member. No IHS fee too. ..Alsocollected my TB test result which was done on the 27th of October

2nd November - Appointment day/ Biometrics done, I wasn't interviewed on this day...all my documents were collected from me.

4th November - I missed a call from Abuja BHC.

5th November - I got a call from Abuja BHC and a very short interview was conducted. Luckily, when I was asked on the phone when last I saw my husband, I tokd the lady he was in the country at that time, so she asked for his number and I gave him, then my husband  was called a couple of minutes after I was called and was also interviewed .

16th November - I got an email from Admin Review Abuja saying my application was a non-straightforward one and would take more days than it normally would have taken for my application to be processed... I wont lie guys, I was so panicky... nervous and wondered what the email meant but my nerves were calmed by@Justwise, @Portsmouth and @Newbie that it was a standard email sent to applicants to let them know they wouldn't meet up with the stipulated processing time.

20th November - a call was made at my husband's place of work. His Director picked and he was asked if my husband had resumed work, he replied in the affirmative and asked the caller if he wished to speak to my husband, the caller said no, and the call ended.

24th November - I received two emails, the first one informed me that a decision has been made and my passport and documents would soon be dispatched. Second mail came 25 minutes later saying my passport and documents were ready for collection.

I wasn't in Abuja that day so I had to make my way back to Abuja the following day.i arrived on the 25th but decided to go to TLScontact office the following day.

26th November(today)- I went to TLScontact and my passport and all supporting  documents were given to me. And inside my passport sits the Visa, issued on the 19th of November.
I am so happy. Hubby has already started looking for a flight for me. Can't wait to spend this Christmas season with hubby.
When I got the decision made email and noticed that the same GWF reference number given to me during application was the same one in the emails... I became sad and concluded that the visa has been denied...because I have read here how some people said that if u don't get a new reference number on the decision email, it means you have been denied...  well, that seems not to be the case with mine.

I pray that for everyone who is waiting for a decision to be made on their visa application, that you all shall receive positive decisions. I wish you all the best of luck and God's favour. For those intending to apply, if you follow the guidelines laid in this great forum, I promise you, you can never go wrong.
Thanks everyone once again.

Congratulations. Enjoy your stay and Christmas with hubby.

Continuation

The entry clearance officer's decision to refuse you entry justifies my suspicion.

If you want to visit a family member in the UK who is not a close relation e.g. spouse, civil partner, father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister, grandfather, grandmother, grandson or granddaughter, you should apply for a standard visitor visa and use a hotel reservation instead of your cousin's contact which ruined your application. This is considered as no ties to the UK.

The ECO was also not satisfied with your job ties and financial circumstances in Nigeria which is justifiable to refuse your application. It is not enough reason to submit pay slips and bank statements which are not from a verifiable source regardless of the closing balance.

All cash in flow into your account must be from a verifiable source which can be explained in your application with paper evidence, reason it is advisable you separate your salary account from business/other accounts.

The ECO did not mention your family ties to Nigeria not because he/she didn't take cognisance or took it into consideration, but because they were other ineluctably reasons to refuse your application.

If your marriage is legally constituted, you should get a certified copy of your marriage certificate from the registry with a sworn affidavit from the court. Also get a sworn affidavit for your children's birth certificate. This should be attached to your application and explained in the cover letter should questions arise which you won't be present to defend.

Great Job Visa Officer.

Base on your response to @Steryville and people’s experiences during interview.

Change in circumstances could mean different things from Marriage to having a new child, change in finances and capital, Promotion etc.

Question;

If a genuine businessman applies for a non-immigrant visa in January 2015 and was refused a visa. In February 2015, he won a Government contract worth $10M to construct a bridge and decides to reapply for same visa category in March 2015 for a business visit or Tourism and submits a new application.

To the businessman, the aforementioned contract is considered a “change in circumstances”. How does he convince the visa officer that under two Months, there had been tremendous changes in his business knowing fully well that he cannot mention it at the interview neither will the visa officer collects contract papers as a proof? (we understand it is against your work ethics to coach people on how to answer questions during interview, so please in such circumstances, what is to be done?)

Thank you.

Regards.

Good day Visa Officer,

You have stated repeatedly that the documents an applicant needs to bring are the confirmation page and passport.

In the middle of an interview, a visa officer asks for one or more of these documents e.g. Marriage Certificate, Business/Employment Documents and Tax Clearance etc.

What should the applicant say or do?

Can this lead to visa rejection knowing fully well that most visa officers are impatient?

Regards.

hi guys plsss help me out on this one...am a trader I buy and sell food stuff I will like to visit u.k for 2 weeks but as u all know a business like mine don't have to be registered... I am sponsoring my self plsss wat can I do about my condition note am a trader at oyingbo market...my main consine is about the documents plsss ur advice will be needed

As a trader (business owner) you must be tax compliance to apply for a UK visa, hence the need for your business to be registered. The ECO can only evaluate your business through its tax clearance certificate to determine its strength and capacity. You'll be accessed through your business to establish if it's substantial enough to bring you back home after your visit or it's a business you can abandon to live and work illegally in the UK.

That being said you will also need your statement of account with verifiable income, business receipts, sale and purchase receipts, and other documents which can proof as your ties to your home country.

Hello i greet the house,

I Have applied for UK tourist visa in Abuja in 2014 and i was refused, the reason why i was reused was that.....

1. you state you are self employed as evidence of this you have provided your certificate of registration of your business. you however provided no evidence that this business is currently trading. i am therefore not.

2. you have also provided your personal bank statement as evidence of your funds. i note that all of the payments to your account are in cash including those noted as salary. as you have not provided evidence of the source of funds paid in your account, i am not satisfied the funds in your account are wholly owned by you and area true reflection of your financial circumstance in Nigeria.

I have therefore refused your application because i am not satisfied, on the balance of probabilities, that you meet all of the requirements of the relevant paragraph of the united kingdom i migrations rules.

These are the document submitted then
1. Statement of account
2. Marriage pictures
3. Corporate affair certificate
4. Company Invoice
5. Hotel reservation
6. Marriage certificate
7. Tax Card

I have start making transfer in my account now not only cash deposit But Which one is now evidence of trading because i want to reapply again in Lagos and i want the house to advise me what to do because i want my visa granted this time. I have read how you guess have help many people here that is why i am also running to you guess to advise me what to do concerning the reason the mentioned about my refusal. I believe in your guys. Look forward to hear from you guys soon. Thank you

One beautiful thing about the UK visa policy is that, for every visa denial, a letter is included detailing reasons for refusal which can easily be addressed, unlike the US where non-immigrant visa applicants are handed the standard generic letter each time they are refused a visa without detail explanation.

In your own case, ECO was not satisfied that your claimed income was generated from your business. That means the funds in your account does not commensurate with your business as stated in your application. In flows in your account must be from a verifiable source.

You can reapply, only if you have addressed the issue raised by the ECO. You must include contract documents, transaction receipts, sale and purchase receipts, and other documents which can proof as your ties to Nigeria.

Good Morning LadyGuinivere, Justwise and all members,
Please I have 3 questions to ask 1. What to fill for this question in ds160 form ( Provide your employment information for the last five years, if applicable). Were you previously employed? Yes or No. I was previously employed in the year 2008 and started my own business since year 2009 up till date more than 5 years as stated in the question. If I didn't mention it in the form hope no problem or I should mention my previous job.

2. It is necessary to fill arrival/ departure flight when you are not sure the airline that will cheap when you want to fly.

3. How to answer this question when ask CEO of a particular business ( Where are you working)? is a business name will be the answer or address where the business was located? Thanks

1. "DOES NOT APPLY" because it's more than five years, but this can be explained during interview if asked.

2.If you've made any plan, then YES otherwise click "DOES NOT APPLY"

3.Don't try to Impress the VO, he/she knows anybody can register a company in Nigeria and claim the title ""CEO"
Example;

Question: Where do your work?

Answer: I am a project manager at XYZ LTD responsible for contract management and negotiation; It is also my responsibility to prepare technical and l bids for tender opening. etc. (abeg na example oo!!!)

The VO can evaluate the size of your company by the numbers of years in operation and through its Tax Clearance, but unfortunately your tax clearance won't be checked.

Just be truthful in your application and interview. E nor pass like that.

From what I understand, once a hotel has been booked, you'll always receive a confirmation email sent to your mailbox.

Your case is tricky; The ECO wants to see evidence of your hotel reservation clearly stating your full names, the dates of check-in and out, the hotel address, telephone and email contact details, because it is not in all cases a call is placed to a hotel for confirmation. On this subject, I'm afraid your application might be refused because.
