yaki84: Nothing like little economics bro... I understand economics to the fullest.. U didn't make sense atall admit it. Depot price is the same, so dont even think filling stations r gaining. The only people or organisation that gains from this is nnpc cos thr is now less import of product n d overbloated figure of 60millionlitres consumption tagged will now be adjusted to something lesser. Alright let me break it down a bit. I know complex things like this is difficult to understand by the common man on the street. So the news is like; Nigerians save #1 on fuel due to border closure. What does this mean? Bureau of statistics have reported that WE (Nigerians) consume 40 Million liters of fuel daily. This means that a price change from 145 to 144 means Nigerians (WE) save 40Million a day or 1.2 billion a month OR in order words we (Nigerians) can then spend this 1.2 billion Naira on other commodities that month. Capital market use indices like this to predict growth and market rates. One naira difference is even huge! 25Kobo can make a huge difference. When you break this down to individuals it then looks like its nothing. Like; Each consumer saves #1 on fuel which someone like you dont find interesting. Thanks. |

[s] kirkwood: If this money is ever paid, P & ID will be 6.5 times richer than Seychelles, and 4.6 times richer than the richest company in Africa.
Will it be paid ?
The court has simply enforced the arbitral award under the initial arbitration proceedings.
It is one of the easiest judgement to be executed. Place a lien on Nigeria's foreign reserves, attaching the order of court. Once processed, money gone. No need to get the Nigerian government's approval.
This amount could comfortably have been spent on our educational sector, to upgrade the schools and research centres.
Appeal What are you appealing against? Court's hands are tied in matters of arbitration, except where fraud is involved. English courts are not Nigerian courts. You can't bend them.
The best deal is to negotiate, but I can't see Nigeria paying below 3 billion dollars, which in any case would still be over 1 trillion naira. [/s] |

I felt really bad that day.some nigerians could be so cruel..in fact MANY. Hmm, calling me stupid? I laugh!! Anyways, I have been here and active far longer than most. I know better mate, and am in the best position to decide who to give and who to be skeptical of. My private mails are filled with such type of needy requests and when I check their profile, they are basically newly registered members. When I saw his post, I decided to see how long he have been here to know the authenticity and ask for bank details only to discover he just registered few days ago. Not that I don't believe him but I am just being careful. Thanks. |

Hakeem12: People who were taught not to question their religious indoctrination will always feel persecuted by those who have the common sense to question their beliefs. This is their cognitive dissonance kicking in. They can't believe anyone has the audacity to question what they were taught not to. People can refuse to go to church or mosque because they don't want to, it's that simple. It's funny when religious people look at you with pity in their eyes, when you reject their teachings, like they have won the lotto and you're missing out on something big. Let people be, you preach live and let live, yet wake people up every money with noise, preach on buses, go from house to house and shiit. If religious people had their way, they would throw people in jail for not practicing religion. I say this because one moment they are enticing you with heaven, the next, scaring you with eternal damnation. Interesting |
