Nairaland GeneralRe: The Execution Of 'Doctor Oyenusi' A Notorious Robber by fuke(m): 2:26pm On Dec 15, 2013
psky: Now we all know newspapers have always applied sensationalism to sell their stories, it was most likely exaggerated.
Oyenusi was human like everybody, a single shot to the chest by a good marksman would have finished him off.

Also, no one ever said Oyenusi died a coward, the op said he smiled even while tied to the stake and he had pics to prove it.
"For a man who said bullets had no power to penetrate his skin,he slumped in seconds, surrendering to the high-velocity missiles directed at his mortal vessel. His fragile human body could not withstand the pitiless hail of gunfire, amplified by the metallic"

See the bolded portion

I was not there, but it was reported that
at a stage it was only him left alive on
the stake and took minutes of firing to stop him.

Oyenusi definitely did not slump in seconds

Nice post.
An educative exposition into history.

But I want to add a missing link.

Oyenusi did not die like a chicken as portrayed.
He was defiant to the end and long after others were silenced he
was still there on the stake holing tenaciously to life.
Eventually, it took 98 hot lead to silence him.

I know because the next day after the execution which was a
Sunday, the front page of Sunday Times, the most widely read weekly then screamed
"98 bullets to finish Oyenusi".

Nice Job though and what a refreshing way to start a Friday.

FashionRe: Wearing Socks With Native Attire. Hit Or Miss? by fuke(m): 8:58am On Dec 04, 2013
Socks have nothing to do with the dress.

When you have shoes on, you must wear a pair of socks.

It is more comfortable and besides the socks absorbs
the urea produced by your feet thereby preventing nauseating smell.

You may have noticed when some people off their shoes they pollute their
surrounding with some foul smell. This is because their feet have perspired
and because there is no socks to absorb, the odor becomes innevitable.

The socks also protect your feet from being peeled by the rough surface
of the leather. Some people develop cones on their toes because they don't wear socks.

In the tropics, it is even more necessary to have socks with shoes because of our weather.

So put on your socks with your shoes with your agbada or babanriga.
It is not only necessary but compulsory.

Ok but add these.
1. Have a separate acoount for internet business and leave just enough money there.
When you want to purchase again transfer fund to it from your bigger account.

2. Do not have ATM card for your big acoount even for transactions here.

3. You are safer with merchants using Paypal. They protect buyers using them.
BusinessRe: Safety Measures For Online Shopping. by fuke(m): 8:23am On Nov 28, 2013
slightlyMad: 1. When buying, make sure you are forwarded to interswitchng.com or etranzact's website before entering your card info
if you are not, then abandon the cart.

2. stay off website that uses iframe to load interswitch websites, make sure you are able to see the website address in the addressbar before entering your details.

3. do i need to tell you not to click a link in your email telling you to update you bank info?

4. when buying from foreign websites, make sure you are not subscribed to auto-services like auto-renewals, auto-billing
thats Oyinbo man's way of scamming you monthly.

5. when you see payment on delivery option, opt for it when buying for the first time.

6. whatever you have to buy online, stay off Konga.com. they do not offer 1-3 days shipping as promised and you have to threaten them to get your money back. they will rather offer you options like "we have another shoe that looks like the one you want but in another color", when you say no, they tell you they have credited your online wallet so that you can use the money next time you wanna shop with them
when you say no, they will promise to credit you in 5 business day (an attempt to punish you) after which you will have to post to their Facebook page and you will be credited in 3 hours.

CrimeRe: Molested Repeatedly By A Trusted Male Friend by fuke(m): 5:49am On Oct 19, 2013
ajas baba: A friend of mine (names removed by me) reached me and invited me to come to Benin City for an event. I have known him since 2011 so I tot nothing of it. Like no harm can be done after all we go way back and stuff.

So I booked my ticket from Lagos and I flew to Benin. On the 13th that was a Sunday, and it was the day of the event. After the event we went to chill at a hotel in GrA Benin.

He had a Suite there. We were with other friends, we all talked, laughed, gisted and all until about 10pm. Everyone started leaving gradually, I wanted to call a cab to take me to my own hotel, but he kept on insisting on dropping me. I was like it is even better, I would save my cab fare. So I had to wait for everybody to leave before he could drop me.

Every body finally left and I was about to stand up to leave but he kept on insisting that I should stay and I kept on saying it was late that I have to travel back to Lagos the following day because of work.

Then when I stood up angrily to go and get a cab, he pulled me and slapped me and asked me 2 sit. I thought it was a joke at first because I just couldn't believe it. Then I took my phone to call out and he seized them saying I am not going anywhere. He tied me up in his hotel, stuffed my mouth so I couldn't scream.

He raped me over and over. He said his baba said I was the perfect candidate for his rituals and for his upcoming elections to take place properly next year. I was shocked, I couldn't even believe it. I have heard stories never thought I would have seen it first hand.

Every 2 hours of everyday I was raped, mishandled and rough handled. I was helpless. I wept and cried all to no avail because no one could hear me. Then on Tuesday evening he went out and came back and rubbed something on his manhood and said that it was what his baba gave him to use on me when sleeping with me. That I would loose my womb and my good fortune. I begged, I cried, I did all I could but he refused.

At night when he tried to rape me with what the baba gave him, his manhood wasn't functioning, he tried and tried but it just wasn't getting up then he started to hit me and tried again but nothing and he left in annoyance to go and meet the baba. He was so much in a hurry he left the door open. He didn't lock it with the key.

I was there waiting for him to get back. Around 9am this morning an hotel staff came, they knocked no one answered and then they went down to get the other key only for them to find out the door was even opened from the beginning. And there I was. They helped me out and all. The names he used in filling the hotel forms are all fake. He is still at large.

The police are on a hunt for him. His wife is in police custody. So I want to use this medium to reach anyone that knows anything about him. He calls himself honourable .... (removed and other details too). I just really thank God for life because this is sumone I thought I knew and I was certain. God saw me through, it's not because I am too fine or too holy.

This shold be a warning to everybody. "You can only be sure of yourself, no one else. For those who would say Ladun this story was made up, sit down there and keep saying it was made up. She gave all the man's details, because she wants people here to help her find him. But you see, I am not an FBI agent or a police officer, and since the case is already at a Police Station, the Police should do their job. More so, I only put this up for ladies to learn.

Trust no one especially the opposite sex. They don;t love you more than your family, if they give you a thousand naira they are expecting you to give them something worth ten thousand naira in return.

We thank God for her life."
Anyway, op, I hope u find help and punish the guy accordingly![/quote]You call this molestation ?
this is rape, assault, battering, attempted murder.

Hope the lady went to hospital for tests and reports

oyinmama: It isn't a new occurrence. Back in 2003, I remember using a phone torch to carry on with a Caesarian section at Adeoyo Hospital in Ibadan. PHCN had done its worst during surgery, main generator and back-up had both broken down. We couldn't stop, so we made do with the torch of those small Nokia phones back then to finish. There were also instances when I had to set up intravenous fluid infusion for babies via the scalp using lantern light held up by colleagues.......
Doc, I salute you.

I have seen medics here performing in circumstances indescribable.

As Asiwaju Tinubu said, ours are some of the finest if the facilities are there.

Foa a fact, this rut had been there for long.

In 1983 or thereabout, in Zaria, I watched 2 young Nigerian doctors battling to save the lives
of 2 young women involved in a car accident using, not a lamp but a lantern.

I was with them till 2am. You should come and see how these 2 young men
were sweating as if they were digging a well.

Since then, I would vacate my seat for a medic no matter how young unless he
refuses and most of then would.

Another smart salute for the Nigerian medic.
