Business › Re: A Business I Can Do Alongside My Banking Job by fuke(m): 10:32am On Jan 29, 2010
@ Poster,

Inbusiness, you do what you have passion for and what you are knowledgeable on. As a finance man, i will give you 2 that willgel.

1.SMALL LOANS. People are always in short of money especially salary earners. GET AN OFFICE AND 2 GUYS TO VISIT OFFICES AND INTRODUCE THE BUSINESS. tHEY WILL ALWAYS BE WILLING TO  HAVE MONEY TILL THE END OF THE MONTH. TWO PEOPLE WILL GUARANTEE THEM FROM THEIR PLACE OF WORK ESPECIALLY THE ACCOUNTS BECAUSE THEY WILL DEDUCT FROM SOURCE.  Give these small loans and charge interest . You can charge as high as 20 %  depending on negotiation. The control is you only sign the chqs and repaymentS only to your account.

. CAVEAT DO not extend this to  non salary earners.

2. LPO FINANCING Similar to above but you finance LPO of blue ships. Get in touch witjh their purchasing dept, they know those who need money to finance LPo. finance the Lpo share the profit.

CAVEAT. Make sure payment is domiciled to your account and do not finance jeku jeku  companies

Politics › Re: Senate Gives Obama's Admin 7-day Utimatum To Remove Nigeria From The Black List by fuke(m): 3:21pm On Jan 06, 2010
This listing is unnecessary and unfair but to fight it by giving ultimatum to the USA is a wrong approach.

The Senators do not even have the power, that aside, they are using the last weapon first. Thoughtless
bunch who act before reasoning. So what happens after seven days?. Nothing. You do not give order you
 cannot enforce.

This is a cerebral war. A war of integrity of leaders. A war of upright  and patriotic leadership.
All these in short supply here. By the time it comes to  banning Nigerians from visiting USA, Mark and the
economic leeches in the NA will chicken out. They cannot sacrifice the good things and their properties in
the USA for their countrys honor and integrity.

I am not an Engineer, and I may be wrong, because the USA is internet, I know when the chips are down they
will black us out on the internet if possible .You know what that means in fighting a war like this.

For Gods sake, this is a just war but being fought with a wrong weapon,  The  president  and our top brass inculuding
the senate president should have summoned all living ambassadors, international experts Like Pro Bolaji Akinyemi,
Mbu and orders to brain storm on this assue. While doing that, he should have also solicited the support of Britailn
and other international power blocks. But then this is a country without president.

As I am writing this , these experts and top goverment officers should be locked up in a room finding a way out.
They wont do that, instead they are issueing useless ultimatum.I can bet, they will be scattered  all over the
place  enjoying with women of easy virtue. A country with such leadership is never respected.

NOW CAUTION. THIS IS NOT A TIME SOME FANATICS START BURNING CHURCHES AND SOUTHERNERS ON THE PRETEXT
OF FIGHTING AMERICA. DOING THAT DOES NOT HURT THEM IN ANYWAY.

Career › Re: Dilemma ! Lecturing Or Intergrated Marketing Job ? CC: Ajanlekoko, Jarus, Tk417 et al by fuke(m): 1:07pm On Dec 15, 2009
These two jobs do not look alike. Adverti glamorous. Lecturing is more conservatine.
You should know where you fit in more.

There is more money in advertising world and you will know a lot of influential people
which is capital on its own. Again your rise does not depend on how many papers you write
but creativity. It is good to make your money early, do well for yourself and who knows you
may  make enough money to establish your own university and employ profesors.

Li fe is short on this side of the world, when you buy a new horse ride it very well.

Chukwukadi

You didnt say which of the universities you are which may influence my advice. But all the same take this.

Now, you must understand that your primary objective is the certiicate, a good one at that, not the money
as such. Therefore business like selling on the road will eat up your time and consequently your studies will suffer.

Internet marketing I do not advise. it takes time and I tell you it is not so easy to hit gold as they claim.
Photocopier andtypesetting unless new machines may drain your fund faster than you envisage.

Go master a good recipe to make yam porrage and prepare it in the evenings for fellow students. you will not regret it. They will come to you
becuse you are one of them. You may need a hand so join with a friend. 10k will start you off.

  Good luck.

Car Talk › Re: Suv Or Saloon Car? Brand New Or Used? by fuke(m): 4:14pm On Dec 08, 2009
Used is not used. A one or two years old car  in Europe is like new and since you will register it here the newness psychology is there.

Now having  used a car for 2 years will bring the value down drastically and it will still be problem free. Those who know the secret of making and
saving money use the trick in Europe. Like a poster said, the guy does not have to spend all 3.8 on the car. Create jobs.

The nature of the road compells an SUV

     Good luck

Business › Re: Is Haulage Business Viable In Nigeria? by fuke(m): 8:32am On Dec 08, 2009
As long as the trains are not there, haulaging wll be a cash cow. Like all businesses it has to be properly controlled and managed.
10 trucks is big   business. You can attach them to companies or find a spot for yourselves somewhere. You can be sure of business,
they will come. I f you  specialise on moving cows from the North and Palm oil to the North, you will be tired of money. I f you attach
them to blue ships like NBL, you will get the same result. There is no way you can lose, but control, control, control.
One of you can move down to Nigeria to manage the biz. Before you  know it, you would have grown an octopus.

       Good luck.

Business › Re: 3 Hot New Businesses You Can Do In 2010! by fuke(m): 11:40pm On Dec 07, 2009
laplace:
Hot Businesses indeed!!! ID Card printinghuh  What is the quality of ID cards printed for N30?  How many companies or institutions can print in thousands and how many times an they print in a year?  How many other people are into the business and what are ones competitive advantage?  To me, printing ID cards may be a good business to earn a living, but it isn't hot at all.

Online marketing may be good for some people, but not for all, especially with loads of online scams, poor internet connectivity and lack of access.  I was thinking hot businesses will be haulage, entertainment, hospitality and stuff.
Ok pal. Add food, transportaton, education in all ramifications and you are on. Id card , no. Printing not for everybody as you can easily run into debt.

The Professor by now would know that Pharmacology is emperical science where reactions are predictable.
For instance you know that Hydrochloric acid on Zinc will produce Hydrogen whether in Nigeria or Iceland.
Humans do not react like that.

When the lady took this job I knew she would quickly deplete the credits she acquired at NAFDAC.

The fact of the matter is that Nigeria is a bad product and as Kotler, the father of modern Marketing said, no
marketing can sell a bad product. That man is being vindicated once again by this ladys experience at rebranding
  Nigeria.

Nigeria is rotten inside and tons of detergent can not clean her. Nigeria needs heavy dose of antibiotics or surgical operation.

Nairaland General › Reps House Of Empty Seats by fuke(op): 10:45pm On Dec 03, 2009
Circa Ipm today. I saw Speaker Bankole on NTA presiding over a house of reps full of empty seats.
More than 90% were not there. What type of law makers do we have? Media houses should start
publishing attendace on daily basis as they do capital market transactions.

These people collect millions for doing nothing.

Actions like thiss give Nigeria the bad immage we get all over the place. Little countries that are not as big as Osun state will bluff us.

This internet thing is like magic to miilions. In the complex where I have my office, there are 100 shops. Nobody else owns a laptop and I confirm
80% cannot surf the internet. So do not blame the guy. When I was getting into this internet thing I could have paid more than 5k for configuration
and that is why service providers put a big notice that it is free. I must confess that I have bought a lot of rubbish. One occasion, a guy sent me a
material I had bought elsewhere word for word. Do not blame him, instead, the gurus should protect people like the poster.

As for surfwell, moderator should contact him to defend himself. If he fails to do so, his identity should be exposed and be banned from the forum.

Perhaps it is time to make photograph compusory for joining the forum.

When I see reactions like this and they are common on this forum
I wonder the kind of universities these people attended and the type o
      of lecturers they passed through.

We should be civil with words. You can make your point without being vulgar.
I suggest Seun removes this thread immediately.
