PoliticsRe: Niger State Can’t Pay New Minimum Wage - Governor Aliyu by fuke(m): 5:27pm On Jun 01, 2011
The  federal Government should allow eah state to pay according to prevailing condition.
In a federation you cannot enforce this kind of thing unless you enforce many other factorers.

Now, the truth is that some states cannot pay this wage with what they get from the center.
Ekiti and Oyo for example will be axphixiated to death if they do.  If oyo uses all her allocation
to pay the wage, it will still not be enough.

I am not against good pay but let people work for their money. The civil sevice is overbloated .
It should be reduced by about 70%. Before I am crucified, I know what I am saying. I was in an office
the other da,y 9 out of 10 there were sleeping. The tenth person was dozing.
There is a guy here in a fed ministry. He resumes work on Tuesdaty and travel again on Thursday.
  Things cannot continue like this.

If an ailment needs a sugical operation, you go for the scapel, not tablets.
PoliticsRe: I Think Nairaland Has Been Tough On " Akala" Of Oyo State As He Bows Out Today by fuke(m): 8:33am On May 31, 2011
You know at times, I think Akalas performane is not too bad compared to other PDP  governors.

I think he is much better than OGD and Oni in Ekiti state. I have live in Ibadan for more than 40 years
and I am from Ekiti, so  I should know what I am saying. The road to my house which I have been living
in Ibadan for more than 20 years was not tarred until last year and I heard the Teaching hospital is enormous.

Akalas major problem is packaging. He  dresses like a motor pack kingpin. He fights everybody,  He talks anyhow.
Now, even if you were Awolowo you will lose election. He  just had to go.

Anyway a member of Asiwaju Team is  here. An  omoluabi is here.  Ibadan will rise again

@ Posters

Please note that until very recently Adeseun was  a PDP guy. He read the political barometer properly
and switches allegiance. He still has PDP blood in him and thinks the typical PDP.

By the time he sits with The Tinubus. The Akandes, The Aregbesolas, The Fashola, his orientation
will change and will no more shoot his mouth anyhow.

For now he is talking for PDP. Hear what Ojudu said in Ekiti. He said the Pay is too much.
He derided what they call constituency allowance which he says is usurping the field of the executive.

I remeber trying to secure N10m loan facility from GTBank one time to increase the capital base of high profitable Biz (Golden Penny Semovita distributirship)i was laready into for over 5years all to no avail after presenting cerified C of O from Oyo state government and with property valued over N15m (Forced sale value) by Jide Taiwo on the said plot in a high browse area in Ibadan.
O boy, May God help us in this country.

Banks will only give you about 30% of the value of your collateral. Even at that level they still run into repayment problems.

There are bad bakers and even worse customers. Many Nigerian will take the loan and wouldn't want to pay back.
By and large we will get out of the woods.

Now, if that your business is still on and you want like 5m. give them a challenge.
Go to their HQ and book an appointment with the top man on loans.
If you cannot see him write him a memo and courier it. Tell them you will be rendering sales back
to them daily and they should appoint an account officer for the account.

Approaching them boldly like this tells them you are serious and will pay back.

If the man does not gel, go to the MD. i am sure if you have a good and bankable proposal
they will oblige but in your case not more than 5m

No bank will take survey plan. Pursue your c of o quickly. Meanwhile try coops but not money lenders.

You may also talk to rich individuals to sponsor the project and share the profit.
As long as it is feasible, there are Nigerian who will take it up.

But first of all have a tet a tet with your banker, he may offer some useful advise.

Great article.
Yes, great article.

Surprised that some cannot see the relevance of this piece when some near useless topics like "A kiss B" have taken ample space here.

People cannot see the lesson in a poor woman struggling to raise a medic governor and a university VC (iron clad determination)

They cannot see lesson in a woman changing trade so as to meet the training bills.(tenacity)

They cannot see any lesson in a 10 year old deciding at that age what he would be and attaining it.(commitment and perseverance)

They did not see a lesson in making a promise to buy his granny a car and actually fulfilling it.(responsibility and fate keeping)

They cannot see a lesson in an 80 old saluting the greatness off her husband

All that said, they cannot see the fun intended in water pouring aspect(humor as an elixir)

This article is a mater piece.

Honestly, at times, I wish there are ways to screen the academic qualifications and  IQ of some posters here.

I have Good news for You . .  We have the The North and The South while the votes of the North will be divided between The 3 Northerners with Buhari taking the majority and also GEJ sharing a percentage also, The South (SW = 70%  undecided ) stands United in our resolve to unleash our power where it counts . .Voting GEJ . . .and i Hope your Jumat service will largely influence places like Kaduna South, Abuja, Plateau, Niger , Adamawa, Kogi, cos if they be found lacking in those areas  . .then all i have to say to you is sorry in advance . . .

Your analysis is correct but factor in these points.

Many still didn't come out to vote thinking that it would be rigging as usual.

Many didn't come out because they were boasting of unleashing their goons on the people.

Many were disenfranchised. My wife and daughter couldn't get card and they are Ac.

Influence of  money.  PDP people were carrying money all over the place and this
had some effect even as many collected without voting for them.

No, Akala will not win this election.

By 2015 PDP would have gone for ever in Yoruba land.

They do not belong here.

It is not about Seun, It is about Nigeria.

Believe me internet literacy in Nigeria is very  poor.

And for the students who are internet literate,  most waste
their time on social portals like Facebook, tweeter.

The second problem is that the internet friendly networks like starcom do not work outside the big cities.
I know they do not operate in Ekiti and if you use other networks you will die of frustration,

I was in Ado Ekiti the other day, I could not access my mail  and  nairaland. I stormed out of the cafe in annoyance.
