Oga you can do better na!

Politics remains a divisive contest. Even in other areas of human endeavour like sports where the stakes are even lower, circumspection is naturally observed in appointing umpires.

So you tell me the propriety of Buhari choosing to appoint a head of INEC related to him never mind the remoteness of the relationship.

One thing is very vivid: either Buhari is taking Nigerians as fools or he sees the country as his private estate which he would govern as a sole administrator.

I am appalled you even arguing something as obvious as the above.
Your assertion can only hold water if elections were not between political parties, but between north and south. Until the latter is the case, the current INEC head is valid umpire.

You have still not told us the part of the national character principle that was violated with her appointment. Until you can, all your screams are irrelevant.

For me, Jonathan's greatest legacy was appointing Jega, a man known to take no prisoners. Note that Jega made his name as ASUU president in fighting the military authorities to a standstill.

One would have expected that Buhari, a man whose ascent to power benefited from the efforts of political activism democracy entrenchment, would have known better than to prepare a veritable ground for favouritism and compromising election results.

Commonsense ought to have suggested he appoint an eligible candidate from the south. At least, that would have allayed the suspicion that Buhari has a design on the presidency.
[s]One would have expected...
Commonsense ought to have...[/s]

Can you now see you are pointless on this issue? Your accusation was that PMB promised balanced representation, which i pointed out to be baseless.

Then you came with his abandoning his pledge to adhere to the national character principle. i asked how? Again you came up empty...appealing to sentiments.

Are you then suggesting a southern INEC candidate would deliberately frustrate PMB? With regard to Jega's appointment, it is open knowledge that the PDP did all they could to retire him before the elections. The Orubebe saga cements their opinion and intentions regarding him.

Here is a thread I did on Nigerian farms owned by poli thiefs. I was wondering how much IGR is created with the crops. It's utterly unbelievable that the North is so crop wealthy but the infrastructure is dilapidated and the majority of the population is poverty stricken.
The infrastructure in the north is miles better that what is in the East. I have been to both places.

You are the one being deliberately obtuse.

Buhari swore to an oath to uphold the constitution of the land and ensuring that the principle of national character as enshrined therein remained sacrosanct. Has he done that?

What exactly has he done to promote the cause of democracy by appointing the present INEC helmsperson?
What are your reservations with the appointment? What exact part of the dictates of national character were not adhered to?

Let us maintain objectivity.

You are feigning ignorance, abi?

Tell me you support the nepotism that Buhari has made the cornerstone of his government.

Jonathan may have erred, but he left a legacy of selflessness. He gave us Jega, a fairly disinterested election umpire.

Buhari is foisting his family relative on Nigeria and you expect patriotic Nigerians men of goodwill like Bishop Kukah to keep mute?
You are deliberately conflating issues, I will take no part in that.

You asserted that PMB is breaking his promise of equal representation. Again I ask, what promise? Or don't you know what you were saying?

ISLAM is never a problem but blessing to humanity. The problem of the North is their elites and its should never be blamed on ISLAM. There is no where ISLAM support illiteracy, their leaders just blind folded their gullible followers for their own personal gain. ISLAM simply means PEACE which the hausas are doing negative to that. I will not want to drag too much but I just want to correct your notion that ISLAM embraces illiteracy. Prophet Mohammad in his words make it compulsory for every Muslims male/female to acquire knowledge, he never said religious knowledge, he said every knowledge that will move your society/ country forward in a positive manner. He even went ahead to compulsory muslims in his lifetime to travel to SHIN which is modern day CHINA to seek for knowledge.
Its quite silly to try to defend Islam from wrongful stereotyping, and then going ahead to baselessly accuse Hausa's of violence.

Since when did the NE consist of Hausa/Fulani? The people you refer to are Kanuri, not Hausa.

Besides, ISIS not located north of Nigeria so I'm struggling to understand your original point.

Regarding illiteracy, who embraces illiteracy? I want you to please explain.

Father Kukah is a man I respect so much. He should not allow any sentiments becloud his objectivity.

I cannot possibly entertain the idea that a man should not pay for his crimes, because he did what he was supposed to do.

Buhari should start walking the talk.

He said he was for everybody and for nobody.

Obama came with "Yes We Can" and is being rated along that catch-phrase.

We are watching Buhari on his all-inclusive government promise.

1 million gbosas for you Bishop!

BTW, has Buhari been fulfilling his promise of fairness and equity and national character in appointments so far?
What promise? Kindly clarify.

By "incompetent", do you mean "not from my tribe". Because apparently you are a fulani just like the current commander in chief. While the previous commander in chief was not a fulani. Are you sure you are not being a tribalist ? For your info, the situation GEJ left was better than the one today. bht has even started making new videos of successive attacks on FOBs. The guy you are calling incompetent took back a part of Nigeria the size of belgium in only 6 weeks.
Its not my conundrum if you're unable to see without ethnic lens.

GEJ failed to lead the army at any point. His emergency six-week operation is an indictment on himself if you've not realised.

A commander NEVER allows his army to be reduced to a fleeing force, before taking selfish action primed at earning electoral capital.

Of course it is not a military regime...how does mandating a constitutionally created EFCC to investigate and prosecute suspected government criminals amount to such an assertion?

Jonathan was reported to have also sought for understanding on alleged corrupt practices and mismanagement of funds under his administration, with a source saying the former President claimed he was hearing about some of the graft allegations for the first time.

“He said whatever steps or actions the President intends to take; it should be within the framework of the peace accord the two leaders signed. Obviously, he wanted soft landing.

“He also pledged to cooperate with Buhari as much as possible on all steps he is going to take.”

15. Entrenched a culture of unrestrained and uncontrolled corruption and impunity among public officers.

16. Sabotaged our refineries by starving them of crude oil so as to continue the corrupt and fraudulent oil swaps and offshore processing agreements (OPA).

17. Caused the death of hundreds of young and innocent Nigerian applicants in the Immigration job scam.

18. Denied the kidnapping of the Chibok girls for almost two months before making any effort to rescue them which all failed.

19. Destroyed the Nigerian Armed Forces with massive corruption in arms purchases and killing the morale of our officers, to the point where they were so frustrated at their neglect that they opened fire on a senior officer.

20. Embarrassing Nigeria on the international scene with the disgraceful begging for a phone call with the President of Morocco who snubbed him, causing a scandal which eventually led to them withdrawing their Ambassador from Nigeria.

Shall we continue?

Politics is about furthering your interest through representation. Wrong?

If you're playing/participating in politics, you should be furthering your interest.

In whose interest is another Northern Presidency after PMB? The North.....no?

People should just learn to be principled. Its just being responsible.

Nigeria can only respect your signature if they allow for egalitarian society in which fiscal federalism is the ONLY option... otherwise it's all man to your tent wink

Maybe you need my signature and moniker too...thanks
Your signature is quite ironic considering you accuse PMB of being vindictive. Do you know what that smells like?

Anyway do you expect another northerner to grant you fiscal federalism if PMB refuses to? Nigeria does not need another northern President immediately after PMB. It is not good for our unity.
