I don't usually comment on Nairaland. But your post struck me.

I graduated from the same UNN Nsukka campus in 2016. A friend of mine that graduated from Pharmacy department is earning 80k right now. See, no course is that special nowadays.

For most courses there is supply more than the demand.

For you to know, I am a Copywriter and Digital Marketing Strategist.

I learnt every of my skills after my graduation from UNN.

I finished from a department in Abuja Building.

I guess you know the Abuja building?

My advice is that he should go for both. Nothing stop him from running those two simultaneously.

Bro this is Nigeria.

Education is important at least for future sake.

Money is important too.


Mind him, he is yet to succeed in his new found love (hustle)

He should succeed first, before thinking of quitting. That's a smart move.

He should never put his egg in a basket.


Let me share a story,

There was a time my business was so down due to unforeseen issues, I dusted my certificate to get a new role in a company, my skills paved the way, till I was back to life.

Now I'm getting offers almost everyweek with better pay.

What if I don't have cert? I'd have go on to look for a security job. Lols


See, having both (cert + hustle) is good.

Just go in, click on the links to other's gig and then favourite them. While there, you should also add other gigs by that seller to your favourite. Others will do the same for you as well.

If you're on Fiverr but not comfortable with posting your gig there, you can also help some brothers/sisters out by adding the gigs to your favourite.

Remember, the content of the thread will be eventually deleted, so don't quote anyone, just post a link to your gig.

I have a suggestion for sellers struggling with sales on Fiverr due to the platform pushing their gigs to the backpage in searches. It is often suggested the platform's algorithm favours people with high number of gig favourite.

I am thinking of creating a thread where you can post a link to your gig and every other seller clicks on it and add it to gig favourite.

The thread will be up for few hours after which the content will be deleted.

But, If your offer sucks, no one will buy.

You'd end up wasting your effort.

The reason why, as a #copywriter, I'd first look at your offer before creating a copy.

I'd know if such an offer is weak or strong enough to convert better.

The truth is, people are naturally lazy and care about themselves.

They want a good offer at a lower price.

You should focus your offers on the desire of your audience.

Did you know you could charge a $1k for a session and still make it look like it's very cheap?

Yes!

When writing a copy, always offer your audience what they can't resist.

How To Become Great At Copywriting

Think about this...

You don't even need to be a "writer" to make this work.

You might be surprised to know - some of the best copywriter such as "Gary Halbert" have no formal writing training at all!

If you're thinking you need to be a fancy "word-smith" to be a copywriter.

You're wrong.

Copywriting isn’t about big words, flowery sentences. It’s about being clear, succinct and above all, persuasive.

Most people think that to be a successful writer you need to be born creative and know all the rules of English grammar, usage etc.

Bullshit!

You see, in this industry, the more "conversationally" and "simply" you write...the more successful you'll be.

In fact, spouting high-fangled words or complicated prose will only "weaken your copy"…

There's something we copywriters call the 'Barstool Test'...

Here's how it works***

Imagine you're sitting in a bar with your best friend, telling him all about this wonderful new job you just got.

Would you use complex sentences here? Witty little jokes or metaphors? Would you slip in any long, twisting words?

Of course not!

You'd explain, as best as you can, in the simplest words that just roll off your tongue, why you're so excited about this job.

I have a girlfriend we have dated for a year now, we do have sex but one-day she start misbehaving and refuse to give me sex.
I tried to find out what could be the problem and she said she is having a bad condition as for the moment, okay I tried to have patience with her and do anything possible to make her feel alright.

she complained about my performance because that's not really me when ever we have sex.
I have tried to ask myself what the problem could be but I don't know what to do.

I've made more money there than he could ever dream of. I only corrected him as his response to the client was rude... Clients love being worshipped, and I'm afraid he lost that chance with the client.

Just think of upwork as a business. I mean think of it as a shop you pay yearly for, buy fuel to run business etc. Spend money and buy connects yes. It may sound frustrating that you are not getting any job. When I started I almost lost hope but vowed to continue buying connects. Now I have over $4k within the month of May and june and now I don't accept work less than 150$ USD depending on the hour of job.

If you are still following drop comments if not, I may have to drop this and focus more on my jobs..
