Unfortunately, majority of the airlines (to Lagos) with reasonable prices (less than AUD3200) allow just 1 luggage. To my ogas who travel to Naija frequently, abeg how una dey deal with this mata. As a father of many kids, looool, 1 checked-in luggage no fit do at all oo smiley

I can see oga bellong in the house. Sir, please do u have any response to my question at laminaria?
Congrats on your visa sis, I happy for u well well. See below for a response to your question;

''Depending on the student’s circumstances, OSHC that starts up to a month before their course commences could be purchased. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure they don’t enter Australia before their OSHC begins.'' (copied from International Education website).

So basically, you can make an adjustment to your OSHC (at a cost, I believe) by contacting your insurance provider or your institution - if you arranged yours through them.

hi, I'm still an applicant like u so I might be wrong. but from what I've gathered and learnt from this thread, there are other ways to beat GTE without a job offer. infact it's better to be honest about it than to fabricate something and they verify and find out. you can beat GTE by being convincing in ur SOP. make sure u properly link ur course with ur academic n work history and also ur future career plans in NIGERIA. if u are SVP, it also reduces d amt of evidence u will need to show. however, if u have d money then feel free to buy d land if u must, I guess that can also serve as home tie.
I now handover to Oga lawland, n Futuredon to lay emphasis.
October of numerous grants for us all.
Very well said boss. I fall for you pieces. Graham355 : just write a convincing and believable SoP. No be all of us get job offers back home. Best of wishes bro.

To those that will contact me regarding SoP review, please do not forget to say ''thank you''. As a Yoruba boy, I attach so much importance to those two words. It's discouraging to know that some people won't even acknowledge receipt talk less of saying ''thank you'', who does that?

Happy Independence in advance to gurus in the house...Please guys is it possible for second class lower(GPA 318) to get admission to undertake Masters precisely International Relations?
And is it must for one to take English tests like ILETS/TOEFL before applying?
Brilliant fellas please help out...
Yes, it is very possible to gain a MSc admission with your GPA.
As for English test, it depends on the Uni you are applying into. Majority of them will waive it for you.

hello Everyone in the house,........ many australians have started to migrate to new zealand. read the link for more details. i just decided to share this
It's of no use here bro. This thread is all about migrating to Australia and not the other way round. Perhaps, it would be of benefit to people on the NZ thread. Cheers.

@bellong and laminaria, thanks for your inputs, I think I'll just include the current data page and add d certified copy of the old passport for reference (cos the old passport was what I used for IELTS and admission processing)
If possible, try to use the new passport to obtain your eCoE and inform your educational provider about the change - they will update it on their system. Just like you, my IELTS result carries my old passport information but I eventually got my visa on a renewed passport, without submitting a copy of the old passport.

awe2015, bellong has said it all. Good luck!

@ chevchenko

This is a better website to look at; https://au.tlscontact.com/ng/LOS/page.php?pid=procedure

Before she proceed to submit her application for visa, she should try to do her medicals as this will likely speed up the visa application process. Here are some steps to follow for the medicals;

Go here: https://online.immi.gov.au/account/register
1. Create an ImmiAccount.
2. Complete all the required questions asked.
3. Generate your HAP ID.
4. Have your HAP ID handy and Call Fatayi Williams Clinic (if you are in Gidi) to book an appointment with them.
5. Fatayi Williams will tell you how much it will cost you.
6. You'll do your medicals at Fatayi - they will give you directions on how to complete your radiology checks.

That is just the reason, "You Stated that you will be re-hired by your current employer when you return, but no evidence to this and your employment cannot be verified" no 1 was called and I wasn't even called. So my brother, y won't I leave them? She even stated that my Family ties and so on shows that I will return to Nigeria after my studies and but she wasn't sure of this, she was contradicting herself. This is to show that they refuses ppl Visas base on personal reasons. It's so crazy menh.
Oh mehn!! Sorry about the denial bro. I swear I would have guess that the bolded statement was the reason behind the denial if you hadn't stated it here. It just gets really complicated if one is claiming to be re-hired post-study. If one really wants to walk this route, concrete and easily verifiable evidence should be provided. For example, I reviewed a SoP and an employer's letter of a prospective visa applicant. On the SoP, the applicant stated that he will return to search for job post-study while the employer's letter reads that a job position awaits the applicant post-study. A mistake as this one can lead to an application being denied.

Again, sorry to hear about this. Good luck with whatever next step you plan to take.

Haha, nice one bro. Big congrats to you! I didn't know that the 6 & 8months of a thing is by choice - U be boss o. As for flights, have you looked on Qatar Airways website? They are known for cheaper flight fares with superb on-air experience, even better than Emirates (based on personal experience though). Try searching directly on their website and not through Wakanow.

Hi people I just received an email from pretoria asking for additional information. They want evidence of OSHC payment till 03/02/20. But it was stated on my eCoE that I ssubmitted that I am on OSHC with Allianz Global assistance till 30/12/2019
Please contact your scholarship provider to inform them of this development. Pretoria's email only indicate that they want to set your visa expiry date to 03/02/2020 - they are required to issue visa for a specific duration, usually more than 4.5yrs (need to check my visa to confirm this) if one is coming for some sort of research degree (MPhil/PhD I believe) irrespective of program's end date or time of return post-study. Your scholarship provider might ask you to cover the difference.

@futuredom thanks my oga....affordable or shared accommodation around margaret Brisbane city...jobs prospects and all.. I leant there are jobs availability in Brisbane pls put me thru.....
Bro, I will be frank with you - getting a part time or casual job as a student in Brisbane can be really tedious, this is not to discourage anyone looking at coming to Brisbane. You'll eventually get one though. I believe the best approach is to know the kind of job you want to do, find out if such jobs requires certificate training and complete the training without hesitation. You can start doing research on student jobs while you are still in Naija. I may not be the best to advise you on jobs though as my experience is somewhat limited.

If you are looking at a shared accommodation, gumtree is a good place to look at. Also when you arrive, you might meet fellow students who are looking to team-up to rent a place together. If you want an apartment or a house of your own, realestate.com.au is a good site to look at however renting directly from the real estate agents can be a pain in the neck as they usually ask for "100 points ID requirements" which most newly arrived students do not have.

When u decide to migrate to another country, it then means u have to drop some parts of your nigerianness and adapt to that ctry's culture and practises, that's if u really want to get anything out of dat ctry's system, if u aint ready to do those things, then return back home to naija and enjoy your culture more. No pun intended
You might want to improve your comprehension skills, shiooor! You both should continue being ignorant.

There is no country...u are to be here if u so much love Nigeria.
That's not surprising to read from someone who's still in Nigeria, no disrespect. Not all of us left Nigeria because we don't like our dear country. You'll appreciate your country (Nigeria) and your culture MORE when you spend a few months abroad.
