Thanks. I read something like a letter of exemption on health.gov.au.......any ideas?
That's true. An exemption letter would suffice in your case

''Will I be allowed to enter Australia, if I do not have a yellow fever vaccination certificate?

If you are arriving in Australia from a yellow fever declared country but do not hold a vaccination certificate you will still be permitted to enter Australia without one. On arrival in Australia, Department of Agriculture, Biosecurity officers will reinforce the seriousness of the disease to you and provide you with a Yellow Fever Action Card. The card provides instructions on what you should do if you develop any symptoms of yellow fever in the six-day period following your departure from a yellow fever declared country''

''If your health care practitioner is of the opinion that vaccination is contraindicated on medical grounds, they should supply you with a signed letter detailing the reasons why you should not be vaccinated.''

bossladyMo:
s it compulsory one takes the yellow fever vaccine, before getting the card...especially if one has been vaccinated in the past 2yrs and brings evidence?

Must the yellow fever vaccine be from ports health, or will any govt hospital certificate do?

The reason I ask is because the vaccine is contra-indicated for breastfeeding mothers.
Not compulsory, if you tender a proof at Port Health, you'll be issued a yellow fever card without having to take the vaccine again. I met a guy who was in this same situation (and got his card without vaccine) when I went to Port Health, however, I'm not sure how long ago he had been vaccinated.

Not sure if Govt. Hospitals issue the new card though....

Hehe equlibrium, abi nah.

To those confused about how much they can withdraw using their naija ATM cards - on several occasions, I have made cashout of A$1,000 in a single withdrawal without issues... With a Zenith Bank Mastercard usually at NAB and CommBank machines.

PLEASE future don,i havent done medical yet...AND i submitted my application since 20th November.I m still waiting for that, but nothing yet.

I have another issue bothering me...i submitted my student visa application together with the recommendation letter from my working place.unfortunately,i lost the job recently because of minor issue...my question is ...would that have any negative effect on my visa application?
You should be contacted this week hopefully for medical request - I assumed you applied for 574 or 573. You shouldn't be too worried if your resumption date is not around the corner.

As for the recommendation letter, you do not have any reason to be worried since you are applying for a student visa. I can bet my ATM card (with pin) grin that there wouldn't be any concern about it, again, assuming you applied under the SVP category.

Are there any students currently at Flinders or USQ? Please signify so that we can ask you questions.
To begin with, most of us tend to ignore long posts smiley

I would suggest that he retake PTE, that's one of the easiest standardized English exam anyone could write - based on my experience. Please do not signup for that 20-30wks English prep course, it's a complete waste of money and time for a Nigerian who has been using English language since Primary school. All he needs to do is get some free test materials online (using google) and take as many as possible prior to his test date.

I am happy to provide information about applying by yourselves, although much has been posted here already. You can peruse my previous posts. Unrealtedly, I do think that all Australian unis are good. I'm aware of the existence of university ranking, however, I do no think that Aussies place much emphasis on it. In sum, your brother should be able to attend any of the universities you have listed in your post. In my opinion, Flinders, USQ and ECU are all decent Unis. I would have advised otherwise if he's looking to do some research intensive programs.

Good day all,i have just submitted my student [573svp] visa application last week 20th November to be precise and got acknowledgement the same day....but i haven't received any information with regards to the progress of my visa application as of today..please how long does it take before a co/vo will be assigned to my application and subsequently make a contact with me?
They don't usually contact applicants unless they need more documentation - In my own case, I didn't receive any acknowledgement email but I was confident that they had received my application. So just dey pray make dem no contact you until 10 working days with your visa notification (I assumed you've completed your meds pre-submission). Good luck, eat well and sleep well grin

The lady told me it will clear in a week....though I was ofthe opinion that medicals take at least 3wks to clear...for migrant visas though.

So if he doesn't have any health problems, past and present, he might juat be in the same situation as me.
Spot on, my meds were referred when I applied (I posted it here also). I didn't even know until I contacted the embassy after my normal processing time elapsed. My professor was more worried that he contacted Pretoria on my behalf, and the guys at the embassy gave him a more specific response, imagine that!!!

I was surprised that my meds were referred despite having no meds history or hospitalisation history. I con dey fear maybe na the 'jedi' wey I drink for Shalaye shop cause am smiley

Good day all, thanks for the response i have received so far with regard to my previous question ....i would like the house to help me verify if anyone has been issued a visa under SVP without statement of account and sponsorship letter?
My agent has been pressurizing to bring one even when i have referred him to DIAC website where it stated that a student under SVP just needs to declare that he has the ability to take care of himself while in Australia without showing any documents attached. thanks for your anticipated reply

Many people, including myself, got our visas approved without a statement of account. It's either your provide your agent with what they want or just proceed and apply by yourself. Applying for an Australian student visa (SVP category) is one of the easiest thing to do. It's easier than some of the assignment you'll have to complete in the Uni when you arrive grin

Have you heard anyone been denied on the svp despite paying the school deposit? just out of curiosity
No I haven't. You'll be fine as long as you include all the required documents.

Thanks future don, wish I could go start tomorrow, but still have some ish. My employment letter only carries 75k which I think is d reason why I was denied u.s visiting. Do you think its advisable for me to still add proof of employment. Also can you send me the list of documents I need add to be certain about this visa dont want submission exceed this week. Thanks necessary advise from the house is welcome as I've gone too far to loose. Thanks im Advance
Since you are applying under the SVP category, it's not important to submit an employment letter. At the time I applied, I submitted the following:

Certified copies of the following: Passport, CoE, Admission & Scholarship offer letters, BSc and MSc certs, Age Declaration from NPC (as my birth cert is no where to be found), IELTS (it was a compulsory admission requirement for me).

1-page statement of purpose.

Note: I emailed my polio vaccination cert (PVC) to them after I had already applied. It's better to include it at the time of application if you've got it.
