Dont be confused. I would have suggested you finish with your M.Sc and then proceed to PhD. You may even be lucky to get scholarship if you work on journal publications. Keep moving up!
Great piece of advice, well done.

You know it takes a determined mind to pursue a PhD. Also, one shouldn't pursue a PhD because of how much some experienced professors earn (not usually much I guess) as it takes a lot of hard work to climb the ladder of academia. Unsurprisingly, some people will prefer going for another MSc instead of a doctoral degree.

Walker0809, go for the TAFE if that's what your heart desires. I believe the admission application process is similar to the process that landed you a MSc offer in Germany.

Stewee: Was in that school in 2008...
I dint say their academics suck but the way they taught and stuff sure sucks to me.
100L was enough eye opener for me.
Even in 2008, social life in that school was almost Zero.
The only way to ease out stress was through the Church...
Big props to all of you that went there.
You are joking right?

Perhaps you were dropped in 100 Level due to low GPA.

femoric9: ... I'm confused, I don't know if I should edit my application form online and change the CGPA i put there to d 3.0 on 4.0scale to boost my application and since I've not submitted d online application form ...
It depends on what the online application reads. On the one hand, some schools specifically ask for CGPA on a scale of 4 - in this case, I would suggest that you fill in the WES evaluated cgpa. On the other hand, I would fill in ''2.75 out of 5.0'' for Universities with specific instructions that int'l students (like you and I) shouldnt convert their grades to American scale.

VO: where are you going to?
me: i am going to the united state for my undergraduate studies
vo: which school?
me: tell him
Sorry to hear about your denial. Of what importance is it that you've refused to reveal the name of your school? I understand it's not an obligation, however it would be difficult to ascertain if you are not in possession of an I-20 issued by one of those bogus Universities. I wish you luck in your next step.

You guys are only confusing yourselves with your verbose comments.

VO - Did you take the TOEFL test?
Applicant - Yes
VO - Please pass your test score report
Applicant - Here ma'am. Although, it can't be viewed online at the moment due to Nigeria vs ETS match

I can bet my last kobo that those guys are aware of the issues we are currently having with the ETS.

@dnpasion

Based on Prof godG's ordeal, it is safe to assume that your result has been temporarily cancelled.

Anyone who needs help with SoP review (not drafting o) can shoot me a message. However, it has to be graduate SoP (i.e. MSc or PhD) as I have no experience in writing undergrad's statement.

I've been here for more than 1 year, I can't remember any instance of racial attack (either mild or brutal). I think it depends on one's perception. For instance, if you have a strong perception that Brits are racists, you would tend to refrain from cordially associating with them.

Many times, I tend to ''forget the colour'' of my skin cos I mostly find myself in white/brits dominated locations. So far, so good, the reception has been awesome. I've observed that some naija folks aint ready to mingle, na so so colony dem dey form, it is logical to assume that a brit (for example) might perceive such as racism? [s]Although some of their girls can be so booooring[/s]. Shout out to all Naija girls kiss I know say some crack-heads go still dey sha, so I aint saying racism doesn't exist here.

Ola one: Did you have to say this? Was it necessary? Maybe innocuous but also insensitive. Justwise is cool with this, I am sure. After all, it isn't a slur about his people, is it? He's probably waiting for Ola to say something in order to press his ban button angry
Now you are trying to tribalize it abi? Bros, there is nothing insensitive about that comment as you've claimed. Perhaps, you've been out of Nigeria for a very long time, na teasing remark wey people dey use wella, including Ibadan people.

As for the boredom, me sef experience am wella when I first got here, but I no gree for the thing. I think it also depends on how often one calls Nigeria. I would like to think that Lycamobile mobile is fair enough for those of us without major commitments that requires constant calling of Naija. Mr Ochukoccna, do you fall in this platoon? lol grin

Graviton: oh!, sorry

I'm actually in Owerri, I'm thinking of writing the exam in P.H.

A bird told me the speaking section entails been interviewed, how true is this?
Yes you are right, you get to talk to the examiner one-on-one unlike the TOEFL where you have speak to the computer. Moreover, the questions on speaking section are usually cheaper (that's if you don't have ''interviewphobia'', lol). For instance, you might be asked to talk about the favorite toy you had, why the toy was special to you e.t.c.

There is a plethora of practice questions on this website (ielts-exam.net). My Toefl scores expired few weeks ago and was compelled to take IELTS due to deadline constraints. With experience on taking both tests, I would say the IELTS is way easier than the TOEFL. Be sure to take many practice tests and you would be fine. I wish you luck!

To those looking to take an English test ONLY, you might want to consider taking IELTS-Academic instead. However, it is important to check with your prospective schools whether (or not) it is acceptable in lieu of TOEFL.

If this is completely accurate, then I really feel for guys who have already scheduled an appointment to take their test at First logic. It's even more disheartening that some folks are applying to schools with a deadline as early as December 15 sad

If you are yet to register or looking to reschedule, I suggest you go with Whizbro's advice. I can't imagine traveling as far as Ghana to take the infamous GRE. We need more prometric centers in Nigeria mehn!!

I'm surprised that prometric just found out, there has always been impersonation going on at that Oba Akran center lipsrsealed

Graviton: thanks, it listed the National hospital abuja as hospital avenue, zip code 900211.

On the other hand, Nigeria business directory listed it specifically as National hospital CBD, zip code 900001...I'm confused
If I were you, I would go with the postcode listed on the NPS website I gave earlier (due to its specificity). However, you'll also be able to receive your letter should you settle for the other general postcode you had stated.

Alternatively, immediately after you have been offered an admission, you can request that your I-20 be sent through courier by contacting the international students office (you may be charged a token for courier fees). It's usually the norm in most schools.

In addition to Walspring response. You can browse through this link (http://www.nigeriapostcodes.com/views/). You should be able to get what you need, although I doubt the effectiveness of post/zip codes in Nigeria.
