spearman: What an ignorant statement. 1963 referendum was never about Anioma joining East, rather it was for them to either remain as part of Western Nigeria or to form a new region called the Midwest. Azikiwe was even influential in ensuring that Midwest region was created. Even their first premier was Anioma Igbo. Ojukwu's army invaded Midwest en route to Lagos that was the capital of Nigeria because Enugu the capital of Biafra was under serious attack, so he attempted to take Gowon by surprise. The mission was even led by Banjo, a Yoruba man! Who said that Anioma people chop humans? Everyone knows the ritual capital of Nigeria where human heads and other body parts are sold for as low as 5000 naira and that's SW! |

DaveDGreat: It's either these guys saying that Tinubu developed Lagos are ignorant juveniles or paid goons who already know the truth but desperately want to decieve gullible Nigerians. Lagos was Nigeria's federal capital for donkey years before it was moved to Abuja and has since remained the economic, financial and infrastructure capital even before Tinubu emerged as governor in 1999. Even during the military era, Buba Marwa was regarded as the best military governor just because he was ruling a relatively more advanced state than his peers. Between 1999 and 2007, they can't point at any mega infrastructural or social amenities Tinubu built befiting the huge economy of the state. They keep attributing whatever success Fashola or Ambode had as Tinubu's which is quite ridiculous to say the least. Another foolish rhetoric his online urchins always make is that Tinubu made many guys simply because he has been planting his stooges in strategic places all over the state just to protect his interests, another selfish and wicked act that is affecting Lagos negatively being cunningly promoted as good deed. The truth they've refused to acknowledge is that were Tinubu to be the governor of any other state in the SW, he would have been as mediocre. Everyone with grey matter knows that Tinubu can't do anything significant in Aso rock and would probably be worse than Buhari. On the contrary, if there is any president that won't loot with impunity or allow his cabinet members to do so, that person is Peter Obi. If there is any presidential candidate who understands the challenges and economic problems bedeviling Nigeria and appears to have solutions albeit in theory, that person is Peter Obi. In a sane country where citizens are educated and have average IQ, there won't even be contest between these guys like Tambuwal, Tinubu, Wike, Anyim, or Saraki but this is Nigeria where ethnicity and religious considerations are the only yardstick for electing presidents. To me Peter Obi is Nigeria's last chance to save itself from imminent collapse and other Nigerians who understand the situation are also desperately praying for Obi to emerge. Lastly, please don't generalize these Tinubu online urchins with Yorubas because there are still many sane Yorubas who know the truth and are supporting Peter Obi with passion. In fact, these online hoodlums always want to make it a tribal issue since they understand their principal is no match against Peter Obi. He can't possibly become Nigeria's president based on Igbo or Southern votes alone, so we shouldn't alienate other Nigerians who are also needed to make this dream come true. 6 Likes |

spearman: Stop decieving yourself, Niger Delta contains Imo and Abia States including farther states like Edo and Cross River States, and can never stand as one nation for obvious reasons. For you to believe that Delta Igbos will rather go with Uhrobo, Ijaw and Itshekiri instead of fellow Igbos in SE shows how ignorant you are. As for ikwerre, they can be whoever they want or even go to hell, we Igbos don't give a damn about them. They're only using our identity to gain relevance in Rivers State and by the time we realign with our Obigbo, Egbema and other Igbos of Rivers State, the ikwerres will be left with their 2 & half local governments and that's when Ijaws will turn them to slaves. |

WhizdomXX: Peter Obi will definitely win 5 SE states, Delta and Abuja, he will also win Lagos if APC does not present a Yoruba man and others too. Now tell me the states Wike will win? If he can find it difficult winning Rivers State, then which other state can you argue with certainty? He can't even win neighboring Bayelsa because the Ijaws already hate him. Even if he uses Rivers State money to bribe his way in getting PDP ticket, he will end up disgracing both himself and the party on election day. |

Buckeyemedia1: You're too petty and tribalistic to reason rationally. Peter Obi will easily win block votes in SE, SS, Lagos and Abuja. The elite and business class who are influential will also count for him. Without a Yoruba man as APC flag bearer, Obi will also win SW. Then depending who he would be contesting against in APC, if it's not a Northerner, then who they use as vice president will count for Northern votes. I have enlightened you! |

Buckeyemedia1: To put the record straight so that ignorant ones won't be decieved about Igbo stand. I repeat, ikwerres are too insignificant to be noticed. Nobody knows them outside SE/SS and that's a fact. With just 3 local governments, they're a micro minority that is far smaller than Ijaws, Tivs, Ibibios and many others. Igbos are too liberal for their own good and that's why an insignificant micro minority of 3 local governments would be using us to gain relevance and we continue to allow it. 2 Likes |

Nigeria will really be a dull place without Igbos in it. Every news must mention Igbos or SE otherwise it won't sell. So Mazi Ohuabunwa who is obviously trying to spice up his CV is now considered a major contender just to pass a jaundiced narrative? Anyways Wike is only decieving himself, he has zero chance of winning the presidency. The worst thing pdp will do is to allow such person to be its flag bearer because he won't even be able to win any zone. Only Atiku or Obi has any significant chance of giving APC a run for their money, the rest i.e. Saraki, Tambuwal, Wike and Anyim will be easily defeated on election day. 127 Likes 13 Shares |

Do you know how difficult it is to for them too by virtue of sharing a state with other antagonistic groups? The same governor Okowa promoted the teaching of central Igbo in Anioma schools. If you're in Asaba, you have a feeling you're in Igboland but you don't feel same way in P.H because the ikwerres relate with you like enemy. Onitsha has already merged with Asaba and would have become one city if not the river Niger. When prominent Anioma people talk, do they distance themselves or do they show solidarity with the Igbo nation? Have you listened to people like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Chike Edozien, Pat Utomi, Ned Nwoko etc? Can you compare their body language with that of ikwerres who enjoy slandering and insulting anything that has to do with Igbo? You guys should think deeply and act wisely!!! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Smoke55: You're allowing emotional blackmail from enemies to influence your thinking. Who is forcefully attaching to who, are you for real? The governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa is the one identifying with the rest of Igbos so what's your point? Fulanis will tell you that their people in NW, NE and even Niger republic are one even when there is linguistic, sociocultural and habitat differences and you will gullibly agree with him. The yoruba man will tell you that kwara in northern Nigeria is part of them and people like Oyedepo are yorubas even when Fulanis have acculturated and now rule over them. Don't allow yourself to be brainwashed, there is nothing like forceful attachment when you identify with your brothers who already acknowledge you. There are many people contesting for PDP presidential ticket and the the incompetent governor of Abia State never mentioned anyone yet they keep mentioning Obi up and down. It shows that Peter Obi is there nightmare. Even Wike is now their new champion just because they see Obi as a threat to tinubu. It's because of their hate for PDP that is making them support Wike who has no base except money to throw around. Igbos don't like Wike. Ijaws don't like Wike. Hausas and Fulanis don't like Wike. Yorubas don't like Wike. So who is going to vote for wike that will make him win the election? You guys can continue decieving yourselves, it's a comic relief. 1 Like |

Two governors, Okowa and Wike typifies the relationship between Igbos of SE, Aniomas and Ikwerres. A typical ikwerre man sees Igbos of SE as an adversary at best or outright enemy. This world view didn't start today but has always been there. During the Biafran civil war, most ikwerres fought against Igbos, even Elechi Amadi was vociferous in his campaign against Igbos. When the war ended, the same ikwerres did not only connive with others to seize Igbo properties but even went as far as seizing lands belonging to natives around Igwurita simply because they evacuated as refugees to Igbo territories still under the control of Biafran forces. Now contrast that with happened in the Anioma axis. Not only did Anioma Igbos supply Igbos supply Biafra with some of its finest officers and soldiers but they stood with us despite not being under Biafra officially. They were massacred and humiliated all through the war but they remained unwavering! In contemporary times, while Delta State has about 4 or 5 distinct ethnicities, with non of them being in clear majority, the Anioma people didn't jettison their Igbo heritage just to be fully accepted by other Nigerians in their campaign of hate against Igbos. Majority of them wore it as a batch of honour. They developed a synergy with other Igbos of SE and that smart move resulted in an influx of Igbo investments that helped to propel Asaba forward despite antagonism by others who preferred Warri. Contrast that with Rivers State, while there is probably three major distinct ethnicities in terms of language i.e. Igboid, Ijoid and Ogonis. While the Ijoid areas stood firmly with ijaw tag, the ikwerres on the other hand selfishly and wickedly rallied other Igbo speaking tribes in enforcing Igbophobia in Rivers State. The areas that identify with their Igbo heritage were completely abandoned in the scheme of things eg Obigbo, Egbema etc. while ikwerre continue to cunningly control everything in terms of infrastructure and appointments. At the moment, it is working for them but like they say, change is the only constant thing and thus their domination of Rivers State would equally come to an end. I just hope the ikwerres would not need the help of Igbos someday in the future because if we the new generation of Igbos are documenting their attrocities then it means the grudges have come to stay. Unfortunately for them, they're just a tiny clan surrounded by aggressive Ijaws who are waiting for an opportunity to deal ruthlessly with them. Currently, Igbos seem to be favourable disposed to balkanization and same with Ijaws. If that eventually comes to pass in the future, what would be the fate of ikwerres, considering they would be fully surrounded by hostile neigbours? Okowa's brotherhood with fellow Igbos of SE has entrenched my believe that our faith and collective interest is tied together with Anioma Igbos. It has also shown that Igbos should do everything possible to cutoff any relationship with ikwerre people, those guys are our worst enemies! 18 Likes 4 Shares |

Donpenny: Your tears are so delicious But unfortunately for you, there is nothing you can do about it! Out of hate and wickedness against Anioma Igbos, you minorities from the creek side refused to develop Asaba. You choose to build amenities in Warri and even rural areas while Asaba was neglected. If not for Igbo investments, Asaba would have been a glorified town! The same Anioma Igbos have been advocating for their own state since ages now. Dividing Delta State would even be to their advantage so they can develop faster while you guys kill yourselves over who owns what land in your swampy areas. 1 Like |

Okowa is a great man with wisdom! My respect for him just tripled. He is seeing the bigger picture in all these and wants to handle the situation with care. I just pray that Asaba would remain peaceful and for peace to return to SE. However, this press release is a dagger to the hearts of Igbo haters who would have wanted him to insult Igbos and distance himself and his people with whatever is happening in the SE. Okowa's brotherhood with fellow Igbos of SE has entrenched my believe that our faith and collective interest is tied together. It has also shown that Igbos should do everything possible to cutoff any relationship with ikwerre people, those guys are our worst enemies! 1 Like |
