1. Anioma recorded the highest percentage of YES Votes 97% in the 1963 Midwest Referendum having rejected a choice of joining Eastern Nigeria.

2. Ojukwu invaded the Midwest with the full powers of a war dictator but even he had the good sence to leave Anioma out of the Midwest. When he finally annoced the shorth live Republic of Benin, he left Anioma in the Midwest.

3. Anioma people no dey chop human beings.

What an ignorant statement. 1963 referendum was never about Anioma joining East, rather it was for them to either remain as part of Western Nigeria or to form a new region called the Midwest. Azikiwe was even influential in ensuring that Midwest region was created. Even their first premier was Anioma Igbo.

Ojukwu's army invaded Midwest en route to Lagos that was the capital of Nigeria because Enugu the capital of Biafra was under serious attack, so he attempted to take Gowon by surprise. The mission was even led by Banjo, a Yoruba man!

Who said that Anioma people chop humans? Everyone knows the ritual capital of Nigeria where human heads and other body parts are sold for as low as 5000 naira and that's SW!

DaveDGreat:

cheesy

These lies you Yoruba people keep spewing on social media is laughable. I should have passed on but for the sake of guests and maybe foreigners who might visit this site, I had to make an input.

As per the first bolded - You lots make it seem Lagos was an undeveloped backwater state before Tinubu came onboard. You also make it look like the past and present administrations did not do anything in Lagos. One may be left to wonder if Tinubu that was the progenitor and founding father of Lagos with all these your narratives.

See, any one can perform well in Lagos given the strategic position of Lagos and the state being an economic hub. Lagos has many multi-nationals and has a high IGR. Have you wondered why Lagos' budget always runs into billions. Anyone can perform well in Lagos, even a dunce.

As per the second bolded - No Igbo person hates Tinubu rather, we are here to expose the hypocrisy of you and your people. You would recall that pre and post 2015, you, Tinubu and your other kinsmen called us "children of hate and perdition", "5%ers", et al. just because we didn't support the candidate Tinubu brought out. Your Tinubu betrayed the South for his personal gains. Coincidentally, none of you are saying anything about that. Tinubu broke the law by having stakes in Alpha Beta Company but none of you are saying anything about it.

Lastly, they're many Igbos doing exceeding well in many parts of the country than Lagos. If all the in Nigeria "rush" to Lagos, the city won't be enough to contain us and you. So you can see your hypocrisy and lies? Do you know how many Igbos are doing good as business men in Onitsha, Jos, Kano and the rest?

Learn to put up logical arguments and leave sentiments out of it.

It's either these guys saying that Tinubu developed Lagos are ignorant juveniles or paid goons who already know the truth but desperately want to decieve gullible Nigerians. Lagos was Nigeria's federal capital for donkey years before it was moved to Abuja and has since remained the economic, financial and infrastructure capital even before Tinubu emerged as governor in 1999.

Even during the military era, Buba Marwa was regarded as the best military governor just because he was ruling a relatively more advanced state than his peers. Between 1999 and 2007, they can't point at any mega infrastructural or social amenities Tinubu built befiting the huge economy of the state. They keep attributing whatever success Fashola or Ambode had as Tinubu's which is quite ridiculous to say the least. Another foolish rhetoric his online urchins always make is that Tinubu made many guys simply because he has been planting his stooges in strategic places all over the state just to protect his interests, another selfish and wicked act that is affecting Lagos negatively being cunningly promoted as good deed.

The truth they've refused to acknowledge is that were Tinubu to be the governor of any other state in the SW, he would have been as mediocre.

Everyone with grey matter knows that Tinubu can't do anything significant in Aso rock and would probably be worse than Buhari. On the contrary, if there is any president that won't loot with impunity or allow his cabinet members to do so, that person is Peter Obi. If there is any presidential candidate who understands the challenges and economic problems bedeviling Nigeria and appears to have solutions albeit in theory, that person is Peter Obi.

In a sane country where citizens are educated and have average IQ, there won't even be contest between these guys like Tambuwal, Tinubu, Wike, Anyim, or Saraki but this is Nigeria where ethnicity and religious considerations are the only yardstick for electing presidents. To me Peter Obi is Nigeria's last chance to save itself from imminent collapse and other Nigerians who understand the situation are also desperately praying for Obi to emerge.

Lastly, please don't generalize these Tinubu online urchins with Yorubas because there are still many sane Yorubas who know the truth and are supporting Peter Obi with passion. In fact, these online hoodlums always want to make it a tribal issue since they understand their principal is no match against Peter Obi. He can't possibly become Nigeria's president based on Igbo or Southern votes alone, so we shouldn't alienate other Nigerians who are also needed to make this dream come true.

The UN says their must be be NO DISPUTES, AMBIGUITIES & COUNTERCLAIMS about territories being incorporated into new nations. That is the very reason we say the idea of any inch of the Niger Delta being inside Biafra is ZERO. Only nairaland children hallucinate about Delta Igbo.

Stop decieving yourself, Niger Delta contains Imo and Abia States including farther states like Edo and Cross River States, and can never stand as one nation for obvious reasons.

For you to believe that Delta Igbos will rather go with Uhrobo, Ijaw and Itshekiri instead of fellow Igbos in SE shows how ignorant you are.

As for ikwerre, they can be whoever they want or even go to hell, we Igbos don't give a damn about them. They're only using our identity to gain relevance in Rivers State and by the time we realign with our Obigbo, Egbema and other Igbos of Rivers State, the ikwerres will be left with their 2 & half local governments and that's when Ijaws will turn them to slaves.

Peter Obi will definitely win 5 SE states, Delta and Abuja, he will also win Lagos if APC does not present a Yoruba man and others too.

Now tell me the states Wike will win? If he can find it difficult winning Rivers State, then which other state can you argue with certainty? He can't even win neighboring Bayelsa because the Ijaws already hate him.

Even if he uses Rivers State money to bribe his way in getting PDP ticket, he will end up disgracing both himself and the party on election day.

You're too petty and tribalistic to reason rationally. Peter Obi will easily win block votes in SE, SS, Lagos and Abuja. The elite and business class who are influential will also count for him. Without a Yoruba man as APC flag bearer, Obi will also win SW. Then depending who he would be contesting against in APC, if it's not a Northerner, then who they use as vice president will count for Northern votes.

Igbos are too liberal for their own good and that's why an insignificant micro minority of 3 local governments would be using us to gain relevance and we continue to allow it.

Anyways Wike is only decieving himself, he has zero chance of winning the presidency. The worst thing pdp will do is to allow such person to be its flag bearer because he won't even be able to win any zone.

Only Atiku or Obi has any significant chance of giving APC a run for their money, the rest i.e. Saraki, Tambuwal, Wike and Anyim will be easily defeated on election day.

[s]Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Rivers State governor, NyesomWike has told leaders and delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State to trust him as the only presidential aspirant who has the capacity to defend the interest of Ndi Igbo.

Governor Wike, who is also a presidential aspirant of the PDP met with the leaders and delegates of the party at Abia State Government House, in Umuahia on Friday to solicit support ahead of the party's presidential primary this month.

The Rivers State governor stated that he would not be that kind of a leader who would be lost on the opportunity in public service to address social injustice and other forms of unfair treatment that people suffer in Nigeria.

Governor Wike reiterated his belief in the restructuring of Nigeria and is determined to be the first to start the process to strengthen the sense of belonging among Nigerians.

"I say so with all amount of seriousness and I challenge anybody who is from the Southern part of Nigeria; who is from South-South, who is from South-East to say so boldly too. Check all of us, look and determine who can even defend the interest of Ndi Igbo better than me?

"It is not merely to talk. I mean who has the mind. Who has the courage. I have the mind and I have the courage. I will make sure the injustice in this country is being solved.

"Ask them, when they were in power, what did they do? How many of them have spoken out? Look, don't waste your votes on such people."

Governor Wike observed that things have fallen apart in the country because those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who control the Federal Government lack such capacity.

The governor said he is prepared to effectively and productively take drastic decisions and do so courageously in order to promote national good.

Governor Wike assured that in solving Nigeria's numerous problems, he would also provide requisite logistics, and other support to the security agencies to enable them curb insurgency and activities of bandits within a given timeline.

"That is what leadership is all about. You must be courageous to take decisions people are thinking that is impossible. Inability to take decisions, that is our problem in this country.

"But I will take those decisions that people are running away from. I will take it."

On his part, governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu , who had earlier hosted governor Wike on a courtesy visit, said they have found in the presidential aspirant a leader who is consistent, with a character and trust worthy.

Dr. Ikpeazu said Nigeria is in a precarious situation with a bleak future and requires governor Wike to forge national unity,  rescue the country and stabilise socioeconomic development.

Two governors, Okowa and Wike typifies the relationship between Igbos of SE, Aniomas and Ikwerres. A typical ikwerre man sees Igbos of SE as an adversary at best or outright enemy. This world view didn't start today but has always been there. During the Biafran civil war, most ikwerres fought against Igbos, even Elechi Amadi was vociferous in his campaign against Igbos. When the war ended, the same ikwerres did not only connive with others to seize Igbo properties but even went as far as seizing lands belonging to natives around Igwurita simply because they evacuated as refugees to Igbo territories still under the control of Biafran forces.

Now contrast that with happened in the Anioma axis. Not only did Anioma Igbos supply Igbos supply Biafra with some of its finest officers and soldiers but they stood with us despite not being under Biafra officially. They were massacred and humiliated all through the war but they remained unwavering!

In contemporary times, while Delta State has about 4 or 5 distinct ethnicities, with non of them being in clear majority, the Anioma people didn't jettison their Igbo heritage just to be fully accepted by other Nigerians in their campaign of hate against Igbos. Majority of them wore it as a batch of honour. They developed a synergy with other Igbos of SE and that smart move resulted in an influx of Igbo investments that helped to propel Asaba forward despite antagonism by others who preferred Warri.

Contrast that with Rivers State, while there is probably three major distinct ethnicities in terms of language i.e. Igboid, Ijoid and Ogonis. While the Ijoid areas stood firmly with ijaw tag, the ikwerres on the other hand selfishly and wickedly rallied other Igbo speaking tribes in enforcing Igbophobia in Rivers State. The areas that identify with their Igbo heritage were completely abandoned in the scheme of things eg Obigbo, Egbema etc. while ikwerre continue to cunningly control everything in terms of infrastructure and appointments. At the moment, it is working for them but like they say, change is the only constant thing and thus their domination of Rivers State would equally come to an end. I just hope the ikwerres would not need the help of Igbos someday in the future because if we the new generation of Igbos are documenting their attrocities then it means the grudges have come to stay. Unfortunately for them, they're just a tiny clan surrounded by aggressive Ijaws who are waiting for an opportunity to deal ruthlessly with them. Currently, Igbos seem to be favourable disposed to balkanization and same with Ijaws. If that eventually comes to pass in the future, what would be the fate of ikwerres, considering they would be fully surrounded by hostile neigbours?

Okowa's brotherhood with fellow Igbos of SE has entrenched my believe that our faith and collective interest is tied together with Anioma Igbos. It has also shown that Igbos should do everything possible to cutoff any relationship with ikwerre people, those guys are our worst enemies!

However, this press release is a dagger to the hearts of Igbo haters who would have wanted him to insult Igbos and distance himself and his people with whatever is happening in the SE.

Politics / Re: The Nigerian First Borns Have Spoken “we Don’t Support Zoning” Shehu Sani by Galaxyowerri(m): 10:13am On May 20, 2022
Cassahav:
A northern group, Arewa Transformational Leaders, has kicked against zoning of presidential tickets by major political parties to any region.

National Chairman of the group, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim, told journalists at the end of their meeting in Abuja, that the loud conversation for zoning of the presidency in 2023 should not be at the centre of conversation.

Meanwhile, as the debate on zoning of the 2023 presidency rages, human rights activist, Senator Shehu Sani has declared that northern politicians were not ready to cede power to the south.

He said politicians cannot continue to accept the principle of federal character and at the same time kick against zoning.

“APC is playing cat and mouse game with PDP. If the opposition fields a northern candidate, APC will field a northerner. This is because of the belief that the poorest of the poor in the north vote according the dictates of their leaders. That is the sentiment. The unity in the north is not in the south. The North-East, North-West and North-Central will vote for a northern candidate, but it is not so in the south. APC is afraid of zoning their ticket to the south because if they do so, and a northerner emerges PDP flag bearer, the ruling party may lose the presidential election,” Sani said.

He said if the opposition party was really desirous of taking over power, it should avoid internal bickering and unite as a force, take advantage of the appalling situation in the country to articulate its points. “For PDP, whoever emerges, after the presidential primary, the party has a duty to rally round him to rescue this country.”

Don't blame the North, all blame goes to the greedy scratch-faced people who want to take the right of others in the South.

The saying that he who must come to equity must come with clean hands is alien to them!

I support the North to contest and for them to continue ruling than for it to go to the greedy SW.

If these greedy people had supported Igbos unanimously instead of stupidly campaigning for a criminal who pee and poo on himself just because of tribalism, the North wouldn't have contemplated on succeeding themselves in power!

It's hypocrisy of the most disgusting form to ask Northerners not to contest yet those that have ruled as much as them are desperately trying to take over. You think Northerners are fools??!!

Nairalanders here, especially the yorubas claim that south west and yorubaland have enough oil more than igbo lands. So i want to know if igbos in Rivers and Delta are outsiders unlike yorubas in kwara and kogi who are considered as real yorubas.

Extremely low IQ, illiteracy and hypocrisy has reduced them to the level of unthinking subhumans.

The same bastard that will claim that Fulanis in NW, NE and even Niger republic are all Fulanis will fight you and call you names for saying that Igbos in Delta or Rivers are Igbos, even when they share everything in common 100%!!

The same cretin will tell you that Oyedepo from Kwara is a yoruba man even when Kwara is in Northern Nigeria but will call you a land grabber for saying that an Egbema man in Imo State whose village was divided into two and one part carved into Rivers State are no longer the same people!!

This country is filled with despicable human beings!!!
