IAMBlesssed:Honestly, I always laugh my head off at the crass ignorance the average skull miner exhibits here. These primitive lots due to lack of awareness and travel, actually believe that life starts and ends in Lagos. Lol, they fail to understand that Igbos are like the Jews and the Lebanese who are all over the world making exploits but never forgetting their homeland!! Igbos may be in Lagos, Abuja, P.h and elsewhere across Nigeria, but they are also in large numbers across SSA, Asia, Europe, America etc. An Igbo adage says that "onye ije ka onye isI awo nma" "a traveler is better than an old person who stayed at a spot all his life". What these envious afonjas are displaying here is nothing but unbridled envy!! There type are those that hate on successful people and call them ritualist, drug pushers or Yahoo guys just to feel good and accept their worthlessness. I have been to several cities, towns and villages in the SW, and the kind of old and decayed mud houses these people live in always shocks me to the bone marrow. If only they could come to the East and see the type of houses Igbos live in, both in the cities, towns and villages, they would instantly feel sorry for themselves. I am in Owerri, and the type of houses I see springing up in the suburbs always me wonder if Igbos are immune to the poverty currently ravaging Nigeria. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Oh my God, this is so outrageous to say the least. The picture speaks volumes indeed!! For any discerning mind with at least an average IQ, you will know that this is a classic master-servant scenario. For the old Malam who may even be semi literate and completely ignorant of fiscal due process to be sitting like a Capon/drug lord of a cartel while the head of the Central Bank of a country, a sensitive position in charge of all monetary transactions, stoops so low with a meek, subservient and absolutely loyal demeanor, and calmly taking instructions from him shows how bastardized and hopeless Nigeria is. This is the kind of sh!t that happens in banana republics or countries ruled by despots like we had during Idi Amin's Uganda, Abacha's Nigeria, Hugo Chavez's Venezuela etc. Any Nigerian who doesn't see anything wrong with this picture is an irredeemable bastard, whether they are paid zombie or not!! Even if that old Malam in that picture orders that apology of a CBN Governor to wire $1 million to his account, do you think that servant I'm seeing in that picture will object?? Little wonder why this country has gone to the dogs and has become the world's poverty capital. A return of this ridiculous government of re.tards will see people scavenging from the dustbin in order to find what to eat while insecurity will be worst ever in history! I'm not a prophet but the signs of the coming disaster should buhari/Jubril return is very clear on the wall. 1 Like 2 Shares |

The NA continues to wait in their camps as sitting ducks while the boko Haram continues to attack and decimate them on a weekly basis. What happened to all the billions budgeted for the fight against boko Haram?? What happened to the so called jets they are supposed to have bought from Pakistan?? While don't they go on a steady surveillance and be proactive to ensure they always rout boko Haram before they could do any damage?? What's the need of soldiers even remaining there since they have become target practice to boko Haram?? Can they ever win this war even in 20 years time if they continue at this pace?? Princedapace:You are not alone bro, I already have a land in Owerri, but it is situated in a students environment so I'm mapping it out for a hostel structure while I'll buy another one around Spibat where I'll build a duplex once I have the cash. I enjoy living in Owerri, I relocated from Lagos in 2013 when I became fed-up with that urban jungle, after an earlier brief stay in Abuja after my NYSC. I can only leave the city if I'm migrating from Nigeria to stay abroad. The other alternative would have been Abuja but the rent there is crazy. 1 Like 1 Share |

Princedapace:The only city in Nigeria without the menace of bikes and Keke napep!! Also, what helps Owerri in being an orderly and beautiful place is the fact that the city and adjoining suburbs has a very high number of educated people, intellectuals, and a relatively large presence of people who have lived abroad but now resides in the city. Almost every Igbo man who has stayed abroad but wants to come back home always liked to stay in Owerri or Enugu so all these has contributed to make the citizens very critical and relatively exposed. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Incredibleme:You are right, Owerri is more aesthetically appealing than P.Harcourt and Lagos, and is only second to Abuja. I guess I was mixing it up because those two other cities are traditionally regarded as Nigeria's pioneer cities along with Abuja. However, P.harcourt is really underperforming seriously, and I don't know if it was the effect of the abandoned property saga that made mainland Igbos to look away from the city which resulted in its stunted growth. P.H was miles ahead of any other city in Igboland as at 1950's to 70's when it was famously known as the garden city but Owerri, Enugu and Onitsha have all caught up with it considerably and this is despite the fact of it being the oil capital of Nigeria. If P.H has been growing optimally, it should have been a lot more developed than it is already. If Owerri has the sort of money that P.H has, it certainly would have been rivaling Abuja by now. Abandoned property saga did a lot of damage to P.H because the large middle class and rich Igbos would rather invest in Owerri, Enugu or even Lagos and Abuja than in P.H. 1 Like 1 Share |

GenOrumov:Yes, you may not be absolutely wrong but you are largely wrong. You are trying to give logical reasons why Nigeria is still a sh!thole donkey years after, while most others have left us behind. The point you failed to grasp is that Nigeria has remained stagnant in many areas while others kept developing and I will give you instances. 1. That Kano primary school picture shown there, several decades ago is better than 70% of public primary schools today in both Kano and across Nigeria!! 2. China, India, S.Korea and the Asian Tigers were largely at the same level with us back then but today, S.Korea has become a first world country and the other countries have all developed and almost closed the gap completely between them and the Europeans that had a headstart. 3. It is not about who started first rather it is about who maintained a steady growth and development over the years. That is why despite the fact that Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Ethiopia and Italy who were once technologically advanced are no where today. 4. If these pictures were taken with the advanced camera we have today, complete with HD colors and high pixels, you will be shocked to discover that there is very little difference between then and now except that population has ballooned. Which means that 50 years from now may not look much different from what currently obtains in Nigeria but believe me, other countries would have become light years ahead of us!! 5. Do you even know that Lagos of 1970 is almost the same with the Lagos of 2018, almost 50 years later!!! 6. These pictures has overwhelmed me, and it shows how much we have sunk against time. Do you even know that there groundnut pyramids in the North, Cocoa, Palm products etc of which we were topping global production in the past?? 7. Did you even know that trains, postal service, ferries etc were functional back in the 1960's?? Did you even know that there were far lesser number of poor people in Nigeria in terms of percentage in the 1960's and 70's than today?? Did you even know that graduate unemployment was non existent in the 1970's?? Now some do argue that population was smaller then but that is not an excuse because as our population is growing, so should our economy and if China and India with over a billion people apiece are not having massive unemployment then why should we with less than 200 million people?? At the rate we are going, a time will come when graduates will be doing menial jobs just to earn peanuts!! 8. Maybe you are right about the black man being cursed because I can't see any explanation why we like suffering and going in circles when we know what to do to change our situation!! 9. Let every state or region manage its own resources and grow at their pace which will engender patriotism and healthy rivalry for development or break up this country to more manageable units rather this archaic system we are running that keeps everyone perpetually down. 10. The truth is that we are doomed if we fail to act fast because all these tribalism we are currently facing will get worse because they are actually caused by mass frustration and hysteria, and we will end up killing ourselves in the future if things continue to deteriorate like this in Nigeria!! 4 Likes 3 Shares |

I'm not in support of fraud, but if I'm to be the judge here, I will give the least acceptable sentence because he wasn't trying to defraud individuals who could easily commit suicide but big overseas companies that can only shrug off the loss and move on. There are many Russians, Indians etc who are even more into these sort of fraud than Nigerians. A good lawyer should be able to get him free from the allegations because merely having the documents in his computer doesn't prove anything since he could claim to have bought it second hand and never knew it had such contents inside it. |

PS712:How is that so, I mean how can you have such optimism after seeing everything that is going on?? The truth is that going by what is happening in the NE, this boko Haram crises will never end, and I will give you reasons. Some members of the elite including the military hierarchy are feeding fat from the crises. This is why the soldiers are always being sabotaged every now and then and the tactical arming of boko Haram each time the NA abandons their equipment. Also, each time the government pays them ransom for kidnapped victims they become more fortified to buy more sophisticated arms and also to pay their fighters. Lastly, with the biting poverty and mass illiteracy in that region, they will always have a large pool of locals to recruit. 56 Likes 4 Shares |
Politics / Re: Which Zone In Nigeria Is The Most Developed? by Galaxyowerri(m): 3:31pm On Dec 16, 2018 |
It's a close call between SE and SS, for the top and second position. SW third, NC fourth and lastly NE (already a failed region in all ramifications). When you talk about development, it is all encompassing and includes the following: 1. Educational development 2. Infrastructure 3. GDP per capita 4. Human capital development 5. Access to healthcare 6. MDG attainments etc. In the light of the above, SE is the most educationally developed region followed by SS. Same in MDG attainments and others. However, the truth is that the system of government Nigeria is running keeps everyone down but if we are to go back to regionalism, it will become more glaring. On the whole, the South and to a lesser extent, the NC if not the insecurity in the region, has got huge potentials to grow massively. Let us go back to regionalism, the healthy competition will certainly spur growth. |
