seunmsg: I agree with you completely. This response from the presidency is too weak and watery. They should have just kept quiet if they know they have nothing meaningful to say. Transparency international did a better job of responding to Cameron's statement.
All in all, we should all support the president's war on corruption, that's the only way to correct the country's battered image globally. Our youths who support corrupt political leaders for political, ethnic and religious reasons should desist forthwith. What about the President having corrupt persons in his cabinet as super ministers or the President having highly corrupt persons as his supporters, do you think the British government is not aware of that, the President used stolen money to fund his campaign and the whole world is aware of that, Cameron is right in his statement, this has nothing to do with Nigerian youths, you use stolen money to fund your campaign and you come out to say you're fighting corruption, that means you are fantastically corrupt. The Presidency can not fool us with the weak response. And for your information what Nigerian youths what is fairness in the fight against corruption, not just a one sided fight, it either you persecute everybody that has stolen or you don't at all, a lot of corrupt government officials are still dinning with the President. |

Politics › Re: Blaming Fulani Herdsmen For Benue, Enugu Killings Absurd!!! Sultan Of Sokoto by gare(f): 8:06pm On May 01, 2016 |
CyberWolf: An organisation led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has described as “absurd” and “unfortunate” the widespread insinuation that Fulani herdsmen are responsible for the attacks on villagers in Benue, Enugu, Nasarawa and other parts of the country. The Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI, a coalition of several Islamic groups in Nigeria, stated this on Sunday. The Sultan is the head of the JNI. In the statement, signed by Khalid Aliyu, the organisation’s secretary-general, the JNI said it was shocked by the attacks. “Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) received with great shock and deep concern the news of incessant killings and maiming of innocent lives and the destruction of public and private properties. “Of particular concern are the brutal murders of people in Agatu-Benue state, Nnibo-Enugu state and some parts of Nasarawa state. “It is indeed alarming that within few weeks, deadly attacks were reportedly unleashed while the perpetrators go un-arrested. JNI therefore condemns in strong terms these repeated heinous attacks and once again calls on the relevant security agencies to brace up to the trends, in order to put a stop to this ugly tide, as human lives are sacred and must be seen to be treated as so,” the statement said. The JNI said the attacks were criminal in nature and should be treated as such. “The repeated heinous acts of attacks are crimes against the citizenry and the perpetrators are therefore criminals and must be treated so.” Foramfera It, however, said the attacks were not carried out by Fulani herdsmen. “It is indeed absurd and most unfortunate that certain groups or people ascribe the incidence on ethnic and/or religious premise and to whimsically apportion blame in order to batter the gradual restoration of peace and security in Nigeria,” it said. The JNI, which commiserated with the victims of the attack, also called for “concerted introspection and commitment by relevant agencies to take proactive and effective measures in addressing this pernicious problem.” Nigerians have condemned the attacks; and affected communities have blamed security agencies for not protecting them against their attackers who they said were herdsmen. Many Nigerians have also blamed President Muhammadu for not acting strongly enough to condemn the attacks and arrest the perpetrators. Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, who criticised the presidency’s response, stated that “I have yet to hear this government articulate a firm policy of non-tolerance for the serial massacres that have become the nation’s identification stamp.” The JNI, however, said the authorities have absolved the herdsmen, mainly of Fulani ethnicity, of involvement in the attacks. The JNI’s claim is contrary to that of a leader of the Fulani herdsmen who admitted to PREMIUM TIMES that they carried out the attack in Benue as a retaliation to the murder of some of their leaders “Well, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State has debunked the rumours, likewise the Inspector General of Police has also debunked the insinuations over those being blamed,” the JNI said. Read the JNI’s full statement below: PRESS RELEASE JAMA’ATU NASRIL ISLAM (JNI) CONDEMNS THE HEINOUS REPEATED ATTACKS IN NIGERIA AND CAUTIONS ON RUMOURS SPREADING Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) received with great shock and deep concern the news of incessant killings and maiming of innocent lives and the destruction of public and private properties. Of particular concern are the brutal murders of people in Agatu-Benue state, Nnibo-Enugu state and some parts of Nasarawa state. It is indeed alarming that within few weeks, deadly attacks were reportedly unleashed while the perpetrators go un-arrested. JNI therefore condemns in strong terms these repeated heinous attacks and once again calls on the relevant security agencies to brace up to the trends, in order to put a stop to this ugly tide, as human lives are sacred and must be seen to be treated as so. JNI and indeed all Nigerians, view the fall out of these repeated attacks, particularly the taking up of arms against other citizens as another trend of insecurity that portends grave danger to the Nation. We must not forget so soon the adverse effect of the so called Boko Haram group, that claimed the lives of many thousands innocent lives. Hundreds have been abducted, the males forced into insurgency and the females into slavery. Millions more are wallowing in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Nigeria and in Refugee Camps in neighbouring countries. Public and private properties worth trillions of Naira have been destroyed. We therefore call for a thorough investigation by appropriate agencies in order to fish out the evil perpetrators, bring them to justice and forestall re-occurrence. The repeated heinous acts of attacks are crimes against the citizenry and the perpetrators are therefore criminals and must be treated so. It is indeed absurd and most unfortunate that certain groups or people ascribe the incidence on ethnic and/or religious premise and to whimsically apportion blame in order to batter the gradual restoration of peace and security in Nigeria. Well, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State has debunked the rumours, likewise the Inspector General of Police has also debunked the insinuations over those being blamed. We must thus be cautious of packaging crimes on religious and ethnic garments. Crimes are abominable and whoever commits them is criminal. Security agencies should brace up in being proactive and utilize maximally intelligence reports in order to nip-in the board possible eruptions of security problems within and around communities. Painfully, His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, JNI, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, on behalf of Nigerian Muslims, condoles the families of those who lost their lives and sympathies with all affected victims, and also calls for concerted introspection and commitment by relevant agencies to take proactive and effective measures in addressing this pernicious problem. His Eminence the Sultan and President-General of JNI, extends profound condolences to the families of the affected victims, government and people of states that lost their loved ones in the unfortunate happenings. Celebrities › Re: Five Disappointing Blunders In Tiwa Savage’s Controversial Video – Ayo Alaba Ido by gare(f): 1:36pm On May 01, 2016 |
donephi: After the raging hullabaloo over TeeBillz’s bombshell, the superstar-brand-ambassador expectedly felt it was necessary to clear her part and protect her career in what could have been a major doom. It would be believed that she consulted her PR team for ‘professional’ advice on the best way to manage the looming crisis, and guess the ‘presumably brilliant piece’ they all came up with… a seemingly ‘staged’ video where she supposedly granted an interview with what was to be believed by fans and stakeholders as some off-the-cuff candor.
The interview was meant to be seen as being purely unprecedented with credit of hard-work given to the interviewer’s platform. Perhaps, many took it just as that… Whatever was said in the interview wouldn’t be so much of my concern, but taking the PR profession for granted and insulting the innocence of people and essence of the PR practice is what I might not be able to stomach in this situation.
Tiwa is no doubt a big brand in Africa’s entertainment scene, and whatever professional display done by her or her team may instantly become a model for others to follow. The video (or interview) was not just an error; it was a huge professional blunder capable of garnering adverse ripple effect that may be largely counter-productive for her career, and quite misleading for upcoming stars and PR professionals. Below are 5 blunders in the video.
Granting a Camera-Light-Action interview in a space of 24 hours Since when did we start granting a controlled video interview to ‘immediately’ respond to snowballing crisis in the entertainment scene in Nigeria? In this part of the world, everything under camera, light, and action is believed to be staged and obviously pre-arranged. I’m sure this is one of the reasons Charles Novia earlier called Tiwa a Beyonce-clone. Perhaps, Tiwa and her team failed to realize that it wouldn’t be easy to completely be a Beyonce clone in the Nigerian environment. Her PR team should have known better to simply set up a single camera video with a head-on shot somewhere in the corner of her room or her living room and give possible impression of staged drama a very wide berth. This is if at all a video is found necessary (oh! I understand her team really wanted to show the Nollywood sober mood in her costume with the repentant scarfing, and the largely exaggerated teary part with an obviously poor art director. If not, why a video?).
What!!! A 44-minute long video? (The shorter the merrier, my dear) If her PR team were qualified professionals, they should have known that too much talk was one of the biggest threats to crisis communication. In fact, I would have wondered why even a 5-minute long video if at all it must be a video! In a sane country with a sane system, her too much talk in the bid to further exonerate herself and make TeeBillz the bad guy has landed her career in a massive doom. To bring back TeeBillz’s drinking habit and the alleged cocaine use is a ground of mere unreasonableness. Are brands and fans meant to congratulate ‘you’ for condoning, conniving and colluding with a partner who had been on the illegal side of the law for many years? Not to even say that connivance and collusion is a crime on the part of the law within marital issues. Yes, TeeBillz was unreasonable and also guilty for bringing back Tiwa’s alleged affairs with the three music stars since the law suggests that once you had condoned the action, it should not form basis for any further allegation. But, what Tiwa’s PR team failed to realize was that TeeBillz wasn’t a brand ambassador. Now, our supposed brand ambassador is also known as someone who condoned, connived and colluded with an alleged cocaine addict. What a shame! Hopefully, TeeBillz will not charge her for maligning his character, and then a part of the career and emotional distraction begins. Hopefully again, she is still a responsible brand ambassador after covering one of the world’s biggest criminal acts. What an insensitive charlatans called professional PR team.
The Nollywood Costume Stunt If her PR team must create a Camera-Light-Action scene, why take away the Tiwa brand since we already know that the interview is a controlled one. The beginning of the failure of the video was the Nollywood’s repentant-born-again-Christian style. My conclusion was that the PR team had more of Nollywood movies than the real essence of PR practice.
The Artistic Tears If anyone wonders again why such long video, this part should be an obvious answer. Hey, if there was no such display of tears, how would the PR team succeed at bouncing the Tiwa brand back to dominate and have a controlling influence on people’s emotions? There was urgent need to create sympathy and leverage it to survive the lingering storm. But the tears rather came like they had been pre-planned, and there was either a written or unwritten script that suggested that “this must be done at so so line… we need you to break the tears; it’s the high point of the video.” Tiwa didn’t really need to break the tears, and if she must, silent tears would have been more penetrating than the loud and seemingly staged ones.
The Disappointing Interviewer If there must be a great staged play, the actors must be carefully selected! Kunle Afolayan is a great man to consult here… I wonder how the interviewer (Treating her as just an interviewer here) planned to substantiate the veracity of the video with her tacky and completely unprofessional display. She clearly showed how pre-ratified the interview questions were with her conservative and carefully selected conduct. It was really my first time of seeing such supposedly high profile interview with little or nothing coming from the interviewer; all her questions were clearly ratified and her spontaneity was complete zero… No expressions, no reactions, no further queries, nothing! That was very poor, my dear!!
While there could be more to say, I have decided to, as much as practicable, avoid talking about the family and whatever they could be pooling through; my concern is more about the increasing abuse of the practice of Public Relations that is even more rampant in the entertainment industry. I hope Tiwa’s supposed video rejoinder will not snowball into even bigger crisis for herself, her family and her career.
What a PR-damage-control stunt; probably the biggest PR goof of the decade.

hayzee545: The 19 Northern States Governors have risen to condemn those labeling perpetrators of crimes around the country as Fulani people.
The Governors reaction came on the heels of criticism of fulani herdsmen for recent attack in Agatu, Delta, and Enugu, where scores of people lost their lives and properties destroyed.
The 19 states governors who met behind closed doors said, as much as they condemn the recent attacks in Enugu and other parts of the country, they condemned labelling the criminals as Fulani people.
In a briefing with newsmen, shortly after the meeting at the Kaduna Government House Friday evening, Chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, said, it is an insult to label criminals as Fulani.
Shettima said “We want to unequivocally condemn the recent killings in Enugu and other parts of the country. But we equally condemn the politicisation or permit me, the ‘ethinicisation’ of the whole crisis. It goes beyond Fulani. If anything happens, they say Fulani herdsmen; to me it is an insult.
“Kidnapping in this country originated in the South-east, were they called Igbo kidnappers? We have a great national challenge and we want to call on all and sundry to come and let us solve our common challenges as a people. Because the blood of paternity that binds us together supersedes whatever differences that might divide us,” he stressed.
While he condemned the Agatu killings, the NSGF Chairman, charged the media to avoid sensationalism and harp on issues that bind the country Nigerians together.

ijaw1stson: – The PDP says it is gearing up towards revamping the party – Party members facing corruption charges will not allowed to contest – The party’s convention is coming up in May in Port Harcourt The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has banned its members facing corruption charges in various courts from contesting for positions in the National Working Committee of the party. The Party’s national convention is coming up in Port Harcourt in Rivers state in May 21 and this will provide an avenue for election of members into the working committee.
Some of the members of the party who have appeared in court and charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission include the former minister of interior, Comrade Abba Moro; Chief Olisa Metuh; the former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido; the former governor of Imo state Ikedi Ohakim; the chairman of Africa Independent Television, Chief Raymond Dokpesi and Haliru Bello Mohammed who is a former acting chairman of the PDP.
There are also some members of the party who have been accused by the EFCC but have not appeared in court yet. An official of the party who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the party was gearing towards repositioning it ahead of the 2019 general election and was looking for candidates with integrity to fill positions.
He said this was why Metuh who is the spokesperson of the party announced that he would not contest for any position at the convention. Metuh is facing trial over his involvement in the disbursement of $2.1 billion by the office of the national security adviser during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan. Part of Metuh’s statement read: “I wish to state publicly that I have no ambitions to continue as a member of the National Working Committee after the expiration of my current tenure as the national publicity secretary, a decision that is enjoying the support of my family.
“I therefore with every sense of responsibility confirm to all members of our great party, that I will not run for any position whatsoever, in the forthcoming national convention, irrespective of which office may be zoned to the South-east for that matter.
“What is paramount in my mind, at this point, is to continue to lift the image of our great party during the remaining part of my tenure as the image maker of the PDP, a position which, by the grace of God, I have been able to dutifully deliver to the best of my ability, despite daunting challenges.
Meanwhile, the PDP is struggling to keep the house united following a warning issued by some members of the party over the zoning of the party’s chairmanship position . The party announced earlier ahead of its convention that key positions of the party’s candidacy have been zoned with the north expected to produce the presidency and the south east to take the vice presidency position. https://www.naij.com/807812-corruption-pdp-bans-olisa-metuh-dokpesi-others-contesting.html?source=index_main FTC dedicate this to my buying fuel for N86:50 and having a full tank in over one month, Right move from PDP |

Politics › Ripples Over Bayelsa Cp’s Letter To Dickson by gare(op): 8:07am On Apr 18, 2016 |
The letter written by the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, Mr Peter Ogunyanwo to Governor Henry Seriake Dickson on threats of security breach due to the refusal of the House of Assembly to swear-in three opposition elected lawmakers is generating ripples in the state. Ogunyanwo had received a letter from the three opposition lawmakers namely Alfred Belemote (APGA, Brass 2), Gabriel Ogbara (ADC, Ogbia 2) and Gibson Munalayefa (Labour Party, Ogbia 2) requesting for Police protection for members of their constituencies to stage a mega rally to the Bayelsa State House of Assembly to press the demand for the swearing-in of their representatives. The Police boss aware of the security implications of a rally in Yenagoa at this period wrote to Dickson appealing to him to prevail on the leadership of the House to swear in the affected lawmakers in the interest of peace and justice and to prevent fresh security threat in the state. Investigations revealed that Dickson had not officially seen the letter when it was published in the media and it caused uneasiness in government circles. The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon Jonathan Robinson Obuebite while exonerating Dickson from the impasse in the House said Dickson had never interfered in the activities of the House of Assembly. Obuebite who said, as a former lawmaker, he has sufficient information on activities in the House explained that the Speaker is the leader of the House and what was happening to the opposition lawmakers has nothing to do with the governor. He said the state government had not received any letter from Ogunyanwo warning it of impending security threat. “The Bayelsa Governor, Seriake Dickson has never interfered with the affairs of the State House of Assembly. The State Assembly is not subject to the unilateral control of the state executive. The governor and the government will not interfere in the business of the State Assembly. It is an internal affair and the people should not drag the State Governor into it. As a former legislator, the governor has promoted independence of the legislature and does not interfere. We are not aware of such letter. We heard and read about it on the pages of newspaper like everybody.” Meanwhile investigations indicated that the office of the Attorney- General of the Federation and Minister of Justice in reply to a petition sent to it by the three lawmakers would send a letter to the House of Assembly highlighting the implications of its refusal to allow the opposition lawmakers take their lawful seats. http://sunnewsonline.com/ripples-over-bayelsa-cps-letter-to-dickson/ |

NgeneUkwenu: Currency Deal With China To Crash The Dollar By 70% !
President Buhari doesn't have "certificate" but he sure knows how to make things happen and do what some heroes with unproven Ph.D. can't even dream of...
1. As President Buhari and CBN Governor, Emefiele moved closer to actualizing their promise to strengthen the naira against the US dollars
2. By signing a landmark currency deal with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd on Tuesday in Beijing, China.
3. The agreement will allow Nigerian who imports mainly from China conclude their transactions in the Chinese currency instead of the dollar
4. The new agreement would see Nigeria-China trades, which accounts for over 70 percent of imports into Nigeria, concluded in the Yuan.
5. Until now over 90% of int'l trades between Nigeria & the world is done in dollars, & in the process putting so much pressure on the naira
6. Nigeria imports almost all it needs from the West, Middle East and Asia.
7. The CBN is expected to diversify a huge chunk of Nigeria’s foreign reserve from the dollars to the Yuan to perfect the agreement.
8. “It means that the renminbi (Yuan) is free to flow among diff banks in Nigeria, & the renminbi has been included in the FXR of Nigeria,”
9. FXR means foreign exchange reserves
10. Lin Songtian, director general of the African affairs department of China’s foreign ministry, told reporters in Beijing ...
11. .. a few minutes after the agreement was signed between the Governors of the nations’ reserve banks..
12. in the presence of President Buhari & President Xi Jingping of China, who is hosting Buhari and top Nigerian officials to a state visit.
13. Lin said a framework on currency swaps has been agreed with Nigeria, making it easier to settle trade deals in Yuan.
14. China has signed currency swap deals with countries ranging from Kazakhstan to Argentina as it promotes wider use of its Yuan.
15. Nigeria would become the clearinghouse for Yuan denominated transactions for the whole of Africa following the agreement.
16. Beijing also signed agreements to develop infrastructure in Nigeria, part of a drive to deepen its ties with Africa.
17. It has offered Nigeria a loan worth $6 billion to fund infrastructure projects.
18. Also, ICBC signed a $2 billion loan deal with Dangote group, to fund two cement plants it plans to build, Lin told Reuters.
19. China’s official Xinhua news agency cited President Xi as telling Buhari that there was huge potential for economic cooperation, naming
20. Naming oil, refining and mining..
21. Nigeria is also considering issuing Panda bonds (mainly Yuan denominated) as against euro bonds because they are cheaper.
This is good, better days are ahead, I'm sooo happy and hopeful right now. Nigeria shall be great again!
Miss Ngene We all have been shouting diversify the economy, but with this deal I don't see how it will help diversify the economy, because this will promote so much import from China that is what the Chinese stands to gain from this deal why we flood our country with Chinese goods. So what's the celebration about this deal has taken us backwards |

Nigerians expected that the priority of the present Senate would be drafting and sponsoring of bills that will make positive impact on the economy especially on the prevailing forex crises but behold, our ‘distinguished’ elected representatives decided to embark on a laughable and stupid wild goose chase by sponsoring and allowing a bill that seeks to weaken and frustrate the activities of The Code of Conduct Bureau and The Code of Conduct Tribunal, an institution established to discourage corruption and prosecute individuals suspected to have made false asset declaration. The Senate claims that the bill is meant to give opportunity to the accused to defend his or herself at the Bureau before prosecution. This is ridiculous! It is ridiculous because during every prosecution, suspects are given adequate opportunity to defend themselves with the assistance of lawyers. So, the Senate should bear in mind that the bill is not only a failure on arrival but an abuse of court process and an insult to our justice system. If suspects should be allowed to defend themselves before prosecution, then there is no need approaching the court. Since our constitution grants a suspect the right to be deemed innocent until proved guilty by the court, why is the Senate pushing such bill? Such bill is nothing but a mockery of our constitution and by sponsoring and allowing it to pass through second reading, the Senate just exhibited some atoms of fear of possible prosecution and conviction by the courts. This is because any innocent suspect won’t be trying to avoid or frustrate his or her prosecution, rather, such suspect will be always willing and anxious to open his or her defense in court. Moreover, why sponsoring and hurrying the passage of such controversial bill at a time when the Senate president is facing prosecution at the same code of conduct tribunal? That alone puts the integrity of the Bill to question. In a sane clime, the Senate President should resign in order to have more time for his defence in court but over here in Nigeria, instead of resigning, our own distinguished Senate President decided to give his support for the amendment of the Acts that serves as backbone to his trial. Having lost in several attempts to escape trial, Senate President Bukola Saraki now sit down to support the weakening of his trial through some Acts amendments. Furthermore, by embarking on the amendments of the Code of Conduct Bureau, The Code of Conduct Tribunal and The Administration of Criminal Justice Acts at same time especially at a time when the Senate president is facing trial, and by allowing the Code of Conduct Bureau and The Code of Conduct Tribunal Act amendment bill to pass through second reading within forty-eight hours of its introduction, the Senate is simply telling Nigerians that it is afraid that the Senate President will speedily (be convicted) receive justice because with the current provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, there is no more room for lawyers or judges to prolong or frustrate trials. The Senate should know that its members will certainly need to hold president Buhari on his trouser before he will sign such fraudulent and ridiculous bill into law. Even though the legislature can veto the president if he refuses signing a bill, the Senate should note that in cases like this, the legislature will always have its say while the executive will always have its way. The National Assembly should also note that Nigerians are not fools and they can’t sit and watch its members frustrate the ongoing anti-corruption war by any means. President Buhari should as a matter of urgency, maximally utilise the various powers vested on him as the commander- in-chief to safeguard the letter and spirit of our constitution as he sworn to do before hijackers turn our nation into a lawless comedy zone. God bless Nigeria.

Politics › Re: Governor Fayose's Letter To China: Should He Be Charged For Treason? by gare(f): 4:29pm On Apr 15, 2016 |
ArchiPelago1: When I heard about Fayose's purpoted letter to the Chinese government, I dismissed it as a Rumour. But today, pictures have been going round social media of a copy of the letter telling the Chinese government not to loan us the money we are asking for... This clearly shows that Fayose is working against the interest of Nigeria.
In Law, Treason is the crime that covers some of the EXTREME acts against ones Nation or Sovereign. In my opinion Fayose's letter is treasonable and to be fair he must be given the "Nnamdi Kanu treatment" (Immunity or no Immunity).
Click to read the letter if you missed it https://www.nairaland.com/3049293/fayoses-letter-chinese-government-stop You can keep your opinion to yourself, now is the time you see people come up to say anything you do or say against the present Govt is treason, he is entitled to his freedom and that he has done since you don't even know your right from your left you will call it treason |

[quote author=Ofunaofu post=44653074] http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/04/fg-defends-amaechi-says-project-captured-in-budget/[/quote So, the National Assembly, the Senate is open if the executive brings a supplementary appropriation with respect to these and any other issue that they feel very strongly about. We are ready and willing to consider such. Why all this noise, the time spent on all this would have been used to prepare a supplementary budget and send to the house, we should waste time arguing back and forth over this issue. Amaechi was a former speaker and knows how this things works rather going into war of words with the national Assembly. |

jmichlins: This is something many will NEVER experience in their life and next and yet have the audacity to call my president a dullard and i wonder with their smart brain and intelligence why they will never experience such. Ride on my president fools can hang in pains Which experience are you talking about ? The endless fuel scacity, no power, no jobs, my friend please kindly wake and ensure this APC led federal government sits up and do all it takes to ensure the suffering in the country is reduced. The present govt received a country with a viable economy, but turned it around with its useless police's, when this govt took over how much the dollar rate to the Naira, when the government took over how much was a bag of rice and other food stuffs, this kind of experience to my understanding is not what we should be allowed to go thru. I expect this govt to work on the gains of the previous Administration and improve on it. |
Politics › Re: CSO Warns Wike Against Anti- Buhari Protest by gare(f): 3:46pm On Apr 11, 2016 |
suasmablow: The New Initiative for Credible Leadership (NILC) has warned Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to stop instigating Nigerians against President Muhammadu Buhari. Executive Director of the group Reverend Steven Onwu said on Sunday that the planned protest against Buhari on Thursday in Port Harcourt is uncalled for. He said that announcement by facilitators of the protest tagged "Occupy Nigeria Season 2", where they revealed
that a protest was being planned against federal government’s inability to solve the perennial fuel scarcity in the country is mischievous and that the mass action apparently being sponsored by Governor Wike was because President Muhammadu Buhari consistently maintained his neutrality in the state’s rerun poll instead of supporting him as he had expected. "The issue between the Minister of Transport and immediate past governor, Rotimi Amaechi and Wike has reached its limit. It is the reason Wike is sponsoring the so called ‘Occupy Nigeria Season 2’ to both embarrass and sabotage the Federal Government. If this is Wike’s strategy of getting at President Buhari for not taking sides in the re-run elections then it is very sad. "Mr President displayed the maturity expected of a statesman by neither siding with Amaechi nor Wike; so why should the governor now be trying to burn the state simply to spite the FG," Onwu said. He also urged all those invited for the protest to ask critical questions before making themselves available. He said: "Our advice to student bodies, NGOs, CSOs, CBOs and any other person or group that has been contacted for this paid protest is that they should read between the lines and understand what it is they are asking for. The economic situation in the land and the associated fuel crisis are already being dealt with from what is being reported in the media so what else is the protest meant to achieve?"
Source: www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/cso-warns-wike-against-anti-buhari-protest/141816.html Who told you PMB took a neutral position, all the soldiers that Amaechi and Dakuku carried with them are from where, forget that old man he is very wicked and vindictive, he gave approval for the soldiers to work with Amaechi but to his surprise Amaechi could not deliver and you say he is taking a neutral stand. Then secondly there is nothing wrong in staging a peaceful protest, if that will wake them up fine, it has never being this bad, the country was not this bad when he took over from GEJ, despite the corruption level, now that things are suppose to be looking good, it is the reverse. The Occupy Nigeria season was justified because it was done in Lagos, I never heard you advice Fashola, whatever you call yourself you have shown that you are an hepocrit, the protest has nothing to do with Amaechi or PBM as a person rather it has to do with the Federal Govt failing to keep its promise, please keep your advice to yourself or better advice PMB to ensure there is constant power and fuel. |

Since you have failed in almost every sector of the economy, you are now trying to divert our attention somewhere else it will not work, even if you publish every Nigerians name on that list it will still not work. We are tired of this govt, instead of doing what they promise us they are today PDP, tomorrow past 16 yrs, next tomorrow dasukigate and still Nigerians are suffering no power, no fuel, no jobs,no money the country is so bad than the way it was handed over to this Govt . We are tired of your scam it is very obvious that you guys are more than clueless than the previous govt. |

Politics › Re: I Won’t Touch Amaechi’s Rivers Monorail- Wike by gare(f): 11:18pm On Mar 28, 2016 |
rottennaija: This man's talks senselessly. Is cross river States topography like Rivers state? Is their land as muddy as Rivers state? Why not probe the project to a certain where the money went? Was the scope of the monorail the same?
Are the designs and detail the same? Are they passing through land or did bridges needs to be built for them if they are crossing the road? These are issues you find out.
Rivers state needs another mode of transportation apart from road to curb their traffic issues. The population is growing faster than roads built. No amount of roads built can do that. This man should put politics aside and do what will eventually bring benefits to the people of rivers state.
Governance is about continuity. You don't abandon good project because you don't like the person that started it or because the person has stolen money meant for the project. Wike must have understood that when he offered himself as a governor's candidate in the election. If you feel that Amaechi looted the funds meant for the monorail project, then by all means necessary, probe him and probe the project. If money was taken or stolen, then ask for the money to be returned. Take him to court! Present your evidence and let him defend himself. Or isn't that what the federal government is doing?
But please, don't come to the social media to tell us you can't continue it, not because you don't know the economic benefits it has for the state but because someone has "stolen money" meant for it. Unless you want to let us believe it has no economic benefits. It shows a lack of vision on you as a leader otherwise, unless you don't know it's benefits to the state.
I believe you didn't watch or listen to the program, reason Wike gave for not continuing with the monorail project was not because Amaechi stole or not, but the money to complete the project is not there and he needs complete projects that will affect the lives of the citizens of the state. He said he can't promise and fail, whatever he said in is campaign he will give to the citizens. So take note that is not about his issues with Ameachi, the money that will complete that monorail project will construct a lot of roads for us in Port Harcourt and it environs |

Can Sagay advice PMB to compel Amaechi to answer to his own case too, so that this govt will not been seen to be operating double standards. |

And that includes Ekiti, with the Loud Mouth Fayose who never sees anything good in this Government, unless after he has siphoned his State's money and wants to go get more from the Federal Government.
