[quote author=mikkypel post=46453285]This is 21st century, change that culture [/quote

We are Africans and we must act as such, we must try and maintain and sustain our culture despite the introduction of technology and modernisation.

I do not see what should be changed there, the fact that we collect N120 as bride price or the fact that the money is too small, or would you rather prefer we collect millions like our brothers from the eastern part and have the lady buried at her husband's place.

I am so sorry to disappoint you, we will not change it, try and deal with it .

From our place we don't sell our daughters so when she passes on you expected to bring her back to be buried, during the payment of bride price of N120, N20 is returned back to the groom, that our daughters are not for sale, upon death she should be brought back.

Yes I know how difficult things are in Nigeria right now. Everyday I read and hear from the media news and articles about Nigeria that trouble the heart.
Life in Europe is better in terms of basic needs as humans, but socially it has decayed beyond imagination. The future of our children is at stake here socially and morally. The western culture is eating deep in our children.
So I'm considering bringing my family down to Nigeria to train them in our own culture.
Do you think I'm making a mistake?
Please your candid advice.
It is a good idea but the time is bad, so I would advice you bring them for holidays down here, but coming back here to settle is a very bad idea, the whole country is messed up, we don't seem to understand what's going on.

The matter is getting worse day by day, and buhari seem not moved by it.

Sometimes i wonder why the federal government which has a big imprint of the north is afraid of true federalism, what are they scared of, because the last time i checked nigerians (south) have screamed , yelled and even protested for it. We all know and even the government knows that true federalism will stop the myriad of problems facing nigeria, there will be less agitation and massive development .

With true federalism, i believe the north can be far greater and more richer than it is today.
But will the northern oligarchs allow it?
Can mere protest move the government to consider true federalism?
The answer is, capital NO for both questions.

I don't support NDA destructive tendencies but a part of me is happy because i see the nigerian government forced to consider true federalism with a 50/50 sharing fomular. And to add to true federalism, all political prisoners must be released eg: kanu in order to quell agitations and unwanted protest.

In true FACT, NDA is the intelligent group here, far intelligent than the federal government of Nigeria because their demands is the medicine to Nigeria's sickness.

Politics › Re: Photos Of Rotimi Amaechi At Challenges Of Mass Transportation Lecture In Lagos by gare(f): 10:26am On Jun 09, 2016
henryanna36:
Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has restated the readiness of the Ministry to partner with the Lagos State Government on improved ways of utilising the inland water ways to improve transportation system in the state.
The Minister who was the Lead Speaker at the 1st Lagos Traffic Radio Lecture Series with the theme “Migrating Workforce: The Challenges of Mass Transportation” on 7th June, observed that it has become necessary for Lagos State to utilise other modes for mass transportation as the roads alone cannot cope with the level of migration into the city.

Amaechi said that the ministry has forwarded the National Transport Commission and the Nigerian Railway Corporation bills to the National Assembly for consideration with the aim of enhancing regulation and further opening opportunities for private sector investment into critical transport infrastructure. He highlighted some of the strategic interventions the ministry has embarked upon to improve transportation system in the country to include the auditing of the maritime sector, the re-establishment of a new national shipping line through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, building modern rail infrastructure to link most of the country and the establishment of inland ports amongst others.

While commending the Government of Lagos State for its strategic focus in transportation development, Hon. Amaechi urged the Lagos State Government to remain committed to its transport master plan. The Minister assured stakeholders that the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari has the capacity and political will to deliver on its promises because of its zero tolerance for corruption and commitment to due diligence.

He said.....

“In fact, as families migrate due to employment purposes, they are compelled to move with children who require transportation to attend schools. Where transportation is lacking, the level of distress for the working parents and children becomes increased.

“Studies of the travel behaviour of the migrating workforce in the UK and US10  for example show that  Migrants are concentrated in metropolitan areas where public transport provision is high.

“In the UK in particular, 40 percent of the non-EEA migrant population live in London compared to UK nationals. Researchers in the US on the other hand reveal that migrants’ would prefer residential locations that are well served by public transport. The research further reveals that In developing countries, Migrants’ travel is strongly associated with the use of non-car-driving modes of travel (including public transport including buses, trains, underground/light rail, walking, cycling and car sharing. )

“Therefore, availability of efficient and affordable transportation in a location  is a major consideration for  the  choice  migrants make   to  look for employment  and places of residence.
According to him, as far as mass transportation is concerned, there is evidence to show that inadequacy in transport infrastructure and services has contributed significantly to the prevalence of poverty across various Nigerian communities in both urban and rural areas.
The minster explained that the problems of Nigerian transport system have varied across various sub-sectors including air, water, rail and road transport.
He urged Lagos State government to make its policy on water transportation known to the Federal Government before it considers numerous proposals from the private sector operators.

Politics › Re: Why Govt Is Yet To Release N350bn Stimulus Fund – Adeosun by gare(f): 9:53am On Jun 09, 2016
zik4ever:
The federal government yesterday explained why it is yet to revive the economy with an injection of N350 billion four months after making the promise.

According to the government, the money is available but it has been hindered by procedural lapses. It, however, gave the assurance that the money will be available in the next week or two.

LEADERSHIP recalls that on March 22 this year, the government had said it intended to inject N350 billion into the country to revive economic activities.

Minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun, had said, at the end of the two-day National Economic Council (NEC) Retreat at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, that the money would partly be used to offset contractual debts in the country.

Speaking to State House correspondents yesterday after a federal executive council meeting (FEC) presided over by acting president, Yemi Osinbajo, the minister of budget and national planning , Udo Udoma, said the focus of the meeting was to review the economy.

Udoma said his ministry briefed FEC members about the economy and the steps that they need to take and that the Council approved that the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) should fast-track the processes for the capital budgets so that the economy could be quickly reflated.

He said, “As for the N350billion which was indicated, the money is available but there is a process and this is part of the reasons we briefed Council; there is the need to fast-track those processes so that, very soon, most of those monies would be released. We expect, in the Ministry of Works, they should have quite a substantial release in the next week or so.

“It’s easier for us for existing projects but new projects are a bit more difficult because of the public procurement (requirements). You have to advertise and you have to wait for six weeks and so on. So new projects will take a bit longer.

“But existing projects that had already gone through the public procurement process will be faster and I believe that you will soon start seeing the impact of those releases.

On recession as hinted by Central Bank and the retrenchments in the banking sector, the minister recalled that the government had launched a strategic document, and set out 34 core objectives it intends to achieve this year.

“We set out all our objectives. We have a plan and the plan is to reflate the economy. What has happened to Nigeria is not a surprise to the government; it is something that we came in to meet; it has been caused by the fall of crude oil prices from over $100 to less than $30 and so we came in to meet that problem.

“The decision that we took to address that problem is to reflate the economy and the budget was aimed at achieving that and that is why you have in the budget a plan to spend a large amount of money on infrastructure, but as you know, the budget was only recently passed.

“It is just that, at this particular point in time, we expected this trajectory because the releases will only start kicking in so that, by the third quarter, we will start seeing the impact of what we are doing to reflate the economy.”

On speculated impending sack of workers in para-military organisations, he said the government had no such policy to retrench workers, and pleaded with the private sector to reconsider their stance.

He said, “That is news to me. I am not aware of any instruction to anybody to sack anybody. In fact, the policy of this government, we said so at the beginning that we are not going to retrench. There are people who retire, people who may be disciplined but there is no policy in this government to retrench.

“With regards to the plea to the private sector, it is because we know that by the time the economy picks up, they will need those people again. We know the economy is going to pick up – we are confident about that; that is because of our plan – the plan was conceived because we knew that this was the trajectory we will move into.”

He also disclosed that the government had a plan to move the country up 20 places in the ease of doing business index.

“We want to stimulate the private sector because we know that even the spending by government alone will not be sufficient. We also need to have policies that will encourage the private sector. We do have a plan. It was launched; it was taken to cabinet and approved by cabinet,” he concluded.

1. Buhari was asked a complex question by an American female journalist from the audience that mentioned inclusiveness. He didn't really understand the question and he sought clarification from the host on the stage with, who whispered something inaudible in his ear.
To be honest I also didn't fully understand the question.

2. Buhari said that it is a political reality that you cannot treat a constituency that gave you 5 percent the same way as a constituency that gave you 95%, because you have to show some appreciation for the hard work put in by constituencies that helped get you elected.

3.He went on to add however that he stands by his motto of belonging to everyone and belonging to nobody.

4.He also added that he couldn't treat any constituency differently even if he wanted to because the Nigerian constitution forbids it.

5. He never mentioned any regions by name so how the the ND militants know he was ascribing the 5% to them beats logic.
It's a pity you guys will come here to justify something the whole know is wrong, I am really sick that you waste your time to make all this justification to call the militants a bad name, we all are against the bombings,. Instead of us criticizing Mr President, I think we as a nation should desist from this dangerous trend of always want to condemn and forget to commend the giant and noble step he has taken. I stand to be corrected, no government at any level have ever done this since our nationhood. We have seen situations, of most recently, the Enugu state (Chima) where the Governor was incapacitated for number of months out of the country without handing over to his deputy. The Yaadua saga also came to mind too. PMB is setting a good precedence here and I am urging well meaning Nigerians to commend him for doing the right thing ever. If we fail to commend him, we are encouraging others to continue with the illegality of closing government shop and travel abroad without properly handing over to their deputies. Some will want to criticize even if their is nothing to critic. At once let us as a people begin to constructively critic government action and commend them when they do good. To me if we fail to commend Mr President for this, it is not the good omen we are setting.

Politics › Re: Military After Avengers, Sponsors, Not Tompolo In Particular —DHQ by gare(f): 9:42am On Jun 07, 2016
TheFreeOne:
Fidelis Soriwei, Abuja

The Defence authorities on Monday said that the military was after the members of the Niger Delta Avengers, who claimed responsibility for the attacks on oil facilities, and their sponsors.

The Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Rabe Abubakar, told our correspondent on the telephone on Monday that the military was not particularly concerned about the former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.

He said that the military could only be concerned about Tomopolo, if he was found to be part of the group.

He said that the military was making elaborate measures designed to ensure that the members of the group and their sponsors were arrested.

He stated also that the military was not aware of the claim by another militant group, the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force, that Tompolo had escaped from the country to Libya.

He said, “We are not aware of that, I actually don’t know. We are not particularly concerned about Tompolo.

“The people we are after are those perpetrators and their sponsors. We are not after Tomopolo himself; we are after the perpetrators and their sponsors. And if he is one of them, well, but we are not particular about him.

“We are after the Avengers and their sponsors. And all the measures that we are putting in place are geared towards apprehending the perpetrators, whoever they think they are. And we will not rest till we get that done.

“We are not particular about anybody. We are after the group that has been attacking oil facilities. We will be completely resolute. We will be systematic in doing that.”

The acting Defence spokesman, who also spoke on the threat by the militant group to bomb strategic places in the country, stated that the military would not join issues with them.

He said that the military had always taken proactive measures and would not be concerned with statements being made by the groups.

He stressed that the military would be systematic and professional in all its actions in the operation.

“We don’t like to join issues with them. No. We have been taking proactive measures and we will continue to do that,” Abubakar said

Blackberrybabes:
The Nigerian stock market crashed by N1.732tn within one year of the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange data showed that the NSE market capitalisation on May 28, 2015 was N11.658tn, while that of May 27, 2016 was N9.926tn.

Market capitalisation is the total market value of the shares outstanding of a publicly traded company.

The NSE All-Share Index also crashed to 28,902.25 basis points from 34,310.37 basis points.

Investors in the country’s capital market (equity category) lost over N1.053tn in the first quarter of 2016.

During the first three months this year, the equities market depreciated by 10.79 per cent.

As of the first day of trading this year (January 4), the NSE market capitalisation stood at N9.757tn, while the All-Share Index was 28,370.32 basis points.

But as of the last day of trading in 2016 Q1 (March 31), the market capitalisation and All-Share Index crashed to N8.704tn and 25,306.22 basis points, respectively.

Equity investors in the country’s capital market had, in the first seven trading days on the floor of the NSE in 2016, lost N804tn of their investment’s worth. Market capitalisation after the close of trading on the floor of the Exchange on the first seven days closed at N8.953tn.

The All-Share Index also dropped from 28,370.32 basis points recoded on the first day of trading in 2016 to 26,034.94 on the seventh trading day of this year.

The downward trend in the Nigerian stock market, weeks into 2016, did not show any sign of abating as the market capitalisation continued to fall, with 10 out of the 12 indices of the NSE recording negative stance 10 weeks into 2016.

The market capitalisation of the NSE fell by N811bn in the first 10 weeks of trading this year.

The NSE market capitalisation dropped from N9.75tn on January 4, 2016 to N8.939tn 10 weeks into the year, while the All-Share Index also closed at 25,988.40 basis points from the 28,643.67 basis points recorded on the first trading day of the year.

Investors had also made huge losses in the Nigerian equities market last year as the market capitalisation (equities only) of the NSE shed a total of N2.354tn between December 2014 and December 2015.

The President, Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, last week, said the country’s capital market could not continue to lag behind in the global arena, adding that it needed to strategise for growth to better the economy.

He said the capital market must facilitate capital raising for economic growth as well as mobilise savings for investment.

Aig-Imoukhuede said part of the strategies was a broad consensus on sectorial priorities for growth, which should feed into policy formation.

He advocated for incentives for priority economic sectors like Information and Communications Technology, while pushing for non-listed national champions to be listed on the NSE for others to follow.

He said, “Nigeria is facing a huge growth challenge. Nigeria, indeed, has a big challenge in terms of growth. Employment rate must grow owing to the fact that the population is also growing very fast. Growth is difficult to realise; so, government must stimulate growth.

“Nigeria is only exaggerating the impacts of falling oil prices now. This is because with a robust financial market the economy can be sustained. The financial market must be encouraged.”

He described the Nigerian financial market as a ‘high-risked’ market, saying the situation was capable of attracting limited investors who could ultimately stop at nothing to maximise returns.

An analyst at WSTC Financial Services Limited, Mr. Tola Oni, said in the last one year, the efficiency of the country’s economy had been constrained by policies – monetary and fiscal.

He noted that the country had not been able to chart the right path in the past one year, saying some actions by the Federal Government in recent times had shown a rethink especially in the partial deregulation of the petroleum downstream sub-sector and the flexible foreign exchange market.

“Our concern is that this flexibility must mean flexibility in the whole sense of it. We’ve seen the capital market make progress recently owing to these. Any attempt by the government to interfere again could drag us back significantly,” he added.

The President, Constance Shareholders Association of Nigeria, Mr. Shehu Mikail, said the happenings in the stock market in the past one year were a reflection of the country’s economic stance, which is very hostile policy-wise

He said the country had been plagued with serious economic and financial challenges, which had resulted in activities being slowed down especially in the financial sphere, which included the NSE.

Mikail added, “The prices can be better if things turn around economically. The 2016 budget had been passed and the implication of the passage would start filtering into the economy in due course. With the recent forex flexibility, we expect the game to change.

To this end, the NSE Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Oscar Onyema, while commenting on the state of the market, had said, “Among emerging markets, recession has materialised in Brazil and Russia, and the trend is likely to continue amid weakening oil and other commodity prices. The Nigerian stock market had already lost $30bn since July 2014.

“In the sub-Saharan Africa, while the recent performance of Nigeria and South Africa, has been lackluster, the overall region has weathered the commodity slump better than Latin America and elsewhere, with growth slated at 4.3 per cent in 2016, up from 3.8 per cent in 2015.”

I believe this is also the fault of the previous Govt and Jonathan, when you leave the log in your eyes and go after the peck in another person eyes, this is what you get.

How do you Intend to create jobs when companies are all running at a loss, govt make policies and this policies are meant for the private sector, which will help them grow and create jobs in return, but the policies of this govt had led to companies closing down or sacking some of its work force.

This Govt should review it's policies if it has any or create and environment for conducive business

It is amusing, if not very disturbing, to see the number of people the Buhari administration has brought out of the woodwork to sing its praises on this its one-year anniversary. Having arrested key spokespersons of the opposition, intimidated the press into silence, threatened the judiciary, and even arrested its non-politician critics, such as Olu Adegboruwa, on trumped up charges, the government has become confident that it has a free pass to feed Nigerians with lies about its woeful performance in office.

Having won a “famous” election by telling Nigerians a tissue of lies which it then repudiated on assuming office, the government continues to believe it can also govern just by continuing to tell lies. Thus, assessing his performance in office over the past one year, the president even went as far as to boast that it has been “a year of triumph.” This shows conclusively that truth has fallen in the street of this misguided Buhari administration; so much so that abject failure has been camouflaged as its triumph.

Deceitful election campaign

In all my years of living in Nigeria, I can say, along with the overwhelming majority of Nigerians, that we have never had it so bad. Only one thing explains the extremities of Nigeria’s miserable predicament today: we have in office a government so singularly inept and incompetent, it has triumphed in making a bad situation so much worse.

In an article last year entitled: “Why Nigerians Must Reject the Second-Coming of Buhari,” I made this observation after listening to Buhari’s vapid campaign speeches:

“It is amazing that, for a man who is running for election as president for a marathon fourth time, Buhari is so bereft of ideas as to how he would do anything if he were to become president. No man becomes president of Nigeria on the basis of vain platitudes. No man becomes president as a result of social media blogs and sound-bites. No man becomes president by giving two-minute speeches in craftily-packaged rallies, one minute of which is spent introducing his entourage.”

However, many Nigerians refused to heed our warning. Now the chickens have come to roost. After listening to President Buhari’s inaugural speech in May 2015, I also had this to say in an article entitled: “Is President Buhari Born Again?”:

“Buhari has been running for president for the last 14 years. Nevertheless, listening to his inaugural speech, it is clear he does not have a clue what exactly to do when in office. Either the APC never really believed it would win the election, or it was too preoccupied with winning to pay sufficient attention to what it would do in the unlikely event that it won.”

Of course, Buhari apologists promptly came to his defence. They claimed it was too early to make such assessment. Let the man settle down.

Baba Do-Nothing

The first 100 days of a new administration provides the best opportunity to proclaim giant strides and pass difficult legislation because it is still the honeymoon period. But our man Buhari squandered this opportunity by doing absolutely nothing. At his 100 days inaugural, I had this assessment:

“After 100 days, it should now be abundantly clear that Buhari is not qualified to be president of 21st century Nigeria. The president has neither agenda nor direction. His cardinal objective is apparently the prosecution of Northern hegemony. The APC desperately needs to organise an intervention, before Buhari drives the country into the ditch. It is time to admit it. Electing Buhari as president was a big national blunder.”

Again, the paid chorus-singers jumped to the president’s defence. They insisted again that 100 days is not enough to make an adequate assessment of a president’s agenda or direction. Buhari still needed to be given more time.

Buhari wasted seven months to choose the members of his cabinet, receiving in the process the ignominy of being nicknamed “Baba Go-Slow.” He promised Nigerians his ministers would be unimpeachable saints and angels. But when the time finally came, they turned out to be the same old and tired politicians, some with serious allegations of corruption hanging over their heads. In an uncharacteristic moment of clarity, Buhari himself castigated them as “noise-makers.” In office, they have been singularly unimpressive without exception.

Abubakar Malami, the Minister of Justice, dropped a fictitious bombshell by declaring that the EFCC has recovered 2 trillion dollars of stolen loot. The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, dazzled our credibility by saying his ministry has the capacity to generate about 3.4 million jobs in 2016 alone through pencil production. Lai Mohammed, another of the government’s bamboozlers, said the government would use the N1.4 trillion in the TSA as Father Christmas handouts for Nigeria’s poorest 20 million. This kind of blatantly false hot air has become the stock-in-trade of this APC government.

I salute your courage and greet you sir for this write up, I had expected the likes of Prof. Soyinka, Pastor Bakare, Falana and the rest of them from the north to speak up but everyone seems to be quiet.

What most people have failed to understand is that criticism doesn't mean you hate this Govt or the President or you want the President to fail, but its expected that whenever you are criticised you sit up and do the right thing, no one has the monopoly of knowledge alone, so when people talk even from the opposition, you should listen and take ideas from them.

It's over 1yr since he assumed office but we don't seem to understand the direction the nation is moving to, the policies so far are not helping the economy, the minister are afraid to act and talk everyone seems to be looking at the face of the President and his body language.

The issues currently happening in the Niger Delta and Eastern part of the country are poorly managed, as a matter of fact he should call for the confab report and take a look at it, there should be something in there that can be useful to his government and the country at large.

It's not too late for the President to have a look at the composition of his cabinet and his policies it's not too late to make amends and the this nation on the right path of development.

On the issues of corruption, I feel the President is only going after his enemies and the PDP to see that they cannot not pressure him or this Govt, all none mouthpiece of the party are currently being held down by one corrupt charges or the other, so no one can speak, but this APC Govt is till very much involved in corrupt practices and how many of such corrupt Govt officials or public officials are been investigated or in court, you can't come and tell us you're fighting corruption and you go after others and your own house hold is left to rot away.

As the President of this nation, he should show love for every tribe and religion, he should not be sympathetic to only issues that affects the north only if not he is not fit to be a leader of this nation. the killings that took place in the southeast should be condemned by the President, and this govt the issues of the herdsmen should also be condemned by this Govt and the President he shouldn't not remain mute over this issues he is the President of this nation and should act accordingly.

walasky:
THE Joint Task Force (JTF) has given ultimatum to the residents of Ijaw communities to produce High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo.

They equally insisted that militants bombing oil and gas installations in Delta and Bayelsa states must be fished out.

The ultimatum, the aftermath of weekend search for more militants must have informed why the residents were said to have fled into the bush under a down pour when the military invaded the communities.

Confirming the development, an Ijaw community leader and Chairman of Kokodiagbene Town Union, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, who spoke from Kokodiagbene, said that passengers’ boats were impounded and thoroughly searched.

“As we are talking, no boat is coming in or going out. They have barred the people of Oporoza from fishing activities. The people cannot go out to get anything; they are intimidating the villagers that they must produce Avengers (Niger Delta Avengers) and Tompolo.

“Meanwhile, all the students, children and women are in the forest and there is a deliberate blockage of the waterways and food shortage is on the increase, military approach is not the best option; dialogue is the way.

“Any nation that continues years after years to spend more money on military defence rather than programmes of social upliftment is approaching a spiritual doom,” he said.

He appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to withdraw the military from Oporoza community and position them in a strategic locations to prevent the Niger Delta Avengers from further vandalism of pipeline and oil installation.

“The communities are deserted as more troops have been deployed to Oporoza and the surrounding hamlets, creating fears in the people,” Comrade Sheriff said.

“We welcome the military because of the activities of NDA and pirates. We believe the military will stem the tide of the activities, but the humiliation and intimidation of innocent citizens is unacceptable and unconstitutional.”

He added, “The NDA do not reside in Gbaramatu. They have adopted guerilla tactics to perpetrate their evil acts. The people are living in abject poverty and the Nigerian state should not add more hardship on them.

“The ecosystem is destroyed by the bombing, but the way the military is going, it will be difficult for the people to cooperate with them. The people cannot be tortured and you expect them to give you information. It is not possible.”

Why is the Army asking the image people to produce Tompolo and the NDA ? Was there any time they asked the northerns to produce Shekau and Boko Haram.

They should go and do their job instead of going to harass innocent people. The method they are towing will not bring peace Instead make matters worse

We are tired of all this revelations, so far it has not helped us in anyway, I believe it's has done the country more harm than good, if you keep revealing all this amount I don't see how that will change the present state of the economy, things are getting bad and you come out here to tell me we lost this much as a country to only a few persons.

Why don't we find a way of getting as much as we could through another means other than the way we have chosen, which is not helping, we do have plea bargain in our laws I believe it will be most effective at this time to get as much as we can, not threatening to send the whole country to jail

Get this people involved and get the much you can from them.

Keep bombing, pipelines aren't that expensive, we shut down the flow stations, get new pipes and get it working within 3 days. Its more like a rupture to a flow line, a temporary setback that wont cost much; no biggie... Chevron has already fixed all the ones u guys blew up, it's not rocket science.

Everyday is for the thief, I will be here when people will start screaming genocide and selective witch-hunting when you are finally dealt with.

For those blaming Buhari, maybe you don't know the efforts govt has made so far to negotiate with these guys. A group was invited and after negotiations and agreement, NNPC trunk lines was bombed and NDA stated boldly that the want secession.
All these ijaw groups asking for negotiations just wants to make some money out of the whole situation.
These guys don't want anything other than to disrupt govt, disrupt the EFCC cases against them. They had already stockpiled arms during the boko haram arm scandal. Their chief sponsor is already claiming to be on exile. He fortified them prior to election and they are already acting out the scripts.

Mourning endureth for a while, but joy sure cometh in the morning. NDA, we will defeat you. You can take that to the bank.
@Mazi I understand your concern, but PMB is not a sincere man, he is not truthful about his plan for Nigerians and Niger Delta, he has another plan entirely for this country and this will not help this country, you agree with me that is fight against corruption is not genuine because he is only going after his enemies, he has decided not to obey court rulings but you expect Tompolo to do same.

You can agree with me that the former governor of Rivers should be invited to answer questions on his activities and stewardship in Rivers State but yet you guys go around and celebrate him as the lion of ubima, if we all want this country to move forward we should ensure that ALL, I mean ALL that has stolen our money should be made to return them and punished for it not just this one side fight.

When the President decide to act as president to all Nigerians, lead by example by obeying the rule of law, don't make decisive comments, prosecute all not just PDP members only but who stole from Nigeria then we will enjoy peace, as far as I am concern PMB is not the Messiah for this country, but has come to destroy this country, if he continues this way I doubt if there is going to be any country called Nigeria, this has nothing to do with the Biafra struggle, now Governors are being put on security watch list, that is not a good sign for this country, this are things that only happens in despotic government, which this country is tilting into, nobody has said you should not fight corruption but should abide by court rulings.
