Am no writing off biafra am only saying dat applying wisdom will profit us more. D real truth is dat biafra will suffer for years why? Do we have seaports?? If we channelled those agitation towards building seaports in east by now we shud have gotten at least one functional seaport. Do u know dat apart from goods imported by multi nationals dat up to 85% imports belong to ibos and yet these imports develop lagos and d yorubas in turn insult us anyhow because we troop into their land for greener pastures.
Biafra is not ripe yet. Have u seen ardent ipob and massob members, are they not mostly touts? We need ibo intellectuals and politicians to crave a way for biafra not touts. Until these set of people come together, biafra is still a reverie
Do we have Seaports? Of course we do, however, Seaports is not what makes a country great. Swizerland and Austria have no seaports but are individually richer than Nigeria. Even Botswana in Africa is doing well with no Seaport. Seaport is a good thing but it is not everything like some people think.

What is important is human and capital development.

As for ardent propagators of Biafra being touts, the propagators of Nigeria were colonial criminals who came to West Africa to steal the sovereignty and wealth of the people to enrich themselves. A tout on the other hand, is not a criminal.

These two men (Gowon and Amin) have two things in common. Each spent about 9 years in power.

During their tenures, they managed to kill more of their fellow citizens than anyone else.

The combination of Gowon and Amin killed more people than anyone else in the history of Africa

Igbo presidency is no longer being clamoured for by Igbos, we dont need it. There other things that are far more important to the Igbo nation.

By holding a referendum and asking the people to vote if the want to be together or go their separate ways.

Have all Nigerians agreed to live in Nigeria?
PoliticsRe: Why Ipob People Keep Lying They Fought Nigeria Alone? by gartamanta: 12:22pm On Feb 24, 2017
Britain supplied Nigeria with Cash, Military adivicers, limitless guns. Russia supported Nigeria with fighter jets, Arms and ammunition.

Biafra on the other had only token support from France and actually had to pay Portugal for all arms it supplied.

To make matters worse for Biafra, British ships blockaded Biafra making it impossible for Ojukwu to sell Oil and Import weapons.

In terms of what military support was recieved from the international community, Nigeria got a bag of Rice while Biafra got a cup of rice.

Had the international community stayed neutral, Ojukwu who had the Oil money, would have imported large amounts of Ammunition and chased Gowon into Benin Republic.

Britain and Russia won the war for Nigeria.

Osyabj:
The question is are you in Anambra yourselfhuh?

Let me list just a few Anambrarians who have just defected to APC recently:

1) Oil billionaire Emeka Ofor
2) Oil magnate Dr Ifeanyi Uba
3) Tony Nwoye fmr Ananbra pdp chairman
4) Billionaire Arthur Eze
5) Senator Andy Uba

And of course, Anambra APC leader & fmr Governor Dr Chris "Onwa"Ngige.

The combined supporters of the above men, plus the APC federal might and fair INEC, will win any governorship election in Anambra.

The real movers and shakers in Anambra have joined the progressive movement of APC.

In addition Enugu-Onitsha Exprssway abandoned by pdp for 10 years is now under serious construction. Nearly 100,000 Anambra pupils are now enjoying daily school meals courtesy of APC federal Gov.
Arent you forgetting something? APGA has won the last 3 Government elections when most of these people were in PDP. If they couldnt do anything while they were in PDP, is it now they are in an unpopular party called APC that they will be effective?

Anambra is my state and I can say that APC is not in contention. The fight will be between PDP and APGA.

Or did anyone tell you that countries stay together by war?

Yes,I agree but that coup led to the war and the war broke the political will of the igbos and completely destroyed any chance for unity in the south forever thereby giving the north absolute power.
No you are wrong. The coup did not lead to the war. It was not the 'proximate' cause of the war. This is one error a lot of Nigerians believe which must be debunked.

Nigeria was already on the path of war even before 1966, violence was prevalent especially in Western Region.

What causes a war is the same thing that causes a fight, the inability of two or more people to reason like adults and reach a compromise that does not include fighting.

That was what Gowon and Ojukwu met in Aburi to avoid. The met, discussed for two days and reached an agreement which both signed. The went back home and there was peace. War became inevitable when Gowon could not live up to his side of the agreement.

The war was not caused by the first coup, it was caused by Yakubu Gowon.

U are such a big fool. What happened when an Igbo coup led to the death of the Head of state, Premiers of the northern and western region, sparing the president and the premier of eastern region? Ur stupid selves went ahead to mock the northerners in their land displaying offensive cartoons of how their premier was brutally killed and u expected them to fold their hands and smile and hug u.U think they are as friendly as the Yorubas. Then ur myopic and selfish Ojukwu who u guys claim had foresight wanted to lead u guys outta Nigeria when they had prevented the Ijaws from breaking out of the eastern region. Well, i suppose that was a fight between the East and North and the Yorubas were neutral until Ojukwu tried to invade Lagos which was the capital but still Yorubaland. They were stopped at Ore and more Yoruba soilders (Black scorpion- the igbo nightmare, OBJ etc) got involved because yorubaland needed to be protected. Awolowo ended a 2 and the half war with just a statement. That shows how intellectually brutal yorubas can be. Nigeria owes the Igbo nothing in fact they should apologize to the yorubas for their evil plans against them and thank them for playing a fatherly role in integrating them back into the country via 20 pounds and returning their properties
So you see, it is those who are prepared to match words with action that should be talking Freedom. Not those who are all words but no action

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Break Up Imminent, Oduduwa Republic Inevitable - Bayo Oluwasanmi by gartamanta: 10:25am On Feb 23, 2017
If Yorubas couldnt declare Oduduwa in 1967, they will never have the backbone to do it again.

There are many things that happened in that era that should have encouraged Yorubas to seek self determination, but they didnt

1) The Northerners went to Ibadan and killed the Governor of the Western Region, Lt Colonel Fajuyi. This singular act of sacrilege on Yoruba soil, to such a highly placed Yoruba son should have been the final straw for Yorubas. They should have risen up against the excesses of the North along with the Igbos, but they did nothing. When the Northerners realised that Yorubas had no fight in them, it emboldend them to do much worse.

2) Brigadier Ogundipe officially became 'acting head' of state with the disappearance of Ironsi. He should have been confirmed head of state with confirmation of Ironsi's death as the highest ranking military officer after Ironsi (Ogundipe was the only Brigadier-General in the Nigerian Army at the time). The Northerners drove Ogundipe out of Lagos, Yoruba land, and banished him to London where he was summarily retired. Again, the Yoruba nation should have risen up in defence of their land and son. They did nothing. Today, if Igbos call Lagos 'no mans land', the average Yoruba man will be offended. But when Brigadier Ogundipe was been harrased out of Lagos by the North, no Yoruba man said a word.

3) Colonel Adebayor replaced Fajuyi as Governor of the western Region. Adebayor never slept in Government House because he was afraid that the Northerners would come and slaughter him like they did Fajuyi.

Yorubas were held hostage in their own land. 20 years later, the Northerners kidnapped and slaughtered MKO Abiola. As usual, nothing happend.

I laugh when Yorubas talk about Oduduwa Republic, I dont think they realise that it takes more than 'mere talking' to achieve independence.

Omudia:
So in your warped mind, not having a referendum equates to forcing people?
Of course it does. How do you think Lugard created Nigeria? He asked the ethnic groups he met in West Africa politely if they would like to come together?

Lugard used guns and bullets to shoot everyone into submission, a mission he completed in 1914. This is the method that is still been used to hold Nigeria together since then
PoliticsRe: Why I Support Division In Nigeria. by gartamanta: 12:33am On Feb 23, 2017
No gain saying that a British opportunist called Frederick Lugard created Nigeria in 1914 for purely selfish reasons. For him, Nigeria was no better than ATM machine.

In 1919, 4 years after he forced different groups together at gun point, Lugard returned to Britain a fabulously wealthy man where he was made a 'Lord'

The colonial entity he created with no thought about if the people were compatible would explode 40 years later when Nigeria achieved self rule in 1960.

Within 6 years, political strife, coups and counter coups, wholesale massacres would inevitably lead to civil war that claimed over 3 million lives.

Nobody ever bothered to ask "why are we killing our selves because Lugard brought us together?"

"Did we kill our selves this way when there was no Nigeria?"

"Are we happier now we are together than when we were not together?"

"Who is really a Nigerian? One that accepts the name or someone who the British imposed the name on?"

One thing is clear to anybody with half a sense, no unity that is 'by force' is ever a happy one.

PoliticsRe: How Igbo's Betrayed Ojukwu & Sold Their Birthright by gartamanta: 12:08am On Feb 23, 2017
Igbos have never betrayed Ojukwu, there is no man alive or dead that Igbos love as much Ojukwu.

What non Igbos simply dont understand about Igbos is that Igbos do not respect politicians, they respect freedom fighters.

It is Ojukwu the Biafran freedom fighter that Igbos love, not Ojukwu the APGA presidential candidate.

It is Zik the independence fighter that Igbos remember, not Zik the ceremonial president and politician.

There is no Igbo politician in Igbo land that can call for a million man rally and people will come out without monetary inducement.

But Nnamdi Kanu can call for a million people to come out tomorow from jail, with no money involved, and people will troop out.

Igbos do not respect politicians, they respect freedom fighters.

PoliticsRe: Taking The Fight To Ikpeazu by gartamanta: 7:34am On Aug 12, 2016
I don't know what is wrong with some people. When politicians win elections, they will be the first to advice anyone with any grieviance against the election to "go to court". When you now go to court and get a favourable judgement, the same politician that said "go to court" will turn around and start making noise.

As it stands now, Uche Ogah is the Governor-elect and it is for Ikpeazu to now go to court to overturn the judgement. There is no room for sentiment here.

PoliticsRe: Oil Exploration In The North; How Will It Be Exported? by gartamanta: 10:38am On Aug 11, 2016
Buhari must be out of his mind to be looking for Oil in the North East, a place notorious for sectarian violence. But assuming they find Oil and some how manage to dril and extract it, it will still have to piped all the way to the south before it can be exported which is a very expensive business. The only advantage I see of finding Oil in the North is if the crude Oil can be piped to Kaduna refinery for local consumption. But that will probably benefit the North but not the south
