I want to ask these questions

1. There are many cars either bought( may be 4th user) as used vehicle and probably didn't have custom papers or couldn't locate it. WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO

2. Do custom stops vehicle that have exceeded 10 years in Nigeria without custom paper


Pls help road user expecially those who travels alot from West to South etc

However, don't expected the mechanic to give you a Guarantee on a part you purchased yourself.

Please I need convincing answers on this issue of accelerating a car in the name of warming it in the morning. Note the car is stationary. Someone advice driving the car a short distance instead of firing the engine.

there's no need to even warm it , start and drive off, keep under 3rpm till temp gets to near half mark.

Fuel is 145per liter.

Please I need your assistance. I scanned my Camry 2007 and noticed error P0717- input/output turbine speed sensor circuit no signal.

I want to know if it is an easily error to fix, and if a mechanical can fix this without causing much damage.

my suggestion is very unconventional, but from experience, a rodent nibbled on the wire it's an easy fix, just remove the air cleaner and look on top the gear box for the sensor, trace cables around it and you should see it. Tape it back up and clear codes.

my mech gave me a list with about 70k. to say I was weak is an understatement. didn't even know where to start pricing from as I have zero idea of the parts. I eventually gave him sha but I want to know the styles, strategy, established methods you guys employ to beat the gimmicks of these mechs. you'll agree with me it's a common thing? BTW, I have changed mech like five times and it's always same feeling of hiking I get plus those previous ones never kill the issues like this present one

Please i need advice on how to go around this code on my car. I have 2006 Passat 2.0TFSI i bought as Toks not too long ago,but did not scan it prior to making the payment.The dashboard was clean with no code display,Engine sound cool and i only used a full tank (60L)+20L( toped up at Ihiala Anambra state) of fuel driving the car from Cotonu to Port Harcourt city ( Good fuel economy). My problem is i recently scanned the car and this code come up:
Catalyst System; Bank 1
P0420 - 002 - Efficiency Below Threshold - MIL ON
008801 - Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249)
P2261 - 008 - Mechanical Malfunction - Intermittent
I cleared the code and P2261 never came back, but P0420 still persist.
From the search i did online, it should be consuming fuel but am yet to notice that on highway drive.Not sure of City driving. 15L fuel last about 4 days driving within city ( tro and fro from work daily of about 2 hour both including heavy traffic).

My Question is:
1. Is the fuel consumption Ok?
2. Is there a way to solve the issue with the catalyst system?

Hello friends,
I own a very clean Lexus car, which i have been very very careful with since i bought it. Unfortunately, a trailer hit me some days ago at Ogba and he smashed the rear side of my car so badly. The body is badly scratched and dented so much that one of the tyres at the rear side is now exposed since the body has gone in due to the impact.....
Now my headache is getting the best panel beater that would rectify that much dent and restore it back as if its a tokunbo car. I want a very very very clean job such that i would not even notice any difference AT ALL. My car is comprehensively insured and my Insurance firm have asked me to submit an estimate of all the repairs, so they can quickly process my claims. But i dont know any trusted panel beater at all.
Please recommend a very good panel beater that can make my car back to its original state 100%, no matter the cost involved. PLEASE I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP ON THIS.

Ok here is the story...i bought a Toyota Highlander 2002 4WD 6 Cylinder from a friend . The driver has been frustrating the woman on the car. He always ollect money from the woman for repairs on the car, but will end up not doing exactly what he collected the money for. So she decided to sell the SUV and go for a smaller car when they told her she has to change the engine of the car.
I manage to discuss with the mechanic and he informed me that the driver wanted to string the woman off 200k, while 30k can fix the engine(we discovered some particles from the old exhaust flew into the engine and caused the valve to bend ).I gladly gave him 35k to fix the engine, which he did and the car came to life again. He told me the car does have a problem before the engine problem. When on parking mode, the car can steam very well but will have a misfire once you initiate the gear to drive. We tried so many things to resolve the issue, like changing the air flow meter, exhaust, fuel pump and plugs, but the issue didn't go away.
I bought an OBD2 scanner and scanned the car and was able to resolve the issue by changing the ECU, the misfiring stopped, but right now i have issues with the gear selection. The car does not move sharp on initial acceleration, it has delay in changing from gear 2 to 3(i will have to release the throttle pedal before it can change. It also find it difficult to return.

Below are the snapshots of the scan i recently performed on the car.

I am based in Port Harcourt and will appreciate any solution out of my problem.

Meanwhile, exhaust flow is one way, and that is out of the engine, there's no way "particles" from mars will enter and bend valves, so I guess the continued the scam on ya smart ass

I would like to be informed if FRSC law allows its Officer to be parked on side streets stopping vehicles. This created a little conflict when i was stopped by an officer of the FRSC and i told the officer that the road they were on is a side street, not even a major road. i had the opinion that they were supposed to be on federal roads. But the officer lied and said the Law allows they to patrol Federal and state roads. I would love to have clarification on this.

Hi, I just finished from the mechanic, its not an oil sludge. The electrician said since no engine light is showing, there is no need for the diagnostics . The black smoke still comes out on higher acceleration and the fuel is highly affected.

I dont know whether the injector can be the culprit. A mechanic was telling of 2 sensors near the injector that possible could be causing it. Is there any other possibility I could check pending when the check-engine light surfaces?

I use a Nissan sentra gxe 2003. The car has been given me problem. The problem is stalling. I took d car for scanning and d scan detected blocking and knock sensors. I changed the both sensors d problem is still persist. Now, my rewire said I should buy another brainbox and coil. My question is could buying new brianbox and coil stop d car from stalling?

Am planning to swap my freelander engine and gear to Camry engine and gear. My engine is still sound but I always have problem with the gear box. Have changed gear box twice and as at today I need a new gear box to put the car on the road.

I was advised to change both the engine and the gear to have rest of mind.

Anybody know the cost of the set and mechanic that do a good swap for me. Offcourse with AC.

Was driving on about 100km/hr this evening and I heard a loud noise by my tyre. Ever since then I have been hearing a rubbing noise esp when i am on low speed. When I am on high speed, no noise. The noise sounds like an iron rubbing another iron, i really dunno how to describe this sound. It's annoying
