@Suxes2006 aka pear prince,Kudos to you the organizer of this thread this is a wonderful job. Keep it rolling and God bless.

My question is, I miss my appointment last week saturday in abuja. Now I want to pay another fees and get myself book for another appointment in again. I am applying for B1/B2 visit visa just 16day and my intend date is in appril. I work and I earn salary close to 200k per month, I am single. I have travel two times, one asia country, one Africa country and one careabian country visa unused. I have paid hotel reservation and I have someone who is a citizen of state, she married and she promise to send invitation. Can I include this invitation with hotel reservation or not? What other document do I need and what is my chance of geting visa if I present these following statement of account, play slip, leave letter, introduction letter from my employer, hotel reservation, invitation letter from the about mention lady. Can I use this lady as my contact person in usa. What are the likely question, what we be the best response to all question ask at the interview. All answer and advise are welcome.
If you get an invite from the lady ,then you cant probably use hotel reservation for the visit.its contradictory. You can only use one of the two.And yes,you could list the lady as your person of contact.you could check the earlier pages of this thread for likely questions. That has been answered several times.

greetings room, thanks for the good work u guys are doing here. pls i am a newbie in this room, pls i wan to knw the step to take towards applying for a visa cos my brother is getting married in august this yr and he is inviting us( myself, 2of my sisters and my cousin) to com over for the marriage in the US. pls i like to knw hw to go abt the application process. and the likely documents to present. pls all the gurus in the house i need ur prompt responds. thanks
Usually, you are required to prove your non immigrant intentions before you can be issued avisa.Do you have a stable job?Are you married?Do you own any property?Do you have a residence that you do not intend to abandon? You will need strong family ties and economic ties to convince the consular officer.you may take along your pay stubs, property receipts, wedding pictures etc.does this suffice?

Nigerian girls aren't as materialistic as 9ja guys thinks. Show a gal hw much u care even with nothing nd she will go extra miles for u. Most of 9ja guys seems to have this notion dat 9ja gals are materialistic bc of the way d try to b smart. Love u say u love ur partner u prove it aftral actn is louder dan words. So we 9ja gals xpects our 9ja guys to do more of the actions than the words!

Hello All,
My cousin just told me his passport has not been given to him yet. After the interview at the U.S embassy for a visiting visa to America last week thursday, he was given a green ticket to go pick up his passport in Ikeja and given that Monday was a national holiday, he went to the office on Tuesday (2 business after his interview as he was told by the interviewing officer) but his passport was not ready. He has since been checking online and the status he's gotten is The current status of your passport is Origination Scan. When he calls the collection center up until today, they told him his passport is still not ready.
Has anyone had an experience like this before? Also, I want to confirm that he has been issued the visa and its just the processing that takes time if not i guess he wouldn't be given a green ticket and/or he would have been told he was denied after the interview.

Great Nairalanders please help, he's been having sleepless nights regarding this situation!
He needs to exercise some patience.Although, visas are normally ready after two businees days, computer program errors or mistakes in application could cause some delay.Let him keep track by calling them.He should get his visa soon.

Suxes2006,

i have been going through ur previous posts ,and i commend u on the valuable information u have been giving to us, However  the following questions needs answers and your professional advice,

Am currently in American on a 2years B1/B2 visa which expires in less than four months time. Now should i fly back to Nigeria to Renew the visa, what are my chances? Am over 30yrs  of age and am still "SINGLE", besides the 2 usa visas on my passport (a J1  6months student work visa AND B1/b2 visa) were issued to me when i was a student in Europe,

However, this is the 3rd time of my coming to America and i have never overstayed. U may want to ask me if i have closer ties to Nigeria than the european country where i got  the visa, well "YES", i have closer ties to Nigeria in that i spent the whole of last yr in Nigeria besides my family has a landed property in form of a hospitality bizness (with the value of the Bizness, land and Building at over #60m)which i run with my mum.

In Addition to this, i have bought 3 Cars, about 20 computers(from Ebay) and phones which i have sent to Nigeria, (all recepts intact)

PLs what are your advise? my friend here intends to send me invitation letter, do i need any other document from him apart from this?

Also if i do go to book for appointment and interview say next month,Is it going to take long for interview to be conducted?,
PLS UR ADVISE IS IMPORTANT, , Thanks
First, visit www.ustraveldocs.com/ng .Its a tricky one.the fact that you have visited the US without overstaying is a plus but the fact that you are single is a negative. If he is sponsoring you,you will need his pay stubs etc .Now,do you have a good job in Nigeria? This might be critical in deciding whether or not you will be issued with visa.

@Gbenge77, thanks for expatiating more on this. I have pass the information across, but He already has a fiancee there shall, so hopefully that would help. Thanks for your time again.
if his fiancee is an American, she  should have filed a petition for a k1 visa on his behalf.see this link http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types-2994.html   .that  would enable them to get married within 90 days of arrival in the US

@Gbenge77 thanks for your urgent reply, but they told me it was a B1/B2 Visa, and what do you mean by the INS asking the right Questions? You can drop me your email if it's not comfortable for you to write more about this on the forum here. Thanks Sir
its generally issued as a b1/b2 visa, but at the port of entry,a cbp officer would class you into a b2 category.B1 is strictly a business related visa. Now,i already made it clear that you cant work with a B2,so,what are your plans?

Gbenge77, Thank you for your positive contributions to other ppls posting on here. I want to ask you a question regarding settling down in the States,  How can a person who enters the US with visiting visa have a residence or work permit? If you understand what I mean. Thanks, as I await your kind response.
a b1 visa(business)could be converted to an h1 b visa in which case an employer is able to file for you sixty days after entering the US.The USCIS might suspect foul play if the filing is done earlier. Of course you  are not able to secure work permit or permanent residence(green card) with a b2 visa(visitors) unless you get married to an American citizen.Even at that, you will have to hope that the INS dont ask the right questions.Clear?

that is my worry, though i have not tried it, any personal experience or law to support that? embarassed
since you are a permanent resident,it is assumed your wife will join you at some point in time, which means she has an immigrant intent. If she decides to travel to the US at this time, she will have to apply for an non immigrant visa, and under us laws, you have to prove your non immigrant intent before being issued a visa.so,it is assumed she intends to immigrate permanently to the US,under the pretext of a non immigrant visa.Your best bet is to wait until you become a citizen, which means she can join you immediately under the (immediate family category),and she would not have to join a waiting list.
