PoliticsRe: President Tinubu Renames University Of Maiduguri After Muhammadu Buhari by GboyegaD(m): 7:43pm On Jul 17, 2025
This president of ours is so obsessed with naming national monuments after individuals for selfish gains. Is the university not funded by public funds? Why rename it after an individual?

If she is denied one category based on gross misrepresentation or obvious fraud eg counterfeit POF or impersonation they will cancel the other.
If she chooses to misrepresent herself, should she have any visa at first.

My parents never lived with me, my wife is the only girl, close to her mom who is single so, she believed she always had to be attached to my wife.

She tried to impose her rules and way of life on me in my house. Tried to spank my children in Canada which is directly against my style of child training.

She is with her daughter gifting more than 95% of the time and I Beverly had access to my wife in my home. She would be on the phone gossiping about my family secrets to other people outside our home. She is a rabid Trump supporter and lived to create controversies.

Even fought with her daughter in my home, my wife had to call me from the car as she could not stay at home.

All in all, it was my mistake for allowing her to stay in the first place so, I have myself to blame in hindsight.
Wow... It is well.

Thank you, sir. If my tuition fee is waived, I'll receive a monthly stipend, and my health insurance will be covered, resulting in a $0.00 deficit on my I-20, will this status change if I plan to live in a city with a higher cost of living? Will that be factored into the calculation? Thank you for your response, and God bless you.
That's not how it works. The department/graduate school has the amount they give in stipend however; International Student Office have a way of calculating your tuition with estimated cost of living. Don't over stress this issue.

Hello all, please I have five year B1/ B2 visa.. I have an F1 appointment in a few days for Bachelors in public health degree. I have a deficit of 31000 and my sponsors are my parents.i have no relatives in the US. My worry is that they may cancel my B1/ B2 if they do not give me a student visa. I am very worried
Kindly advice
They are independent of each other. People have different categories of visa and none negates the other. You just have to make sure that while you are a student you make sure you enter on your F1 status. If you are denied one category, it doesn't cancel the other.

I wonder how these people reason as if the man was held at gun point in the marriage. I was in a similar position, living a MIL for about 8 years and we would argue and clash terribly to the extent of exchanging blows, I told my wife she had to chose between our marriage or her mother. I was going to walk away without looking back if the mom continued to stay with us.

No way I was going to commit murder and lose my freedom because of conflict with the MIL.
You mind me asking why you guys will argue in your own house? Aren't our parents bind by our rules when they visit our homes?

Guess you are trying to make light of his situation. While he was a free man, he could have walked out of the marriage and be free indeed but now, he's lost his freedom at least for a few years if he gets a good lawyer or for life if he doesn't get a good plea deal. I feel for him and his loved ones though.

Even people sending money home from abroad are people with hand work mostly and tech guys buh all this PhD and masters people will start telling you the story of there life...

If anyone with handy work is having loan most time is either for there house mortgage cars things they buy for them selfs or family...
You should have a source you are getting the information from. Why not share instead of being emotional about it.

Lol I don't have problem with anybody employing anybody...

But people attributing the poor economy to who's employing them is what I don't understand...

In the West there are Alot of uneducated folks employing people with first class...

If you can't think outside the box then you should be ready to apply for any available job so you don't turn to beggar...

Head to head sef a Carpenter, Plumber, Truck driver, electricians even Vulganizers makes more money than PHD and MSC holder in the West so all this noise about education is what I don't get..

we attribute education to everything in this part of the world.. that once you're educated you must have sense, you must make it, you must not suffer mk everybody Dey play.....
Where did you get this statistics from? This is a very loose comment.

Nnamdipapa:
@GboyegaD,

I totally agree with you, but to an average Nigerian moving abroad, we always get overwhelmed with the abundance of opportunities to improve ourselves presented by the host country like the US, opportunities we never experienced in Nigeria, and we are surprised why the average BAs are complaining or not taking advantage of such opportunities.

In Canada, for example, most of us who came in bought our first houses within the first two years, went to school on top of the education we already had, and we try our very best to succeed instead of complaining about the past. This is the POV from which the average AA tends to look at the BAs as being lazy and entitled.

Some AAs claimed the worst discrimination they experienced was not from whites, but from the BAs.
I think the divide is not as bad as it was a decade ago. We all are in the learning process and both sides have their excesses. You need to see how condescending we can be of them many times and vice versa.
FamilyRe: How factual is the concept - Foundational Black Americans by GboyegaD(m): 9:53pm On Jul 15, 2025
You know the discrimination between African Americans and other blacks who migrated is very funny. I see it as a two-way street. In the Nigerian circle for example, we are quick to condemn them and even blame them for trying to blame others for their predicaments. We say things like they were born free men so why do they feel America owes them. We do not think about the various abuse they have been through. Some through the stories passed down over generations and some, witnessed by themselves. Until a few decades ago, their opportunities were very limited, and they lacked parental love/role models. For most of the black kids I knew in school, their fathers and many other male role models they could have had were absent, and their mothers did not do any better. Hopefully, as we evolve more, we will find reasons to be more united and take away every form of division from amidst us.

Another question is, how do people get pushed to the wall that they respond with violence against even their supposed loved ones.

If only mama kept her nose out of her daughter’s marriage huh
But we are not sure why he attacked the mother-in-law. There is the possibility of she trying to be a peacemaker amongst other positive and negative possibilities.

Fearurcreeator:
He was in jail before with the mother inlaw. The new jail he is going is still better . Only if you understand. That gender turn people to monsters
What makes the new jail better? He is cut out of family, friends, and even life to a very great extent. There's nothing as good as having freedom. Whatever the cause of the trouble is, madam will walk freely while he is incarcerated.

FUNDING and Emotions are not the same. Requirements are there—it's left for the applicant to fulfill.
There are schools who give students funding without the GRE despite a few others writing the exams. There are many things that goes into funding decision and in his case, he is already working on relationships that could help him waive GRE if he has a very good undergraduate performance. You can tell he's making very solid plans for his future and if you cannot encourage him, you don't have to discourage him. Not everyone will go through same route.

@poormanpikin, you are doing very well for yourself. Keep up the good work.

Is this a year program or two? If a year, it might fly however, if more than a year, you mean you have $50000 (~N80MM) you can throw away for school considering the Nigerian economy? This is part of the way a VO reasons, so you need be able to convince your interviewer why the investment is truly worth it.

They don't go to school to learn to be a dumb or can't be a creative enterprise by themselves only waiting for govt to provide jobs for them. We should even be applauding the boy for giving them a job with a good salary to take them off the street and make a good earns to start a life or even build themselves to be better than the illiterate Peller we are mocking. Let's praise the boy trying to give them a meaningful life our of the little he's making via the beneficiary platform our colonial master created for us to make ends meets.
This is the worst comment I have ever read. Not everyone is designed for business. Not everyone has the capacity for risk and they are best at promoting whatever it is they work on. As such, degree is not the basis of launching into business.
