buckeyemedia: All it takes is the courage to come out, if Seyi Tinubu throws his hat in the ring, he will win with a landslide victory? Na so them doubt em papa, The Tinubus, like the Trumps, Clintons, they never say no to power. Papa former Senator, & Governor, now President, Mama former Senator, pikin future Governor. Tinubu no be small name for Lagos State o, even before the emergence of Bola Tinubu aka Jagaban 1 of The Universe. It is a dynasty in the progression of time. If he wins, we all know it is not about good name but rigging. He doesn't have the slightest weight whatsoever to win governorship of Lagos. Nigerians have being mortgaging the future of the unborn generation since time immemorial due to the culture where some have being made to believe they are slaves and inferior to others. Thus, I wouldn't be surprised if out of the usual greed people vote for such a person because of a day dinner. The most impressive part is when this folks talk about Esau in a derogatory manner forgetting that Esau was ignorant and this generation that should know better just decided to be stupid. |

The current indices are very bad that I am convinced a demographic health survey will highlight "kwashiorkor" becoming prevalent in Nigeria. The worst is those in the middle age care less and are busy fighting each other on religious and ethnic grounds. Many can't fend for themselves yet, for likes of their post and the paltry sum they are paid, they defend their leaders who keep looting them and subjecting them to further poverty. |

histemple: What has Yahaya Bello handled before becoming Kogi state Governor? What was the outcome of his eight years of reign? Shouldn't that serve as an example that responsibilities should only be given to those who are prepared for it? Good governance isn't achieved by wishes as can be seen in the current day Nigeria. |

Everyone knows Seyi isn't fit. What has he handled in his lifetime? What skills has he? Unfortunately, our greed most times have been exploited by our politicians and for that reason, one can't rule out his vying for the post. |

brain54: Reason I always talk about sexual compatibility in relationships...
God forbid marrying a person that will frustrate someone sexually.
It seems so demeaning to feel unwanted by your partner that you have to beg always.
Some people won't understand what the op is going through... They will conclude "after all it's just sex."
But it's more than that! You haven't heard of guys whose wives were very compatible and were more than active before marriage and the women change in marriage? I think it is the challenge in Nigeria where women think they are doing the man favor whenever they allow the man his conjugal rights. May men marry the right woman who understands marriage. |

If you finished with a reasonable grade, have very good math skills (or can learn without being frustrated in the face of hardship), and you are willing to write GRE and TOEFL, you could try to pursue graduate studies in the US preferably at the PhD level as there are more funds at that level compared to Masters. In all you do, please avoid travel agents like they are plagues. They will leave you worse than when they met you with their unrealistic promises. |

Shueld06: So if he say the father has travelled to the US twice and the UK 3 times, that tells the VO the father is capable of paying the fee? Ahaha, these are just cases where I say “Lol” VO deny visa for anything..but this reason is so extraneous to discard its possibility.
The truth is if you don’t have funding, they don’t trust your word but they approve some people even at that and they deny some people. They know 80% of the time, your parent don’t have the money u claim they have store somewhere..but they approve and they deny..it’s all just hinged on the VO’s disposition.
This guy can go to the embassy tomorrow and say the same thing and get approved. He can say the same thing and still get denied. The best he can do is to review his case himself, try and get funding if possible, and if you can’t get funding, let your case be convincing especially when it concerns who’s paying ur fee and how they’re going to pay that That the father has traveled has no bearing on the outcome however, it could help the VO drop his/her guard a bit as she still need tie everything the applicant say to reach a conclusion. |

Shueld06: You know what’s funny? The VO won’t do this. And if they do, you’re telling me it’s easy to link me with Ajanlekoko Tade who applied for a visa 3yrs ago and didn’t come back just cuz my surname is Ajanlekoko, and we seem to enter the same maiden name and parent date of birth in the DS-160?
If the VO do that, he/she is simply discarding the million of different permutations of names that’s possible for each applicant that’s ever applied for a US visa in the world —not just Nigeria. I’ve seen at least 5 people on Facebook that has the same name as me. And it’s easy to google search and find a name just like anyone else here and that name is linked with a crime, and it’s not just you.
The case here is that we overestimated and overemphasised these things In this age and time, it is the easiest thing to do. A fuzzy match coupled with a logistic regression would generate plausible relationships. If such is done, it will be at no effort. Besides, why do you think it takes some time to print out visas for some and others very quick? It might not be everyone that is investigated but I am sure, there are some investigations that go on. |

yinkhar: Please leave them! I await their arrival from the interview. The ones claiming they know better by ditching useless advice won’t provide help when the time comes. The main reason I see in that denial was funding but since they are all claiming he should go fill another interview without addressing that instead he should go claim his sister that stayed behind in US. Goodluck to them!!!
If you all take time to read past years on this thread, you will learn your lesson on why you should focus on funding as your number one priority and know that no VO has ridiculous information of linking your siblings with you unless you want to put yourself in that difficult situation.
Ire o I am sure no one has claimed to be the plethora of knowledge/advice however, I find it funny when you try discount the opinion of others. It is a platform, share your opinion and leave others to share theirs. It is left for each reader to pick what they think work best for them. |
Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by GboyegaD(m): 7:01pm On Nov 18, 2024 |
Shueld06: The VO’s question about the father travelling history was just random. That’s not the reason he was denied. Ahaha that sound so ridiculous. How does my father’s travelling history has anything to do with mine? Must my parent travel? My father probably never even know nor see what a visa look like before in his life neither did he even have interest in one, and he lived his life satisfactorily!
The OP could be denied for so many reasons— the VO could have doubt about being able to pay like they doubt just about everyone else without funding. If you’ve visited a US embassy before, you’ll understand. They can even randomly deny a PhD student with full funding and who sounds very convincing of his purpose Let me help you a bit, mind you this is my perspective. A potential student says the father can afford $36k USD per year for 2 years ($72k in total). At $1/N1600, this is about N115million. In the past, a small business owner could afford to pay the equivalent of $72k as it wasn't much however, in recent times, whoever can afford to pay such has to be a business owner that is doing well, considering the state of the economy. Asking if the father has ever traveled out is a way of measuring the kind of business the father owns to fund the program. Think through this from the position of a VO and tell me what you would do if you were a VO. The current situation of the country has put us at a disadvantage whether we like it or not. Now, there's more of luck/grace in getting a visa than your intention particularly if you are not funded or on a scholarship. |

Shueld06: Yall should stop being this way for once!
Mobil567, this is also for you
How will a VO be so sure someone who got a visa 10yrs ago is your family member when the said individual didn’t mention ur full name nor upload your picture? Even if they mention ur full name, the CLASS system the embassy uses isn’t able to match these things and the embassy do not even care. How can the VO match these things? Just how? Just like someone said everyone in the US is being monitored in their room and the government is watching what everyone is doing in their room and that’s why he can’t offer immigration advice on call or chat cuz the government in the US see all things.. you see how that sounds ridiculous? Yeah the same way your assertion sounds
(2) mentioning you have a family member: here’s what’s going to happen.. the VO will want to know more and ask you how they got to the US and when,, they’ll know it they’ve overstayed or not or they can simply search their name in the CLASS system.. if they overstay their visa or they now get green card in some ways, the VO can judge you using that or they might not., it’s a two way thing.. that’s why some people just advise not to
This individual was denied for other reasons. Sometimes you even get denied for no reason at all! What makes it difficult to find if you have an immediate family member in the US? You supply your parent's name, date of birth, and mother's maiden name. It is unique to a large extent to tag applications. |

Reminds me of when I first heard of my Senior Secondary School set reunion. The friend who gisted me said the group they were trying to start became dead on arrival as the organizers only came to show off. The group was reactivated a few years ago and it's being stable. The reason in my opinion is because everyone is now at an equilibrium so no one is bothered about who is more successful or otherwise. |
