Pls any idea for possible replacement for this bosch plugs from my benz W202 C230K, bosch-F7KTCR germany.885 R1.

own that same year model of car for about a year, the best I ever did was abt 182km/h and the car was shaking like the world was coming to an end.

boss u ryt abt this family thing, got married a month ago and every time I drive the thots of my beautiful wife comes 2 mind and its been hard 2 do 200km/h since then. Dnt plan on making her a 25yr old widow.all I wanna do is arrive home safely.

@ 19mpg that means am geting 7.6km/l? For a 13yr old merc I say not bad. Like siena sad if u enjoy ur car fuel consuption is not an issue. Honestly that's my reason for getn this car cos I traded my 2004 honda accord EX for this car with no regrets. I luv the thrust, the comfort and most importantly the high speed( once did 237km/h on a streach from kaduna to abuja) which will take a honda all week 2 get to dat speed.

yungboss: with 67litres on 336miles, i think that's approximately 19mpg you managed, well not too bad (though a little thirsty), considering our type of fuel and the age of your car. In my 1993 6cyl BMW though 2.0l engine, in good condition,i get up to 23mpg on about 190km(~118miles) interstate...thats using about 19.3litres for 118miles. Comparing with yours, given same condition, i'll be using ~55litres on 336miles

tnx youngboss, to the best of my knowledge my car is in best of condition cos lately have fix all issue that cos the check engine lights to come on. The one issue I have is geting thesame bosch mercedes spark plugs that came with the car as replacement. And sometimes I fill my drive style is responsible for the consumption cos I rly crank this baby 2 the limit somtime.

@ siena, I drive a 2000 W202 C230 kompressor. The manufacturer claimed fuel tank capacity is 62liters. But it takes abt 65 to 67 to fill up. And once on a journey from kaduna to maiduguri I did 336mile on a full tank so wats my consumption? Please, good or bad?

Those E36 coupe are the best of the 3-series and the only ones close 2 the M3. Was looking for a good condition 325i of 328i coupe but cld not find one so I ended up with a 2000 model W202 C230kompressor. But I still got that shark machine (E36 coupe) on my reda.

Abeg I have a 2000 W202 C230 kompressor ever since I changed the original benz plugs cnt find a similar replacement. Which NKG will be suitable for my car?

here's wat I found out. C180K(141hp, 220nm of torque) vs C240(170hp, 240nm of torque). Based on my small knowledge of cars its the torque that accelerate a car while horse power takes it 2 topspeed. But with the added S/C is deffinately an added advantage for the C180K and if it cost less then its a sure bergain.

not so sure abt that, I drive a W202 C230k and most times its hard for even W203's to run away from me but am not 100perct sure a C180K will out gun a C240.

In my 95 c180 i use 17 litres of fuel from Calabar to PH, in a 4 hrs drive




Don't forget the tensioner pulley and the alternator.It will have to break one day due to it age or mileage

thats like 2k fuel for 4hrs. not bad for old boy!!

just make sure the check engine lights are not on when the car is running. if so ask for a better deal say about 750-800k

@tommysparks, are u saying that your w203 c180k is more powerful than c240?

Eyop: Thanks bros for the detail explanation about the ride and for trying to make me understand that the Kompressors can be fixed here at no cost. Well any of them is still good and fine for me but an average Nigerian will prefer a ride with good MPG myself inclusive. I am a traveler and most times i will be travelling with the car when i get it and it's not just a short distance but at-least like 8hrs trip(Lagos to Abuja,Lagos to Uyo). I asked a fellow nairaland that owns the 2005 C230 kompressor about the car handling and he says it is fantastic and he has not experienced any issues since he bought it almost 2 years now but all he does is to do the normal service because the ride tells you when it is due for service and he gets his parts directly from the United States.

He confirms that Kompressor is delightfully noisy compared to the 2006 C230 which is the naturally aspirated engine that is quiet(that's what i need to understand). That's what i do not understand by him saying "delightfully noisy" even though he's not the only one that has mentioned that but i got same information on Benz USA forum when they were comparing the both cars. I have never driven a Kompressor and as such cannot know the issue of being delightfully noisy. Is there any regular car that you can compare to this? Also are you trying to tell me that the 2005 C230 1.8L Kompressor will be faster than the 2006 C230 2.5L V6 engine? So are you trying to tell me that the sound of CLS 350 is like that of a Kompressor because you listed some cars and SLS,CLS inclusive.

If i see a Kompressor that is super clean than the 2006 C230 i will gladly pick that one. Another thing to consider now is the bad roads because it seems like the C230 is low to the ground level. My brother C230 is a fantastic ride and have always love the car. When i was travelling to Abuja by April with a 2007 Toyota Matrix XR at a speed of 160 the w203 C230 passed me like child's play and all effort to meet up proved abortive. The guy that was with me warned me seriously not to try it or i burst my engine . I just want to know when people keep saying delightfully noisy can you be more explanatory on this please? Also the 2005 C230 Kompressor is 1.8L while the 2006 C230 is 2.5L,does it mean that weight of the 2006 is more than the 2005? Just need some clarifications here bros. Thanks

the 1.8 or 2.5L has nothing 2 do with the car weight its just the cubic liter capacity of the engine. Since the 230K has small 1.8L hence the need 2 bolt a supercharger(kompressor) to it 2 give it a similar performance as to the 2006 C230 naturally aspirated. And about ur 160km/h matrix chasing a W203, bro 4get it cos even my W202 C230Kompressor can easy hit 230km/h on a streach from kaduna 2 abuja without trying 2 hard. About the engine sound, its a hum dat tells u the car wants 2 be driven hard its not noise its simply loud sweet music. The bottom line is these kompressor engine are simply meant 2 be driven hard and loud.

on my car manual it states 62liters but most times it takes abt 65 to 67 liters 2 fill up.

Guys in the house, i want to transplant a Kompressor engine into my 95 c180. I understand the fact that i'll need to match it with its corresponding ECU that has the equivalent chip in it; i also understand that it is a longterm wear item; i need to know the dynamics ; the precaution and the cheapest but effective way i could go about these project.

Alternatively, can i instead install the supercharger to this present engine to work.

have been dreaming of a similar project, mine is 2 dump a CLK 430 V8 block into my W202 C230k but my mech seems not ready 4 such adventure. Hanson about your project I'll feed u back about the ECU this week and let u know the cost.

My pple abeg pls make unna help me rate this fuel consuption level. I drivr a W202 C230kompressor, traveled recently and I did 339miles/542.4km on 1 tank of fuel mostly highway and some slight annoying checkpoints. Pls I need 2 know if my consumption is normal or outregious?

seriously its back, and believe it or not it cost jst #400 bucks for the bad chip in the ECU. Infact it was so easy that my mech no even charge me for labour.

honestly and it only cost a #400 replaced mosfet chip in the ECU.

2day I visit my mechanic and with help from all I hav learnt from the internet, all 9 (P1584,P0136,P0410,P0000,B3AF2,C3800,P1235,P1236,P0100)error code that has been the course of my check engine light and ESP/BAS light was solved for almost no cost. My super charger that has always been on engage now only engage when I rev it up 2 abt 2500 to 3000 rpm. Wat a great day. All thanks 2 ideas shared on line cos I personal bought the little parts needed 2 solve all this issue myself from experience pple have posted online. This our forum is rly a gud place 2 be. Tnx 2 u all.

Guys check this funny stuff out. Met a friend sometimes back after a long time we greeted and when he saw my car(W202 C230k) he said 2 me him and his friend once had an engine of my car for sale but it was so hard 2 find a buyer. When they eventuall found a mechanic 2 buy it @ a rip off price he said its because most of the cars hardly require replacement. Long story short is that most merc engines are bullet proff and I once read a post of a guy who has driven his C230K for about 500000mile. So guys enjoy ur ride till u feel the need to upgrade.

bong4: Guys i have been driving my benz for 4 years now. But right now the problem i am having is in the transmission. It is automatic. It drags too much and the RPM goes up to 35 or even 40 before the gear changes as i have to press the throttle down to effect the gear change. I have changed the gear box and even ringed the engine yet it does the same thing. If not that i loved this very brand of benz for its ruggedity and stability on the road. it would have been history. Please can someone help me out with this transmission challenge. One Love.

guy u no tell us wic kind of benz u dey drive. Then the changing of gear box was a hasty decision. U should have hav ur car diagonised by a professional first. It could be a bad trottle body, bad MAF sensor, bad supercharger or even spark plug.

I drive a W202 C230k, from kaduna 2 abuja along that Alheri camp road I did 237km/h. Am quite confident on a free road will hit 250km/h.

guy putting big rims na jst fashion all u need is high profile tire and for ur suspension to be checked. My C230K drives on 15" rims and I don't have problem with bumbs of 'gutter' holes. Trust me u'l look like a rapper wanna be in a 20" accord.

Na wa ooh be like say unna no dey go anywere with unna car sef I got a W202 C230k and I cld cover 10k miles in abt 4 months. And I use mobile 1 on it, for the age of the car I think its 20K miles or 1 year which ever comes 1st but since I do a lot of traveling I change every 10k miles.

otoidea: how often does one have to top the radiator on a 2004 mercedes benz c240? i used to have a handa EOD and id check the water every morning to find it still full.. maybe needing a top up once a week or once in two weeks. the merc has been a different story i have to top every day or every 2 days.. is this normal? and there is no leak anywhere iv changed the water container which had a leak.

ur car is got issue cos I bought my c230K since september last year and truthfully I have only top that water once and have never had any over heating issue.

Eyop: The Mercedes Benz gurus in the house i need your advice between the 2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor and the 2006 Mercedes C230. Which of the 2 mentioned cars above is very OK in terms of handling and maintenance? What problems should one be looking at when using it? And in conclusion recommend the best.

I drive a 2000 C230 kompressor, from my little experience I'll suggest u go 4 the naturally asperated 2006 C230 which I bliv is a V6 so u dnt have 2 bother urselfe with turbo charging issues of the C230K.aside the brake disc and pad then maybe Mass air flow meter for the C230K both cars are not heavy cost 2 maint. Pls just make sure u dnt buy a car with check engine lights ON or ESP/BAS. Make sure its fault free there's no such things as a small fault in this german machines. But honestly with each year go by the quality of mercedes built keeps droping. My over 20yrs W202 car still has its leather covering as if it was made 2 weeks ago both some of this W204 hav seats that's I worn out already I guess its profit b4 quality now.
