Fajzay: Its possible. Very very. Have got pals who call themselves 200+ king of the road. Meaning they do achieve over 200KM/hr going to the north regularly. The highest have don wiv my Benz S-class (V8) on Abuja road is 190km/hr even though it can still attain 260km/hr and I did a 195km/hr on my MDX driving along that Ife-Ilesha expressway en-route Akure

Will love to invite u guys for a weekend in kaduna as soon as my pocket rest so I fit handle unna fuel and hotel accomodation. Till then..........

Bro nice piece there, this ur 5hrs 12mins for over 700km was hell quick. From kaduna 2 maiduguri due to checkpoint and bad road sections it takes abt 8 to 9hrs.

There are speed limits on sections of the German Autobahn. However, some of these limits are time and traffic flow dependent. Sometimes, speed limits are imposed as a measure against noise pollution to neighbouring residential communites.

Also, kown accident prone spots are speed restricted, and are periodically radar trapped to catch violators. yours truly has lost his drivers license for 60 days and paid 370 Euros in fines.

As the Autobahn continues to be reconstructed and modernised, the information system has become electronic and online, so speed limits are mostly imposed or lifted based on the flow of traffic.

That said, a lage portion of the Autobahn continue to remain speed restriction free and a blessing to experienced speed warriors such as yours truly.

Munich - Hamburg, 795km in 5 hours and 12 minutes (at night) will make you feel like michael schumacher on steroids.

Note this, Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche and VW, will not build the vehicles we know them for today if the Autobahn did not exist.

Its a good car, its bcome a transport favourite for pple traveling from kaduna to maiduguri. But have also seen a lot of accidented one's along the road due to speed and overloading.

As for the GTR, you're comparing a 2012 car with one that was first produced in 2002. I would use a current Audi model. The current Audi RS3 which is based upon a humble Audi A3 is quicker than the GTR, despite having less power. Audi have quoted 4.9 for the 0-62 mph dash, but so far, those figures are conservative. Because times of 3.9 - 4.2 seconds have been achieved by Topgear, Driven, 5th Gear and a whole bunch of motoring magazines.

Besides the Nissan GTR, Mitsubishi Evo, Older Supra there aren't any seriously quick Japmobiles, definitely none in the Superminin, medium to large family sedan range. Unlike Audi who produce seriously fast cars, from the smallest hatch to the full-size family sedan, then of course the Supercars - Audi R8, which I wouldn't class as slow.

2000 W202 C230 kompressor; bought her last year october,with about 154000miles and as at this week we are geting close to about 187000 miles.ever since I replaced a blown mosfet in the ECU all the car problems jst seemed to go away. No any sorth of check lights on. The car feels great and still kicking. Hoping to put some more miles on her then sell her off by december and move on to hopefully any german with no less than 300 bhp.

The coollant I used is total coolant which I bought from their filing station.my point abt the fuel economy is that the coolant is the only recent change I have done to the car lately. So I was jst wondring if it has anything to do with it.because for models of my car(W202 C230K) engine tempt has effect on performance and also fuel comsumption. For example early morning when the temp is low the engine rev longer before the gear change so as to get the engine to normal operating temp. And longer rev could burn up more gas.about the coollant its specicied on it that its hotter regions.

aikerism: Uncle Gee what radiator coollant are you refering to? And house how does the collant affect the fuel consumption? I really wanna know.

just like eyop rightly said, the c230 Kompressor can never be a 6 cylinder engine but rather a 1.8 litre 4 cylinder engine that houses a 16 inline valves, I4 that is capable of producing 189 horsepower at 5800 RPM that could achieve 23mpg in city driving and 31 mpg on the highway(very good economy and performance for a 4 cylinder engine,whereas 1995 c280 naturally aspirated 6 cylinder 2.8litre engine,I6 produces 195 horsepower at 195 rpm with economy of 20/26 city and h/w driving respectively)

Benz is Benz whether America or US, they dont mix standard but just some varied specifications as in features by Americans or anywhere else

nice clerification there. I took ur advice abt that rdiator coolant and since then I have notice a great differnce with the fuel consumption.due to the rain down here most times it takes quit a while for the temp guage to get to 80-90, but as the drive goes on it eventually does. But the biggest plus is I filled up the tank at 64litrs a week ago and now at 1/2 way I have done abt 204miles which I consider fair since its mostly city driving. Its a rly serious improvement compare to what I get b4.

watched an episode of 5th gear abt fuel saving aditives. ... an the result shows that all this things dont add any gain to ur pocket or performance.

So here are some sneak preview pix. Interior still needs a bit of cleaning up and fixing that nasty sagging roof lining. Also it turns out I got the wrong set of used 18" alloy rims (Came from an Infiniti G35). It did kinda 'fit' but the tire bolts wouldn't go in straight-Different PCDs (5 x 112 for the Audi vs 5 x 114 for the new rims) (I didn't notice that though-had to do a lot of background research-combination of internet wheel forums, and my Expert friends, the Auto Engineer and Siena). End result was a quite wobbly ride.
Also the diameter of the hole (Centerbore) of the new rims were slightly bigger than mine-I measured about 66mm for the new rims while the original rims were 57mm.
Bottom line is that I am returning these wheels and getting another set of wheels from Lagos.
Ko easy...

Also had to order for the complete front arms kit (which includes Ball joints , stabilizer linkages etc) and also the outer CV joints (Both fronts)

Once the front suspension parts and new Rims arrive, I'll have them fitted, and then she goes in for a respray...

boss I know what ur talking about, mine is a 2000 W202 C230 kompressor. Honestly they cost wey much down here in kaduna cos they are reliable power packed. I sold my 2004 honda accord (EOD) to buy it. Most chaps dat travel a lot down north here either buy it or a 406. If u'll send me ur mail I'll mail u the pics.

yungboss: C43 is rare...the '99 W202 C280 is fair, you can get a nice one for a mill. But the performance is under-par among its rivals.

hmmm, C280 for 1mill that's a give away. Last year october I paid 1.3mil for my 99 W202 C230 kompressor in kaduna. Very clean all through and at now still will find it hard to sell at 1mill.

tommysparks: @matson, there is a wrong connection with your fuel sender did u change your fuel filter or pump and if u are in abuja I will direct you to someone that can fix it. And I want to ask if I can use carburetor spray to wash my airflow meter I just had it changed and on travelling from abuja to jigawa d car started idling rough and wants to go off before picking up on acceleration and occassionally goes off when I stop at a traffic light which I have to restart.

pls dnt use carburator cleaner to clean ur MAF oooh. U need a CRC MAF cleaner. Looked for it in kaduna could not find it until a friend in Miami had to send it for me it realy works when the MAF is not completely dead. Just google CRC maf cleaner u'll c it. Best at it.

platinumricky: the W202 C180 has lethargic performance, my take:a 97-2000 C280 with the AMG sport pack, they look stunning, especially in silver/ash.

who go sell c280 with amg sport package for u @ 1mil. we are working on a budget here if not will have have suggested a c43 amg.

Changed my front grill.

Replaced my power steering and brake fluid 2day with oem fluid. So far have noticed slight differnce on the brake feel. Did nt cost much, each 1 liter cost #2000.

2 ladys asked me out b4 and honestly nothing good came out of it cos I found it so hard 2 comit my emotions to such a relationship. But there's nothing wrong for a lady to put herself in a position to be wanted by a guy but am not comfortable with ladys doing the asking.

Dated my then girlfriend for abt 3yrs and never messed around with any1 else, now we are married tho its jst 2 months now I still plan to keep the relatioship the way it was even b4 we settle. So God help me.

I changed the airfilter first thing this morning and did a lot of walker about , hits 63.7 miles today with 14.43 litres of fuel and achieved 16.7MPG(if i were to use uk gallons, i would hav had 21MPG). I have also bought a new exhaust pipe which am gonna change tomorrow first thing, and observe it again over the week

The filter and the lacquer thinner of that first day did the magic, the handling is awesome now than ever. From all these indication, i can derive that my car was really bad at terrible hold-ups but good at free traffic and freeways, but today she is also good at terrible hold up too. I am expecting a better performance after i would have changed the exhaust tommorrow to brand new oem exhaust(with its catalytic converters in place). i am greatful to this thread ,else i wouldnt have known the situation of my car mpg, hurray to you guys! Thanks to you all

from a construction stand point is it thesame thinner we use for painting? And were u get OEM exhaust from?

Some time this whole fuel consumption thing can all go down to ones driving style. There times I drive my car like a formula 1 driver, flooring the pedal often for no reason on such cases my gas consumption is very poor. For instance when I travel from kaduna to maiduguri I rev my car so hard its hard for a car to go pass me all in an effort to beat time due to the multiple check point on that axis and I end up using almost 130ltr for a trip of abt 800km and it bad cos at most I shld use jst abt 90ltr. But in town on days I put my car in 'W' mode and drive like a 'grandpa' I get a very good gas savings. But on days am feeling lucky and 'pocket bold' I jst hit the 'S' sport button and all hell let lose!!!!!!!.

chyndorek: pls help my 2001 mercedes c200 kompressor consumes alot of petrol. While driving, it displays between 29 - 40 L/100Km. The main thing is it doesnt produce black smoke and it runs fine. Pls help me

check your spark plugs and the emmision system. Cos I get about 16L/100km on my 2000 C230 kompressor.
