I won't be surprised if Osun State becomes the second biggest economy in Nigeria in less than 3yrs. Already for last year, it had one if the highest GDPs in the country Well done Aregbe
|
Lagos owes 22.8 times more than Anambra but has an IGR that is 25 times more than Anambra and you're telling me that Lagos is more leveraged than Amambra? Get a life |
All thanks to economies of Osun, Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Oyo and Kaduna which have shown steady rise in their GDPs despite the huge dip in oil GDP which has continued to decline following the unprecedented theft witnessed in recent times |
Why am I not surprised? Another four years will come and go and as usual nothing will happen The people will run to other states and when they are returned home, the governors will run to the Press to score cheap political points |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk1aPBazfjo This guy speaks better Yoruba than me and there are so many of his type I've always loved the language. It is very dynamic and the culture of the Yoruba is about one of the richest in the world It's a language and culture currently in the curriculum of a number if schools in Euprope and America God bless the Yoruba race |
Why are Nigerian military personnel always like this? Chasing an ambulance that came to evacuate the corpse They always go about their business like they are superior to the rest of us You need to see the way they drive recklessly against traffic and on BRT lanes. Even the governor of Lagos State doesn't drive around in a siren but every Major in the NA wants to drive in a convoy of ten cars blaring horns and sirens at everyone else In other climes, the military are the ones in the vanguard of development with intelligent officers that come up with engineering and scientific solutions to help better society. What stops them from executing a research in traffic management or coming up with a scientific solution for security management, or even being the ones to respond in disaster areas with their own ambulances, helicopters and fire trucks. I'm sure if a LASTMA official had tried stopping the soldier from riding on the bridge, he would have created a scene and got his fellow men-in-green-lynching-for-no-reason-accomplices, to beat them blue |
Igbo Delta: Flood is a big issue in south west. The governors needs to be proactiveThe last major flooding we had got Onitsha submerged The landlocked SE zone has a landmass almost the size of Oyo As if that is not bad enough, half of the land is erosion ravaged |
Kamanda: I support GEJ!There will be a minimum of five countries if there should be a referendum around that today The SS already knows the reason why you so badly wanna associate with them is their oyel and they are wiser now than they were about forty years ago |
Using the word 'divide' always make it sound like a violent balkanization in the offing I would rather the 'division' happens after we conduct a referendum and to the future of the country as nothing else has worked However, I see a minimum of five countries if balkanizing the country is he way to go, from my interactions with people The Republic of Oduduwa The Republic of the Niger Delta The Republic of Biafra The Arewa Republic The Republic of Central Nigeria |
He has the right to run but he's a major let down and I will never vote for him again. Not now or ever. He's not managed the country's resources judiciously and corruption is at an all time high Insecurity is at its peak and all he keeps focusing on is how to extend his stay in an office he knows nothing about managing Under him, I've heard the most ridiculous statements from his mouth and from those that surround him |
My question is always - what will be the composition of a SNC? Will it be based on LGAs or tribes? If you say LGAs, the north have more but if you say tribes, the question will now be if the Urhobos/Isokos will be regarded as separate tribes or he Ijebu/Egba as distinct tribes. Another question that will be raised is how why the Tiv tribe should have the same number of representatives as the Fulanis who are clearly more I believe there are more tribes in northern Nigeria than southern Nigeria but whatever the case may be, if a SNC holds, the country will never be the same again and I hope whatever the issues are, they should be subjected to a referendum conducted by the UN. Today, if we choose to have a referendum on resolutions of a SNC, I will vote for a Republic of Oduduwa. A country that could have been Africa's biggest economy today, if it had been on its own from the very start. The closest we got to being truly independent was as the Western Region and our economy was clearly the biggest and fastest growing |
SPEECH: Milestone Achievement in the Ekiti State Digital Transformation Programme Address by His Excellency Dr. Kayode FAYEMI Governor, Ekiti State, Nigeria on the Occasion of the Phase 1 of the Optical Fibre Laying Project for Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria I am delighted to welcome you all to this landmark ceremony which is another giant stride in this administration’s determination to make Ekiti State a digital state thereby making it possible for us to join the world information technology super highway. This ground breaking ceremony which I am about to perform is therefore a major milestone in the Ekiti Digital Transformation Programme. This project which is the first phase of the Optical Fibre Cable Laying Project for the capital city of Ado-Ekiti, is an outcome of the MoU signed between the Government of Ekiti State, Nigeria and IpNX Nigeria Limited in June, 2013. Fibre Optic Cable technology is the fastest means of transmitting data. A single strand of fibre cable can transmit up to 100 gigabits per sec, making it possible to simultaneously carry video, internet and telephone calls effectively. Due to its capacity for almost limitless data speed, fibre-optics is the true enabler of broadband services. With the infrastructure of fibre optics-based broadband being available in Ekiti State, the foundation is being laid for transforming the way the honourable people of Ekiti State live, work, do business and play. It is the objective of this administration to make internet access a household tool in Ekiti State as leverage for achieving our 8-Point transformation agenda. This Phase of work will cover about eight kilometers from the Government Data Centre through Tantalizers, Fajuyi Park, Bank Road, State Secretariat, GRA/Onigari and Christ’s School; all in Ado-Ekiti. The project would be implemented over the next 8 weeks. The following services are expected to be provided via fibre optic cable in the areas covered: High speed internet access to home or offices at an affordable price Wifi hotspot at Fajuyi Park Telephone call services Video Conferencing Cable TV on demand (with many channels) Safe city security cameras e-Education e-Health Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, you will all agree with me that this project is a major step towards transforming Ekiti State into the “Bangalore of Africa”. This is a giant leap towards removing Ekiti State from the cadre considered as ‘Civil Service States’, where Government is the main ‘Industry’ and federal allocations is the lifeblood of the economy. We need to diversify and organically transform our economy and convert our renowned Intellectual Capital to prosperity for our people. This is the same thinking that has informed this progressive administration’s recent inauguration of a Steering Committee tasked with advising government on the setting up of the novel Ekiti Knowledge Zone. This administration is committed to converting our brain into brawn by accelerating development, skipping less efficient routes and moving directly to more advanced stages such as a knowledge-based economy – a system of consumption and production that is based more on intellectual capital much more than on physical inputs or natural resources. The advantages of a broadband connected capital city cannot be over emphasised. The potential for unlocking the entrepreneurial capacity in our youth is limitless. The possibility of stimulating the growth of existing businesses and catalysing the establishment of new ones is unbounded. In spite of our state’s limited resources and competing priorities, we have taken this bold step in embracing the future. We have moved in the direction of greater efficiency and effectiveness in our daily lives and work. This is an investment in the future. It is the bridge that would connect our today with the enablement to achieve our vision of a preferred tomorrow. It is that vision that I commend to everyone this morning; see it, believe it, and embrace it. See the Ekiti of our dreams with your mind’s eye, believe it is achievable, and passionately embrace a future filled with immense opportunities made possible by a Digital Ekiti. It is on this note that I formally kick-off this laudable project to the glory of God and the benefit of the people of the land of honour, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Ekiti is going Digital; Just Keep Faith. Thank you. Dr. Kayode Fayemi Governor of Ekiti State, Nigeria Tuesday, September 3, 2013 http://ekitistate.gov.ng/2013/09/speech-milestone-achievement-in-the-ekiti-state-digital-transformation-programme/ |
Real life and not scenes from a movie Lets hope this doesn't in any way inspire folks around here |
Adejoro74: Hope they are banning agbo sellers as well.Just like asking them to ban green tea. You can only ask that they get a NAFDAC registration. Other than that, they are just like any other meal you consume because they are concoctions Your intellect is quite shallow |
All those so called chemists selling fake drugs should be arrested and prosecuted. A lot of them cannot even spell the word PHARMACY and they dispense drugs and in some instances prescribe and even treat. ![]() Taking advantage of a person's ill health not only to profit but in some cases further aggravate the victim's condition is nothing but criminal What we want in our noble state are the likes of Bukky's Healthplus, Mrs. Joke Bakare's Medplus and Prince Julius Adeluyi's Juli Pharmacy We need to rid the streets and neighborhoods of Lagos of these heartless criminals and return them to where they belong |
Because he is from the Niger Delta and his people have threatened to secede should he lose |
Fayemi has done well and with his performance, he would easily be the best governor in some other zone However, he needs to up his game and move at the speed of Lagos, Ogun and Osun Ekiti has a lot more potentials than just N1bn in IGR monthly |
My friend go and park And mark my words, he can't be. He's going to the Senate |
And what's wrong with distilling palm oil to make fuel for automobiles? It can only lead to an increase in demand and stimulate agriculture The oil palm plant that becomes palm oil for cooking and fuel for automobiles go through different refining processes It can only lead to creation of jobs both in the sector and allied industries |
Here we go again With my experience in that industry, you don't need any equipment Flow stations give measurements of liquids that come into them and what leaves It's easy to detect where a leakage or theft is Stealing crude isn't as easy as stealing a car or even a plane. Now my question is, what happens to the billions the militants get to stop vandalization of pipelines because you can't steal crude or refined petroleum without vandalizing a pipeline |
Bliss4Lyfe: Exactly, Stick to your Passport and Drivers License. Those are Federally approved documentation and if the Federal gov finds a need for ID cards, it should be a National ID Card.Do you need a database to achieve your purported genocidal attempt? How does it happen in the north? This is a Lagos State initiative to aid planning and the information requested proves that. No one is forcing you to register but should you fail to, you will not be recognized as a resident |
Ribadu is truly a man of integrity How many Nigerians can pass an opportunity to become so wealthy off just one out hundreds of cases? And Ibori remains a hero and so is GEJ's mentor, Alams The staggering amounts that have accrued to the ND states under OBJ and GEJ are enough to have made a Lagos out of the region Lagos doesn't get half, in allocation, of what the least ND state gets from the FG but it seems that the more the states get, the more impoverished the people in the region become Alongside the SE, it is the most unsafe region outside some northern states. How do you attract investment when there's insecurity with kidnappings and robberies on every inch of space? I wonder what will become of the ND republic if they ever succeed in creating one - Different Country, Same Gladiators |
