PROUDIGBO: You’re not the only one! They use that ugly and basic looking bridge just to have something to use to add the south-east and south-south in the list! It’s also used to con the south-east and south-south when they receive truck-loads of returned Abacha loot….that they wanna use the share of the south-east and south-south for 2nd Niger bridge! Even if they return loot a thousand times…they will tell you 2nd Niger bridge! Don’t forget this is also a bridge that will be tolled…a bridge sovereign wealth fund also says they’re part funding…..a bridge that GEJ gov’t paid up 30 billion naira for…..and i’m almost certain in some years past, budgetary provision was set aside for it!

maestroferddi: You have succeeded in wasting my time...
Let's assume without conceding that you are making sense...
So you are saying that Peter Obi should not be voted for because he did not, for example build a power plant in Onitsha?
The problem with Nigeria is that all of people like you who don't Jack speak the loudest....
Obama was elected US president after a term in the US Senate representing Chicago Illinois...
Did Obama build a space station in Mars before Americans considered him for leadership?
Peter Obi will transform Nigeria to the Sillicon Valley overnight but he is without equivocation the man who will facilitate the renaissance of Nigeria as a serious country.
PS...Your ignorance is nauseating. Power generation is/was essentially a monopoly...
You don't read...too bad... The reason I don't speak much about Atiku for instance is because of the Obama example you gave. Atiku like Obama (although to a much lesser degree) did not have full responsibility or Governance of a state/country before contesting. However both Obi and Tinubu had that opportunity. So now speaking of Obi, we cam only judge him based on what we know about him when he Governed Anambra state. Your example of Obama would fit people like Sowore better not Obi who was part of the PDP for years and very close to Jonathan to booth. In terms of power generation we've seen some Governors make effort despite the limitations. If Obi was truly concerned about Electricity, we should have seen these signs from him when he was Governor. |

maestroferddi: You are asking a rather simplistic if not dumb question.
The question you should answer is whether Peter Obi had a good scorecard when he was the governor of Anambra State...
So Peter Obi could have turned Anambra to Dubai to qualify him to come for the presidency?
My friend, once again do be a lazybone...
Read up the topic " types of fallacies".
Your argument lacks the most basic semblance of logicality and critical thinking.
We hear some funny people allude "the development of Lagos" to certain individuals...
But may I let you know that today Lagos has one of the worst slums in Nigeria.
A man is telling you that he is aspiring to replicate the success of other working societies and all you can do is whine and mouth off inanities...
If Peter Obi is not using the likes of India, China, Egypt and Indonesia as examplars, should he use Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia so you can be happy... Tell me you have a problem with success?
You are wasting my time oga... They ask Obi simple question: What would you do differently? and then he starts blabbing about China and Vietnam? It shows he probably has no experience whatsoever on how things should be done. Nobody is saying transform Anambra to Dubai, but at least for a man so highly hyped, one would have thought that he could show a semblance of his abilities in Anambra. For example: Transform Onitsha Market into a Formal tax paying, revenue generating enterprise. Provide Portable Water. Create the textile exporting market he said Bangladesh has. Make some investments in electricity at least for the market in Onitsha. None of these makes Anambra Dubai but it makes Anambra an example for Nigeria. How can you criticize Nigeria on electricity when you didn't even try as a Governor to improve such in your state (compared to Edo State Governor who brought in some investors, Amaechi who did same and even Tinubu who fought the federal Government to have electricity moved to the concurrent list) or demand that it be a given in critical markets in your state? Why didn't you move Anambra from consumption to production? My man, mak we start to dey use our brain. Nor let any politician fool you. |

The internet is there for you to get where Peter Obi cleared the air on most of the issues you raised about his tenure as the governor of Anambra State.
It is wisdom that if you want to succeed, you have to learn from those who have succeeded....It is common sense.
You dont expect Peter Obi to start solving Nigeria's problems when he is not yet the president.
Your criticism is not constructive bujt a complete display of confusion and negativity.
Tens of millions of educated Nigerians including most of the diaspora who are serenading Peter Obi are no fools...
You better come on board than continue on the path of ineffectual criticism... My question to you is: If Obi loves China, Egypt, Vietnam, and Bangladesh so much, why didn't he implement their economic policies in Anambra while he was Governor to set a blue print for Nigeria? How many investors did Obi bring to Anambra to invest in power and portable water and other things he speaks about today? Why didn't Obi bring investors to set up a Textile factory in Anambra or make Onitsha market a formal market with Tax remittances? Talk is cheap my friend. |

What you are doing is called hallucinating on defeatist idealism and fantasies...
Peter Obi is an 8 or 9 over 10 candidate....We need him. Period Trust me, I don't rate Nigerian politicians that much. Buhari phenomenon has taught me that although corruption is part of our problem with the leaders we have continually had, there is even a bigger problem, and that is lack of ideas. I like Obi because he seems to be less corrupt in my view than the other two candidates but I am not a fan of his economic policies. While we need to save and manage as a country the way traders do, we need to unlock new channels of revenue quickly by leveraging on our advantages. When you ask Obi a simple question, 70% of his answers are usually about China, Vietnam, Egypt. I get no inspiration from his answers. My focus is: What did he do in Anambra? How did he unlock new sources of revenue for Anambra to increase IGR? How did he solve insecurity in Anambra? Why did Doctors go on 13 months strike in Anambra? what has he learnt from all these? These are what he should be addressing. If it's about coming out everyday to talk about China, Bangladesh, and Egypt, then even I can run for the presidency and start campaigning for myself. |

Well I'm not surprised some people still believe APC can rescue Nigeria from APC While I share your sentiments, I heard he increased it recently. Nevertheless, Borno State is perhaps one of the cheapest places to live in now in Nigeria because it doesn't receive lots of visitors due to inherent fears some still have, so 8000 naira would still go a long way in Borno than in Lagos or even Kebbi for instance. Stanislause94: the IGR he improved by increasing tax? Ask civil servants in Lagos how much of their salary is being deducted as tax. Obiano increased tax rate of government workers hence the increase in IGR. Government should be about the masses and not about the people in government Tax is necessary. It shouldn't necessarily be increased but be expanded to cover everyone. Then let everyone pay based on what they earn or what their trade is. Obi should have formalized Onitsha market that way to increase the IGR. |

Stanislause94: how has all these things you listed improved our economy? How has it benefited the common lagosian? *MR. PETER OBI SUCCESSES IN ANAMBRA STATE AS A GOVERNOR* The list below are the records of Mr. Peter Obi stewardship to the good people of Anambra when he was their Governor and not the one his predecessor or successor achieved. Why some are afraid to tell the world what they did during their own tenure but prefer showcasing the achievements of their successors because they know they performed below percentage. Please happy reading. 1. Peter Obi built from scratch Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Akwa with 25 building structures. 2. Accreditation of 12 Health Institutions, among are: Iyiemu Hospital, Ogidi Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala Holy Rosary Waterside, Onitsha Saint Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu Also built different Health Care and Maternal Centres across the state. 3. He was the first governor to purchase medical equipment of about 135 million and 50 live ambulances to some hospitals. All still functioning till date. 4. He built Joseph Nwilo Health Centre, where Heart Operations are performed. 5. Anambra was the first state in Nigeria to distribute 30,000 computers and 32,500 HP Computers at different times. 6. He also distributed 700 school buses to secondary schools and 200 school buses to primary schools. 7. He donated 3M and 444M naira to Anglican and Roman Catholic Churches respectfully to rehabilitate their schools. Considering their needs at that time. 8. He gave 1M each to Anambra First Class Graduates in all Nigerian Universities. Before his tenure was over 160 Anambrans were beneficiaries. 9. In order to promote reading culture in the state, he erected and adequately equipped Prof. Kenneth Modern Library, Awka. He also rehabilitated the Divisional Library, Onitsha. 10. He gave 500 thousand naira to each secondary schools in the state to provide library materials and books to their library. This revolution tremendously boost the performance of students, as the state went from 26th position out of the 36 states in the federation to 1st position in the federation. 11. He gave one security vehicle to each of the 177 communities in Anambra. This in turn improved the security situation in Anambra tremendously. 12. He cleared pension and gratuity owed since 1991 by paying the beneficiaries a whooping sum of 37B. 13. He gave monthly #10k stipend to any Anambran above 80 years of age. 14. Built the first Secretariat Complex to house state government ministries that were scattered around the state. 15. His government attracted the second largest brewery in the world to Anambra. 16. He was recognized as the best Governor by the Millennium Development Goals in the implementation of their programmes in his state. He was awarded by Bill Gates. 17. He constructed two bridges across the popular agrolink in an Onocha Local Government Area of Anambra, a project that cost 2B naira. 18. Funded agrolink hotel project Golden Tower. 19. He reconstructed the popular interchange bridge axis of Enugu and Onitsha Express Way to 6 lanes. 20. Constructed 800kilometers of roads network between the rural and urban areas of the state. This includes: Igbariam Internal Roads Aguleri to Adani Enugu Road etc 21. He constructed 30 verifiable bridges and flyovers, such as Nkpor flyover, Obosi flyover which Julius Berger is using today as their bypass. 22. He patronized home built vehicles by buying over 20,000 vehicles from Innoson which he gave to schools, traditional rulers and vigilante groups in the state. 23. He built Nigeria Stock Exchange building in Onitsha. 24. He also created the Industrial Parks to act as catalyst for Industrialization. 25. He constructed and commissioned the governor's lounge at Annex Onitsha, FMR Customary Court of Appeal building, High Court Complex at Nnewi and Ogidi, judges quarters at Onitsha. 26. Built Dunukofia Local Government Secretariat. 27. Distributed 1.2B credit facility to farmers in the state and also cleared 20M debt owed banks by Anambra farmers as a result of 2012 flood devastation. 28. Purchase 90 to 185 vehicles (buses and taxes) in two years for Anambra transportation. 29. Adopted the best practice in waste management disposal by providing over 300B worth of Waste Evacuation Trucks. 30. In 2015 Anambra was adjudged as the least indebted state in the federation by Debt Management Office. This was due to his judicious use of resources coming to the state and not put burden on the unborn Anambra people. 31. The only governor that planned for rainy day. He was able to save and handed over 75B to his successor. The only man that saw that there would be cash crutch in the future and planned for it. 32. The frugality, competence and credibility of Mr. Peter Obi cannot be overemphasized because he lives by what he preaches. Why other governors made EFCC or ICPC their home after tenure, he has been working around with his head held high. No single history of court case on graft or otherwise. Are you really asking me how investment in power for Lagos state is a notable achievement? Or how the great wall of Lagos is a benefit to Victoria Island? Or how the Lekki free trade zone is a blessing to Lagos and Nigerian economy? Really? Some of the things you listed as a achievements of Obi are great while many are stuff Local Government chairmen should be boasting about not a Governor. Tinubu also handed something to Fashola to start with, but beyond just saving money, the IGR of Lagos went from 600 million naira monthly to 7 Billion monthly as at 2007. The IGR of Anambra did not increase significantly under Obi and even Ngige and Obiano improved the IGR more significantly than Obi. Saving money without improving IGR is dead economics in my opinion. |

Stanislause94: please I don’t yet have presidential candidate I support. I’m looking at Tinubu. Please can you list his achievements during his tenure in Lagos. NB: his achievements during his tenure and not developments in Lagos after his tenure. Thank you None of these candidates are my favourite. My choice (until may) was Osinbanjo, but I think Tinubu is more competent than Obi or Atiku. Tinubu was first Governor in the 4th republic to bring in investments into the power sector of Lagos state to make it independent of the national grid. Obasanjo simply used the law of the exclusive list against him to feed into the national grid. Tinubu created many local Governments to help oversee their districts as enshrined in the constitution. Not many Governors were interested in the idea of local Governments including Obi. Tunubu created many organisations still active in Lagos state today. LASTMA and the likes. Tinubu was faced with the problem of having Victoria Island submerged by the sea. He invited experts from Denmark to begin feasibility studies and now we have the great wall of Lagos. Tinubu in 2004 went to China to share his vision of a free trade zone in Lekki and the renaissance of what is now Lekki was born under him. The roadmap and programs of present day Lagos including the rails and BRT buses were drawn in Tinubu's Government. |

Dsalvo: Obi has no appreciable leadership track record. That is the reality his blind fans fail to accept.
For me, the quality most needed in a Nigerian President is authoritative bravery and unwavering political will.
No President in the world, even those of tiny nations, lack expert sound advice.
The problem is the will to implement those sound advice and ideas.
That notion then becomes more important in Nigeria where so many powerfully entrenched monsters and forces exist capable of waging war openly against any beneficial idea and policies that favors the masses yet works against their own private interest.
In this regard, Obi is the worst of all those running to include Sowore. Obi is a coward. A serial and proven coward. The very opposite of a leader because no leader should be a coward
We even saw his latest act of cowardice when he fled PDP literally days after boasting he is prepared to win the Party's primaries.
He will be a disaster at this very challenging stage in the history of Nigeria.
That is the reality you Obi fans do not want to accept. No one who loves Nigeria and want the best for her will entertain Obi as the replacement for Buhari.
In the army, they shoot deserters for cowardice in periods of war. This is because a cowardly deserter let the team down and expose others to danger to ultimately result in an army losing the war.
Obi is the peacetime equivalent of a wartime army deserter and a coward for any Nigerian who understands that the President of Nigeria is not needed to be a rocket scientist as much as he is required to be a brave and resolute warrior ready to battle powerful evil forces, and overcome them, to the glory of the masses.
It is pathetic how Obi fled rather than face Atiku, Tambuwal, Wike etal. He is not a child and would be aware he stands the best chance of transforming Nigeria under the PDP that would give him appreciable gubernatorial and legislative support he can use to quickly and instantly make decisions for Nigeria.
Yet the coward fled to structureless Labour. No doubt same way he will run to hide when our powerful enemies of progress start fighting him.
https://tribuneonlineng.com/2023-i-am-ready-for-pdp-presidential-primaries-peter-obi/ The man seem to waiver sometimes and not keep to his words. I also saw a video of him on channels tv then saying moving out from one party to another is not his thing, and he is dedicated to APGA. But he moved from APGA to PDP and now Labour. |

The seventh edition of Disrupt Africa’s annual African Tech Startups Funding Report, released in January, found 564 startups raised a combined US$2,148,517,500 in 2021, a record for a calendar year. Yet that record has already fallen within the first half of 2022, in which 303 startups banked a whopping US$2.275 billion, meaning 2022 is already the best year ever for investment into the ecosystem. It means the sector is on course to increase total funding raised by 100 per cent year-on-year.Nigeria is leading the way, with 98 companies having raised a combined US$691.8 million since January. This is still short of the US$903,680,000 raised by Nigerian ventures in 2021, though that target is easily surpassable given the current rate of investment. Egypt comes in second, as it did in 2021, though the US$521 million raised by Egyptian startups in 2022 already represents growth on last year, when the overall total was US$445.8 million. Kenya, in third, has seen US$447.4 million raised by 45 startups, more than US$150 million more than the US$292 million the country raked in across 2021. So far, South Africa is having a relatively disappointing year compared to other members of the “big four”, with US$263.6 million raised by 30 companies. This still means, however, that the country is on course to better 2021’s total of US$336,405,000. Once again, fintech is proving the main driver of investment on the continent, with 109 fintech startups having raised a total of US$1,111,570,000 in 2022 so far, already more than the US$ 1,038,456,500 banked. https://disrupt-africa.com/2022/07/14/african-tech-startups-surpass-2021-funding-total-in-h1-of-2022-2-3bn-raised/#:~:text=via%20Wikimedia%20Commons-,African%20tech%20startups%20surpass%202021%20funding%20total,of%202022%3B%20%242.3bn%20raised&text=African%20tech%20startups%20raised%20more,investment%20hitting%20US%242.275%20billion. |
