enigmaotr:We should not be too surprised at their exaltation of the Mary above Jesus, for Mary is the name they merely borrowed for the "the great goddess Diana.. whom all Asia and the world worship" (Acts 19.27), same as the queen of heaven that we read about in Jer. 7.18-20. To prove it's a borrowed name for an ancient pagan goddess, you would observe that the queen of heaven was being worshipped centuries before Mary was born, yet she is often referred to in the Roman Catholic Church as the queen of heaven. Also check out Jer. 44.17 - 19. Talking about the evolution of the Catholic religion from a political force to a syncretic religious system, It may interest you to know that Mary (Diana of Ephesus actually) was not part of their worship originally as admitted by the Catholic Encyclopaedia: "Devotion to our Lady in its ultimate analysis must be regarded as a practical application of the doctrine of the Communion of Paints. Seeing that this doctrine is not contained, at least explicitly, in the earlier forms of Apostles' breed..". |
Ichiato:Ok, I give it to U. Revelation 22:18-19 NKJV For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. |
kelnas:What do U expect from the lot that made touching the bible a capital offence punishable by death at a time in history. Everyone must get something clear, this monstrous religion was the product of a world political power losing face with the defiance and bravery of the church when it was birthed. In a desperate move to encourage the fleeing faithfuls to return to the city, the then reigning emperor, Constantine, declared Himself a christian. Caught between the existing pagan worship of Rome and the new faith of Christians, he began to change the idols of Rome to the so called saints. Every prominent biblical figure in the bible was made to subsume the Roman idols, hence the idea of conferring sainthood to dead people, instead of the living in Christ. All was an attempt to create a system of worship that would be acceptable to both the pagan Romans and the Christians of that time. This is what's called syncretism. In order to legitimise this unholy marriage of the Christian faith and idolatrous worship, a lot of dogmas began to surface. Read and understand. |
Here's the paperback. If anyone reads this and similar books on the evolution of the Roman Catholic Church, U will cease to think reasoning will change them, cos "the god of this world has blinded their eyes so the light of the glorious gospel should not enter their minds.

What I'm about to show here will offend many & surprise many more. But I appeal that whatever anyone feels, kindly read some books before commenting this way or that way. Hope we understand ourselves. "If you know your history, then you will know where U're coming from" Know this, the Catholic faith did not start the Mother & Child or Mary worship. They are ancient Babylonian pagan practises, which shows the influence that paganism has had in the Roman Catholicism development. That's why they create dogmas and all forms of beliefs to find a way to bring the Babylonian religions as close as possible to scriptures, an impossible marriage. The Chinese had a mother goddess called Shingmoo or the Holy Mother. The ancient Germans worshiped the virgin Hertha. The mother goddes was known as Venus or Fortuna to her devotees in the olden days of Rome, and her child as Jupiter. Regardless of her name or place, a writer says "she was the wife of Baal, the virgin queen of heaven, who bore fruit although she never conceived. In Ephesus, the great mother was known as Diana. The temple dedicated to her in that city was one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. In Egypt, the mother was known as Isis and her child as Horus. Those are not my findings, but those of historians. There are many books on the evolution of the Roman Catholic religion. But my reference is titled Babylon Mystery Religion, Ancient and Modern by Ralph Edward Wondrow. Buy, read and clear your doubts. |
nnatom:By nature, we are all children of wrath, having inherited the nature of sin from Adam. ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Rom. 3.23). There's not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin. (Eccl. 7.20). If we say we have no sin, we're liars (1Jn. 1.8 ). Mary was also a sinner, that's why she acknowledged her "saviour" in Luke 1.47 as quoted by Ichuka on Sept. 4. It's not sentiments, it's the word of God. |
I like it when children, especially girls, obey their mothers to the letters. Check this out. A Naija mother asks her daughter "AMAKA", How did U get pregnant? I told u if a man or guy touches ur breast say "DON'T" if he touches ur private part say "STOP"!.... The girl says yes mama I did, but he was touching both at the same time, & I said. "DON'T STOP" lol______ |
By this man's remarks, I believe there are better ways Nigerian Govt should have approached this issue without exposing it's indiscretion; unless of course, there are more to the arms deal(s) than meets the eyes. |
Governor Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso of Kano State has accused President Goodluck Jonathan-led Federal Government of not being sincere over its defence of the seized $9.3m and another $5.7m by the South African government. He said the seized money by the South African government under the guise of procuring arms and ammunition to fight insurgency, contravened established rules and guidelines. The governor said it was a clear violation of the due process in the procurement. Kwakwanso spoke in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday after the public presentation of two laws-Ekiti Magistrate Court Law 2014 and Administration of Criminal Justice 2014-by his counterpart from Lagos, Raji Fashola (SAN). Fashola, who described laws and constitutionality as the bedrock of any nation, said the application of the Cremation and Public Health Laws gave the state a breakthrough in its fight against the Ebola Virus Disease that broke out in the country recently. Kwakwanso, who had earlier inaugurated the Ire Burnt Brick Industry revamped by Governor Kayode Fayemi, said Nigerians must rise up to protect judiciary for the sustenance of the country’s democracy. The governor said, “As a former Minister of Defence, I am very conversant with the way and manner, and the due process that is required to procure any arms, ammunition or equipment, there are rules and guidelines. Arms and ammunition are not rice and beans that you can just go to the market and purchase. “Many of us were concerned when the information filtered in. In fact, we didn’t believe it initially, but along the line, based on the defence of what happened, we realized that it was a bitter truth that such a thing happened: that money of that magnitude in an aircraft flown to another nation, I think so many things have gone wrong. I think it is high time for the Federal Government to sit up to its responsibilities to ensure that things are being done correctly. “Yes, we need arms and ammunition; yes, we need security in this country, but even under that circumstance, there are rules and guidelines that must be respected. “While we are trying to tackle insurgency, we must follow the due process. Even in the operation there are rules of engagement; they are very important to protect the lives and properties of innocent people.” http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/punchng/NEWS/~3/hRkXjgNZDYk/ |
Blessed are those who use 2 sim cards in Nigeria. For me it just makes sense to call & send sms with glo & browse with Airtel. I'll show U. I call all networks with glo bounce at ₦7.20 & get a free sms for every sms I send. I can make free midnight calls from 0.01hrs. I get ₦50 bonus to call glo lines the ffg mrg b4 9. As if that's not enough, I get free 30MB when I load ₦200. I subscribe to Airtel unlimited BB monthly for just ₦1,500 & I get 2GB. Now I understand I can get 4GB for 2mths at ₦2,000, that's crashing d cost to ₦1,000 per month. Good for me, Airtel is smooth on HSDPA & HSDPA+ most of the time in my area. To crown it all, the 2 sims are just in one phone; my Sony Xperia C. What can be better? |
Somebody somewhere got fed up with their works and fervently asked God for vengeance. God is the righteous Judge. |
I still laugh at myself when I recall one afternoon when, out of excitement, I slammed a 'show glass' door close and that caused the glasses to fall off and break. I immediately became morose and sick at the same time. I had to locate him immediately and report myself, so my punishment might reduce. I located him in his friend's shop & dread of the possible consequences didn't allow me speak audibly, they had to take the words out of my mouth. When everyone there got the clear picture, they so laughed at me. Even my dad couldn't do anything afterward. Though, out of natural instinct or practise, he stil said "U will see" ;-) |
Fellow Nigerians, we must not lose sight of the fact that God made this country great; that's her destiny. He has used this incidence to make us have a taste of just how much the whole world is waiting for our manifestation. Anything coming out of this great country has always received much publicity, good or bad. That's a sign that we are great. We've however perverted our greatness long enough, we've subverted the desire of God on our nation long enough. It's time we realised our worth and take our rightful place. The same attitude that helped us cage Ebola is the key - we were united in the fight, we cast our many differences aside & exhibited mutual respect, everyone became his brother's keeper. People with the requisite knowledge and experience to tackle the scourge didn't hold back and above all, we prayed. If we continue to address all our national issues with this attitude there would be no better way to rebrand a country. We would never have to create impressions to the world at the cost of our common resources; the results will speak for themselves. As they say, efforts may be maligned, but nobody contends results. We can rule the world with the right attitude. God bless Nigeria. |
ochejoseph:Ol boy, it's pathetic. As big as Nigeria is, they forgot where we are on the map. That's how they mixed up our national anthem the other time. |
These guys have gone bananas. Almost everyday now they offer "employment". I think this is another company: MEDPRO GLOBAL RESOURCES INVITES U For Test/Briefing @ 161 Ikorodu rd,beside Lanre Shittu Motors,Onipanu B/stp Lagos on Wed.08/10/14 by 9am.080-6623-6481 sent from ADSCAREERS.

I think it's high time someone makes these people realise they can't continue to take people for granted. This is going too far. They sent me this too tonight, that's MCRC: You are hereby invited for an interview on wednesday 8th of october 2014 at the 1st floor adenekan house, 343 agege motor road challenge bus stop mushin lagos by 10am.HRM059 |
I always enjoy half-full glass of Irish Cream with suya. Hmm! |
buzzy1: I got the same invitation yesterday inviting me to come for an interview at the same address... Am not sure i will give it a tryThese guys appear desperate to me, they keep changing the sender. Imagine they send from KGC on September 24. It reads: "U r considered 4 an interview on Thurs. 25/09/14 by 9am @ our office, 83, Iyana Ipaja Ex.way by Pako B/stop. Opp. Propel Filling Station. Inf call 08092493009" Some things common in their invitations are: 1) Short time to attend the interview 2) Informal language 3) Unspecified post U're being invited for, instead 4) They won't give U clear idea on what they do. What pains most is their penchant for disguising, taking advantage of the unemployment situation to lure people. Why can't they be proud of what they do for once & package themselves well? |

Hello Nairalanders. "In the multitude of counsels, there is safety". So, please, I've not travelled to Abuja by road before & I wish to know whether it is safer and/or faster to travel by one of these luxurious buses or the small Toyota buses. Also, what are the charges of either of them. How about night travels? Is it okay, or just better to go in the early morning bus. Thank you for four helpful replies. |
How easy to share blames for a relationship that's not working. OP, I understand ur plight; I'm there. A marriage never works in the hands of just one spouse; the two has to be committed to making it work, else it will be a progressively piling burden for the one who wants/hopes it works..until he/she either collapses under the burden or finds his/her way out. In other words, if one spouse isn't putting in an effort to make the marriage work, it will eventually crash. It's a matter of time. I also feel how sex can be a torture when the love is gone. However, since children are involved, U now have a shared responsibility for the wellbeing of the children. Inasmuch as there are no life threatening tendencies, you may choose to stay for the sake of the kids. The pressures can benumb one's reason & peace. I've sometimes found I $exual pleasures outside the marriage a panacea while I keep being responsible in other aspects at home. It kinda helps me keep my balance, though not the best. The choice is yours anyways. |
Thank God for this thread. Pls, I got this message today from JGC ADMIN, and it reads "You are invited for an interview at our office 83, Lagos-Abeokuta Exp way pako b/stop, opp propel fuel station Ajila house on Wed. 13/08/2014 by 9am. KGC/HQ/122". Has anyone received or attended an interview with these ppl? Are they real? And what is their business? Apparently, they didn't include a phone no to call. Thanks. |
The first five replies to this post sound like they actually read the entire post before commenting, that's a good one. It means this can no longer be hidden in books for Nigerians; there's hope for Nigeria. To the issues here, in life there must be choices. Gov Rotimi Amaechi has only exercised his right of choice. We don't have a perfect political party yet, but we will keep evolving till we get there. God bless Nigeria! |
Billyonaire: China's worries are legitimate but it is a matter of time before the US gives way for Economy based on money, NOT currency. It is also time we deliberate on the next fiat currency. Nothing lasts forever. This is just the beginning of the end of the empire.I'm a little worried by ur signature line that says if Satan should vanish, God would be useless. A time certainly is coming after Satan would have been judged; when there would be no evil, a kingdom where there's no night. Where ppl never grow old. Where men would see God in His glory & worship Him forever. A perpetual regime of perfect peace; what makes U say "God will be useless" at that time? |
Good morning. I just found your post. It's a pity there has been no reply on it since 2011, and I hope you read this. I am in the same line of business and hope there are things we can do together. For example, my company gets lots of jobs and requires the services of installers to do the jobs. If this interests you, please simply reply to this post. Thanks. |
