I'm in the same dilema, I'm currently using Samsung Galaxy Young S6102, which is quite good with all my necessary applications, but it has the following grave limitations, which has necessitated the urgent need for another one to make up for the shortcomings: 1) Data consumption extremely HIGH; 15MB lasts 24hrs max. 2) Fully charged battery doesn't last beyond 18hrs, which I suppose is due to data consumption. 3) Closely related to that, up to 12 apps run in the background; WhatsApp I understand but the rest are absolutely out of my control amd it's turning me nuts. 4) Totally disappointing Task Manager. Every time I try to return to whichever browser it will reload all the pages I was on, and if I minimise the browser long enough, say 20mins, God help me. 5) Internal memory is another BIG disappointment, it's simply impossible to install a few additional apps to those shipped with the phone. 6) Talking of disappointments, the camera is the train. My greatest catch in the replacement will be Efficient data consumption, Support WhatsApp, Efficient Task Manager and 5MP Camera or more, in that order. I honestly don't mind a Nokia. Any suggestions based on experience pls? |
ABAKA72: oga please can you give us short stories, we are waiting.Gbam! Oya, :p :p |
soloqy: On the contrary, most found it engaging enough to read it to the end.To be candid, that guy needs some attention 'cos he appears to be suffering from what is called 'Short Attention Span' (SAS) syndrome. |
Dear Poster, No doubt, you are good; forget typos, I don't see anything compromising the objects of this write-up. I just got an uncomplimentary remark for failing something I should have done and that put me in really bad mood. For a moment I though of what to do; watching the TV was out of the question 'cos it's 'Off NEPA', so I decided to just browse away. Nairaland.com was my 1st port of call. I looked up the front page and only two topics really promised to tone up my mood, but I opened this first. I wasn't really expecting much, but I heard myself laughing, laughing real loud that when it was 'Up NEPA' and my TV came back on and the volume I was enjoying before was now 'deafening'. By the time I realised I was at the end of the story I felt I needed to know how long this had been, so I scrolled up and *gasps* it's been so long! The writing is very engaging and funny. On top of it all it helped me rid my bad mood. Thanks. |
For me, I can't be caught off-guard or held ransom by any network AGAIN! - Two dual sim phones housing Airtel, MTN, Etisalat & Glo. - ₦6/min & ₦1/sms on Airtel to 10 numbers, ₦3/sms to other Airtel nos & ₦5 to other networks + SuperFast 10MB weekly. - 40 free sms + 10MB weekly frm MTN - 15MB weekly frm Etisalat. - Glo to complete the slots, What more can I ask for? |
Hmmm! I pity U. If U allow Aims to use ur investment appetite against U, there's no one else U'll blame. There was a time around 2007 I was approached just like they approached U, to invest in private placements. They also tried me to just deposit cash with them, which they proposed to invest on my behalf, apparently, I was not to know where, but I was naive enough to follow them like a sheep to the slaughter. Boy, they didn't waste time at all. When I visited their office on Adeniyi Jones, before they moved, nobody could explain what happened to my money. So, I offer U my stinking advise, BEWARE OF AIMS!! |
Actually, I've had no dealing with them; but there's an exchanger I've had dealing with and I've not been disappointed at all. It's e-naira.com |
d7thcaller: @ slimming,U're just lucky. |
legalwealth: But I was told last week here in Osogbo by a customer care agent that it will be rectified and thatThat agent is clearly not up to date. GT has sent a mail, a while back, to its customers notifying them of the change. |
henry247: Startimes is crappy n useless.it cracks every minute even though I use d ext. Antanna,so how can they compete wit their poor quality services.their recent upgrade didn't help matters as most important stations like discovery for example has bin removed frm d 1000nira category n now 2000nira.d most annoyin is d inability to just watch for 2minutes witout cracking.mine is up for sale @3k wit ext antanna inclusive. How can I get ur decoder and antenna? I'm at Ipaja part of Lagos. |
Sarah Pane is more properly informed about what the Nigerian Govt. is doing; she has the intel; she can't feign ignorance of ineptitude of Govt officials in Nigeria. How it concerns the youths she's accusing is the THE PAIN OF BEING ROBBED OF THEIR FUTURE WITH IMPUNITY. Sarah, playing to the gallery is a moral offence in this situation and posterity will not rule in your favour. If you find it hard to say the truth, SILENCE IS NOBLE!!! |
Super1759: That driver must be a fan of james bond and jack in 24 very much.Camera! Light!! Action!!! Abeg, wey the stunts man in yellow top? ..still practicing how to enter a vehicle in motion. THE END!! |
I have some issues with Glo on their so-called Gbam Hi-Five; despite deducting N10 daily 1) When my airtime falls to N39.03 all out-bound communications are blocked. That means no more calls or sms, U can't even browse with your own money. 2) I can't get Customer Care. So annoying, it tells me to select an option, I selected, almost punching thru my phone's screen and it tells me "U have not made any selection" time and times again. 3) They only give meagre 5MB on N200 recharge. To me, that's ridiculous. I'm not sure I won't just break their Sim and send it to the fire... What's your own experience? |
timbros: to change to this plan send *100*5*1#It doesn't accumulate, but I have some issues with them. 1) When my airtime falls to N39.03 all out-bound communications are blocked. The questions U ask urself will indeed reveal the reasons the home is falling apart and one area I found out that most women (spiritual, educated, intelligent, friendly, warm, caring, fruitful & beautiful) lose their marriage is their inability to be their husband's PARTNER. The hardwork there is continuous assessment of ur roles in the marriage & changing ur strategy when necessary. Of course, it's taken for granted that U do all the spiritual exercises. |
Woman, when it appears you're losing your home; when you seem to be failing as a wife, friend, mother or even daughter in-law, love and confidence are waning in the home and external influences are getting a stronger hold on ur marriage, I have a key for you, try being a PARTNER Be with and be seen to be with him in all he does. |
She might be more relevant that class of men than U think. Imagine she's a good masseuse. In my case, I need such a lady who'll accept being massaged in exchange. Not really in for dating. |
This Airtel Club 10 may be a fraud afterall + their Customer Care Reps don't seem to understand the package! I switched to it, added as many as 7 members n loaded N200. No MB! When I complained, d customer care guy kept repeating 4MB, only when I drummed it into his ears that he put me on hold. He returned n said ok, 10MB. He said I had 'some' data allowance on my line right now but they've since been deducting from my balance. |
We believe almost anything, that's why anything, just anything, sells in 9ja. The so called killer no. is all fluke, a big joke afterall. That was another April fool. 09 14 1 is today's date in mm dd y format. By the way, has anyone seen or heard of any visible evidence like we had of the family that died of beans poisoning not long ago? |

I'm sure Oreade d poster and Dave42 shd be like 12 to 13 yrs of age. Likely their dads just got them sm new toys n he oresented it to them in pure white babariga, so, in their young and innocent minds, anyone they see wearing white babariga is a saint. On this assumption I don't think we shd make them cry. They only need to be told how things work. There are 2 courts: Court of public opinion and court of 'competent' jurisdiction. What's called d public is aka masses or the 95% poor pple in d country. The 2nd court if 4 d 5% rich. So, verdict of which court do U think should carry more weight? @seund11 and other Bank-Ole apologists, U shd know that U can hardly find 1% of those 'Public Servants' doing ANYTHING in ur own interest. I wud understand if U're their beneficiaries n U talk like seund11, Oreade n dave42. Otherwise, what sense does it make to U attempt to make a saint of confirmed pen-robbers who hv denied U n I better educatn than they hv in Ghana, world standard and affordable health care like they hv in india? Hv a high standard of living like d Libya citizens or to hv uninterrupted power supply n other public utilities so we can sort ourselves out. Nothing can be better than U n I allow the fishes to eat themselves up, until maybe a few that may be left can be easier to dealt with for us. |
Lucky is seriously working, thinking how to fight corruption, fight the decay in our academic system, combat the spate of crimes, kidnapping and insecurity, including those throwing 'bangers in d north and is figuring out a better life for all. Is that not what he promised? To continue 'fighting for' all these things. Chika na! So, any clue he gets on any of these areas he'll present a proposal for whoever is coming after him. Talk, he will. Do, he won't. trust him to perform is trusting a snail to win a 100m dash. OYO! I had no books, I had no bags, that's why I am d u l l ! |
I have no shoes, I had no pen, that's why I'm dull. Pls, let me repeat until I'm Pana-sharp LOL! |
I beg to differ frm those pro n anti Jonathan proponents. With due regard, I didn't expect a miracle frm his Excellency. My position: Saying 4yrs won't be enough is not to break a promise, neither is it a political statement. Rather, IT'S SAYING THE OBVIOUS. As a matter of personality drawback, what would take a Fashola 2yrs will take a Goodluck 20yrs. It's an ability-based estimation. If anyone understands this point of view, they'll agree his Excellency needs to repeat d Presidential class 4 like 10 times to bring d desired turnaround n development Nigeria badly needs. What I've always said, I say to Nigerians again, WE NEED MORE THAN LUCK TO REPOSITION NIGERIA!!! |
D dog didn't say 'I do', u think say e dull? When doggies plenty 4 street. How im go say 'I do' to just 1 woman, plus incliding say d doggies are 'always ready', dem no dey cover d thing now! So, if d woman wan help d 'husband' against cheating, she go adjust to d husband's lifestyle small, say make she thro'way everything wey feel cause obstruction when dem 2 dey waka 4 road, and make she no complain about anywhere d 'husband' chooses 2 do am, even if na open market. |

Hmm!! Okay! And I think they've been having budget deficit for how many years now, back-to-back? |
Got this news report in The Guardian today that the US Government may shutdown and it sounds compleletely strange. It would sound strange to hear that even a department of the US government is broke, let alone the entire US government. This might be signalling something more devastating than the global economic meltdown that saw a crumbling of virtually all financial institutions all over the world in 2008 in d wake of the US mortgage sector collapse a little earlier. Do anyone understand the story better to give us some analysis and interpretations, conclusion(s) and advise? Please, read: http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43967:talks-intensify-to-forestall-possible-us-govt-shutdown-&catid=76:world&Itemid=560

GEJ protagonists, wake up! Life gives no room for rehearsals, every moment, month n yr U lose is gone 4ever. It's gd enof 2 apprec8 gd qualities in a person, (in fact, I encourage pple not to be stingy with apprec8n), but if we overpromote a less qualified, less capable man to be in charge of a Coy, all losses could be denominated in financial terms. If that man is put in charge of our all-encompassing political lives for 4yrs (since we're not matured to remove our political leaders when we find them wanting) the losses will be colossal financial, moral, economic losses, covering up to but not limited to the foreseeble future (short term). Now, how cheap is that? Our dear president is having gr8 academic maturity n finesse. This aroma pervades all he does, but what's d connection between costume and character? He has TOLD us what he WILL do if he's given control of our political destiny. He had a chance to give us a fore-taste of his leadership style for 10 whole months and we're more confused than convinced. “Take d bull by d horn! Take it by d horn fast!! Yes! The horn fast, fast“. We all know if this desperate shout goes to our President, he'll do 'NUTTYg BY NATURE' The fear of d pple that surround him/he surrounds himself with perplexes me. Moreso, given d fact that he's compromised a lot 4 his own political career. Are we good to go? |
Culled frm PM News, Written by Aidy Thomas. It is a natural thing for me to refer to marriage as a journey and as I do this, a lot of images are erected in my mind--frm the day of sparkling white flowing gown and dark coloured suit with youthful grin, to a sluggish grey hair when you’ll solely or partially depend on each other for simple mundane tasks. Oh yes, it is a long journey indeed, spending the whole of your life with just one person as a friend, confidant, helper, critic, etc. A long time ago, there’s a kind of brain teaser given during a birthday party and it had to do with measurement of distance. We were asked to calculate the shortest route to a particular country and we all fell neck- deep into geographical calculations, crossing boundaries and landscapes and at the end of the day, the coordinator still claimed no one got it right. The price for the winner went up and we explored yet other measures but to our greatest shame, the answers were never considered. When it was clear we had all surrendered, he offered to provide the answer and everywhere became dead silent in anticipation of the great formula, but behold, the tricky tester had nothing mathematical, so to say, nor any understanding of geography. All he said was “the shortest distance to that country is gd company.” Needless to say that a lot of people, if not all, were disappointed, at the same time, they found it difficult 2 contend with d answer. Have you travelled with someone U love before? It’s like the journey should last for ever so you could talk and spend time with each other. I remember being on the same flight with my old school mate. It was easy for me to recognise her with her ever loud voice and throaty laugh, but seeing she was engrossed in conversation with a guy, I decided not to interrupt. From the time we passed the boarding gate to when the plane landed, they had no quiet second, it was all talk, whisper and laughter. When we finally landed, we greeted and had a quick recap of the good old days. I purposely did not want to ask who the young man with her was and true to her nature, she couldn’t contend d excitement as she wrapped her arms round him and enthused “meet my guy, we’re going for formal family introduction this Pls, read more: pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/03/25/marriage-expedition/
