Gbabe 2: @Gentiger.Nice one dude. All you wanted was to become an authority here and to hijack this session. The link you asked pple to view here is for another Visa issue (Swiss applicants and not DV visa lottery). My advice for u is that u still need to be under tutelage and not becoming a supposed expert or immigration lawyer.I didn't mean to be rude but its advisable u sit down, read and follow the thread and not becoming an authority yet.My brother, I am willing to learn from you and anyone else which is why am here. I will rather be an authority in my legal field like the likes of Gani and Keyamo and not in DV lottery matters. If I have inputs to make which I consider useful to the general public, I will not hesitate to air it. Well, sorry if you felt threatened by my presence. It's a public forum, make your inputs and stop fighting over position. Goodluck! |
kennyGGG: By the way I expect the NPC cert to be an authority itself since normal birth certificate is even accepted in some cases.Well sadly my brother, anyone including none Nigerians can swear to an affidavit and procure a drivers licence, making procurement of NPC birth certificate a child's play. In my honest view, I believe this measure is in place to weed out individuals with fraudulent intent. Goodluck! |
pator: Please my brother where is Babs Animashaun located? If you're resident in Lagos, Babs Animashaun is a popular street in Surulere Lagos because it also hosts NYSC camp site. The camp site in question almost shares the same fence with NPC. To process your NPC certificate, follow these steps: 1. Go to a High Court and swear to an age declaration. Ensure that affidavit contains names of both parents and their places of birth. Those touts around the court premises will assist you type out the affidavit neatly. Let them know you need it at NPC. 2. Proceed to NPC office at Surulere if u live in lagos. Go with two passport photos, proof that you are a Nigerian such as National ID, international passport or Driver's License. Go also with your age declaration. 3. If you want express, pay N5k like I did in May or N2500 official fee, in which case you may wait a week or more to process. Express is 48hrs. 4. If you let them know you need it for embassy purposes, they will advise you right away to authenticate it. They will ask you for N10k to do it for you or you proceed to Abuja to do it yourself. I did mine myself. 4. At the Ministry of Foreign affairs, you will pay N2500 per document you need to authenticate, in which case, N5k, for the age declaration and the NPC birth attestation. They will affix the seal of the Federal government on the documents to show you didn't pick those documents from Alagbole. There is also an authorized signatory who signs above the seal. I wish you well and goodluck! |
ksjlar: @Gentiger Please can you share the response about getting jobs in the states from AderemiHere is the info on getting a job in the US as sent to my mail box by Adesoji Aderemi. Getting A job is not as difficult as what some people think in Nigeria, depending on the state you are planing to claim. Within my first three months, I got three Jobs. All you need to do is to visit a career centre closer to you (there is always a career centre in every city). They will register you and teach you how to write a resume. The resume here is different from what we write in Naija. By Law, you dont need to specify your sex, age, local government on your resume. Secondly, tell your host to take you to job agency closer to your area. It is faster to get job for sustainance through Agency. Having a knowlege of data base is plus, visit "monster Job"online to see available jobs category. You may need to evaluate your Credentials and write a board exam if you want to continually use your Nigerian Certificate.... The other information he sent are personal. This is all I think is relevant for now. If you have any further questions on securing a job in the US, pls look up previous posts by Aderemi and fish out his email. I am not authorized to give it here. Thanks and goodluck. |
tundemalik@gmai:The same US embassy website states 5 credit passes at O'levels. Go with your 5 O'levels pass without English and Mathematics especially if that's your highest education attainment and get a shocker of your life. I do not dispute anything on that website, am only advicing people to take extra measures and go the extra mile to avoid nail biting experience. Goodluck! |
tundemalik@gmai:Thanks you sir! It's noted. If your counsel will give me success at my interview, I'll adopt it. One thing I must tell you is this, rules change periodically. What obtained yesterday may fail you today. Thanks once again. |
ksjlar: @Gentiger Please can you share the response about getting jobs in the states from AderemiIt's okay. That will be later in the day because my smartphone is running low on battery. I'll copy and paste the email for all to read with minor adjustments for clarity of grammatical expression. |
brightmon: you joined this forum last month stating " am glad I found this site. You guys are doing a great job" now u have turned ur gladness to confussion.Well my brother, it seem everyone of the experts on this forum is attacking my post on NPC birth certificate. That won't make me change my views because it's proven to be honest and verifiable too. Am in the Law School so haven't got any affiliations to anyone in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please live and let's live. Rather than attack people's honest inputs, make yours and allow the people make personal research before taking a decision. Goodluck! |
missannie: Thanks @ Temmytanny, am a female lol!Missannie, I dropped my email on request. I have posted a link which addresses the issue of NPC exhaustively. I merely asked those who may want further clarifications to contact me via my email. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has got an office at Abuja, opposite the federal secretariat. Incidentally it's a federal parastatal with no liason offices at the state level. This makes a visit to Abuja mandatory. When you come forward with your NPC birth attestation, they will specifically ask you if it's for use at the Embassy. I met some other individuals who came to authenticate marriage certificates because some other embassies specify so. I have contacted Aderemi a couple of days ago via his email address which he posted on this forum regarding securing jobs in the US, and his response was very useful. Some of us take time out of our very busy schedules to make this input inorder to make it unnecessary to pay consultation fees to immigrantion experts whose services you may not afford. Goodluck! |
temmytanny: which cheap money are you talking about? All volunteers here are doing it for free....... so stop making false statements here@Temmytanny... You're my brother and I have made progress in my application thru your posts. Trust me when I tell you this, I do not intend to dispute your posts but simple want to ensure the visitors to this forum have a wider view and make decisions afterwards. If you read the post I quoted above, you will see the reference to profiteering (cheap money) wasnt made by me. I merely responded to clear my name and any misgivings about my persons. Keep up with the good works. Much love. |
adesojiaderemi@:Everyone in the house should take this advice seriously. It's truly possible some people are here to make cheap money. But for those who specifically requested for my email, it's up there to find. If it appears to you anyone is placing extreme burden on you, pls do write the embassy for clarificationor make independent research. But be sure the Embassy will NEVER tell you how to go about your application or give you any procedure on how to process or procure any federal or state document. The truth is this, all of us here are faceless and beware of any counsel which will not accept liability if your application suffers setback as a result. Goodluck. |
nifty: hey guys i dont understand pple just getting notification oooooo,is it that they didnt check previously or new applicants were choosen or what someone pls explain oh...............Most people who are getting notifications via email are those who applied for DV 2012. KCC chose to do so because they concluded that most people threw away their confirmation ID after they checked and were declared unsuccessful before the results were voided. |
missannie: Thanks House for the enlightenment about the Birth Certificate stuff, but it is still NOT yet clear to meHey brother, glad you made it too. NPC is a national agency, meaning you can apply from any state where you are. Secondly, obtaining a birth certificate from NPC will cost you very little so is worth gunning for. Don't take chances or gamble with your lifetime opportunity. Ensure you authenticate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abuja when done. If you need further clarifications, mail me like a lot others have. Go to the embassy with more than one option. That shows you are fully prepared and unwilling to take chances. goodluck! |
jbmohd: gentiger and adesoji aderemi pls i just sent an email to the two of you. kindly pls reply.Hi, I couldn't find any mail from you. Which email address did u use? Well here: info.Seagate@gmail.com |
Gbabe 2: I live in Portharcourt.Do I have to authenticate my NPC attestation of birth with the Ministry of foreign affairs in Abuja before its acceptable at the american embassy? My brother pls read thru this thread from Nairaland which addresses very exhaustively issues regarding NPC. Like I said, your destiny is in your hands. We are all here to assist each other but some people just want to shut others up because they believe they got superior knowledge having been to the embassy. Until you see the visas and meet the individuals who claim to have been issued, thread cautiously. When you obtain your birth certificate from NPC, pls ask them like I did if authentication from Ministry of Foreign affairs is necessary. Act based on their professional counsel. www.nairaland.com/261320/obtaining-birth-certificate-national-population |
Gbabe 2: I live in Portharcourt.Do I have to authenticate my NPC attestation of birth with the Ministry of foreign affairs in Abuja before its acceptable at the american embassy? My brother your destiny is in your hands. It's your right to ask and even your greater right to carry our an independent investigation. You don't swallow hook line and sinker everything you are told in a public forum without careful and painstaking inquiry. I am a lawyer and surrounded by lawyers who are immigration experts. Log on to Google and find out If NPC birth certificate needs independent authentication from the ministry of Foreign affairs or not before a thoughtless counsel deny you a lifetime opportunity. I wish you well. Goodluck! |
jbmohd: Gentiger,pls can i v ur email address?info.Seagate@gmail.com |
mascotinme: Pls when is my interview likely to come up? Is my case number too high? My CN is 2013AF00011***. Pls I need urgent reply....It's not high. Judging from 2012 visa bulletin, you should be current in November/December. Keep your eyes glued to the visa bulletin, as current numbers are released 15th of every month. My case number is 9*** and I expect my interview btw Nov/Dec this year. Goodluck! |
mogzy: House,The good thing about NPC issued birth certificate is that it's NEVER TURNED DOWN. Be informed it's only acceptable after authentication by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That's the new condition. Ask them at NPC office located at Babs Animashaun if you live in Lagos to have a seperate confirmation to this. I was as Abuja in May to authenticate mine. The US consulate is getting so strict on Nigerians cos of the high level of corruption in the country. Goodluck. |
ajmiry: Dear Brothers and Sisters;Glad to have you around here. Always here to help each other. Stay blessed. |
Leripa: @gentiger, brightmon, owobabaisabela and all: abeg, attend to my query o......lolLeripa, am sorry for the late response. OND holders are categorized under others. I would have picked High School Diploma but that wouldnt be equivalent to our Polytechnic which falls under tertiary institutions. |
owobabaisabella: DocumentsI thought people are free to make meaningful contributions to help others, but the way some of us assume the position of Lordship is amazing. It's one thing for the American Govt. website to state one thing and another thing for it to be strictly followed in dealing with Nigerians who are all considered corrupt and fraudulent. My elder brother is presently in Los Angeles. During his visa interview, he experienced significant delays cos he was asked by the consular officer to go get NPC issued birth certificate before any further action would be taken on his application. If you are reading this, it's strongly advised you get a birth certificate issued by NPC along with any other you presently possess. I rest my case. |
temmytanny: who told you that? I used a non-NPC(but from Local govt) and it was accepted.please dont mis inform people here oooo. It's not in my character to get into arguments. Since you have been thru it all and seen it all, so be it. But be sure I am not here to misinform people. Thanks. |
adesojiaderemi@:Be careful with what you counsel. The only accepted birth certificate by the embassy is the one issued by NPC, and it must be authenticated by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abuja. Be informed. |
brightmon: it was an error and been corrected. So if interviwe ends sep 2013, when does submission of form end for DV2013?It's important you submit all forms as soon as you can as long as you got no encumberances. Interviews are scheduled not necessarily on firstcome first serve basis, but according to case numbers. If there are issues you still need to sort out which might not have been sorted out on your interview date (especially for those with low case number), then it's advisable to hold on until it's reasonable to submit. |
brightmon: i think submission of form shuld end few month b4 sep 2014 cos u cant send ur form sep and expect to be interviwed that same sep, hope u get my point? DV2013 interviwe ends sep 30th 2014.DV 2013 will officially end September 30 2013 not September 30 2014. Please take note. By the grace of God, we shall get there.

Please I have a question. I need an answer. In 2007, a course mate applied for the lottery as married with a kid. He was not selected and in actual fact, he wasn't married. Luckily for him, he applied as single for the 2013 and was selected for further processing. My questions are these: 1. Does KCC keep record of entry data from previous DV participants? 2. If they do, do they reference it in the course of investigation? 3. Could this falsification in 2007 affect his present chances? I need an answer house. Thanks! |
adesojiaderemi@:Thanks dear. They responded on Tuesday to acknowledge receipt of my documents and to give further directives on how to check current CN using the Visa bulletin. Am glad to know also that no subject at O'level is a compulsory requirement. I am patiently awaiting my interview date and I believe with God on my side I'll be back with a success story. ![]() |
Hi all! Pls I need an urgent clarification. I am a graduate of Law and would be at the Law school this October. Pls tell me, is maths a compulsory requirement for the O'level 5 credits? I got a P7 in Maths which isn't a core requirement for admission to read Law in most Universities. Secondly, I wrote KCC and they responded saying they won't give answers to my queries until I specify my birth year since I only specified my CN and full names. I then specified my year of birth and uptil now after 2 weeks they are yet to respond. Is this normal? What do you advice I do? |
fittty: Guys I have a friend who won d us visa lottery but made an error on her birth year when applying for the lottery. She has recently sent a hand written letter to the embassy to correct the mistake. What do u guys think about it?This situation is unique and a rare occurrence. I strongly believe she should have sought professional counsel before initiating any contacts with the embassy. It would be unethical and morally wrong to counsel an adjustment in your official birthdate to reflect the errornous date, which would be the easy way out, but that would be tantamount to falsification and corruption. It could also be counter productive. I do not advice this. However, since the error has been officially communicated, it must be noted such errors are often unpardonable even when made by consulars themselves. Pray and hope for the best. It's really dicy. |
Check response below. |
hituneu: Pls house I nid your help,I sent my forms on Thursday, what's next, how will I know if am selected for an interview?Aside KCC mailing you, you should know when likely your CN would be current by comparing with last year visa bulletin. Keep handy your status check confirmation ID which was what you used in the first place to check if you were selected. Your interview details can only be viewed on that same platform using your confirmation ID. |
I am very much interested and I am sure majority of the house mates might benefit from it. Thank you so much.
