NYSCRe: A thread for corpers posted to Abia by genxris: 9:17am On Nov 05, 2012
For those of u coming from Ogun state,u go to Shagamu and get a bus heading to Umuahia, when u get there u will board another vehicle that will get u to Igbere were u have the camp, if u can't get a Umuahia bus in Shagamu then u look for a Owerri or Aba bus either way you will still take a bus to Umuahia.
OBS means orientation broadcasting service and some how it is believed that coppers that join them on campus get a juicy pop placement in the state.
Abia state major towns are umuahia and aba, umuahia is d capital and mainly a civil servant town with a little grooving points and about 45mins drive to Aba ..aba is a buisness city, mainly developed by the residents cos they have a sleeping governor,u will get a lot of cheap stuffs in aba ..infact if u are biz inclined u may see ur self trading on something ur self, clothes, shoes, bags, assoceries etc that u can ever want can be found either made in aba or imported.
Advice..when finally settled where ever u see ur self in d state, always board ur bus in designated park to avoid one chance, The town is generally ok
I wish u goodluck

CrimeRe: Interview With Friends Of Slain Uniport Students by genxris: 7:10am On Oct 10, 2012
This should also be a wake up call to even the security agencies i.e Police. When they arrest a suspect they start beating the living daylight out of that person even before looking for an evidence to pin him to the crime. It's high time the issue of human rights is readdressed in the nigeria police force and as for the aluu-cifers ..until they report all the partakers of that gruesome murder in their land and justice is metted out to the appropriatly, peace will always elude them.

His volkswagen beetle car is said to worthh about #200,000 nigerian naira. This is really unbelieviable but true.
Foreign AffairsMeet The World Poorest President by genxris(op): 6:41am On Oct 10, 2012
While the title president is often synonymous with plush living and hefty paycheques, Uruguay’s head of state is contrasting the norm.

José Mujica who is commonly referred to as the “The World’s Poorest President” donates 90 per cent of his salary, taking home approximately Ksh105, 000 of his allotted Ksh1,050,000.

Speaking to a Spanish newspaper, the 77-year-old head of state explained that the amount he takes home is sufficient

"I do fine with that amount; I have to do fine because there are many Uruguayans who live with much less," he told the paper.

Mujica also refused to live in the presidential residence, opting to reside in a small farmhouse owned by his wife. Like her husband, Mrs. Mujica donates a large sum of her senatorial salary.

The president, who was previously a guerilla fighter, has no bank account. When declaring his wealth, Mujica stated that his most valuable possession is his aged Volkswagen Beetle.

Known as a man who shuns formalities and high-end living, Mujica has endeared himself to many as a generous leader and a true man of the people.  After 10 years behind bars for his guerilla activism, Mujica has served as a senator and minister for agriculture.

Though José Mujica is not the first president to donate his salary, his move is a sharp contrast to the leaders in Kenya and other  who take home large salaries while the bulk of their constituents live below the poverty lin

PoliticsRe: Money For Job In Federal Agencies? Presidency Expresses Shock. Your Experience by genxris: 9:40am On Oct 03, 2012
If God in his wisdom didn't make air a free commodity, some wicked cabals in a country like nigeria would hoard it for the highest bidder: some people in government get and sell job vacancies within FG establishments as if na pure water while poor graduates keep roaming about the streets.
PoliticsRe: Lastma Officials Beat Bus Driver To Death by genxris: 7:49pm On Sep 18, 2012
This behaviour by LASTMA is just a tip of the ice-berg on how the proposed state police would behave when established. I can imagine the indigenes of a state that has been recruited to serve in the state police force unleashing partiality, favouritism and even hatred against the settler residents in his state. Even agberos that is recruited in parks exhibit a high level of lawlessness in their domain because they have state backing

It was just a transmission error, AIT as much as i know them have transmited far more expoistory, revealing & open interviews/programms about our different facets of nationhood in nigeria & we must not fail to recognize their daily contribution in sustaining our democracy. As for Atiku just like most others of his likes always end up to become human right activists or NGO advocates after leaving govt and loosing re_election.....why didn't he practise all these his social justice bullshit talk while in governance as a V.P ?

biofem2000: My sister got her visa earlier this week.
A few lesson for anyone in a similar situation:
1. You can have as many sponsors as are available to you. As many as.......
2. She had a visiting visa she never used. That was not a problem to her. The CO was more than friendly to her.
3. School started 2 weeks ago. No problem. Deja Vu.
4. She barely passed GRE. It was a requirement by the school. The CO asked for it and she handed over her not so good score.
Your sister was really lucky,i posted my first interview in june in which i didn't get visa,i tried again d 2nd time in july & i stil didn't get it (this time around my interaction with d vo more of centerd on my low score GMAT). And i hardly see any body here talk of their score in gmat or gre & that makes me think am alone on d score thing..now reading of your sister's interview shows me that on a good day at the embassy somethings may not count against u....i am presently studying d gmat again so i can rewrite and hopefully get a higher score (even though am not good in the quatitativs)

PoliticsRe: Abia Was An Abandoned Project – Governor Orji by genxris: 2:30pm On Sep 05, 2012
Another painful thing is that every year residents of Aba are intimidated with government thugs & police to enforce them to pay for infastructure development fee & sanitation fee and none of these services is ever rendered to Aba residents. So many commercial bus & keke govt touts are assigned everywhere to embezzle drivers everyday ,one would even wonder if any fed allocation is paid to the clueless governor at all..Infact i wish a state of emergency be decleared in the state
PoliticsRe: Abia Was An Abandoned Project – Governor Orji by genxris: 10:10am On Sep 05, 2012
Sometimes i wonder if some of our gövernors e.g T.A Orji ever visits, reads or even hear of the developmental strides some of their counterpats in other states do for their states. As far as Abians and Aba residents are concerned, the present governor has failed them woefully.

BusinessRe: Clarification: Ghana Is Not Closing Legal Nigerian Businesses by genxris: 7:47am On Jul 07, 2012
I remmember as a young child growing up in d early 90's we have lots of ghanians working as shoemakers, tailors, securitymen etc in my state then.
I remember their were many of them teaching in my primary skol then (i later got to understand that most of them were nt qualified to teach bt they coming into naija then wit teaching certificates that belongd to their brothers & got jobs with it) even my skol headmaster later became a ghanian & no nigerian staff jelosyed them then. I even knw of a ghanian that got employd to our national bank wit a fake certificate & was claiming to come from a state in d niger delta region till he was later discoverd & dismissd.
Nollywood brought up & brushed d young ghana movie industry, accomodatd & taught them how it is done but today they want to rub shoulders with their teachers.
I tink d nigerian govt & people have unconditionally playd d role of a big brother to other African nations for so long to it's own detriment
BusinessRe: Clarification: Ghana Is Not Closing Legal Nigerian Businesses by genxris: 7:27am On Jul 07, 2012
I am nt against d ghanians trying to protect their small scale biz industry bt in doing it,they should av a human face cos nigeria sheltered & exposd them to whatever they tink they knw today..my problem is wit sum nigerians that send their kids to skols in ghana (private skols for that matter) when we have both good public and private skols over here.. We have given so many small countries reasons to spit at us and that's so bad.
