Well Buhari is making sense this time but due to his unenviable track record nobody is willing to listen to him anymore.

Nigeria can't do it alone too many players in this game by this point. The terror war is mostly being fought by proxy, the two main factions of fundamentalist Islam are right there in the mix, with numerous state actors involved too....you'd be shocked to learn how much arms and ammunition a closet rogue-state like Turkey is funneling into Nigeria using those demonic Lebanese you people love to worship and bow down to.

Crime / Re: Please Help As Two Nigerian Financial Institution Defrauds An Old Woman's Money by Gharial: 2:54am On Apr 29, 2021
nextdoorpal:
Compliments of the day everybody reading this. Please I need help thus my having to create this post, it has to do with a wrong accorded my mum by two financial institutions in Nigeria named First Bank of Nigeria and Guaranty Trust Bank. Please forgive me as its quite a long read and i'm hopeful of summising it within a few paragraphs please. This incident occurred on 2nd February 2021. My mum is a retired civil servant who went to withdraw money sent by my elder sister on the 1st of February 2021. My mum went to the bank on the morning of 2nd February 2021 to withdraw money to aid her go purchase some building materials and upon getting to the bank(First Bank Nigeria, Aka Road, Uyo) she inserted her card into the machine slot, tried withdrawing #20000 initially but the machine didn't dispense, she tried a second time, the machine still didn't dispense. She ejected her card and inserted it again, tried again, the machine whirled and stopped but didn't pay, the person behind her asked her to reduce her sum probably it would pay her. She inputted #10000 and the machine whirled, stopped and trapped her card. All this occurring within 8:00 -8:05am, she rushed into the banking hall and was referred to her parent bank (GTBank), that she can't be given the card but for her parent bank writing and requesting same from them.

To this end, she hurriedly left for GTBANK Abak Road, Uyo only to be told they were working out from their other branch located at Udo Udomma Avenue. She still made her way down there and laid her complaint and was told her card has been blocked. Meanwhile in the same stead I was home when I got a mail from GTBank detailing #500 was about to be withdrawn and if I didn't authorize the transaction, I should dial.a certain code, write them or visit any of their branches to block it from occurring, few seconds afterwards another mail came through detailing #160000 was about to be withdrawn from the account and if I didn't authorize it, I should contact them. Please note, my mum is not tech savvy thus upon her opening this account, I had accompanied her to the bank to aid her open it and the bank had requested for a phone number and mail address to attach to the account- we used her mobile number and I gave my mail since she doesn't own one. This informed my knowing the transaction occurring real time on the said day.

My mum came home subsequently around few minutes to noon on that very day and told me what occurred, I then told her a mail was sent to me detailing #160500 was withdrawn. She asked me to accompany her back to the bank, that the bank had told her all transactions on the account had been stopped. I dressed up and accompanied her there, upon getting there she lodged a complaint and explained what I told her to the banking personnel she had met earlier and the person told her that the money had already been taken as at when the ATM was still in the machine. He advised us to come back the next day as they were investigating the transaction, I subsequently asked my mum to go get her account statement to which she did but was only given from the beginning of the year till the 1st of February 2021. They declined giving her details till 2nd of February 2021 with their excuse being that the account was being investigated to know what transpired earlier. We took the statement and left with hopes of coming back the next day.

Those particular thieves are right inside FBN.

Nigerian banks are filled with thieves these days, they've employed too many boys who were already into yahoo right from the higher institutions. Once an ATM with-holds your card at any bank in Nigeria any account tied to that card will be emptied by insiders within minutes.

CBN is too busy running forex rackets to care
Crime / Re: Ogun: Gunmen Murder Hotelier And Wife In Home Invasion by Gharial: 2:48am On Apr 29, 2021
OmoOgunOriginal:
Gunmen are reported to have assassinated a hotelier, Kehinde Ibidunni, and his wife, Elizabeth, in Atan-Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota, Ogun State.

The 63-year-old man and his wife, 54, were reportedly shot dead by the gunmen who broke into their residence at Atan-Ota in the early hours of Tuesday.

It was learnt that when the assailants stormed the victims’ residence at No 15 Tella Ojo Crescent, Atan-Ota, around 3 pm, they forced their way into the house through a burglary proof, the noise catching the attention of a little girl who was residing with the late couple.

The little girl is said to have immediately rushed to Mr Ibidunni’s room to alert him about the break-in, but when he emerged to investigate the ‘strange visitors,’ he was reportedly shot in the chest and died on the spot.

The hoodlums later got hold of his wife, beating her before finally shooting her dead, Daily Sun learnt.

A son of the deceased couple, simply identified as Olayinka, told Daily Sun that the incident was an ‘assassination’. He said his parents were murdered barely a month after they attended his wedding in Abuja.

‘They stayed alone in the house,’ Olayinka said, narrating the incident.

‘They have a little girl staying with them in the house for support. At about 3 am on April 27, the girl heard some people trying to gain access into the house through the burglary proof. She immediately stood up, went to my dad’s room and called him that some people were trying to gain entrance.

‘When my dad showed up to ask about the people, they shot him in the chest straight up. So, he died instantly. After they killed him, they gained access into the house. They went into the room, they met my mum, they beat her, they stabbed her and finally they shot her. They killed the two of them and, after that, they scattered the whole house, they took the little money they could lay their hands on and they left,’ Olayinka said.

‘From what we know and what the police are saying, it is a case of assassination. We can’t tell what type of robbery that led to killing of husband and wife. I think it is an assassination case,’ he added.

He further stated that the police had taken the corpses to the morgue.

‘The police were around all through, they were even the ones who took the corpses to the morgue. They told us that they have not laid their hands on any concrete evidence, but they are still trying to interview some people. We were even at the station as at yesterday (Tuesday),’ Olayinka stated.

Describing his parents as ‘peaceful and loving,’ Olayinka indicated that the family has concluded plans to bury the couple on Friday.

Ogun State police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi did not respond to calls and texts to confirm the incident.

Stop using your card on any e-commerce sites whether naija or foreign (very few foreign sites take naija cards anyways). Just stop!

The moment all those dodgy txn switches showed up, I knew it was just a matter of time before they started running local rackets on every naija payment. Anything outside of etranzact or interswitch then you are almost certainly gonna get robbed!

No sir, that wasn't the focus of the discussion...we weren't comparing earnings with standard of living so its skewed to bring in inflation and all what not...pls go back and check how d gist started and see if your contribution was necessary/relevant to the line of discussion.

See it's good to make money but you can be sure someone somewhere is making more, so no need to brag or measure dicks. You guys are suffering from inferiority complex... and what I've noticed is that most of you drivers also like to argue for the hell of it, you want people to think you're knowledgeable even when it's obviously a waste of time & energy

No mind am...whats d relationship between inflation and how much people are earning? As if we were talking about quality of life. Or is it only Ehailing that d inflation affects?

That aside, people should learn to track back to find out how discussions start before contributing instead of jumping in midway to quote someone out of context or change d narrative.

It's okay bro, not really dragging or arguing. Just trying to analyze issues from a general perspective.

And actually your profit was N2500 from that 5k. Don't forget the 2k fuel that was used, at least 1k for miscellaneous on top of the 5k after all the running around. How much come remain? Bolt almost made more from you than you did for yourself with the N1,600 they took from the 8k. That's why one will not see the money after netting 10k a day. Na only about 2k go dey your pigeon hole. You will be wondering where the money had gone.

I'm just using the earnings that you posted as a case study which will be helpful to all of us going forward. Don't take it personal please.

Tell them

People should stop posting their earnings here. Right now the rate of inflation is like 50% I can understand some people just can't believe they are making so much money but it's not how much you make but ultimately how much the money can buy. Buhari's govt will soon take fuel price to 200 and guess what the app companies will keep holding fares down simply because of the plenty bragging going on here.

A well-targeted riposte by the OPC

Anyone who wants to know why Nigeria can never win the war against insurgency should look no further than the antics and pronouncements of people like Dambazau and other senior ex- and serving officers of the Nigerian armed forces (including the chief executive himself)

As long as closet terrorists like Dambazau continue to function within the highest echelons of Nigerian military & political hierarchy the Boko war can have only one denouement: the subjugation of northern Nigeria or possibly the entire nation to the bloody tenets of fundamentalist Islam.

The Anambra-born actress said she hopped on a plane and flew to Lagos from Enugu to satisfy her sexual urge and then returned to the movie set the next day with a “full tank.”

I've read through all the posts here as regards my last post  and I'm appreciative of all valid takes.
Those that contacted me understood the terms and are free to consider.
Someone here said I'm being helped. To fix a car you'd also benefit from in the long run.
You have no access to credit and you want to manage someone's fleet or car. I wouldn't want to leave my car or cars in the hands of a desperate man.

If I was a driver, I'd even prefer it this way because if payments from your contribution are to be spread across 10 months to one year, you will have an assurance of job security as against when a partner can give you a car and yank it off you at any time leaving you without a car again.
But I am not, that's why I want to hear valid reasons why what I suggested is bad or uncalled for.

Some comments made on faceless forums are the reason why some people don't go far in life (they still might because I'm not God) .
People run background checks before they conduct business  and the most people that have been beneficial to me in my line of business are acquaintances I made on social media.
So Learn to be civil with your interactions when few people are watching, and even more civil when more are.
I've had interactions with two or three popular nairalanders from the thread in real life and I must say they I wasn't really impressed.

However, I'm open to learning more so I can understand how I am being the exploitative one here and change for the better in being a good Partner or employee.

You came here on the prowl for people who are so desperate that they allow you take advantage of them. But fair enough bro, Nigeria is a desperate society. It's the reason why uber/bolt would put driver-partners under such egregious terms and people are still grateful to drive/partner with them.

UK recently made a ruling to make the hustle more humane, but guess what, their drivers don't even deal with half the nonsense Nigerian drivers have to deal with such as bad roads and a customer base where criminals roam free and strike at will.

Go raise money in a honorable way, put your car in serviceable condition then come back and seek for driver to work for you. You' prolly get one in your immediate environment if your terms were fair.
The truth is most Nigerians hate criticism and we mostly lack critical thinking skills. The average Naija gets by with the barest minimum of thinking/self-reflection, except food, money or sex is directly involved. Zero long term plans. Which is the problem of most of these drivers bragging with their 1.2m dashboard figures here...very soon LASG will impose a fresh set of levies on them cheesy

Be receptive to criticism bro, stop looking for interest-free loan from desperate people

Banana island was the brainchild of Late Chief Adebayo Adeleke. The grandfather of Davido. It was hijacked by Babangida after he finished reclaiming the land. This was after Maroko was hijacked from him by Lagos state government.

Adebayo Adeleke was not Davido's grandfather.

Davido's grand dad was Senator Raji Ayoola Adeleke. He was a politician, a lawmaker during the second republic and one of Obafemi Awolowo's associates.

Maybe he was related to the engineer/real estate developer who conceived Banana island, maybe not (you'd have to ask the Adelekes to be sure). But all of you need to stop throwing inaccurate information all over the place
